Chapter 28th
The local ambulance coming from L.A. hospital arrived along with every police agency in the area, fire truck, and coroner.
Two medical technicians jumped out of the back of the ambulance pulling out a stretcher along with medical equipment in order to try and save the patient's life. They are connected to the emergency room of l.a. hospital. First things first Loreile was able to explain what had happened with her finance having to be shot.
Meanwhile the firetruck with orders from the chief needed to put out the fires caused by the car crashing into two over to have its rollover. There was already one dead having been shot and another inside the vehicle.
Captain Jim Proscan of the local Metro police came over asking the questions as Loreile was so shaken up as she explained her story to him while watching the technicians work on her future husband. They had been talking to someone on the radio.
"These people were part of a plot to try and kill Special Agent Gibbs of NCIS and including myself," she said to the Captain.
"How did you know this time?" he responded with searching the area with the firetruck personnel putting out the fires to find the charred body inside.
"Waitress noticing that the car had been driving past the window a number of times. When all of a sudden Jethro ran out to try and take them out," she commented.
"Brave man that's for sure Lt. Baskins. Good luck with finding all of those Catel members involved in the scheme to take out Special Agent Gibbs?" he exclaimed with looking over at the fire chief coming over to them. "What do you have Chief?"
"Two bodies one with gunshot wounds dead and the other inside the vehicle having been burnt from the crash. We have removed the body for the coroner to take it back to his autopsy bay to search for any clues?" he had to say with the shake of his head to head back to his team and finish up with the cleaning of the area.
"Chief I am Lt. Loriele Baskins of the Naval Yards. Do you think that you're able to send a report to the local NCIS office of L.A. and in charge of a woman's name Hetty?" she replied.
"I will let the coroner know Lt. Baskins," he said with walking away further.
"Captain do you need me for anything else with needing to go along into the ambulance. I have a number of people back in WASHINGTON, D.C. to let them know what exactly has happened." she quipped with heading for the ambulance.
NCIS Los Angeles
Hetty had received the report from the local police on the shooting of NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and having been brought to the hospital and currently still in surgery to report the bullets in his right leg and arm.
She had gone into MTAC to contact Director Leon Vance about his agent. He was online in MTAC wondering why she was calling.
"What's wrong Hetty?" she had a strange look on her face.
"There's been a shooting at a restaurant for where your Supervisor special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs was shot by the local Cartel members. He's currently in the L.A. medical center with two bullets to his right leg and arm. Lt. Loriele Baskins is currently at the hospital as with the rest of his friends."
Vance cursed knowing that McGee and Torres had gone against direct orders.
He asked the assistant director to take over in order to take a flight out to San Francisco to see how his agent is doing as with Lt. Baskins. This was beginning to be too much for his agent being out of control.
"Yes, sir right away." Lorraine working the computer terminal inside of MTAC.
He left to head upstairs to his office to pack his things to head home with calling for a flight right away. Even though his go bag is always ready to go with him in case of situations like these.
Moments later since the Assistant director James Lowry was in the Naval Yards for a briefing. He didn't know what was ahead of him with taking over for NCIS Naval Yards for the week.
Taking over his office with Vance leaving the orders on the desk on what had been going on with the cases, SECNAV, and meetings coming up at the Pentagon.
Director Leon Vance had called his girlfriend Melissa at the Pentagon having to be working this shift. She was to be off the next week for vacation. When she had gotten the message. She asked her boss whether she could leave and start her vacation now explaining the situation to him.
He agreed since most or all of her work had been cleared. She had sent a message back to Vance telling him that she will be meeting him at the airport having packed quickly once she arrived home.
After packing quickly with the items she was going to be needing. She was able to meet up with Leon Vance at terminal C with the two tickets with the flight ready to leave in one hour.
"There was a slight delay with the crews arriving after being checked for the virus. I have our cards that will tell them that we have been vaccinated," he said with a quick kiss and a coffee in his hands for her.
"Thanks on both accounts," she said.
