Chapter 28. Battle With the Forces of Evil

Hercules Olympus

Hercules rode on his trusty steed, Pegasus, through the sky. Rapunzel held on to him tightly.

The sky was dark and stormy, winter winds buffeted them but Pegasus stayed on course, white wings flapping in the dark sunless sky. No sun had risen but Hercules still knew the way to Mount Olympus.

"I don't know if I'll be much help without my strength." Hercules shouted.

"Perhaps I can heal you with my hair?" Rapunzel suggested.

"It's worth a shot." Hercules replied.

Rapunzel wrapped a lock of hair around Hercules' bicep and began to sing.

Flower gleam and glow

Let your power shine

Make the clock reverse

Bring back what once was mine

Heal what has been hurt

Change the Fates design

Save What has been lost

Bring back what once was mine

What once was mine

Hercules felt nothing. He felt as weak as he had before. But then, suddenly, his strength returned. He felt divine blood pumping through his veins.

"It worked!" Hercules shouted with joy.

"And just in time too." Rapunzel pointed ahead

Before them was a glittering array of palaces built into the clouds being assaulted by primordial monsters. The clouds were dark purple and stormy. Ice and fire blasted the once glorious pavilions to ruin. Wind and earth destroyed gardens and monuments.

Before them was an array of gods and goddesses bound by chains, descending from the celestial mountain on a long staircase.

Hercules flew to the height of the mountain to a golden temple, the Hall of Zeus. The roof had been torn off and the pillars toppled but the structure still stood.

Pegasus kicked the door open. There was a massive mound of magma and ice in the center of the Hall and Hades sat on the golden throne, drinking a martini.

"Hades!." Hercules shouted.

Hades choked on his drink. "Hercules! What are you doing here? And what is she doing here?"

"We're here to save the world!" Rapunzel leapt off the Pegasus and ran towards Hades.

She swung her long hair like a lasso around Hades. She sang her incantation and her hair began to glow.

"Owe! Stop, it's agonizing." Hades shrieked as the healing hair burned his deathly essence.

Hercules broke open the mound of magma and a bright light shone from inside. A golden, muscular man broke through.

"Dad!" Hercules hugged the newly freed Zeus.

"Hercules! Let's show these titans how it's done." Zeus smiled.

Hercules ran outside and saw the titans laying waste to Mount Olympus.

The titan of wind roared towards him but Hercules grabbed him by his tornado-like tail. He swung him towards the other titans sucking them into the roaring wind. Hercules swung them in circles and launched them into the stars, Zeus hurled his last lightning bolt at them, exploding them in a symphony of stars and color.

So that was the end of the titans.

"Where the hell is Chernabog!" Hades hissed but Rapunzel just pulled her glowing hair tighter.

As Hades cried out in pain his chain of power dissolved and the other gods were freed. They ran back up to Olympus.

Hercules, Zeus and Rapunzel loomed over Hades.

"You thought you could use today to take over the universe." Zeus fumed.

"If that lout Chernabog had shown up this would only be the first Heaven to fall." Hades spat.

Rapunzel tightened her hair. "I think it's time for your schemes to come to an end."

"I couldn't agree more." Hercules rolled up his sleeves.

"Wait, I have the soul of someone you love." Hades smirked. "Set me free and I'll give you a chance to rescue her."

Meg! So that's how he got his strength back. It wasn't Rapunzel's healing, Meg had been hurt!

"How did you get her soul? I thought you set her free." Hercules grabbed Hades by the black toga.

"She made a deal with me. Anyone who does is condemned to Hades. It's in the fine print." Hades croaked.

"Fine." Hercules looked grim. "We'll let you go, just tell me how to free Meg."

"Are you sure?" Rapunzel looked at him nervously.

"Son, don't fall for his tricks." Zeus folded his arms.

"Rapunzel, let him go." Hercules said firmly.

Rapunzel unwound her hair from the god of death, who whimpered and raised himself from the ground

"I'll take you to her." Hades grinned.

