Chapter 28

The Targaryen King and his family could only stare in awe at the sight before them. For hundreds of years, the Dragon was the symbol of power and authority across the world. The Valyrians pride themselves on being the ones who conquer such beasts. To tame them, and to use magic forgotten by the world to build an empire to last a thousand years. However, while it was true, they could tame dragons and built an empire that lasted centuries upon centuries. It was the past, a forgotten tale of wonders. The Targaryen family were the last dragon lords left in the world. And the power they once held was long gone.

So, to see now, before them, a dozen dragons of different sizes roaming around free and untamed was a surprise. Yet, a few of them weren't as a surprise as the rest. The magic and the power of the Nazarick Empire and the Supreme One were something just beyond anything they could think of.

Aegon could feel it, deep inside of him something was stirring. What it was? The sensation of excitement rushing through his blood, as if the dragons before him were whispering to him. Could this be what my family calls dragon blood? The awakening of something old? Aegon thought, wondering what could all mean.

"Aegon, do you feel it?" Viserys asked.

"The sensation inside of me? Yes, I felt it," Aegon said. "Did you felt the same Daenerys, Jon?" He asked.

"I don't know what I felt, but there was something burning in my blood," Jon said.

"Yes, I felt it the first time I saw them. A burning sensation deep inside. At first I was afraid, but then it became peaceful I don't know how to explain it. Words cannot express what I felt, but I guess you know what I'm trying to say to you, don't you?" Daenerys said.

"I understand it, there is no need for you to explain me."

"Aegon? What does that mean?" Elia asked.

"I don't know how to explain it, mother. Truthfully, it's not something bad or painful, just a strange feeling that I can't tell you how does it feel."

"I see…" Said, Elia.

"Well, those are dragons…" Ser Gerold of Hightower said.

"They are," Ser Whent said.

"There are so many of them," Ser Arthur said.

"How many are they?" Aegon asked.

Aegon looked at the fountain where he saw a few small dragons flying around near a big one. The entire place was inside one of the inactive volcanos. From what Aegon could see, they morphed the place into a type of sanctuary of sorts. There was a golden waterfall and blue trees with red fruit. What purpose does it serve? Aegon didn't know, but the dragon ate them. Maybe those rare fruits were magical, who knows? However, he won't deny how beautiful the place was. The peace serves the dragon well.

"I can answer that!"

The group saw a young girl landing before them. The dark skin and strange eye colors showed who she was. Aura, one guardian of the Supreme One. The girl had a wicked smile, it's been almost two decades, and she was finally showing some curves. Although she still had short hair and a tomboyish look. Aura was becoming a beautiful young woman. Even Shalltear would admit how attractive Aura looked. The dark elf was already taller than Shalltear normal form, and for the looks of it, Aura's chest would overshadow Shalltear soon. Something the poor true vampire fears with every fiber of her body. Adding that Aura also dressed more feminine, with a white skirt instead of pants, and two long boots reaching her inner thighs. And you have a good-looking girl.

"Hello everyone and welcome to my dragon farm! Please don't be shy they don't bite!" Aura said smiling.

"I'm not sure about that," Elia murmured.

"Don't worry, princess Elia, they are docile," Daenerys said.

"Oh, hello there aunt Aura!" Nasha said waving at her honorary aunt.

Aura smiled at the Imperial Princess. "Ah, yes, before I forget, there are currently 36 dragons!" Aura said.

Everyone could not believe it, for them, that number of dragons was incredible.

"36 dragons, but some of them are small right?" Aegon said.

"That's right, as you can see now. Only four of them are mature enough to lay eggs, the rest are from ages of two years-old to five months-old. For what I know, some dragon grow faster than others," Aura said.

"Oh, and why is that, lady Aura?" Aegon asked.

"Mm, from our experimentation, the dragon from this world, well, Wyvern as I knew them before arriving here. They seemed to bond with someone, and they will grow up depending on that person's inner magic."

"Wait, our records said that Dragons, well, Wyvern as you call them, never stop growing," Viserys asked.

"And they don't, but how fast they grow is another thing entirely."

"Ah, lady Aura, could you explain it to me? I don't understand the whole bonding thing," Daenerys said in a shy tone.

Aura stared at the young princess with an unusually friendly smile. Normally she wouldn't care to explain it to them. In fact, even after all these years, Aura was still unbothered by their presence. It was not like she hated them or anything. For her, they were just, there. For Aura, they were just humans who were useful for her lady and nothing more. Sure, she like the rest of the guardians had learned about how useful they could be, how much they could do for the good of the empire, and their lady's will, but besides that, nothing has changed. However, some brought interest to her, and by them, Aura means the Targaryen princesses.

