I am sorry it took me so long to post. Work has been crazy so I just didn't have the time to write. Well, I hope you like it!
*2 weeks after Thanksgiving (Saturday)*
Brett knocked on Puck's door, he heard him yell to come in so he opened it. "Hey man what's up?" Puck asked motioning for Brett to come and sit. Brett handed Puck the coffee he picked up on the way and took a seat. "What was so direr that I needed to rush over here?" Brett asked. "I have a proposition for you," Puck said. Brett couldn't help but laugh. Puck is the most unserious person Brett knows and watching Puck try to act all serious made him laugh. "What would that be?" Brett asked. "So Mike is moving out to live with Tina, something about taking it to the next step. So that leaves me, without a roommate in a year-long lease that I can't afford by myself" Puck explained. "So what are you asking me?" Brett asked, confused. "I want you to move in here, with me. I was going to put an ad on craigslist to find a roommate but then I remembered that I had a buddy crashing on his sister's couch. So what do you say? Do you want to share an apartment with me?" Puck proposed, smiling big.
Brett never really had a place to call his own. The closest he had to a home was Santana's and Quinn's place but the idea of something that is his. Something that he is paying for kinda intrigues him. But then he wouldn't be able to sleep with Santana every night which he has gotten very used to. "Puck I don't know," Brett said. "This is the best deal! The whole place is already furnished. Mike is going to leave his bed and everything since Tina wants to get a new set. We are not far from Santana and Quinn's place so you can go over whenever you want. Plus if you want to spend time with your girl, she can come here and I'll go to their crib. It is perfect!" Puck explained, clearly excited about the whole thing. "When do you need an answer?" he asked. "Sunday," Puck said. Brett nodded, "I'll think about it and give you an answer by then" Brett replied. "That answer better be a yes because I have so many guys' nights planned," Puck said.
Once Brett left Puck's, he got a call from Carrie to meet her at the gym. The place is almost ready to reopen. They are just waiting on a few more machines that were broken to get shipped in. The shelving installation at Ginny's place is also almost done. So Brett is hoping that once he completes that then the gym will be ready to reopen and he can get back to training.
Brett walked into the gym. The place looked so much better than the last time he saw it. "Doesn't it look nice?" Carrie said coming out from the back office. "You guys completely updated the place," he said. "We wanted to do a renovation anyway so we just decided to do it early with the insurance money. "Did you need help with something? Is that why you called?" Brett asked. "Nope I asked for you to be here," Quinn said walking from the office. She was dressed extremely professionally in a pantsuit. "So what do you need sis?" Brett asked his sister. "We are going over to the business across the street. Carrie called and the owner said we could meet him today. I thought it would be smart to have someone that looks a little intimidating aka you." Quinn explained.
"We are going to see if they have any videos of Sebastian breaking into the place" Carrie explained. "I would have asked Puck but he doesn't know about the Santana part of it, you know," Quinn said. Brett nodded, "Does Tana know about this?" he asked. "No, we decided to keep it on the down-low until we know that we can nail Bash, remember," Quinn said. Brett nodded, "okay let's do this," he said.
The trio walked across the street to the new gastro bar that recently opened. "Hey, my name is Carrie. I am looking for Frank" she said. "That is me, very nice to meet you," Frank said, shaking her hand. "Let's go talk in the back," he said, motioning for the group to follow. Once they made it to the back office, everyone took a seat. "So you said something on the phone about my cameras," Frank asked. "Yes, so my husband and I own the military gym across the street. A few weeks ago it was vandalized and we were wondering if you caught anything on your cameras" Carrie asked. One of the benefits of being a lawyer is that Quinn is very good at reading people.
She watched as the man's breathing increased and he seemed to not be able to look at Carrie in the eye. "I am sorry, the police already came over and took a look at the film. There wasn't anything on the cameras" Frank said. Quinn knew he was lying. "That's too bad, I would like to introduce you to my lawyer Quinn Fabray and one of my employees who is also a marine, Brett Pierce" Carrie said. "Lawyer" Frank studdered. "Yes sir, and I have to say you are not a good liar," Quinn said smiling.
