Dark authority chapter 28: Power and tradition.
High minister aquamarine stood before the gems with an expression of disgust on her face.
Garnet: So your a homeworld high minister.
Corrosive: She's also a zealot for tradition.
High minister aquamarine: Your very presence scoffs our traditions, defect! And what's this, a fusion and a defected amethyst? That also spits in the face of gem tradition as well.
Amethyst: Hey don't mock me!
High minister aquamarine: Or what? You can't touch me because I have favor with white herself, I could have you shattered and I think that'll do all of us favor.
Pearl: High minister or not you can't say that!
High minister aquamarine: Oh I believe I can, you hold no authority in homeworld but I do, so I can say what I want about you crystal scum, I don't know why rose Quartz even bothered with you def-
Pearl charged enraged at high minister aquamarine but in response the high minister just dodged and removed a sword from her gem and sliced off Pearl's legs poofing Pearl.
High minister aquamarine: Pathetic.
As she was about to bring down her sword she dodged trash can thrown by Peridot.
High minister aquamarine: Redundant!
Corrosive himself then charged at the high minister who dodged and stole his guandao.
Corrosive: Hey!
High minister aquamarine: This is the weapon of gem warriors, you will not have it.
Corrosive then materialized his jamadhar and used it's kunai feature to fire and stab the high minister in the chest.
Corrosive: GET OVER HERE CLOD!
Corrosive reeled the high minister in and used the other two blades to pierce her chest and he took back his guandao.
High minister aquamarine: Give it back!
Corrosive: I made this myself!
High minister aquamarine: A defect like you knows how to forge weapons?
Corrosive: I don't trust bismuth's I make my own gear!
High minister aquamarine: Clod. You and your brother are both disgraces to all of us.
She turned around and got to a hidden speeder and she drove away.
Corrosive: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Peridot: Woah calm down.
Corrosive: That little clod walks here and disrespects me and my brother! I WILL TEAR HER GESTONE ATOM BY ATOM!
Peridot: So you want to turn her into a nuke?
Corrosive: That's how nuke's work?
Peridot shook her head and Corrosive just went and grabbed Jasper's gem and went towards mount Olympus.
*Mount Olympus*
Steven was running up the mountain when he saw a speeder coming for him. He immediately drew his sword and sliced the speeder in half launching the pilot onto the trail. Steven noticed that it was an Aquamarine but not the one he encountered, rather it was wearing a weird outfit.
High minister aquamarine: Who dares.
Steven: I will.
She recognized him after all she heard about him a lot on homeworld. After all he was quite popular there.
High minister aquamarine: Steven? Steven Universe, You're the legendary gem who descended from Pink Diamond and bubbled the cluster. You look like nothing more then a buffalo herder of this planet.
Steven: And you look like a gem I am not really fond of so looks can be deceiving.
Greg then caught up to Steven.
Greg: Steven you are coming home now!
Steven: I don't want to leave the tournament!
Greg: Yeah well I'm sorry but you are comi-
High minister aquamarine: This tournament is a sacred tradition of homeworld, to forfeit means to dishonor homeworld!
Greg: Well then I guess he's dishonoring homeworld. Steve come here now!
High minister aquamarine: He is a descendent of a diamond, he is your superior!
Greg: I don't give a crap about homeworld, he is my son!
Steven: No, I am Pink Diamond's son! I respect homeworld!
Greg: Steven I order you to come here now!
Steven began to turn red.
Malice Diamond: I am a Diamond! I don't take orders from you!
Greg: Steven this is your last warning!
Malice Diamond: I am in this, whether you like it OR NOT!
Greg: You are so grounde-
Steven pulled a sword.
Malice Diamond: Is this how you treat a Diamond!
Greg: You are my son and I-
Malice Diamond: ENOUGH, MY MOTHER IS PINK DIAMOND!
Greg flinched at that statement.
Greg: I also made you!
Malice Diamond: And you killed my mother in the process!
Greg: Still my blood flows through you.
Malice Diamond: But the blood of Pink flows stronger!
Greg was getting pissed. He then decided to take Steven by force. He began to walk up to Steven.
Malice Diamond: I am not forfeiting the tournament!
Greg removed his belt.
Greg: Yes you are!
Greg swung the belt and Steven grabbed it and pulled it reeling his father towards him and he knocked his father off balance. Steven then raised his sword and Greg saw a look of raw hatred in his eyes but when Steven brought down the sword his father saw that it was near his head.
Malice Diamond: I may hate to admit this, but you are the only real family I have left
Greg: You said-
Malice Diamond: Just leave, I need to clear m-
High minister aquamarine: What, you have to kill him!
Malice Diamond: Why?
High minister aquamarine: All outsiders who interfere in the tournament need to be executed.
Malice Diamond: But he is-
High minister aquamarine: Tradition states tha-
Steven then turned back into his normal color.
Steven: Tradition also states Diamonds and high ranking positions can grant amnesty.
High minister aquamarine: Very well then.
Steven just stared at his father.
Steven: Dad, if you really love me then you need to understand that this is a path that I'm choosing.
Greg was going to protest but then he realized that Steven could make his choices.
Greg: Fine, but we're going to have a talk when we get home.
Greg began to walk down the mountain.