From what she knew, Daenerys and Rhaenys both were to become future wives of the Imperial princesses. Meaning they were, soon, to become mothers of the Supreme Grandchildren. That's why she considered them more special than the rest. Well, Aura liked both of them, if just a tiny bit. Now that she thought about it, Missandei was one of the other few humans who she found tolerable. I like her a lot more than the rest, maybe because she was so fun to be around when she was a little girl. Mm, she is fun.

"Well, as you know, the Dragon Lords of old Valyria could tame dragons and used magic to bond with them. So, you as a Targaryen have the same magic in your blood."

"Do I have to give my blood to a dragon to bond with it?" Daenerys asked with a worried face.

"Eh, no necessarily, the Wyvern, well Dragons can feel it already. The only thing you need to to approach one and see if it choose you. I don't know what would you feel, but it won't hurt! So please see if a dragon accepts you, don't worry, they won't hurt anyone of you!"

The rest weren't looking so sure about it, yet they trusted her.

"Aegon?"

"Don't worry, mother, I believe it's an excellent opportunity to test it out," Aegon said.

"Your grace, be careful," Ser Whent said.

Aegon sighed as he approached the swarm of dragons. Slowly but surely, the King of Westeros felt as if the dragons were observing him. As if they were scrutinizing his very soul. One of the biggest dragons there grunted in his direction, and he felt shivers at the sound of the gigantic beast roaring. But he stood his ground.

"Aegon!" Elia called, as she couldn't help herself be afraid of his son's life.

"Your grace!" Ser Arthur and the rest were of the same mind.

However, Aura kept on smiling unbothered by the concern.

One of the youngest dragons, a red one who by the looks of it, could be around one-year-old. Stared at Aegon with a challenging look. Testing his resolve, Aegon felt as if was time to show who he was, and with the same intensity, he glared back at the dragon.

"Oh, that's good! Keep on doing it!" Aura said.

Both Aegon and the red dragon glared at each other for long minutes, then with no warning. The dragon spread his wings and let a magnificent roar while spitting fire. The Kingsguard were ready to protect their king from any danger, but they were suddenly stopped by Daenerys.

"No!" She said. "You are going to ruin it!"

"But…!"

"It's fine, everything, it's fine," Aegon said.

Everyone then saw how the red dragon was licking his fingertips. Letting a soft growl, enjoying the new connection of his rider.

"Congratulation! The dragon has accepted you as his rider! That's incredible. Now who is next?" Aura asked with a smile.

"Aegon, are you alright?" Elia asked.

Aegon smiled at the strange feeling inside him. As if the dragon before him could feel his excitement, or maybe Aegon was feeling the dragon's excitement. Who knows? Yet, things were going to be more different from now on. "Don't worry, mother, all it's fine." He said.

"Alright, let's keep going then! Who is next?!" Aura said as the rest could only stare at each other with worried faces.

"Jon, why don't you go first?" Daenerys asked.

"Me? I don't know…" Jon replied.

"Go on, Jon. You're a Targaryen too," Aegon said.

Jon couldn't help himself but feel pride at the way his half-brother, the king, referred to him. Another Targaryen, he was not a bastard, he never was. Lyanna his mother, while holding the hand of Elia looked at him with pride and happiness, the acceptance of the family too overjoyed her. "You can do it, Jon. I believe in you," She said.

With care and taking Aegon's example, Jon took his time to walk to the swarm of baby dragons. Again, they glared at him with suspicion and intrigue. Yet none of them moved to him, a strange scene without a doubt. However, those dragons did not intimidate him, not one bit. Jon kept on walking with no fear, and soon enough, a young dragon landed before him, spreading his wings.

"Wow, it's gorgeous, Jon!" Daenerys said.

Jon agreed with his aunt, as he too couldn't shake the feeling of wonderment at the sight of such a beauty. The dragon was snow-white, with deep golden eyes and a long spiky tail. For the looks of it, it seemed as old as Aegon dragon.

"Hello there, my name is Jon."

The snowy dragon glared at him for a few seconds, sniffing him and taking his time to inspect him. Jon felt strange as he stared at those golden eyes. Something was going on inside of him, but he was not sure of what could that be. However, whatever worries flooded his mind, disappeared the moment the dragon licked his fingers, so with a gigantic smile, Jon accepted his new companion.

"Well done, Jon!" Aegon said.