Peter Pan

Peter Pan was called to action by the god Hermes, shortly before the day with no dawn. He was called to help whoever he saw besieged by evil but do it in a way that caused mischief. Peter was down with that.

He was flying through the stormy sky when he saw Bald Mountain turn into Chernabog. No way he was dealing with that. He would die.

He looked down and saw a red car speeding down the road. Cruella De Vil. She had to be up to no good.

He flew down to the car. That's when he saw his nemesis and detention giver Coach Hook, pointing a gun at Belle and Merida in the backseat.

Time to cause some mischief.

Peter landed on the front of the car. "Hello".

Cruella screamed and drove off the road into the woods. The car slammed into a tree and the trunk popped open. Belle and Merida ran out of the car, Merida grabbing her bow and arrows.

Hook leapt out of the car and pointed a gun at Peter. Bang!

Peter dodged and went flying to Hook. He kicked Hook in the hand and the gun went flying.

"You idiot!" Cruella ranted and tried to fire her gun.

Peter and Hook both ducked. Hook hooked Peter's skinny jeans with his hook. When Peter tried to fly away he was stuck.

"Now Shoot him Cruella!" Hook shouted.

"Don't command me!" Cruella aimed her gun.

Just then an arrow flew through the air knocking the gun out of Cruella's hands.

Peter turned to see Merida having just loosed an arrow.

Peter broke free of Hook, ripping his jeans. Peter kicked Hook in the face, knocking him against the tree. Hook fell on the ground with a thud, unconscious.

Merida loosed an arrow at Cruella. The mad woman screamed but the arrow only hit her coat, pinning her to a tree. Merida proceeded to shoot several more arrows, each one pinning Cruella to the tree.

"Good job! Everyone." Belle cheered.

"What can I say, I love mischief" Peter smirked.

Fa Mulan

Mulan wrenched open the metal hatch. She leapt down into the chamber and used her phone as a light. She saw below her, struggling, was Ferdinand all tied up.

"Ferdinand!" Mulan cried.

She ran to him and cut the ropes with her sword.

"We have to get you to Snow White." Mulan helped him up.

He was shaking and cold to the touch. He merely nodded.

"Don't worry, I'll protect you." Mulan clasped his hand. "Things are crazy out there."

Cinderella Tremaine

Cinderella felt a powerful dark force pushing against her mind and body. Her shoulders shook. Chernabog threatened to break her.

"You don't stand a chance weakling. I'm a mythical force. A source of divine power." Chernabog's voice echoed in her mind.

It hurt like a throbbing migraine. Tears formed in Ella's eyes.

She summoned all her strength, all her hope. Charles's touch. Aladdin's smile. Snow's giggle. Belle's smirk. Briar's grace. Bruno's loyalty. The power of everyone she loved she brought to her mind and fought back.

"So am I." She quipped and a light shot from her heart to Chernabog's. He cried out in agony.

"I will be free! And then the heavens will fall! You can't stop me." He roared and Ella almost collapsed from exhaustion but she stood strong, kept upright by the powers of light and love that surged through her veins.

Anna Arendelle

Anna raced through the forest. Her limbs were slow and weak so she tripped and fell. She forced herself up despite the biting cold wind. She had to find someone, anyone who loved her. But where would they be? She couldn't see anything through the blurry white snow.

Then, like an angel voice in a storm, she could hear Kristoff call her name. "Anna!"

"Kristoff!" Anna lit up and dragged herself, stumbling, towards Kristoff's voice.

"Anna!" She saw Kristoff striding towards her on a reindeer! She ran towards him. Maybe he did love her.

Elsa Arendelle

Elsa ran through the woods, desperate to escape that evil doctor. She turned a corner and he was there, holding a gun.

Elsa was shocked at his speed. "How did you-"

"I have my ways." The doctor grinned wickedly.

"Leave me alone." Elsa started backing away slowly.

He raised his gun. "I can't do that. I can't let you loose. It would jeopardize everything."

"I'm not going to hurt anyone if you leave me alone." Elsa replied.

"But you already have." The doctor said stone-faced and calm. "Your sister came down from the mountain weak and cold. Her hair turned white. Your sister is dead."

