Chapter 28- Ghost from the past
Regina saw Emma`s dairy on the side table and picked it up and opened it. She reads a page about Emma getting hit by her foster father and running away that night.
Regina heard someone coming and put the book back on the table. The door opened and David walked in.
"You may be the Major but this is my room. What are you doing here?" "Emma is a interesting girl. I heard he been spending time with Emma. Is there a reason."
"She`s a sweet kid who`s got the weight of the world on her shoulders."
The next day, Mary Margent walked into the kitchen to see Emma sitting at the table.
"Good morning Emma, what going on?" "I made breakfast pancakes."
Mary Margent sat at the table. "Emma this is really nice but what you up too." "Can`t I do something nice."
"Yes you can but cookies and pancakes, Emma I`m not going to send you back."
"It`s might be that or also I just wanted to do something nice."
In the Major`s office, Regina sits at her deck looking at Emma`s file. She puts up the phone."Hello is that Mr Simon West. Did you once have a foster daughter called Emma."
A cross town Emma sat on the beach looking out at the sea. Emma took out her sketch book from her bag and started drawing the view.
Half hour later, Regina walks up to Emma and sees her drawing. "I knew a little girl about your age who liked to draw."
Emma turned her head around to Regina. Is there something I can help you with."
"I`ve been on the phone with a Mr West, Mr Simon West."
Emma knew that name he used to be in her nightmares a month after she run away.
"I don`t know who that is." "Really because he knows you. He was telling me all about you."
"He`s a liar. You may of read file but you don`t know. I was not the only foster kid in that home, there was girl younger than me and Simon did the same thing to her too."
Emma put her sketchbook back in her bag and walked away.
Later that day Emma sat at the back of Granny`s with a hot coco and her sketch book in front of her. She could see the door and the person who just walked in and walked to the counter.
Her old foster dad the one who she had nightmares for a month after she run away.
Simon booked a room at the inn and buy a coffee and seat down in a booth facing Emma.
He saw Emma and knew straight away who she is.
Before he took a slip of his coffee he smiled at Emma. Emma grabbed her stuff and run to the door but before she got to the door Simon grabbed Emma`s arm.
"Little star". His nickname for her. "All grow up, someone told me you have a good home here, if they knew what you`re really like."
"Get off me, you`re hurting my arm."
Ruby saw what is happening and walked over. "Is everything all right?"
"Everything`s fine. He said as he let Emma go. Emma ran out of the diner.
Emma kept running and then dropped to the ground crying. The first thought that came to Emma`s mind was run but she can`t, she liked it here. It`s where she belongs.
