Chapter 28: The Gym Leader of Spikemuth
Ash and Alice are continuing to show the group around the school grounds, they notice an Absol rushing towards them as he hugs Ash. Ash smiles and says, "Hello there, Absol, how are you doing?"
Absol just gives him a nod as Max asks, "You have your own Absol as well? That is so cool."
"Yeah, Absol is one of the Pokemon that always tells me whenever there is a danger around here. And he is doing such a good job." Ash says as he rubs the fur of the Pokemon, but then Absol tells them about danger, and Ash listens to it.
"So what does he say?"Serena asks, and Ash sighs, "Don't worry, it is just Darkrai trying to feast on dreams from the people who are taking a nap in their dorms. Excuse me since I will need to leave for a while."
Once Ash and Absol leave, Eve says, "Since Ash has every one of the Pokemon, he also has Darkrai as well. And trust me, Darkrai will like to feast on nightmares and it gives a lot of students fear."
"Why didn't you stop him from doing so?" Dawn asks, and Eve says, "Believe me, I have been trying to stop them a lot of times, I was just tired for today, and thanks for Ash and Alice being here."
Alice says, "That might be true."
As they continue forward, they see that a Weavile is teaching some students about battling, and when they see Alice, they quickly rush towards her and Alice also greets her students.
"So they are Alice's students?" May asks, "I see that there are a lot of them."
Eve smiles and says, "Due to being an Ice Type Elite 4 member, as well as the future princess of the Sevestar Region, a lot of people have been asking her to teach them a lot of stuff. Weavile has to help her out as it is also a Dark Type Pokemon that she uses often in battles."
"Really." Misty says. "Since it is an Ice Type, it is perfect for her to use."
Just then, they see two Alice talking with each other and they are shocked, Lillie asks, "Since when there are two Alice at the same time?"
Eve sighs, "Don't worry about it." She walks towards one of the Alice and then she grabs the tail, causing it to be back to Zoroark. "A Zoroark..." Gladion says.
Alice rolls her eyes and says, "Zoroark was just talking to me, and did you seriously have to do that?"
"Well, the others are surprised at your Zoroark after all." Eve says. Alice sighs and says, "Well, Ash told me that he met this Zoroark as a Zorua back in Crown City, but after traveling to Decolore Islands, we meet again and he becomes one of our Pokemon."
"You mean, this is the same one who is capable of using Telepathy?" Brock asks, and Zoroark says, "Surprised?"
"It sure is surprising." Lana says as the others are shocked to hear the Pokemon talking human.
As for Ash, he is calming the Darkrai with Absol and Bisharp's help. Ash says, "Darkrai, I know you just want to play with our students, but please don't go too far."
Darkrai nods as Ash recalls the Pokemon, then he hears a voice, "Well if it isn't Prince Ash Ketchum?"
Ash turns around and they see a girl leading a group walking towards them. Ash smiles and says, "Marnie, what are you doing here? And I see you also brought Team Yell here as well."
Marnie says, "Do you forget, my brother is going to have his own concert in the school at your mother's request."
"I think I forgot about it, but it is nice to see you here." Ash says.
"You bet. Where is Alice? Isn't she with you?" Marnie asks in confusion.
"She and her sister are taking my friends from the other regions around the school, maybe I should introduce you to them." Ash says she nods.
Back at Alice and the others, Alice also shows them Ash's Hydreigon. Alice says, "As you can see, this Hydreigon has been causing us a lot of trouble because it has three heads, which means it has three minds and they might be fighting against each other.
"I think I know about that. But how did Ash get a Hydreigon?" Iris asks.
"It was a gift from his father." Eve says. "Ash's father is the King of both Galar and Sevestar Region, which is why he wasn't in Ash's life when he was little. By making up for the time that he couldn't be with his son, he gives him a Deino as a present."
"And to tell you the truth, Hydreigon needs the most level to evolve. It needs to be at Level 64 or more if it wants to be from Zweilous to Hydreigon."
"Really...that really is a high level." Cilan says.
As they turn around, they see some Malamar floating around, and Bonnie asks, "What are those Malamar doing here?"
Eve says, "Those Malamar are friends with the students here. With Ash's Malamar's help, they have been doing a great job."
Alice says, "Though there is a problem, some naughty students will have Malamar hypnotize them to get good grades while they just need to study hard to do so."
"I don't think I know how to say about that..." Lillie says.
Just then, Ash comes with a group of people behind them and Alice notices the girl and she rushes to her, "Marnie! You're here!"
"Hello, Alice." Marnie says in a shy tone as the two girls hug each other. Eve says, "Ash, what is the whole Team Yell doing here?"
"It is obvious, there is Pier's concert holding today, so they are here to cheer him on." Ash says.
"Team Yell?" The others are confused, and Ash says, "At first, I thought that they were some sort of evil team just like Team Rocket or other stuff, but it turns out that they are just a fan club from Marnie here."
