Chapter 28 - The Damn Suits

The Doctor, Pete, Rose and Genie all rode back to the flat in a limo with the Quauhtin. Genie slept in Rose's arms. The Doctor was happy that Genie had finally warmed up enough to her and Pete that he wasn't the only one she wanted now. He sat on the bench and looked down at her as she slept.

Pete poured himself a drink and handed the Doctor glass of the damn whiskey.

"Rose, want some wine or something?" Pete offered.

"Nah, just some water." she asked.

The Doctor rubbed his head and cleared his throat. "I've gotta tell you both. I had a dream last night. It had a warning in it about... stuff."

Pete drank his whiskey. "What sort of warning? Is this some of that strange, stuff you and Rose are able to do?"

The Doctor chuckled. "Yeah, sortof. And it wasn't very clear. I've already talked to Shakes and the guys about it, and they are on high alert. But, I felt it necessary to discuss it with you lot as well. Jackie doesn't need to know."

Pete asked. "So, just a warning?"

"Yeah, it was very unclear. Like these things usually are. Something about the entity that has been protecting us has been doing it recently because she wanted me to be happy."

Rose looked at him, questionability. "Bad Wolf?"

"Well, you two are one in the same so I imagine you are involved in this even if you don't realize it."

Rose shook her head and looked down at Genie.

Pete looked over at her. "Rose, we need to face this. There are strange things at work here."

Rose continued to watch Genie sleep. "No. I really don't want to talk about it."

The Doctor sighed. "Okay, well. We'll talk about that later, Rose. But, she said that she had done as much as she could for the moment and we needed to be careful."

"That's it? Just be careful?" Pete asked.

"She said that Rose and Genie would need me worse than they ever have in the next few days. That makes me think it's something to do you with you, Jackie or Tony." the Doctor told him.

Pete rubbed his chin, deep in thought. "You trust her, Doc?"

He tossed his hands in the air. "She's never been dishonest with me before. I have to believe her. She's half of Rose. I trust Rose with everything. So, I mostly trust this."

Pete shook his head. "Ah, be careful. Whatever. We're already being careful! I'm not going to worry so much about it."

Rose suddenly remembered. "Dad! Settle an argument with me and him."

The Doctor looked surprised at her. "What argument? I'm not aware of any argument?"

Pete tossed up his hands. "No! Not getting in the middle of any domestic drama. No way! I have enough of my own problems."

Rose laughed. "Okay, argument is the wrong word. He says that chess doesn't exist here. He asked me to ask you."

The Doctor laughed. "Oh! That!"

Pete looked confused. "What? A chest?"

The Doctor explained, "No, no. Chess. It's a game. You play it on a board with pieces like Checkers or Draughts."

Pete looked confused, "What's Checkers? No, I've never heard of any of these."

The Doctor smiled and looked at Rose. "Ha! Told you! I'm going to patent that! I am brilliant at that game! Not as good as K-9 was, but we won't go there."

Rose rolled her eyes at him. "K-9 was a tin dog!"

The Doctor looked offended. "K-9 had feelings. He would be insulted being called that!"

Pete looked questionability at them both. "Sometimes, I hear you two talk and just wonder if you are both completely mad. I need another drink."

Pete took the limo onto Torchwood after the Doctor, Rose and Genie were dropped off with a couple of the Quauhtin. The Doctor carried Genie into the building. She was still sleeping. When they got into the lift, he looked down at her and asked Rose. "Do children this age still have to sleep a bit during the day?"

Rose shook her head. "Tony doesn't. But he is a live wire. We need to probably start working time for her to sleep into her daily schedule."

"Yeah, we should. I imagine she needs it. She almost sleeps as much as you used to." he winked at her.

Rose smiled at him. "Watch it, Old Man."

"Old Man." he mocked her and laughed.

The lift dinged as they got to their floor. Rose opened the door for them. The Doctor took Genie into her bedroom and Rose helped him tuck her in. It was still raining, so there was no need to pull the curtain back.

They walked back into their bedroom. Rose had already taken off her shoes and was walking through the flat in her bare feet.

"What are you planning to do this afternoon?" Rose asked him. "It's almost 4:00, everyone will be here is a few hours."

"He looked at her. I'm changing out of this suit first and foremost! I'm serious, Rose. I will never wear it again." he walked through their bathroom and into the closet. Rose followed him. She stood in the double doorway, watching him undress.

"Sweetheart. What's going on?" she asked him.

"Nothing, Rose. I'm alright. Don't worry about me." He told her.

Rose laughed under her breath. "No, you're not. I can feel your emotions. It's so much stronger since we joined our minds. I think you must have been shielding it at first."

He sighed loudly. "Ugh. Damn it."

"Talk to me. What's wrong?"

"I'm not talking to you until I get out of this suit." he demanded.

"Okay. Toss it out here!" Rose told him.

Suddenly, his jacket, pants and tie came flying out of the closet. Rose bent over to pick them up. The Doctor suddenly walked out of the closet past her with his arms full of some more suits, still on the hangers. He was wearing his jeans, t-shirt and a white oxford.