"You see I can get a judge to serve you a warrant for the videos. If I do that I can promise you the IRS will come and look into your taxes as well. Also, I saw your promotion for late-night drinks and I know for a fact you do not have a liquor license for later than midnight. Now, all we want is to see the videos." Quinn said with a smile. Brett could not believe that his little sister was such a badass right now. The guy looked like he was going to shit his pants and vomit at the same time. "The cops came and told me not to show them to anyone," Frank admitted.
Brett looked around the room and saw something that he may be able to use as leverage. "Is that a purple heart?" Brett asked. Frank followed his line of sight and nodded. "My grandfather got it during World War II" he explained. "I am in the marines, a Master Sergeant. I know you have respect for soldiers just by looking at the pictures lining your office. Somebody completely trashed this gym and destroyed pictures of veterans. Whoever did this also threatened me, spray-painted things on the wall like go back to war and die. Does that sound like someone that your grandfather would want you to protect?" Brett asked. Instead of going the intimidation route, Brett hoped to make a connection with him. Brett was the good cop while Quinn was the bad cop.
Frank looked disappointed in himself. "Okay, I'll show you. I just want to put on record that I wasn't trying to keep anything. Once the cops showed up and asked for the video, I let them look because I wanted the asshole to get caught. They are the ones who told me to erase it" Frank explained. "Did you?" Quinn asked. "No, I thought that was a weird request. Why would a cop want me to get rid of evidence? So I just told them I did but I didn't. Am I going to get in trouble for not listening?" he asked Quinn. She shook her head, "I won't let you, I promise" Quinn replied. Frank smiled and nodded. He hooked up his security system to the big tv in the office and started playing it.
"If you look up here in the top right corner, you can see the entrance to the gym. I fast-forwarded it to when your perp comes up" Frank explained. These security cameras were top-notch. They watched as the guy walked up to the glass door. "Do you guys recognize him?" Carrie asked. "Yeah but I don't remember where," Quinn said as she continues to watch. Once the door was broken with a baseball bat was when the rest of the group joined. It was clear as day, there was Sebastian Smythe and 2 other guys who came up the sidewalk and made their way into the gym. "We got him" Brett whispered. "We really have him," Quinn added. Once Quinn saw the whole group she connected the dots. "Omg"' she said.
"Sebastian went to a boarding school when he was younger. I am pretty sure he went to school with those guys. I have met them when Santana would invite them out with us. They are all pompous rich assholes who are used to getting whatever they want." Quinn explained. "Well, now we know how he was able to cause so much damage in such little time" Brett pointed out. Frank handed a USB drive over to Carrie. "I saved it on a USB. I am sorry I tried to keep it from you guys, if you need any more help let me know." Frank said. Brett shook his hand, "you did the right thing" he said. "Thank you for not deleting it," Quinn added.
They made their way back over to the gym. "So what do we do now?" Carrie asked. "I say we bring it to the cops and nail him" Brett expressed. "No. The cops tried to bury this and if we hand it over they will. I have a few friends at the district attorney's office. Let me run it by them and then we will have a better idea on how to handle this" Quinn explained. "Should we tell Santana?" Brett asked. "Isn't she going to find out if you ask your friends? She is an ADA" Carrie pointed out. "San is an ADA for the special victims unit. This wouldn't go through that office. Now that we have the video, I think it's okay to tell her." Quinn said. "I'll tell her, I think it's better coming from me," Brett said. Everyone nodded.
"Before you leave I want to show you something," Carrie said. She motioned for Quinn and Brett to follow her to the back. "Aaron is going to be mad that I got to show you but I don't care. I am too excited" Carrie said in a giddy tone. She stopped in front of one of the doors. "Open it!" Carrie said. Brett slowly opened the door. In the middle of the room was a big desk with a chair fit for an executive. "The office looks nice, but where is the other desk?" Brett asked. "My desk is with Aaron's in the other office. This one is all for you" Carrie explained. Quinn smiled big. "You guys made me my own office?" Brett asked. "Yeah! we made our office smaller so you could have your own" she said.
Aaron walked in behind them, "you showed him without me?" he asked his wife. "Why did you guys do this for me?" Brett asked, looking between his two friends. "We thought that since you are around maybe you could take over a management role" Aaron explained. "That way I can actually have my husband home at a decent time some nights," Carrie said laughing. "That is amazing" Quinn exclaimed. Brett ran his hand over the large desk, "My own office" he whispered. "all yours man" Aaron said patting him on the back. Brett couldn't believe that this was happening to him. I guess all good that has happened recently really does make up for all the bad.
