A/N: Hello everyone, I am back with chapter twenty-eight of this story. Here, dark secrets are revealed.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon

Our trio stayed in Crimson City for a few days and things were going okay. It was a new morning and it was now breakfast time. Everyone ate, but the three additional mouths meant food went quicker.

"James, can you make me an omelet." requested Jessie.

"Of course." replied James.

James opened the fridge and looked for eggs.

"What's taking so long?" asked Jessie annoyed.

As Jessie asked this, Gertrude happened to enter the room.

"I can't find any eggs." said James.

"That's because they aren't any." revealed Gertrude.

James didn't know Gertrude was here so her voice caused him to bang his head on the top of the fridge.

"That hurt." moaned James.

"Then I'll have orange juice then." groaned Jessie.

"There's no more OJ in the fridge." noted James.

"Come on!" cried Jessie.

"It's not like you're contributing." shrugged Gertrude.

"What does that mean?!" asked Jessie offended.

"You're not bringing in money. But that makes sense in the situation." answered Gertrude calmly.

Jessie seemed to calm down.

"I'll go to the store and get things." offered James.

"I'll join you." said Meowth.

Meowth got up on his two feet.

"It's weird being a quadruped again." stated Meowth.

"It's that or give away your identity." shrugged Gertrude.

"I'd love you to join me." replied James.

A list was quickly put together and James given the money needed.

"We'll be right back." said James.

"I'll be here." groaned Jessie.

James and Meowth left. They went to the local supermarket and bought the items on their list. Meowth was just enjoying stretching his legs. They got their items and left. James and Meowth were casually chatting as they walked back. However, James suddenly noticed that Meowth stopped talking.

"What's going on?" asked James.

James turned toward Meowth.

"It's...her." answered Meowth.

James followed Meowth's line of sight and saw the problem.

"Oh crap." said James horrified.

Nearby was a girl walking around recording with her phone. While she seemed like an ordinary tourist, it was Domino.

"This city is like so cool!" declared Domino.

Dominio was using a faux Valley accent to hide her identity.

"We have to hide." noted James urgently.

James grabbed Meowth and they ducked behind a street lamp.

"Did she see us?" asked Meowth worried.

James looked out and saw Domino still acting like a tourist.

"No." answered James relieved.

"We have to get back to Jessie." noted Meowth.

James poked his head back out.

"These cherry blossom trees are so beautiful!" declared Domino.

"What do we do?" asked Meowth.

"We have to get back without being noticed." answered James.

"Easier said than done." replied Meowth.

The lights turned red and people began to cross the crosswalk.

"Let's go." said James.

James and Meowth slipped into the crowd crossing the street.

"Don't notice us. Don't notice us." whispered James.

The two crossed the street and managed to avoid being spotted.

"Let's go." said James.

James and Meowth managed to avoid being seen and escaped. They quickly got home and put the groceries on the kitchen table. Luckily, Jeanette was there and offered to put them away freeing up James and Meowth. James found Jessie in her room while Meowth got Gertrude. They all gathered in the guest room where our trio were staying.

"We have a problem." said James.

"What it is?" asked Jessie annoyed.

"Domino is here!" exclaimed Meowth horrified.

Jessie froze.

"How did she find us?" asked Jessie angrily.

"Team Rocket has agents everywhere." answered Gertrude flatly.

"So, it could have been anyone." mused James.

Jessie turned her attention right to Gertrude.

"Anyone." said Jessie.

"Oh, cool your jets, it wasn't me." huffed Gertrude.

"How can I be sure of that?" asked Jessie suspicious.

"That little bitch is the last person I'd willing call." answered Gertrude.

"Harsh." replied James.

"Trust me, someone didn't tan her hide enough as a kid." said Gertrude.

Gertrude thought for a moment.

"Does the name Gus mean anything?" asked Gertrude.

"Yeah. Annie and Oakley worked with Domino to kill her." answered James.

"Why?" asked Gertrude.

"She was threatening to blackmail Giovanni." answered Meowth.

Gertrude laughed.

"What's so funny?" asked Jessie.

"I'm sure Annie and Oakley believed that, but they were lied to." answered Gertrude.

James gasped in horror.

"So, he wasn't trying to blackmail Giovanni?" asked James.

Gertrude shook her head.

"It's time I tell you a story..." began Gertrude.

It was twenty years earlier. Gertrude was the personal secretary for Madame Boss and was sitting pretty. At her desk, Gertrude was filing paperwork sent in from the latest missions. As she finished, Madame Boss walked up having returned from a meeting. Madame Boss stopped at the desk.

"How were our missions?" asked Madame Boss annoyed.

"Excellent." answered Gertrude.

Madame Boss spotted a report and picked it up reading it.

"Perfect. I knew she wouldn't fail us." said Madame Boss.

Madame Boss put the paper down.

"Her daughter, Jessie, can be proud of her." noted Madame Boss irked.

"Ma'am..." began Gertrude.

"My brat son is being a pain." revealed Madame Boss.