Rose carried the other suit and walked behind him. He walked down the hall and into the kitchen. Rose was shocked when he opened the rubbish bin and tossed the suits inside. He looked so angry. Rose stood there watching him as he pushed them into the rubbish bin. He finished and looked over to her.

"Oh! Yes! That one as well. Thank you, Rose." he said as he took the suit he had just been wearing and tossed in the rubbish bin.

He walked back to the bedroom rubbing his hand through his hair. Rose could feel his anger.

She turned and followed him. She found him laying on the sofa in their bedroom. He was barefoot and rubbing his face.

Rose walked over to him and sat down. She raised his head up and put it in her lap. She ran her fingers through his hair and felt him immediately calm down.

"What's wrong? You can tell me." Rose asked him.

"Rose. Answer me honestly. If you could choose, knowing everything that would have happened. Would you have picked me or him?"

"What on earth has got you thinking about this again? I thought we were past this." Rose asked him.

He patted her hand that she lay on his chest. "No, please sweetheart. Just tell me. Really. If he was to pop back in this dimension today, finally here to rescue you. Would you leave me and go off with him and the TARDIS?"

Rose could feel his heartbreak. "I can't even believe you would ask me that. After everything we have been through. It's you. You know it's you. Not him. He is the one that stranded us both here. He left you here, knowing you would die in mere months. I'm so angry with him, you can't even imagine!"

He looked up at her. "You are?"

Rose gritted her teeth. "Oh, my god I am. He knew, and he didn't tell either one of us. He just dropped us both off here, didn't even wave good-bye and took off. He left us believing we would have a lovely, human life together. Ha! Well, the jokes on him isn't it? We will have a really long, beautiful life together. He can just kiss my ass."

The Doctor was shocked to hear Rose talk like this about the other Doctor. "If he kisses any part of you, I'll just have another reason to kill him!"

Rose laughed, which made the Doctor laugh. He covered his face with his hand.

"Oh, I'm sorry Rose. It's just... the Bad Wolf told me last night that she was sending someone that could help us. Someone from the Prime Dimension. He was the first person I thought of. She said you needed to get forgiveness. I started to worry what would happen if you saw him again. Worried that would leave me."

Rose ran her hands through his hair. "Sweetheart, I'm yours. Not his. I was never his. He was a coward. He never told me how he felt. He left me here and ran away. You stopped running and have stayed with me. Why do you think I would ever let him turn my head? I know you feel like you are competing with a ghost. With Genie thinking you are her old Daddy, and me thinking you are the old Doctor. Sweetheart, it's just not true. I love you. Not him. I am marrying you. Not him. You are my everything. Not him. You are your own person. My other half. Don't ever think you are any less. You are so much more. You are the Doctor. In my mind, more than he is. The one who is helping so many people here. But, mostly me and that little girl sleeping in the next room. I could never imagine my life without you. Please know that you never have to worry about that."

He raised up on the sofa and turned to face Rose. He looked her in the eyes as he cupped his hands on her face. He had tears in his eyes. "You really mean it?"

Rose smiled at him as she put her hands on his beard and continued to look him in the eyes. "Sweetheart, I know you have been hurt worse than anyone ever has. I would never lie to you. I will never add to that hurt. I know you can feel how sincere I am. I'm yours, forever. I love you more than anyone ever has loved anyone."

He smiled at her. "I love you, so much my Nehyta."

Rose smiled back at him. "We'll get you some suits and stuff you like. I have to say, I love you in a three piece suit." she told him as she bit her bottom lip.

He smiled at her, "I love it when you chat about physics to me."

She laughed, "I doubt you have ever used that line, before!"

He laughed at her, "Yep! That's honestly the first time!"

He leaned in and kissed her. She started to run her hands through his hair as he ran his hands down her body.

The phone rang, interrupting their snog.

'Let it ring.' Rose begged him.

He smiled as he continued to kiss her as he ran his hand into this pocket to get his phone. 'Does anyone ever call your phone anymore?'

She laughed at him as he pulled his head back and answered the phone.

"The Doctor here!" he said very cheerfully. Rose smiled, happy he was feeling better. He rubbed her thigh under her dress as she sat in front of him on the sofa.

"Well, hello there Doctor!" Harriet Jones' voice said on the other end. "Is it a good time?"

The Doctor looked at Rose who lay her jacket in the floor and was teasing him by unbuttoning the front of her dress. "Well, it's always good to hear from you Harriet Jones!"

Rose nodded her head to show she knew who he was talking to. She slipped off her dress and lay it on the floor.

He rubbed his hand through his hair and cleared his throat. "Um.. Yes. Tonight. Come on over!"

Rose slipped off her nylons, raised them in front of his face and dropped them. He rubbed his face as he bit his lip.

"Yes! They will be here at 7:00. We'll order a pizza or something! Yes, Genie would love to see you!" the Doctor told Harriet

Rose climbed on top of his lap, and started to unbutton his shirt.