Brett and Quinn were setting the table for dinner. The front door opened and closed quickly. "It smells amazing in here!" Santana said, throwing her bags on one of the empty seats. "Tana go change and I'll make you a plate," Brett yelled from the kitchen. Santana quickly changed into one of Brett's shirts and sweatpants. One of her favorite parts of the day is being able to take her bra off and throw on comfy clothes.
Santana made her way back out into the common area where Brett and Quinn were already sitting. "Hey Q" San said, kissing her cheek, "hey B" she said, peaking his lips before taking a seat. "I love your spaghetti," Santana said, shoveling a fork full into her mouth. Quinn and Brett were both laughing. "Someone is hungry," Brett said. Santana swallowed her bite, "I had to skip lunch because they found another body," she explained. "The guy killed another person?" Quinn asked. "No, it looks like this is just an old body that we didn't find. It sucks that his body count is higher but at least he hasn't killed in a while" Santana said. "Or you just haven't found the new bodies," Quinn pointed out. "Thanks, Q," San said.
"How was everyone else's day?" Santana asked, looking between her boyfriend and best friend. Just like Quinn, Santana was an expert on reading people. She watched as the two gave each other a look. "What are you two keeping from me?" she asked. "We aren't keeping anything from you," Quinn said. "It just happened today and this is the first time we saw you" Brett added. "So what happened?" San asked. Quinn pulled the USB drive out of her pocket and slid it across the table. "What's on this?" She asked.
"Brett, Carrie, and I went to the bar across the street from the gym. The owner told us that the cops told him to erase his security footage but he didn't. On that is evidence that Sebastian and his friends from Dalton broke into the gym" Quinn explained. "You're kidding, are you sure it's him?" Santana asked. Brett nodded, "It is so clear. You can't even argue that it's not Sebastian." Brett said. "You guys got him," Santana said smiling. "There is only one problem, The cops will bury this. You and I both know how much power they have" Quinn pointed out. "What are you going to do?" Santana asked. "My old mentor works at the criminal district attorney's office. I was going to go down there and see what she thinks we should do." Quinn said. "This could be really bad. Exposing a surgeon and the police department for trying to cover up a crime" Santana said. "It's worth it, Sebastian deserves to rot," Brett said. Quinn nodded, "It is worth looking into and seeing what she thinks," Quinn said. "If you need anything just let me know," Santana said, smiling. "Just keep your dad off our asses," Quinn said laughing. "I'll try but he won't stop being an ass to me." San groaned. "What did he do now?" Brett asked.
"I went to check on our dresses at the tailor which by the way they will be delivered tomorrow. Well, the seamstress told me that my father called and asked about my dress. I think he was trying to figure out what it looks like so that Sebastian can match me at the gala." Santana explained. "Did she tell him?" Quinn asked. "No, but she lied and told him that Sebastian should wear a gray suit which will not match me at all," Sanatana said laughing. "I love that lady," Quinn added. "What do your dresses look like?" Brett asked. "I am not telling you either, it's a surprise," Santana said. "I am actually supposed to be your date which means I need to know so that I can match" he pointed out. "Awww Brett you actually think that Santana is going to let you pick out your own suit," Quinn said laughing. "Yeah babe, I already got everything together for your suit" Santana explained.
"Puck and I were going to look at suits tomorrow," Brett said which made both the girls laugh harder. "Puck's suit is at the dry cleaners with yours. He knows this so I guess he was just trying to get you to hang out" Quinn explained. "Whatever less work for me and if it makes you happy," Brett said to Santana, making her smile.
"We were at the gym today and they gave me my own office," Brett said. Santana could tell that he was really excited to tell her. "That is amazing!" she said. "Brett is going to be a new manager" Quinn added, she was proud of her brother and wanted to brag. "I am so excited for you! I can't wait to come and see your office." Santana said. "It isn't as nice as yours," Brett said. "Don't compare it to mine. I know it is going to be amazing because it is yours and that is all that matters" Santana said squeezing his hand. "Now we just need to get Puck his own office," Brett said. Quinn laughed, "his office is his truck, that thing is his baby" Quinn explained.
