*Chapter 28*

"Vanellope," Ralph grumbled cutely before he finally scoffed an annoyed little chuckle and buried his face into his large hand. He rubbed his forehead in still chuckling agitation and eyed his beautiful wife across their lovely kitchen.

"It's FUNNY," Vanellope hissed as she finally stood to correction, she was previously bent over to observe the one thing she thought was appropriate to bake; a bun.

"Oliver's on his way," Ralph stated through a sigh; both him and Vanellope had spent the majority of the day doing whatever they could to get a loading bar to present itself, on this lazy Sunday, though to no avail, just yet. Although nothing had cropped up as of this moment, they were still hopeful it would be sometime shortly. Overeager to surprise their three adult children with the news that would eventually present itself, Ralph and Vanellope figured they'd invite their children over for a small hang out in the hopes that said loading bar would arrive with everyone present. Ralph eyed Vanellope sweetly and shook his head, "No bar?"

"... Not yet," Vanellope sighed with a frown, she fingered her lip and waggled her finger, "I remember Oliver's loading bar cropped up less than twelve hours after we had swapped ONCE."

"We've gone at it four times today," Ralph mumbled, nearly as if said fourth time was his final for the day, a silent way of politely assuring to Vanellope that a fifth round was potentially out of the question until he had gotten a good night's sleep, "It's gunna be fine, babe, we'll get that loading bar eventually."

"I want it now," Vanellope mumbled in playful, pouting complain, though she perked up in smiling excitement as their large front door croaked open, in which Oliver cutely welcomed himself inside, "Hey bud, we're in the kitchen."

"Hey guys," Oliver chimed with a sweet sigh and a nod, though he raised his eyebrows in dewy excitement and sniffled the air for a moment, "Mom, are you baking something?"

"I am, it's a surprise," Vanellope nodded, she acted mildly nonchalant so to keep Oliver off of her scent; she was successful due to the cute mosey Oliver made to his father, and in true, childlike, boyish fashion, Oliver leaned his big body against the side of Ralph's much bigger body and clamored onto his father in the act of giving him a big, awkward side hug that Ralph couldn't reciprocate.

"Son," Ralph mumbled in irritation as he gently tried to free his arms from Oliver's grip, though Oliver smiled and buried his face into Ralph's shoulder, in a grinning, snuggly way.

"Dad," Oliver cheesed as he lulled his eyes closed amidst his usual, adorable gap-toothed smile.

"I would return the hug if you'd let me," Ralph's mumbly tone grew more and more playful irritated, though just as Oliver was due to cheekily replying, Koko and Tessa's figures came sauntering through the front door; they both happily chattered away.

"Hey guys," Tessa chimed with a smile, though as her and Koko took note of the grippy hug Oliver had on their father, they both giggled and cutely joined in, thus making it now impossible for Ralph to worm his way out of their huge group hug, "Dog pile."

"The laziest dog pile ever," Koko giggled.

"Kids," Ralph grunted in chuckling irritation.

"Your children love you, just accept your doom," Vanellope mumbled cutely as she bent back over and looked into the oven; curiously hoping her little bun was done baking, she sagged in irritation to find that it was almost done, but not quite.

"Alright, mom, you invited us over for some baked goods and to harass dad, yeah?" Tessa mumbled cutely, "I left Zed at home, alone, with alcohol, so I probably shouldn't stay too long."

"Oh, we can say goodbye to the code room," Oliver grunted, he still held tightly latched onto Ralph's figure long after Koko and Tessa had removed themselves and taken a seat at the island. Oliver suddenly choked a small laugh as Ralph finally manhandled Oliver into a playful choke hold and a grip of a hug in his massive embrace. Oliver wheezed a noise and gave Koko and Tessa a look of desperation, "Guys...! Help."

"Yeah, let's battle dad, the hugest, strongest bad guy in this whole Arcade," Koko mumbled as she flicked her dark brown hair over her shoulder and looked down at her nails, "Next."

"Dad could strong arm every single being on palace grounds," Tessa choked a giggle as her and Koko sat close, "I'll bet he could even take on Orion."

"Oh, I could," Ralph waggled his eyebrows and crowned a wide, dorky smile, to which Oliver grunted and tried to free himself from Ralph's grip, to no avail.