"I'm sorry to hear that." said Gertrude sympathetically.

"Unfortunately, I'm used to it." sighed Madame Boss.

"Is he pushing for us to enter drug smuggling?" asked Gertrude.

"That's part of it. I don't care if it helped raise money, I'm not pushing poison. I have standards." answered Madame Boss.

"I respect that immensely." replied Gertrude.

"Now he wants to open a game corner in Celadon City." said Madame Boss.

"And what do you think?" asked Gertrude curious.

"I'm not going to lose sight of our original goal." answered Madame Boss.

"I respect your decision." stated Gertrude.

"I wish that brat son of mine would." replied Madame Boss.

Madame Boss shook her head.

"I'm not to be disturbed." ordered Madame Boss.

Gertrude nodded her head understanding.

"Of course." said Gertrude.

"If my brat son calls or shows up, send him away immediately." added Madame Boss.

"Of course." said Gertrude.

Madame Boss entered her office.

"Oh man. Jessie is so lucky." sighed Gertrude.

Gertrude did her work for a while when a man walked up.

"Can I help you?" asked Gertrude.

Gertrude recognized the man as a freelancer named Gus who occasionally did work for Team Rocket.

"I need to talk with Madame Boss." answered Gus.

"She isn't talking to anyway." noted Gertrude.

"This is important." stated Gus.

"Sorry. No exceptions." shrugged Gertrude.

"Okay." said Gus.

Gus left and things got back to normal. Fifteen minutes later, Gertrude felt her bladder act up.

"Damn." groaned Gertrude.

Gertrude went to the bathroom. When she returned, she heard arguing the Madame Boss' office.

"I want you out!" demanded Madame Boss.

Gertrude peeked through the door and saw Madame Boss arguing with Gus.

"That jerk." muttered Gertrude, angry with Gus.

"Your son just wants to talk." stated Gus.

"Tell him if he has any balls, he'd talk to me himself." spat Madame Boss.

"You won't see him." noted Gus.

"We have nothing to talk about." stated Madame Boss.

Gus rubbed his temples.

"Please, just reconsider." requested Gus.

"I'm not selling poison." said Madame Boss.

"It'll bring in a lot of money." noted Gus.

"I don't care." replied Madame.

"What about the Game Corner?" asked Gus.

"No and that is the final answer." answered Madame Boss.

Madame Boss stood up and marched over to Gus.

"Leave." ordered Madame Boss.

Gus chuckled.

"Is something funny?" asked Madame Boss.

"I'm leaving." answered Gus.

Madame Boss turned her back to Gus.

"Good. Now I have to get back to work." said Madame Boss.

Gus pulled a piano wire out of his pocket and wrapped it around the throat of Madame Boss.

"What are you doing?!" asked Madame Boss furious.

"You should have agreed." answered Gus.

"Let go of me!" demanded Madame Boss.

"You brought all of this onto yourself!" spat Gus.

"Once I get out of this, you're dead!" exclaimed Madame Boss.

Gus chuckled.

"You're not getting out of this." said Gus coldly.

Madame Boss could feel her life slipping away and she desperately clawed trying to remove the wire.

"Goodbye you bitch." said Gus.

Gus used his superior get Madame Boss on the ground. Madame Boss kept fighting until he hands fell limp.

"No." whispered Gertrude horrified.

Gus got up, went to the phone on Madame Boss' desk and made a call.

"She refused to so I had to kill her." said Gus.

Gus waited for a response.

"Boss, are you there?" asked Gus.

The person he was speaking to answer.

"Of course, Mr. Giovanni." said Gus.

Gertrude felt her heart drop, Madame Boss was murdered on the order of her son.

"What about her secretary?" asked Gus.

Gertrude quickly rushed back to her desk and sat down.

"Please don't kill me." whispered Gertrude.

Moments later, Gus popped his head out.

"Madame Boss wants you to take the rest of the day off." stated Gus.

Gertrude finished telling her story. She had tears in her eyes as she recalled what she witnessed that night. Jessie, James and Meowth were left speechless by what they heard. Gertrude grabbed a tissue and wiped the tears from her eyes. Gertrude threw the tissue away and took a deep breath.

"Giovanni took charge the next day. I stayed as his secretary for a long time until he replaced me with Madori." said Gertrude.

"Is that why you're a scout?" asked Meowth.

"He tried to present it as a special assignment, but I knew it was a demotion." answered Gertrude.

"Giovanni claimed Madame Boss retired and left him in charge." said Jessie horrified.

"Gus could have tried to blackmail Giovanni, but he simply could have been killed because he knew too much." shrugged Gertrude.

"I..." began James.

James trailed off.

"I hate to say this, but you need to go." said Gertrude.

"I know that." sighed Jessie.

"Domino is after you so you might need to run until the end of the earth." stated Gertrude.

"We'll do to together." replied James.

A/N: So, there's some revelations. Now we know why Gus was killed and how Giovanni came to power. It seems Giovanni is more cold blooded then even our trio thought. Next time, our trio tries to sneak out of Crimson City. Please review.