*Homeworld*
The diamond mech arrived at homeworld and the diamonds stepped forward not stopping and not caring if the gems didn't do the diamond solute. They then got to a communications hub and White got on a broadcast speaker and broadcasted not only to homeworld but also to all gem controlled planets.
White Diamond on PA: All gems effective immediately your workloads have been quadrupled!
At that moment homeworld fell completely silent with the exceptions of a few gems groaning at their new load of work. White then explained that they needed more gems, better weapons and armor, better training, more ships, and negative energy superweapons and homeworld was still silent but when White told them what Antimatter told her, Yellow, and Blue nearly every gem immediately got to work researching weapons and developing new ships and training the soldiers better. So many gems decided to enlist in the army that some volunteers needed to be sent off to other worlds to be trained. More kindergartens were also beginning to produce more gems at a fast rate. The dark authority even sent some ship designs that homeworld could use (These ships include invincible class battleships and USS enterprise ships from star trek). The dark authority was also manufacturing new ships (These ships are the imperial light cruisers, executer super star destroyers, and mega class star dreadnaughts from star wars)
Yellow Diamond: Does Steven know about what's going to happen.
White Diamond: No. The boy has already been through hell due to my actions, I can't let him find out about this.
*Mount Olympus*
Greg walked down the mountain and told the gems what happened and they left. Steven was then talking to high minister aquamarine who was getting annoyed with Steven.
High minister aquamarine: So you thought a desert unlocked your powers!
Steven: Hey, I didn't know how to activate my powers and my powers activated the times when I ate it.
High minister Aquamarine: Every gem from an early age masters their powers. Were you not trained when you first formed?
Steven: No, it was a few years later when I started my training.
The high minister facepalmed at that statement, not only did this diamond mock tradition by thinking his sacred powers came from an insignificant desert but was also aware of and trained by rebels.
High minister aquamarine: How could you even stand by the ones who shattered your mother.
Steven: But Pink Diamond is Rose.
High minister aquamarine: SHE'S WHAT!
Steven: SHe's Rose.
High minister Aquamarine: You know tradition states that all gem traitors and their power bases need to be destroyed, that includes every gem on her side!
Steven was about to pull his shield when a kunai flew in the air aiming for the high minister's face but she dodged and looked to see Corrosive and Japser.
High minister aquamarine: So you break another tradition, harboring a defect!
After that Jasper reformed.
Jasper: You clod! why did you poof me!
High minister aquamarine: Oh good, it'll save me the trouble.
Jasper turned around and saw high minister aquamarine.
Jasper: Fuck!
High minister aquamarine: You were part of Pink's court, and Pink was Rose and as per tradition you and the rest of Pink Diamond's former court need to be shattered.
Jasper: What? Look I'm all for tradition but that's overdoing it. I was part of homeworld and I personally fought rose!
High minister aquamarine: Your excuses will get you no where.
Jasper: I wasn't making an excuse, I was explaining what happened.
High minister aquamarine: EXCUSES EXCUSES, I'M GOING TO SHATTER YOU!
Jasper: I am trying to be reasonable.
High minister aquamarine: There are no such thing as reasons, they're just excuses!
Jasper and Corrosive: FUCK YOU!
High minister aquamarine: Insults? Be good gems and I'll shatter you quickly.
Steven: But the tournament rules say-
High minister aquamarine: The tournament rules state that gem criminals who enter can be shattered.
Corrosive charged forward and knocked the high minister off the ledge of the mountain.
Jasper: Normally I'm not one for punching officials but she got what she fucking deserved.
The rest of the three walked up the mountain but they then came across a group of three peridots.
Peridot soldier: Hey it's the traitors!
Corrosive: What?
Peridot soldier: High minister aquamarine has declared you traitors.
Corrosive: We aren't traitors!
Peridot soldier: The high minister says all gems who don't try to apprehend will be labeled as criminals.
Corrosive: ENOUGH TALKING LETS FIGHT AND GET THIS OVER WITH!
Corrosive materialized his jamadhar and began to charge menacingly at one of the peridots who began to magnetically levitate him due to his armor being metal so Corrosive was flailing in the air. Jasper charged but was blocked by a peridot who was wielding a dagger. Steven charged at the other peridot who also materialized a dagger and they began swinging at the two.
Steven: You don't have to do this!
Peridot soldier: I know but I want to live!
Corrosive: Look, high minister aquamarine is a gem who thinks that she is good enough to boss us all around but in reality her title means nothing, she is just a normal gem.
Peridot soldier: Look we don't want to be named as criminals-
Corrosive shot his kunai into the chest of the peridot causing her to release him and he charged and sliced the peridot in half poofing the her. Corrosive was then stabbed in the abdomen by a peridot but he just growled and lifted up the peridot and slammed her back onto his leg poofing the gem. Jasper dodged the Peridot's dagger that was thrown at her and Steven jumped on Jaspers back and bounced off it and slammed into the Peridot poofing her.
Steven: Okay now we have a problem.
Jasper: Yeah, that high clod just decides to make us criminals.
Corrosive: Well then good thing we have the artifacts, all we need to do is win the tournament and then go expose her.
Steven: Yes.
The three then got up to the peak of mount olympus and grabbed the yellow diamond shaped artifact and they instantly got a message saying where the white artifact is.
Corrosive: Boy, we are leaving for Rome.