"Speaking of Puck, have you guys talked to him lately?" Brett asked. "No why?" They asked. "I stopped by his place this morning and he had an interesting conversation," he said. "When has a conversation with Puck ever been interesting" Santana laughed. "That is my boyfriend" Quinn pointed out, making San roll her eyes. "Well Mike is moving in with Tina and Puck asked me to be his roommate" Brett announced. Quinn smiled, "that is great! You can finally have a place of your own!"
Brett looked at Santana and saw right through her smile. "You don't need to move out," she said. "I know I don't but I've never really had a place to go. It would be nice to have somewhere that is in my name" Brett tried to explain. "I'm proud of you Brett. Puck is going to be so excited, I think he kinda looks up to you" Quinn said, grabbing everyone's plate. Santana was still quiet but Quinn kept going on and on about how great it was that she and San could have girl's night again. Once everything was cleaned up and Brett got ready for bed then climbed into Santana's bed. She was still in the bathroom getting herself ready.
Santana walked in and shut the door. She flipped on the lamp and climbed into bed without saying anything. Santana laid with her head facing away from Brett who was still sitting up against the headboard because he thought they were going to talk. That's what they usually do before bed. "Tana," Brett said. But Santana didn't respond. "Tana babe, what did I do?" He asked. "Were you even going to ask me what I thought?" she said. "Thought about what?" Brett asked, confused. Santana quickly got up and wiped around so she could face him, "About moving out. Were you going to ask me what I thought about it or was I just going to come home and your stuff was going to be gone" Santana said, looking upset.
Brett was kinda taken back, not expecting that reaction. "I guess I just figured that it would be a good change," he said. "So you don't like living with me?" Santana asked. Brett quickly shook his head, that is not what he meant at all. "Of course I like living with you. My favorite part of the day is getting to go to bed with you" Brett explained. "Then why would you want to move out?" she asked, trying to understand his reasoning without getting mad.
"I never really had any place to go that was mine. When Puck asked me I guess I just got excited that I would have a place that my name was on the lease. A home, you know?" Brett said. "You don't think of this place like home?" San asked. "I can assure you that this is the closest I have ever had to a home, but it's your place," Brett said, trying to get through to her. Santana slowly nodded, "so this has nothing to do with me?" she asked. "Absolutely not. We jumped into this very quickly which I am okay with. But we both know that if I wasn't Quinn's brother, we would not be living together right now" he explained. Santana knew Brett was right. In normal circumstances they wouldn't be living together when they just started dating, so why was this bothering her so much?
Just like Santana, Brett could also read people very well; especially his girlfriend. Brett lifted his hand up and tucked the piece of hair that fell from her messy bun behind her ear. "Tana, baby. What is this really about? Something is bothering you and you can tell me" Brett said sincerely. "I guess I am being selfish. I like being able to wake up in your arms and being able to have sex when I want" Santana said. The last part made Brett laugh. He could tell that she was still holding something back. "I believe what you're saying but I know there is more" he pointed out. Santana groaned, she was hoping that Brett would accept her answer.
"I am worried about you, okay?" Santana said, kinda yelling. Brett looked at her confused, "what are you worried about?" he asked. "If you move to Puck's, who is going to wake you up if you're having a nightmare? Who is going to stop you from leaving in the middle of the night?" Santana asked, a tear rolling down her cheek. Brett wanted to reach out and pull her close but she kept talking. "I can't sleep when I know that you are struggling. Even that time you left the apartment and we were not even together; I couldn't sleep knowing you were out there Brett. How the hell am I supposed to sleep knowing that you are somewhere else. I wouldn't know if you were having a nightmare or if you are running around the city." She explained completely out of breath.
That is what has Santana so upset, she is worried about Brett. Brett smiled, "What the hell did I do to deserve someone as great as you" he whispered. "I am sorry Santana. You shouldn't be worrying about me. If you don't want me to move out then I won't. But I promise that if I do, I will not go out to Riverside Park. I know that I have said this before but I will call you if my nightmares are bad." Brett said, trying to make his girlfriend feel better. Santana nodded.
She still isn't sure about the whole thing. Santana wants Brett to be happy and if him moving out makes him happy, then, of course, she would want that for him. Santana has just gotten so used to their routine that a part of her doesn't want it to change.