"No. Anna!" Elsa cried and collapsed.

Anna Arendelle

Instantly the snow storm disappeared and Anna could see Kristoff clearly. "Kristoff!' She cried and ran towards him.

Besides him ran Pocahontas.

She cried out. "Elsa!"

Anna turned to see not far beside her, Elsa, collapsed on the ground with Dr. Jafar holding a gun to her head.

"Elsa!" Anna cried and pulled herself with all her strength to her sister's side.

She didn't know how she did it, but she forced herself in between the gun and Elsa right as it went off. She felt herself grow numb and though she heard the gunshot, she didn't feel anything but cold. It all went dark.

Anna didn't know this but she was frozen to death. She had become a figure of magic solid ice that had repelled a bullet. Anna had died.

Elsa cried out in shock and horror and wept over her icy body.

Hans and Kristoff tackled Jafar down and took his gun away.

"Oh Elsa." Pocahontas said sadly.

Anna found herself in a great dark void. But there was a light, a light that looked like her mother.

"Anna." Her mother said softly.

"Mother!" Anna ran towards the light.

"Don't come closer. It's not yet your time." Her mother said.

"Am I dead?" Anna asked.

"For now yes, but not for long. You see, you saved yourself with an Act of True Love, the greatest kind of true love, the love of one who will lay down their life for their beloved. You defeated death with your love." Her mother smiled. "I'm so proud of you. We all are."

"We?"

Anna suddenly saw a whole multitude of lights. And she felt warm. Warmer than she ever had.

Then suddenly the ice sculpture of Anna began to move. Slowly the figure regained life and color.

Anna's eyes blinked open to see a weeping Elsa.

"Anna!" Elsa cried out. "You're alive! You risked your life for me."

Anna was so overwhelmed that she could only say one thing. "I love you."

"I love you too, Anna." Elsa smiled.

"That's all I've ever wanted to hear you say." Anna hugged her sister, feeling as warm as July.

No more apologies or words were needed. She felt her sister's love. They were going to be alright.

Anna looked up, to see Kristoff smiling at her and Hans pointing the gun at Dr. Jafar.

Pocahontas stepped towards them. "Don't you see Elsa, the key to controlling your powers is love."

Pocahontas smiled and Elsa grinned back.

Elsa opened her arms and the snow began to lift off the ground, floating towards the sky. The temperature grew warmer and the snow and ice all began to melt. The supernatural winter was fading away.

Elsa looked at Anna. "Thank you. Your love was the key all along."

Anna smiled, her heart warmer than ever.

Adam Prince

Adam slashed at Gaston's chest. "Leave Belle alone!"

Gaston stabbed at Adam with a hunting knife. Adam knocked the knife away with a swipe of his claws.

"Please! Don't kill me!" Gaston shrieked. "I'll do anything. Anything!"

Adam's face softened. Gaston may be a monster, but he was still a life, a human life. He couldn't just kill him.

Adam raised his powerful form off the ground.

"Leave Belle alone." He said calmly.

"Of course, of course." Gaston wriggled under Adam's paw.

Adam let go.

"Adam!" Belle's voice called.

Adam looked up to see Belle running towards him in a glorious golden ballgown.

"Belle." He smiled and bounded towards her.

She reached out her arms to him, her eyes bright and loving.

Adam felt his heart swell. He approached her, feeling hope again. Then suddenly- a sharp pain cut through his back.

He roared with pain.

Behind him, Gaston had shot him again with the rifle.

He aimed the gun again.

"Gaston, stop!" Belle pleaded.

A shining arrow zoomed out of the trees, followed by Merida, emerging from behind a tree.

The arrow shot through Gaston's hand. He cried out in pain and dropped the gun.

Adam's strength began to fade. He collapsed in the snow. Belle held him, placing his head in her lap.

"You came for me?" Adam asked.

"Of course I came for you." Belle smiled despite tears welling in her hazel eyes.

"At least I got to see you one last time." Adam sputtered, feeling his body give way.

"Don't talk like that, we're together now, everything will be fine." Belle held his paw tightly.

