"What a brave dude you are bub." Salazar smiled wickedly. "I do what is necessary to survive. As you do. Now get out of the way or I'll do it." "You'll go too," said cap. "You're a criminal; not a martyr." Logan "and our chances of surviving it are pretty good. I did survive Nagasaki after all…" Logan was right on those counts cap was aware. It was more about these young women that had likely been ripped from their homes. Cap looked into their eyes and saw the terror. They were slaves, mostly for sex and stuff, but property nonetheless. And cap was a liberator…

Cap made his shield disappear and held up his hands. "Take me as a hostage instead." Logan looked over at him but didn't object. Salazar didn't reject it outright. "You know what I mean for the American revolution right now. I'm an infinitely more valuable hostage." That enticed Salazar even more. "I'm the commander of the rebel army. They'll pay anything to get me back." Logan "I hate this idea but he's right Salazar. He's the MacArthur of the whole damn thing."

Salazar's eyes narrowed. He knew time wasn't on his side. The howlers before him had some greater advantage there. "Very well Captain. But if you renege…" "I won't. You have my word." Salazar exhaled. "Very well. Switch out with one of them." Cap did so. Salazar told the girls to get out. "Power the other vest down." Cap did. Salazar turned to Logan. "Leave here and pull out your men; now." Logan looked to cap; cap nodded. Logan left. "Take a seat Captain." Wearing his new "explosive wardrobe" cap took a seat. Salazar sat across from him.

Bucky into his comms "Steve; we heard about what's going on. Hang in there. There's more from Sharon. T'Challa reached out. Said he'd be willing to relocate all diaspora blacks to Africa and Wakanda if it can help end the war. Something to think about. Clear your throat or something if you copy." Cap cleared his throat a little. "We're coming for you pal. Hang in there. Out."

"They better pay well Captain." "They will. Especially if I'm the one talking to them. I need to be at any ransom negotiation." Salazar nodded. "Fair enough." Pause "that was quite selfless what you did for two common whores." "Freedom is the right of all." Salazar laughed. "Nice noble sentiments. But I've heard many different things about you now. Since your… retirement transformation whatever the hell you wanna call it…you've become darker I hear Captain." "Maybe. Maybe I'm an antihero now. I live in the gray maybe. I embrace it." "I didn't realize you were such a poet Captain." "I was an artist before becoming a soldier." "How very interesting. What changed?" "A little thing called world war 2." Salazar nodded. "Yes; that would do that wouldn't it." "It did. I was there." "Times were simpler then Captain." "No they weren't. Everyone says that but they weren't. I've lived in both eras. I'd know for sure. They're just different." "Such a philosopher Captain. Full of surprises." Cap shrugged. "I've had time to think things over."

Salazar nodded stood and changed out the deadman detonator to a now mobile one. He had options. Good to know. Cap had already saved lives and bought time. Plus his biggest cartel target was right in front of him.

The Mexican cartels were tight buddies with the liberal parties. This strange bedfellow association was a big reason for the ongoing border instability. Of course it was all flag smasher/hydra linked too ultimately; but that was higher up the conspiratorial food chain. Right here and now at their level it was this stuff.

Liberals were definitely the enemies of America and freedom. There was no denying that now.

As for T'Challa's plan cap couldn't say no. Anything to make America great again; the way it should be; white Christian dominant; without all the vicious cycle racial insanity; was a winner in cap's book. And his men, Sharon, knew that too. They would keep things moving in his absence.

For now the cartel had to be his focus; and for now that was Salazar. One baddie at a time Steve…