"Now you have dragon too! Nasha can I have mine, now?" Daenerys asked.

"Alright, let's find your dragon!"

While everyone seemed to be thrilled by what was going on. Lyanna breathed in relief as she saw her son caressing a dragon. The worst has passed, but she was still afraid for her son. Things were only beginning, and that's why she was so terrified of them.

At the throne room, Galadriel Melkor, the Supreme One and the Empress of the Nazarick Empire stared at her daughter with a confused look on her face. Well, it was not a confused face, but more of an "I can't believe my daughter did all of that" face.

"Then, I used [Mass Starvation] with [Implosion], even thought I was not sure of how they would react. But then, everyone of them moaned loudly as the horse went Pum! Like, I don't know why, but the horses exploded for some reason, but it was so funny! And then, I laughed about how insignificant they were, just like uncle Demiurge told me to, and killed them all!"

"You should have seen her, my beloved! Our dear child annihilated them with the force and grace of a true Vampire!" Shalltear said.

"I see, did you have fun?" Galadriel asked.

"Yes, I truly had a lot of fun and I also learned a lot."

"That's good to hear my dear."

Bathory allowed herself to show a side of her that few people could see, and it was the young girl who seeks the approval of her mother more than anything else. She blushed but kept a smile on her face. "Are you proud, mother?" Bathory asked in a shy voice.

Galadriel stared dumbfounded at the sudden question. Of course, she was proud of her daughter. Why wouldn't she? The demon empress was still learning how to show more affection to her family, and how to be the best mother she could, but there sometimes, that she was not sure how to show her love for them. Everything was an unfamiliar experience for her, but even though she was unsure how to proceed in some scenarios. Galadriel refused to not show love for all of her children.

"Bathory, why would I be proud of you?" Galadriel asked gently.

"Well, it's just that… I don't know," Bathory muttered.

"My dear, never think otherwise. I love you, and I'm proud of you. Always remember that," Galadriel said as she took her daughter's hand. Bathory sobbed, and she was not the only one. Shalltear sobbing with her, captivated by how much love her lady showed to her child.

"Okay," Bathory replied softly.

"Now, tell me more of what you did!" Galadriel said, encouraging her daughter to tell her more. The Demon Empress wanted to make sure that Bathory knows she would be always here for her. That no matter how busy she may be, there would be always time for her.

"Oh, well, I did as you told me and noted every type of combination I could use there!"

"Great job! Now tell me, what did you feel while using the Javelin? Did you like it?"

"I love it, Mother! It's amazing and beautiful! It fits perfectly in my hands! Thanks for making it!" Bathory said happily.

"Only the best for you, although your uncle Cocytus and uncle Mare did a lot of work on it. Don't forget to thank them later too," Galadriel said.

"I will!"

Galadriel listened to Bathory for an hour straight. It was something she has never grown tired of, to just sit there with a smile on her face, to listen to her daughter's crazy histories and joys. But it ended when a servant arrived with news. Galadriel just like her daughter and Shalltear changed completely their postures. From a relaxed and joyful one to a more strict and cold one.

"What is it?" Galadriel asked.

"Your majesty, please forgive me for interrupting. But we receive news from Lady Lupusregina. The Starks seek an audience with you," The homunculus maid said with a bow.

"Mm, I see now."

"What do they want?" Bathory muttered, annoyed and angry at the fact some humans dared to interrupt her time with her beloved mother.

"It's alright, my dear. Although I wonder why Lupusregina didn't use [Message] again. Arwen also likes to write to me instead of using it. You too Bathory, and your sister, Luthien as well. Why is that?" Galadriel wondered.

"Ah, about that, we can of like it more?" Bathory said in a sheepish tone.

"How so?"

"Well, mother it's always busy. So, instead of using [Message] we write. It makes things easier and, well, sometimes we want to express what we feel. Letters are perfect for it. You don't like it?" Bathory whispered.

"Oh… That's why."

"Do you want us to stop?" Bathory said.

"No, I don't. Please kept on doing it."

"We will!"

"Alright, it's time to see what they want. Please inform Albedo I request her presence in the Throne room. Bathory be a dear and please take care of Eowyn meanwhile. It's almost time she wakes up from her nap, you know how she gets very grumpy."

Bathory groaned at the idea of taking care of her little sister but obeyed. "I will do so, mother."

Galadriel gave Bathory a soft kiss on the forehead and gently patted her head. "Let's have a picnic later on. What do you say? I want to spend time with my family." She said smiling.

"Won't you be busy?" Bathory asked.

"For my family? Never."
