I found myself back to where I had been two months ago. On the run with nowhere to go.

This time I had nothing but the clothes on my back. No food. No money. Not even my phone.

I wound up back at the abandoned warehouse where I'd hidden after being caught seeing Bree using her bionics. That seemed so long ago.

I was tired, stressed, and being covered in dust from the collapsing lab didn't help the situation. Especially with the cuts from exploding glass on my face. I was concerned that they would get infected if I didn't clean them soon.

So after a sleepless night on a cold metal floor, I eventually ventured out around midday and went to find a place to clean up. It might help me think clearer if I looked halfway decent.

A gas station was the best I could do. Thankfully there was a basket of cleaning supplies, so before I touched the sink I used a whole lot of bleach until I was satisfied.

I waited for the water to become warm and splashed my face with it. I hissed as my cuts sting from the contact but went on to scrub with soap until there was not a spot of dirt in any of the six cuts I counted. There were even a few on my hands which I didn't know were there until I started washing them.

Looking at my appearance, I desperately wished for a new change of clothes. The one's I had on we're not mine though. Douglas must have given it to me because it wasn't my typical style. Other than the black turtleneck and black jeans, I've never worn a jacket like this and definitely never anything with heels. I was at least four inches taller.

When someone knocked on the door I realized I'd been in the bathroom for over twenty minutes and left before I could get in trouble.

Walking back into the mini-store, I browsed the aisles filled with snacks and drinks. I put a hand on my stomach when it growled.

Glancing at the front check out, the person behind it was busy talking on the phone. Looking back at the selection of breakfast bars before me, I consider stealing one. No one would know.

I unzip my jacket halfway and blindly grab one of the bars to stuff underneath it. I go to zip my jacket closed, the bar is hidden in a secret pocket, but pause as I second-guessed doing this. I've never shoplifted, no matter how hungry I got. I glanced at the door, a mere twenty feet away. It'd be an easy escape.

Something I told Douglas came to mind.

I'm no thief.

Sighing, I take the bar out and set it back on the display, and head outside before I was further tempted to shoplift.

It was then that I saw a picture of me on the glass window of the door with the word MISSING above it. This I do take and look at as I walk around to the side of the building, subconsciously pulling my hood on while doing so.

I'm not sure what to think about this. I wouldn't have expected Laura to report me missing, but at this point, I don't know what to expect from anyone. I wished she'd used a different photo instead of my eighth-grade yearbook one. It was two years old and I was in the middle of my awkward phase. My nose was too big and the haircut I had was horrendous.

"Yeah, I don't think it's your best picture either." I jumped and dropped my paper as I swiveled around to punch whoever snuck up on me. My first was caught and I relaxed some when I recognized the familiar face.

"Don't sneak up on me!" I exclaimed in half-hearted anger making Noah smirk.

"But it's fun." He said, dropping my hand and I rolled my eyes. "You look awful. Worse than that picture."

"Gee, thanks," I said sarcastically. "What are you doing here?"

"Looking for you." I looked at him suspiciously.

"Why?"

"Come on, I know we've had our differences, but I think of you as a little sister. Can't help but worry when you've been missing for a week and a half. "

I laugh dryly at the obvious lie.

"A: I'm not your sister and B: I can look after myself. C: cut to the crap and tell me why you're really here." He shrugged.

"Fine." Next thing I knew I was pinned against the wall with a knife at my throat. "Someone wants you and is willing to pay a high price to the person who turns you in."

"Douglas," I growled but he shook his head.

"Nope."

"Then who?" I questioned, trying to ignore the blade pressing against my neck.

"Don't know. And while I don't understand why they'd want you, I'm not passing up the opportunity for some easy money."

"Well, I'm not letting you take me in." I shoved him with as much force as I could which sent him stumbling over thirty feet away. His confused expression matched mine until I remembered I had super strength.

"Someone's gotten stronger." He said and he charged at me. I don't know how, but I easily dodged and blocked every punch and kick Noah threw at me. It's like my body had a mind of its own as it hit the side of its neck and he fell to the ground. Somehow I knew he wasn't dead, only unconscious.

