Author's Note: This is the last chapter I can't bear myself to write about James and Lily's death even though it would go really well with the song In My Life but, I feel like this is a good ending

Chapter 28- All My Loving- Final chapter

It had been a little over a year since James and Lily got married their marriage was going strong and they were both active members of the Order of the Phoenix. Most of the time they went on missions together but, lately James had been called to missions with Sirius and Lily would be home by herself. James had only been home for two weeks after being away for two weeks when that night he was going to be leaving again. It was killing James to leave Lily at home, and he had asked Dumbledore if he and Lily could go on a mission together but, Dumbledore had been very adamant that he would be going with Sirius. So tonight, he was going to have to leave Lily again. He couldn't bear leaving Lily because he wasn't sure if he went and told Lily he would be able to leave so when they went to sleep James got up and got ready to leave. Leaving a kiss on Lily's forehead but being gentle and hopefully wouldn't wake Lily.

Lily knew that James was bound to leave on another mission soon and it was killing her not to be able to join James on these missions but, there were other things that she had to do at home she was going to tell James the next day about why she wasn't able to go on any missions anymore. She felt James stir and get out of the bed she knew that James was going on another mission. Lily felt James press a kiss on her forehead. She was so frustrated by not being able to go out that when James was getting ready, she went out to confront him.

"James Potter you are not going anywhere." Lily told him.

James turned around and looked at Lily looking sheepish he had really hoped that Lily wouldn't notice that he was leaving.

"I'm so sorry Lils I have to go Sirius is counting on me." James responded.

"You're not leaving me home alone again I can't bear it without you." Lily said with tears forming in her eyes.

"I'm really sorry but I have to go I've asked Dumbledore to let you on missions, but he wouldn't let you go." James said trying to reason with Lily.

"I don't care about Sirius or Dumbledore please just don't leave me alone tell Dumbledore that you aren't able to go." Lily said with tears threatening in her eyes.

"Lily what's wrong?' James asked as he moved to hug Lily.

Lily wouldn't meet James's eyes as she buried her face in James's chest. She wouldn't answer James's question either.

"Lily, tell me what's going on? I know somethings wrong why won't you tell me?" James asked.

"I'm scared that you're not going to come back to me. That you'll get badly hurt" Lily said still not meeting his eyes.

"Oh, Lily nothing's going to happen to me I have Sirius to look out after me." James said as he hugged Lily.

"No, how do I know that you're going to come back to me alive I refuse to be raising a child without their father." Lily yelled at James.

"Wait Lily you're pregnant?" James asked.

"Yes, I'm pregnant James but I refuse to raise our child by myself." Lily said with tears falling out of her eyes

"I'm sorry Lily I still have to go but I promise to you that I will come back to you and you won't have to raise our child by yourself." James said as he lifted Lily's head and placed a kiss on her lips. "Now let's get you back to bed and I'll sing you a song." James told Lily as she nodded her head.

James tucked in Lily to bed and started to sing to her.

By this time Lily had fallen asleep and James once again placed a kiss on her forehead and left to go on his mission.

It had been a couple of weeks and James still hadn't returned but James was able to send a couple of letters to Lily while he was away and signed them all with "all my loving" Lily found little solace in these letters but had a lot of hope. It was hard for Lily not to go with James but, she knew that she had to keep her baby safe.

That night James had returned home immediately when James got home, he went to their bedroom to find Lily sleeping he kissed her on her forehead and went to sleep beside her. Lily woke up to find that James had come in while she was sleeping and that he was beside her. Lily was so excited that she jumped and James and gave him a kiss to wake James up. James stirred and kissed Lily back.

"I came back to you all safe and sound. I'm not going anywhere we'll be together forever I promise" James said as he kissed Lily again.

It was at this moment that they were all each other needed and their kid that was coming around and that was all my loving that James and Lily needed.