Marnie says, "So they are your friends from the other regions? It is nice to meet you."
Ash says, "Marnie is my rival from the Galar Region, and trust me, both she and her Morpeko really gives me a hard trouble when we encounter each other in the journey."
"So you are Ash's rival? That is a good thing to know." Max says.
Marnie nods and says, "Yeah..."
Alice says, "Despite their good intentions to form a fan club of sorts, the grunts begin to take things too far by rudely obstructing Marnie's rivals in their Gym Challenges and doing anything to prevent them from becoming Champion. It is until we go to their hometown, Spikemuth, that we manage to stop them from doing such things."
"Believe me, at that time I didn't know things would turn out to be like that as well." Marnie sighs. "But after I lost to Ash in the League, I decided to take over my brother's proposition to become the Gym Leader of Spikemuth instead."
"But why would Team Yell try to go this far? There must be a reason behind it, right?" Cilan asks.
"Their hometown, Spikemuth, was the only place in the Galar Region that has a normal gym field, which means, we can't Dynamax in the gym. Team Yell wants Marnie to be the Champion so that Spikemuth will be in its glory. If you think of another way, Spikemuth is like Po Town in Galar."
"That sounds horrible." Mallow says as the Alola Group knows about the place.
"But after I become the Champion, I decide to ask Elena and my father about the Spikemuth problem, and then we manage to have our own Spikemuth Gym Stadium so Marnie can use her Gigantamax to battle." Ash says.
"That reminds me, how about we have a battle, Ash?" Marnie asks, "I want to see if I can beat you this time?"
"Of course we can." Ash says with a smile as they go to the school battlefields. A lot of people notice that Ash is going to battle as they gather around the stadium, Eve, Alice, and even Delia are helping them by making sure that the children aren't going to interrupt their battle.
"So it will be a one on one battle, is that okay?" Marnie asks, and Ash nods. "Of course."
"Now, go! Grimmsnarl!" Both of them send out their Pokemon, and much to everyone's surprise, they are the same one.
"Grimmsnarl? What is that Pokemon?" Iris asks.
"Now about this Pokemon, it is the final evolved form of Impidimp." Eve shows them the picture of the Pokemon using her own Pokedex, and she says, "Impidimp sneaks into people's homes, stealing things and feasting on the negative energy of the frustrated occupants. And when it evolves, it becomes Morgrem. When it gets down on all fours as if to beg for forgiveness, it's trying to lure opponents in so that it can stab them with its spear-like hair. And finally, we have this Grimmsnarl. Its hairs work like muscle fibers. When its hairs unfurl, they latch on to opponents, ensnaring them as tentacles would."
"That really is detailed, as expected from a Professor..." Serena says, "But seeing from your Pokedex, I don't think we have seen a Pokemon that is both Dark and Fairy at the same time."
Delia says, "You're right about that, so this match is a fair match since both Pokemon are super effective against each other."
Marnie says, "I think we should take things to another level."
"You're right." Ash says as they suddenly Gigantamax their Grimmsnarl at the same time.
"So that is the Dark Type Gigantamax Pokemon?" Gladion asks.
"By transforming its leg hair, this Pokémon delivers power-packed drill kicks that can bore huge holes in Galar's terrain." Alice says. "That is Gigantamax Grimmsnarl."
"Use G-Max Snooze!" Marnie yells as the Pokemon delivers dark energy at Ash's causing Ash's getting to yawn. Eve says, "A Dark-type attack that Gigantamax Grimmsnarl uses. The user lets lose a huge yawn that lulls the targets into falling asleep on the next turn."
"So it creates a Yawn? That sounds very interesting." Brock says.
Ash also does the same and both Pokemon are sleeping until they return to normal. Ash's manages to get up first, Ash says, "Use Spirit Break!"
Grimmsnarl roars as it breaks the spirit of Marnie's, Marnie says, "Not bad, but we are going to do that as well." Marnie's Grimmsnarl also gets back up as they continue to battle.
Ash and the others are hearing how Team Yell is cheering for Marnie, Alice says, "We can't lose to them as well, go! Ash! Go!"
The other friends are doing the same as the whole stadium is really noisy and heating up. Ash and Marnie's Grimmsnarl keep exchanging their attacks, until Ash's Grimmsnarl manages to finish Marnie's off with the Play Rough.
"I mean, If you're gonna win, you could at least win in a way that makes me look good, right?" Marnie mutters as she recalls her Pokemon.
"Sorry." Ash says, "But you are quite strong as well. Everyone likes our battles."
"You're right about that." Marnie says as she shows her small smile.
Here is the second part of the Dark Type Chapter, and we have Marnie in the story. I let Ash battle Marnie and using Grimmsnarl as well, since I really like to use Grimmsnarl as well. I hope you like this chapter and the next one will be Piers and his concert, as well as some Legendary Pokemon of Dark Type.