"Yes, that's really nice, Harriet. She's doing alright." he said.

Rose took off her bra.

The Doctor nearly dropped his phone. "Ugh. Yeah, sorry. No, that's alright."

Rose raised up and rubbed her breasts in his face.

"Oh! Oh, my god! Yeah. Umm... Harriet. Something has came up! Let me finish this tonight! See you then!"

He didn't give her a chance to say bye. He ended the call and threw his phone on the coffee table.

"You are the meanest woman I've never met!" he told Rose as he grabbed her and lay her down on the couch. He rubbed her breasts as he kissed her.

'Something has came up, indeed. Show me what came up that had to get you off of that phone call, my dear.' Rose teased him in his head.

'I can't believe you did that.' he told her as he took off his shirts and tossed them on the floor.

"Wait! Children in this place! I have to lock the door!" he suddenly remembered and ran over to close the double doors and locked them. He ran back to the couch, took off his jeans and lay back down on top of Rose.

They began their snogging again. 'Oh, a mean, mean woman I have here.' he said in her head.

She smiled under his kisses. "You like it."

"Oh, I really do!" he told her. "And I'll be completely enjoying it tonight when you explain to the President of the People's Republic of Great Britain why I suddenly had to get off the phone."

Rose laughed at him. "Whatever. Harriet wouldn't care!"

He laughed back at her. "I'm kidding! Really, don't tell her! Oh, I couldn't look at her!"

He continued to kiss her. Rose giggled as he pulled down her knickers and then took off his pants. She grabbed him an put him inside of her as she moaned.

'No super sensitive trick. Child sleeping in the next room. No.' Rose told him in his head.

'I'll be good. Don't worry.' he reassured her.

He stroked slowly as he kissed her. She ran her hands through his hair.

'Oh, yes. Keep that up.' he told her.

'You and your hair.' she teased him.

He smiled. 'You like my hair.'

'Of course I do.'

He continued to kiss her. As she started to moan, he began to kiss her neck. She could feel his hot breath all over her skin.

He started to stroke inside of her again.

He could still feel her pleasure. She could feel his.

'Have you ever been this happy in your life, Rose?'

'Never. Don't think for one minute you're ever getting rid of me. I don't care who shows up at the door.'

He smiled, 'I'm so sorry. I've never been like that. I don't know what came over me.'

'We all have our moments. Don't even think you have to apologize for anything.' Rose told him.

He smiled. 'You are precious. More than any gem.'

'A gem, like in a crown of Royalty? How many gems are in that crown, Old Man?'

'One thing at a time, woman. Give me five minutes.'

Five, hell. It can wait longer than that!' Rose teased him.

He shook his head and laughed. "Oh, this mean woman of mine!"

He was finished seven minutes later. Both of them were covered in sweat. He kissed her on the end of the nose. "Let's go jump in the shower before the little one gets up."

He helped her up off of the couch and they walked into the bathroom. He turned on the shower and got it going the temperature he preferred.

Rose smiled. "I have something I need to chat with you about. And I'm worried how you will take it."

He wrapped his arms around her. "Rose there is nothing you can ever say that will make me angry. Don't worry about that."

"You mentioned this morning that you would like to try to put a time something on your watch."

He nodded his head. "Yeah, I've thought about it. I'd have to get a bigger watch though. The time circuit would take up a lot more room."

Rose looked up at him. "Can I ask you to not do it?"

He looked puzzled. "Not do it? Why?"

Rose took his hand and lead him into the shower.

Rose looked at him. "Are you cross?"

He chuckled as the water ran all over his head. "No, sweetheart. I'm not. I'm just confused. Why would you ask me not to do that?"

Rose wrapped her arms around him. "I'm scared I'll lose you. What if you accidently jump a few days ahead of where you intend to? Genie and I just sitting here waiting on you to come home. When we were on the TARDIS and you got it wrong, it wasn't a big deal because we traveled together. But, you would be traveling alone. Without us. What is something went wrong?"

He reached around and grabbed her shampoo. "Huh."

"You're not angry, are -"

"No. I'm not." he told her as he washed her hair.

She heard him say, "Huh." again as she rinsed her hair. "A Time Lord that doesn't travel in time. Interesting." he mumbled.

She shook her head as she rinsed the shampoo out. "Your TARDIS will be grown up in a few years, you've not mentioned it. Is she happy to be back in London?"

"Phh... as if I'd know. She's still giving me the damn silent treatment. She's still growing well though. I'm probably going to have to get Genie or you to help me with her."

Rose shampoo'ed his hair for him. "So, you running your hands through your hair all of the time?"

"Yes?" he asked her.

She laughed at him. "What is that about?"

He smiled. "Nothing, why?"

Rose looked at him.

"Seriously! Hey! I ordered us a stereo. Surround sound for the bedroom and sitting room. I have that playlist you asked for."

Rose looked at him funny. "What playlist?"

He smiled as he held her close. "My shagging playlist. We'll try it out and you can try to get that number out of me. I'm telling you, my dear. You'll never get it out of me. No matter what you do."