"Dad," Oliver wheezed with a boyish chuckle as both boys began to lightly strong arm and wrestle one another; Oliver eventually wormed free of Ralph's playful grip and gave Ralph's shoulder a good few shoves. Oliver huffed a panting little noise and teasingly peered back at Ralph, "That all you got?"

"Yeah, for now, I'm exhausted," Ralph muttered as he returned to his slouched position to the island, though Oliver sat down on Ralph's other side and wrinkled his nose in full, boyish irritation.

"It's SUNDAY, you've surely done nothing all day, how can you be exhausted?" Oliver wondered, both Koko and Tessa eagerly eyed their father, as if to show they were equally as curious as to just what their dad's answer would be; much to their surprise, his face turned red.

"No reason," Ralph huffed, immediately regretting opening his mouth, though Tessa waggled her finger at her mother and eyed her dad in the process.

"You knowww, too many code swaps in a day is deadly," Tessa teased, to which Oliver rolled his eyes as Ralph grinned and looked down to his hands.

"It is?" Koko shyly wondered in a slope of now terrified naivety.

"No," Tessa blurt, she gave Koko a cute look of teasing uncertainty.

"Y'just trying to scare mom and dad out of swapping, AGAIN, after we leave?" Oliver muttered, to which Ralph rubbed his face in full, shy irritation and eyed Vanellope as she snuck away to the oven, once more.

"Y'started this," Vanellope quipped, Ralph allowed a smug smile to span his face as he sagged his shoulders.

"No, I'm going to SLEEP after you guys leave," Ralph mumbled cutely, he rubbed his eye in a clear show of sleepy exhaustion.

"Y'baking something new, mom? Is that why you wanted us to come over and try it?" Tessa sweetly wondered.

"It just smells like bread," Oliver stated, Koko nodded and fluttered her eyes.

"Reaaally good bread," Koko huffed in a dreamy way, to which Ralph choked a small chuckle and eyed her in cute suspicion.

"Alright, gang, there's... There's a specific reason your father and I brought you guys here, tonight," Vanellope chimed as she closed the oven door with her foot, slowly turned to face the kitchen island and came to said island with her hands buried deep in oven mits. She cautiously lowered a small pan to the island's protective surface and revealed a singular little loaf of bread, a bun in which she was entirely eager to use as her analogy. Certain her children would've already gotten the millions of hints via neon lights, she was shocked that they confusedly peered to her in dewy, cute readiness, though just as Vanellope opened her mouth to defeatedly just come out with it, Oliver furrowed his brow in whole confusion and gingerly pointed to the little fluffy loaf.

"You... You only had this one little bun in the oven?" Oliver innocently asked, to which Ralph sucked his bottom lip into his mouth, and without moving his head, he dart his eyes tight to Vanellope's and could feel both of his daughter's auras begin to lift from the dead.

"... Mom, you... Had a bun..." Tessa started in a low tone, though her eyes gradually lit up with the intensity of the sun's brightness, "I-In the OVEN."

"Why just the one bun? Are we all going to share it?" Oliver barked in an irritated tone, still clearly not getting it.

"MOM!" Koko shrieked in whole excitement, "A-Are you pregnant?!"

"N-not yet, but," Vanellope heaved a shaky little giggle and lifted her shirt, and though there was an absence of a loading bar, the group still held tight to her words with full excitement, "I was hoping that it'd show up while you guys were here..."

Ralph opened his mouth to cutely usher her a notion of assurance, and though Tessa, Oliver and Koko were previously about to erupt with elated excitement, the group largely flinched as the coding, on Vanellope's lower stomach, suddenly flickered with a show of glitch lines and purple pixels. As if on a cue, Vanellope's coding finally settled, to which proudly gleaned an adorable loading bar. On cue, everyone loudly gasped in whole stun, and before anyone could think, Tessa, Koko and Oliver loudly yelled in whole, riled excitement and erupted like fireworks out of their chairs. Ralph raised his eyebrows in hot surprise and nearly couldn't get his brain to work correctly, though once the group of three largely grappled onto Ralph's upper arms, wrangled him into a messy show of a group hug and tore around the island to give their mother an equal amount of love, Ralph stood and put his large hands on the sides of his temples in unadulterated, excited stun.