Stepping back, I looked at my hands and him multiple times while breathing heavily. How in the world did I do that?

I push the questions away for now and get away from there as fast as I can.

I run until I can't anymore, ending up in a busier part of town. The stitches in my sides are almost unbearable and I have to lean against a wall of a building.

I just can't seem to catch a break. Now some mystery person is after me. Is it someone who knows about the bionics? Seems kind of suspicious that they're looking for me the day after I escaped Douglas' clutches.

I groan and slide down the wall until I'm sitting on the ground, one hand clutching my right side that's still letting out sharp pains.

What am I going to do? Now that I'm bionic I can't go back to living a normal life. Well, normal for me anyway.

There has to be a solution.

I roll my sore neck and go to massage it with my hand. My fingers find the spot that's bugging me the most, oddly enough it's where my bionic chip is.

I freeze and my eyes widen. My bionic chip! It's what controls my bionics, the heart of my bionic infrastructure. My mind recalls the time that Adam, Bree, and Chase's chips had to be removed so Mr. Davenport could inspect them. One time they even switched their chips, and I learned that Chase was the one who trapped me and Leo in the elevator by mistake. Having no experience with laser eyes, he got agitated and they glitched.

I can just remove mine and destroy it! Then I'd be normal again, completely useless to whoever wants to get their hands on me.

I grew excited and hurried to stand until I realized the only way to remove my chip was to break into Davenport's lab. I never wanted to go back there. But I have to if I'm going to remove the chip.

And now might be the only time I can do it. Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo should be in school and their parents should be at work.

It was easy to get into the lab. Mr. Davenport hadn't changed the passwords to get inside. Technically I don't think he knows that I...acquired that information myself. I was quick to disable Eddy before he could alert anyone I was down here. All it took was pulling some wires and he's gone.

Now came the hard part. I never really paid attention to how Mr. Davenport went about removing the chips. I can remember what I was eating while he did it - a chocolate donut. But the steps to removing a bionic chip? Nope.

I guess that the console in front of the capsules would hold the answer.

Pressing what I assume is the on button, the screen turned on. I growled and hit the console when the words Identification Required popped up. It wanted either a fingerprint or eye scan for clearance.

I pinched the bridge of my nose and exhaled loudly. A voice in my head spoke up.

You can just hack into the system.

Raising my head, I turn back to the console. One of my bionic abilities must give me the ability to scan things because that's what happened and within seconds I knew everything about the console, down to the loose screw on the lower panel at the back of it.

Once the scan finishes, a thousand ways to bypass the lock are running through my head and I start to feel overwhelmed and clutch my head when it starts to hurt.

I force the lists of codes to stop coming up in my vision and sigh in relief when it does. Geez, how do Adam, Bree, and Chase deal with this sort of stuff? It's very uncomfortable.

But if I have to use my bionics to help get rid of them, well I can deal with it.

I get to work and start hacking.

From how easily I went about messing with wires and punching in codes, you'd think I'd done this for years. In my wildest dreams, I would never have thought I could do something like this. Learning how to code and all that stuff has to be a nightmare and yet I don't need to with my bionics.

I'm not sure how much time went by, but all I had left to do was switching a blue wire with a green one and then no scan would be needed to access the files and whatnot on the console.

Just as I'm about to plug in the wires in their new place, the lab doors opened and my blood went cold.

I heard a high pitched yelp and relaxed when I realized it was only Leo.

"What're you doing here?!" Sighing, I plug in the last wire and stand up as the console beeped, letting me know it was ready to go.

Going to face Leo, I wonder if I should answer or just knock him out right away. I decide on the former, just to humor him.

"It's bionic stuff. You wouldn't understand." I took a step forward and using my molecular kinesis I made the doors close so he couldn't escape. He visibly gulped and looked wide-eyed at me.

"Oh no. Not again." He said and he tried to make the doors open but I used my laser eyes to fry the control panel before he could reach it.

I wondered what he meant by again. But now wasn't the time to ask questions.

"Help! Help!" He shouted and I became anxious. If he's here, then his siblings must be home too. Crap!