Adam felt his breath leaving him. He reached out to touch Belle's smooth, silky hair, but his strength left him and it all went dark.

All that he heard were these words.

"Please, please don't leave me. I love you."

With those words the darkness was replaced with blinding, multi-colored light.

Embers of colorful light fell from the sky like rain. Adam's body floated up. Light shone through his fingers and toes and face. The light transformed him back into his human self.

He fell to the ground, collapsed. But he got up, the bullet wounds were gone. He was human. He was alive. He couldn't believe it.

Belle ran over to him. "I can't believe it. It's a miracle."

"You love me." Adam smiled at her.

She nodded. "I do."

"Well, I love you too." Adam leaned in and kissed her.

Sparks flew, literally, as a wave of magic unleashed fireworks into the night sky.

Belle loved him. And that's all that mattered.

Cinderella Tremaine

Cinderella fought with all her might against Chernabog. Demons leapt out of the flames and ghosts screamed through the black sky. Charles and Tiana desperately tried to fight them back.

The snow that was on the ground began to melt and the cold wind stopped blowing. How strange.

Soon after, Ella heard fireworks in the distance and they seemed to fill her heart with light.

"Good is winning." She told Chernabog. "I just know it."

"Fool, the night still lingers. The time of my triumph is at hand." Chernabog pushed out of Bald Mountain.

Cinderella tried to push him back but he got a knee out of his prison. She was now kneeling on the mountain with his left leg. His right leg was still imprisoned in the rock.

"I'm coming for you all." He shouted in Ella's mind.

She winced.

Then breaking through the demon hordes, came a mighty bear and a tiger. It was Jasmine and Kenai!. Mulan leapt off Kenai's back and slashed through demons with her sword.

Behind her came Ferdinand sprinting to Snow White's grave. He knelt by the coffin and gently kissed her on her blood-red lips.

Snow White

Snow White sat in a sunny meadow, playing with the silver-white doe and her young fawn. Birds sang around her. She was at peace.

Then a doorway appeared. A golden arch. And a glowing hand offered itself to her. Snow looked at it, nervously. The doe nudged her towards the hand and the fawn tugged at her dress.

Snow cautiously stepped over to the hand and took it.

In that instant the meadow faded away. And her eyes blinked open. She was faced with Ferdinand who was smiling down at her.

"Ferdinand!" She stretched and opened her arms to him.

He scooped her up out of the coffin.

"I'm so happy you're okay." Ferdinand smiled.

All around them was chaos but in Ferdinand's arms, Snow felt safe.

Flynn Rider

Flynn held on tight to Aladdin's flying carpet as they flew through the stormy sky.

They flew towards Ursula's giant face which laughed with the roar of a tsunami.

"What are we doing?" Flynn shouted.

"We need to undo her shell necklace or find a way to destroy it." Aladdin shouted back. "Vanessa says that's the only way to defeat her."

"And why are we trusting Vanessa?" Flynn asked.

"Because we don't have another choice." Aladdin veered the flying carpet towards Ursula and Flynn screamed.

Flynn pulled out a pocket knife, still screaming, and leapt off of the carpet towards the shell necklace.

Aladdin flew up to her eyes. "Hey Sea Hag! Come and get me."

She swatted at him and he deftly dodged with the carpet.

Meanwhile Flynn clung to the cord of her shell necklace for dear life, even as he cut the cord with his knife.

It was hard with all her squirming and splashing around to get Aladdin but Flynn cut the cord. He held on tight as he and the shell went plummeting towards the stormy seas below.

Ariel Triton

Ariel swam to wear Flynn and the necklace were falling into the water. As she swam she saw Flynn and the shell crash into the water but then the waters parted like the Red Sea.

She saw Moana approaching where the shell stood in the sand. Flynn slid off the shell and landed in the sand as well. Ariel swam over to the wall of water and looked at Moana.

"We need to destroy this shell." Moana said calmly.

Ariel nodded. Just a trident blast, blasted at Moana who dodged the beam.

"Give me that shell!" Ursula cried.