"H-Holy shit, that was the HUGEST coincidence ever!" Vanellope cried with an excited laugh, the group was blistered with loud notions of pure joy, they clamored Vanellope into a wobbly group hug and happily leaned in to see Vanellope's glistening, adorable new loading bar, though as Ralph rounded the corner, the three stood to correction and allowed their mother and father to ravel into a proper hug. Vanellope slapped her arms tight about Ralph's neck and wheezed a teary laugh as they both grinned wider than their faces could afford. Vanellope cutely hissed Ralph a squee of quiet excitement into his neck and ear, "We did it...!"

"I can't believe it," Ralph shakily ushered, he could feel tears sting his eyes, and though he wanted to conceal the fact that he was getting emotional, all three of his children cutely cooed little notions of sweet assurance, which cued Ralph to understand that the crackle of his voice was enough for the three to know that he was about to start crying. As him and Vanellope pulled apart, they held each others hands and beamed their teary, grinning faces into each others as they hung close to each other. The two met in a string of a few warm kisses before Ralph finally lifted Vanellope's shirt with care and assessed the product of their love, proudly aglow in the cutest little loading bar, one of which that proudly read 'one percent'. Ralph huffed a shaky chuckle as a few tears slipped down his cheeks, "Baby number four, y'guys."

"We're now a family of six, can you believe it?" Vanellope giggled as she wiped her face of tears, all five beings cutely glommed into one massive, group family hug and wobbled amidst the squeeze of Ralph's massive embrace that came about his brood.

"I mean, no, seriously," Ralph grunted a chuckle, the group cutely laughed as he sighed a blissful sigh and lulled his eyes closed, "Never in a million years did I think I get this lucky, to have you guys for family."

"We ARE pretty awesome," Oliver proudly stated with a nod, to which Tessa and Koko lit up and joined in.

"I mean think of it, mom and dad liked us three SO MUCH that they wanted more," Tessa rushed.

"Ooo, what do you think my very first younger sibling is going to be?" Koko's cute, brown eyes glistened underneath the warm kitchen lights as everyone cutely unravelled from each other, "Boy or girl?"

"Boy," Oliver chirped, "I want a little brother!"

"It's tough to be surrounded by badass chicks, huh," Koko muttered, Oliver rolled his eyes.

"No, dad and I are outnumbered," Oliver waggled his hand.

"Y'think it's too soon to tell the gender?" Vanellope wrinkled her nose and gave Tessa a small little glimmer of a curious smile, though she shrugged and waved Tessa off before she could answer, "Bah, it's usually only at around, what... Five percent, where you can finally tell the gender, right?"

"Well, why don't we just see?" Ralph ushered in a hopeful tone as he gently gestured down to Vanellope's loading bar, and though every single being int his room was well-versed in code room abilities, everyone cutely sagged their eyes to Sugar Rush's Queen, "Tess, you... You think you can tell with it being THIS soon?"

"Well, if I can, that'd be really awesome," Tessa started with a nod and a lazy shrug, as if to be sure that she wouldn't find anything this short of notice, she allowed her palm to flare with her lovely silver coding as she pushed into Vanellope's bubble, "What I WILL be able to tell is every single stat the baby has, so far, health wise... Let's see what we got."

Tessa warmly laid her live-wired hand to Vanellope's lower stomach, just over her brand new loading bar, and as both beings flinched upon the kiss of an exterior swap, Tessa narrowed her gaze and aimlessly allowed her hazel eyes to scan the floor just beyond Ralph's body. She bobbed a slow nod of warm approval and politely introduced her coding to her brand new sibling's coding, for the first time, and though the union was sweet and special, Tessa raised her eyebrows in a sudden spike of surprise and stabbed her gaze straight into Vanellope's. Everyone stiffened in a knowing manner and remained silent, though just as Vanellope opened her mouth to huff Tessa a rush of an inquiry, Tessa's little grin broadened as she remained tightly woven in her sibling's fresh, excitable coding.

"... It's a boy," Tessa tenderly whispered, though everyone largely flinched as Oliver suddenly pumped his fist into the air.