I needed to shut him up. I ran to him and grabbed him while he was distracted calling for help, clamping a hand over his mouth.

"You need to shut it or you're going to blow this for me!" He muffled something angrily and I assume it was something along the lines of 'duh, that's the point!' "If you want to leave here with all your bones intact, you'll shut up and let me do what I want. Or I'll spill your bionic secret to the authorities and you'll be in a hospital. " He glared at me from the corner of his eyes and I did the same, showing I was serious. Eventually, he nodded and I let him go harshly to where he fell to the ground.

"What are you doing anyway?" He asked.

"None of your beeswax. So shut it." I told him, not bothering to look his way as I tried to figure out the chip extraction process.

"I can't believe you worked for Douglas. I trusted you, which turned out to be a mistake."

"It was an extremely stupid mistake." I agreed, clicking a file named bionic chip maintenance and continuing, "You shouldn't trust someone you don't know very well."

"Yeah, it took you trying to kill me to figure that out." I paused reading some directions I found and looked at him over my shoulder.

"What are you talking about?" I asked. That's when he snapped.

"You tried to kill me with your lightning! And you almost destroyed my entire family and I hate you for it!" I've never seen Leo so furious. The hatred in his eyes was so unlike him and it made me feel weird that it was directed at me. "Do you feel guilty for anything you did?!" A line formed between my eyebrows when he asked this. I wasn't sure how to answer. Honestly, I have so many things swirling around inside that I can't afford to feel guilty.

I open my mouth to say this when there's shouting coming from the other side of the doors.

"I'm in here!" Leo shouted and I grabbed him again to cover his mouth. He proceeds to bite my hand, so hard that I yank it away and hiss in pain. "I'm not letting you threaten me like Marcus did!" He said before shouting for help again. I froze when he mentioned Marcus, my one arm still keeping a tight grip around his arms and middle while the rest of me was frozen.

He can't compare me to Marcus! I'm nothing like him!

I'm shaken out of my reverie when Leo managed to jab an elbow into my stomach and I unintentionally let him go. In a moment of pure anger over not being able to complete my task, I made lightning shoot from my hand and hit Leo square on the back. The lab doors fall to the ground with a loud bang as Leo collapses in front of them. Mr. Davenport and Adam, Bree, and Chase rushed in.

All eyes landed on me then Leo and everyone gasped.

"Leo!" Mr. Davenport shouted.

"What did you do!" Chase demanded, getting angry. I opened and closed my mouth, too shocked to speak. Did I just hurt Leo?

When Adam and Bree advanced a couple of steps toward me I started backing slowly to the garage door. Bree super sped and blocked the exit.

"Stay away from me." I warned while glancing back and forth between the siblings, starting to feel overwhelmed again.

Bree attacked first, super speeding over and pushing me into the island console. Grunting as I fell backward I grabbed onto the edge of the console so I didn't collapse.

I barely straightened up when Adam grabbed my arms and tried to pin them behind my back.

"Let me go!" I shouted. My demand was ignored and Bree came over to help Adam.

Before they could succeed in taking me down, I created a forcefield and made it where it knocked both the siblings away. It wasn't as strong as I'd hoped and the siblings were only knocked to the ground a few feet away, but still stunned from the impact.

"Hey! No one hurts my brothers and sister." I faced Chase and stopped him from attacking, using my molecular kinesis to stop him from moving.

It worked, for a few seconds anyway. When my molecular kinesis suddenly stopped working, I tried to activate it again but nothing happened.

"Wha-" I gasped when Chase grabbed my arms and retaliated by elbowing his stomach. He let go and I made a run for the door. But then my body froze in place and I couldn't move anything.

Cursing to myself, I struggled against the force holding me in place.

"LET ME GO!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, my breathing starting to become erratic. I tried to conduct lightning to my hands but nothing but a spark came from them.

I really began panicking when something sharp pricked the side of my neck. Within seconds my vision started to blur and the room began to spin.

"N-no." I said weakly. Suddenly the force holding me in place is gone and I can't stop myself from collapsing as everything went dark.