Ariel leapt out of the water and grabbed the large shell, pulling it after her into the sea.

"You wouldn't dare destroy your precious mommy." Ursula called. "Your mommy who made all your dreams come true. Who could find a way to make you human again. Wouldn't you think she'd make a better ruler than your tyrant father?"

Ariel paused for a moment and looked up at Ursula towering over her. Ursula smiled.

"There's my little poopsie."

Just then, Ariel slammed the shell against a large rock, shattering it.

"NOOOOO!" Ursula screamed.

Lightning struck her and her entire massive form caved in on itself, Crumbling below the waves, tentacles flopping about.

The waters calmed. Ursula was defeated.

Ariel saw Aurora sitting alone on a rock and swam over to her.

"You defeated her." Briar Rose smiled. "Are you alright?"

Ariel looked towards the collapsing mass that was Ursula. "I'll find a way to be okay with this. My mother only ever wanted to use me but my dad loved me in his own way."

Briar took her hand. "I need you to help me, with your voice."

"How?" Ariel asked.

"I need you to help me sing in the dawn." Aurora held her tight.

She began to sing "Ave Maria".

Ariel knew the song from choir and began to join in.

As Aurora sang, she began to glow an orangish pink and a faint golden light could be seen on the horizon. The Eternal night was ending.

Philip Prince

The Dragon snapped at Philip with massive jaws and he dodged behind a pillar. A deathless warrior waved a mace at him but Philip cut off his arm with the Sword of Truth. Maleficent breathed a column of flame at Philip. He deflected with the Shield of Virtue but the force tossed the shield out of his hand.

He crawled on the floor as Maleficent leered over him with massive green-yellow eyes.

Taran, Eilonwy and Phoebus were striking down foes with magical attacks but the Deathless warriors were overpowering them.

Maleficent reared up to blast Philip with flame. He leapt to his feet, knowing he had just moments to live, and hurled the Sword of Truth at Maleficent.

It lodged in the Dragon's purple chest between scales. The dragon screamed and collapsed tearing down a wall of stained glass windows with her. Philip dodged out of the way.

The thorns disappeared and the Three Faeries were free. They began to blast the deathless warriors with shots of colorful magic.

Philip himself, tired and sweaty, was now weaponless. He dodged blows from the undead, letting their attack fall on his angelic armor.

He had completed his mission from God. He had killed Maleficent.

He saw the sun begin to rise. He saw Quasimodo dash up to the bell tower. He began to ring the bells.

With each clang of the bells the Horned King and his warriors writhed and shrieked. As the sun began to pour into the ruined church, the deathless warriors collapsed, lifeless, on the ground.

The Black Cauldron began to glow bright orange and fizzle.

"No, this can't be happening, the Horned King cried." As his form began to be sucked into the black cauldron, bone and cloth disintegrating.

In a few mere moments the church was still but smelt of death and decay.

Taran and Eilonwy hugged. And Phoebus ran over to Esmerlada and Quasimodo who descended from the stairs. Esmeralda kissed Phoebus.

Philip gave a sigh of relief.

Cinderella Tremaine

Cinderella saw the dawn peak over the horizon.

"Your time is over Chernabog." She smirked. "Good has won."

"NOO! I will not let my freedom be taken from me but someone as inconsequential as a girl with dreams." Chernabog shook.

"It looks like it's already been lost." She smiled.

Bells began to ring and Chernabog cried out in pain. The sunlight streamed in and his demonic armies collapsed. They returned to the pits from which they came and the ghosts returned to their graves.

"No! This can't be happening." Mayor Queen cried.

Chernabog tried to hide his eyes from the light.

"Nooo!" He whimpered as he closed his wings over his body and sunk back into the mountain. His form faded and turned to rock once again.

The long night was over and Cinderella collapsed with exhaustion.

A/N: We did it! The climax of the story. Good wins! We only have two chapters left of this story so I hope you keep reading. Thank you for all your love and support. Please comment and review. Let me know what you think!

Also I know all my chapters have song titles. This one is named after the instrumental track in Sleeping Beauty that plays when Prince Philip fights the dragon.