"YES! DAD WE'RE EVEN!" Oliver bellowed, to which Vanellope covered her mouth and blurt a hard, excited giggle, and as everyone peered to Ralph in dewy, refreshed excitement, Ralph's face sloped to another swing of emotional, teary joy.

"Ralph, it's a boy," Vanellope cried with an equally as teary giggle.

"Are you sure, Tess? Y-you're positive?" Ralph shakily staggered with an excited nod, to which Tessa eagerly gripped her father's hand, with her free one, and cued him into the exterior swap. Ralph raised his eyebrows as Tessa's silent coding cutely began to sift through the few files her new brother's coding had, and upon revealing the proper gender files to Ralph, his glassy eyes smiled into Vanellope's, "Holy sugar..."

"We get a baby brother," Koko squeed as she bounced on her feet, though Vanellope narrowed her gaze and knew to give Ralph these honors, she was well aware he had already diligently had a name picked for any future son they would potentially have.

"Name your son, babe," Vanellope concluded with full, knowing sweetness, and as him, Tessa and Vanellope remained locked in the exterior swap, Ralph huffed a shaky, teary chuckle and could swear his heart was due to bursting out of his chest.

"Gideon," Ralph sweet voice lilted with conclusive happiness, the group eagerly cooed with the roll of finalization their family unit had come to, and with eager nods all about, everyone finally joined in on the exterior swap and remained close.

"Gideon!" Koko ushered in a full, girly show of approval.

"Hey Gideon, I'm Oliver, the coolest big brother you will EVER have, by the way," Oliver brushed his chest and bobbed a nod, everyone was all smiles and laughs, "Y'can forget about the sissy princesses here."

"I'm the only sissy princess here, you REALLY gunna insult the Queen like that?" Koko muttered playfully, Tessa grinned and rolled her eyes as Oliver waggled his free hand and shook his head.

"Alright, gang... Got two weeks until Gideon's here," Ralph sighed a shaky sigh, he bugged his eyes and looked off, "Holy shit, I'm..."

"You're gunna be a dad times four!" Vanellope cried with a happy giggle as Ralph finally joined in on the group's rouse of excited laughter.

"Y'guys got a whole nursery to put together, now," Koko assured with a nod, to which Tessa gasped and perked up.

"User, PLEASE let me help," Tessa grinned, Koko eagerly nodded as well.

"Mom, what... What's gunna happen to your quarter alerts?" Oliver suddenly wondered in a tone that began to swing out of playfulness and into a mode of nervous protection, though Vanellope gave him a sweet smile and nodded.

"Rancis can take me off the roster for a little while, no harm, no foul," Vanellope assured, though everyone nervously peered to Ralph, "Your father, on the other hand..."

"Yeah, I... I hate this part," Ralph grumbled sorrowfully, "Being away from a newborn, for quarter alerts, is absolutely torture. There's no one who can take my place in wrecking the Niceland building."

"Well, I'll be here, for mom, while you're gone," Oliver hurried to assure with a nod, his mature eyes held tight to Ralph's in entire diligence, "I'll be here every day, to help with Gideon."

"Me too," Koko quickly assured, to which Tessa bobbed a nod and smiled to her parents.

"I'll take a few days off of teaching, we'll all be here to help," Tessa firmly assured, though she grimaced and gave Ralph an apologetic little frown, "I know that doesn't really help in the fact that you'll be away from your newborn..."

"I did it with you and Olly," Ralph heaved a shaky sigh and shook his head, "I'll live..."

"You know that baby is yours the second you come home," Vanellope assured, "Y'remember our routine with Tessa and Oliver."

"We knew it was 'dad time' every day after the Arcade closed," Tessa mumbled in warm reassurance, to which Ralph bobbed a nod and sweetly wrangled everyone in for another group hug.

"User, how did I get so lucky," Ralph wheezed in a whispery, blissful tone as he tucked his chin to the top of Vanellope's head and hugged his kin tight.

"This is so exciting, two weeks will not come fast enough," Tessa mumbled cutely into Oliver's shoulder as they all smushed deeper into their cozy group hug.

"One percent in, got ninety-nine to go," Vanellope lilted in cheery, playful exhaustion, though as she sagged against the broad of Ralph's chest, she lulled her eyes closed and somehow couldn't imagine a better, safer, more blissful spot on the grid, in any Arcade in the entire world.
