Wasn't interested in her random prattling? Is that what he called her desperation to seek help? Seriously?! It took all of her restraint not to stand up and smack him, but she held back. No… she quite liked her head where it was and spared him a dirty glance. Talk about rude! "I'll pretend I didn't hear that… Look, since you're in a hurry to play Lord of the Western Lands, could you point me to Kaede's Village?"
But he only blinked at her.
"I'll be out of your hair in an instant if you tell me. I know you know who she is. You left Rin with her that last time we saw each other," Kagome said, clarifying.
"Rin?"
The simple inquiry left her muted. What? Was he serious right now? Then again, Sesshomaru wasn't one to joke, especially with a human who he viewed as insignificant. Something was wrong. "Yeah… Rin. The little human girl you sheltered."
"Nonsense! For what reason would I care for a child, much less a human? Are those the rumors that have spread throughout your village? Preposterous!"
Your attitude is preposterous… Kagome cleared her throat. Okay. For whatever reason, he refused to accept this knowledge, which left her pondering more. "So, you don't know Rin or Kaede? What about Sango and Miroku?" When he failed to respond, she tried again. "Inuyasha?"
Now that caught his attention, and he turned. Those molten amber eyes changed in that instant, and she stepped back. "What was that?"
Thunder boomed overhead, and the wind swept her ebony locks about her face and shoulders. Her legs buckled under the weight of his glare, and that confidence to confront him had vanished. "I-Inu… yasha?"
Sesshomaru stepped closer and lifted a clawed hand, a wrist void of any markings which she had known during a previous time. Something was wrong. Sesshomaru not only seemed younger, but it was as if he was completely different, aside from his threatening exterior.
"Who are you to know that name? Only those of the royal family are familiar with it!"
And the rain fell, none too gently either, and unable to stand her ground, she collapsed on her knees, trembling at the sight of his intimidating stature. Did… I cross the line just now? Why is he so angry?
What the hell was going on?!
