ANNABETH

She slept until late. Until 11:00 am. The day went by slowly. Every minute seemed sluggish. The day dragged itself like a drunkard on a damp pavement.

She sipped on two cups of coffee until it was finally 5 in the evening. She had had a rather giddy and positive feeling in her gut all day long. It's just because of the prom. She told herself. But she wasn't quite sure.

She decided to ignore that feeling and went for a shower. She had already selected which dress she was going to wear. And the pair of her shoes. And her perfume. And her wristwatch. She came out, and stretched on her bed.

She glanced at the clock. There was still more than enough time left. She put on some music and relaxed. Every line of every song made her think of Percy. She blushed a deep red. She could feel the heat rising up her face. Thank god she was alone.

She got up, and dressed. I need to look as good as him. She hummed while she puts on mascara and lipstick.

After she was done, she checked herself in the mirror. 9 out of 10. Err, you are being too generous.8? 8.5? She didn't get the time to decide. Her phone chimed. It was Percy. I am here. Butterflies took flight inside her. She took another deep breath, composed herself, and walked out.

He was wearing a blue tuxedo. White shirt. Black tie. Blue chino. It hugged his body closely, revealing his lithe figure. Damn! I can already feel the heat! She blushed at her own bawdiness. Get hold of yourself, Chase!

Percy's eyes visibly lit up when he saw Annabeth. "Good evening, gorgeous" Percy smiled at her warmly. She melted. She tried to say something like, 'Thank you, Percy!' but she only smiled because she was too busy blushing a deep red.

He looked at her, taking in her beauty, it seemed to her. Hush, Annabeth. You aren't- that was when his eyes met hers. Sea green eyes, deep, beautiful, rich in emotions. They beckoned her. To come closer. To close even the minutest of gap between them. She inched forward. Slowly. Cautiously. Percy also did the same. Their eyes never breaking the contact.

"Good evening, Perseus" a female voice said beside Annabeth. She turned to find her mom standing there in her business suit. She had returned home, it seemed. And they both had been so lost in each other that they hadn't noticed her coming!

Percy was also amazed. He blushed, cleared his throat, and then greeted her mother. "Good evening, Mrs Chase" he said. "Umm…" he was groping for words. "You look lovely." He added.

"Pray, thank you, Percy" she said, eyeing Annabeth. "Not as good as you though" she raised an eyebrow at Percy.

"Mom" Annabeth interjected. She just wanted this conversation to stop right away. "We better get going" she told her mom.

"Oh, yes, yes. Surely." Her mom smiled at her, and then at Percy. Percy quickly opened Annabeth's door for her, oh my gentleman! And then they quickly drove away. Putting a waving Mrs Chase behind them.

They reached college. Their friends were all already there. "And there's our Mr late current!" Piper exclaimed as she saw them get out of their car.

She looked beautiful! Annabeth commented on her dress and Piper laughed heartily. She then turned towards Jason, "Looks like someone's going to miss a chance to dance with an angel tonight!" Piper blushed and Jason heaved a melodramatic sigh.

"Come on guys! We are already late enough! The prom has already started!" Calypso chimed in. She also looked stunning. "We'll get enough time to tease Jason later"

"Sure" Leo offered Calypso his hand. She took it, and they both started walking. Jason and Piper also put their hand in hand, and Jason managed to limp towards the doors. Only Annabeth and Percy were left now.

Percy turned towards her, and a smiling Annabeth met his gaze. He smiled. His signature playboy smile. But somehow, it felt different. It didn't convey his playboy-ness, but something else. Something…deeper. She enjoyed the moment. To its hilt.

He then offered her his right hand. She took it as gracefully as possible, and smiled. She felt sparks fly as their hands met. Only her overwhelming giddiness remained. Nothing else.

And so they went in. The wave of music hit them all. But Annabeth didn't pay any mind to it. She was too busy with Percy. They turned a lot of heads as they walked in together, hand in hand. The college had only known them both to be very close friends. Nothing else. I am real good at hiding things, she thought.

The fact that Percy Jackson had brought Annabeth Chase as his prom date must have spread like wildfire. They were first met by Professor Chiron. Then Ms Lupa. Then Professor Maxim, then Asst. Professor Arthur. And then someone else and then someone else. Annabeth talked to them, laughed at their jokes, but she didn't pay any heed to any of them. Her mind was too occupied with Percy Jackson.

Percy turned to her, "Wanna dance?" he asked with a smile. She noticed that even his smile hadn't left his face at all. "Please" Annabeth couldn't control herself.

PERCY

They went onto the dance floor, hand in hand. Dang! I LOVE this woman! Everything else in this plastic world dematerialized, and only she was left. Her Princess Blonde curls. Her storming grey eyes. Her stunningly intricate face. Her red seductive lips. Who MADE her?!

He put his one arm around her slim waist as she put her hand on his strong shoulder. Percy could feel her body's warmth. They swayed to the music slowly.

He had stopped himself form kissing her yesterday, but he didn't know why. With every passing moment, he yearned more and more for her. He loved her. That was eminent. All the rest of the things in the world were now trivial.

"I love this song!" Annabeth said.

And I love you. Percy thought.

"What?" Annabeth asked.

"Uh nothing!" he replied hastily.

"Percy" she bore her eyes into him. Those grey clouds hovered above the green sea. Thunder struck. Storms raged.

"Annabeth" he lost control over himself and muttered her name as if it were a holy righteous chant that was going to grant him liberation.

"I heard you" she spoke, softly, weighing each word.

WHAT?! FUCK! I'm screwed!

"I'm s-"

"Shhhh" she put her finger on his lips and stopped him from saying anything. She looked him dead in the eyes. Her eyes had a deep emotion in them. "Don't say anything." she said softly.

He swallowed. This is the moment, Jackson. Go for it. "Then you say something?" he asked her naively.

She smiled. A deep heart-warming smile that reached her eyes. "I love you too." She muttered the spell. And Percy was enchanted. His joy knew no limit. He had become a slave of a goddess now. And this slave was going to do something precarious now.

He pulled her closer. Tightened his grip on her waist. Put his other hand behind her head, and placed his lips on hers. Ever so delicately. His heart went supernova. His mind went blank. He felt bliss. Annabeth kissed him back. And he was liberated. His boon had been granted.