"There is just one more thing that I think we need to think about," Brett said. Santana looked at him confused. "I am going to be deployed," he said. Hearing him say that even though they have had this conversation, makes Santana's stomach churn. "Which means you need to be okay living without me and without knowing exactly where I am," Brett explained. Santana never thought of that. She knew he was going to leave but he was in special ops. Which meant his missions are usually classified, so there is a chance that Santana wouldn't even know what country her boyfriend was in. That scared her even more than him living at Puck's.
"I get it. You should be able to have a place to call home. We completely skipped steps and started living together before normal couples usually take that step. It is going to take some time to get used to but I think it is a good idea, if that will make you happy" Santana finally said. Brett reached out and pulled her close, squeezing her tight. "Thank you, baby," he said, making Santana giggle. "You better not forget about me," Santana said. "I could never forget you," he said, kissing her.
Brett started kissing her from her lips to her ear, making Santana smile. "As for the sex thing, I will always make time for that," he said. Santana smirked and pulled back so she could see his face. "Anytime I want?" she asked. "Absolutely," Brett said. Santana ran her finger slowly down his chest. "So if I call you in the middle of the night. Telling you that I am naked and fingering myself. Then I start begging you to come over and fuck me. You'll stop what you're doing and come service me?" Santana asked, cocking her eyebrow. She could tell that she was turning Brett on just by what she was saying.
"Santana" Brett groaned. "What?" she asked, innocently. "Are you picturing me fingering myself? Because if you are, I could give you a sneak peek" Santana said slowly moving her hand down to the front of her sweatpants. Brett quickly grabbed her sweatpants and pulled them off in one swift motion. Santana squealed and started laughing as Brett kissed her neck. Neither realized that Quinn had gotten up to go to the bathroom. Quinn banged on the door. The sudden sound made them both stop in their tracks. "I can hear you guys! What the hell did I say about fucking when I was home!" Quinn yelled. Santana couldn't control her laughter so she pushed her face into Brett's chest, anything to try and stifle the sound. "Goodnight Q" Brett yelled, laughing. Quinn groaned and slammed the bathroom door.
Both Brett and Santana broke out in hysterical laughter. "This is all your fault," Brett said, rolling off of Santana onto his back. She tossed her arm over his waist and looked up at him. "How the hell is this my fault?" she asked. "Because now I can't help but think of you fingering yourself," Brett said. The bathroom door opened and Quinn walked out. Quinn banged on their door again, "you better not wake me up" she yelled before retreating back to her room.
They both laughed. "Next time I'll let you watch," Santana whispered. Brett's eyes got really wide, "Promise?" he asked, excited. "Promise," she said giggling.
*Friday*
Santana groaned, laying back on Brett's new bed in his new apartment. "What are you moaning about?" Brett asked as he sorted out his boxes. "I am tired, it's been a long day helping you move," She said. Brett chuckled, "What are you talking about? Santana, you brought up one box then drank a glass of wine with Quinn," he said. "Exactly, tiring," Santana said, leaning on her elbow so she could watch him.
Brett pulled out a collared shirt from one of the boxes. "What the hell is on that shirt?" she asked. Brett looked at the shirt, "it's little boats" he said. "Throw that thing away, it's hideous," San said. "There is nothing wrong with this shirt," Brett exclaimed. "I will not be caught dead with you in that shirt," She said. "Are you serious?" he asked, laughing. "Me or the shirt," San said. Brett just shook his head and threw the shirt in the trash barrel. Brett pulled another shirt out of the box. "Before you say anything, I like this shirt," Brett explained, making Santana smirk.
"That shirt is fine," Santana said while he put it on a hanger. "How does it feel to finally have a closet to yourself," She asked as he put his clothes away. "It actually feels good. I have always lived out of a suitcase so this feels like I hit the lottery" Brett explained. "Are you excited for the gala tomorrow night?" Santana asked. "Actually I am. I can't wait to see your dress." He exclaimed. Santana smiled. Out of all the years that she has gone to this thing, this year's dress is by far her favorite. "I think you are really going to like it," she replied. "Of course I am going to like it. I would be turned on if you showed up in a trash bag" Brett chuckled. Santana just shook her head and laughed.
Brett pulled something out of the box that caught Santana's eye. "What is that?" she asked. Brett showed it to her, "It's that expensive bottle of wine that I hid under the couch." he explained. "I forgot about that!" San exclaimed. "So did I but I found some of my stuff under the couch and the bottle was pushed all the way up against the wall," Brett said, handing it over. "Want to crack it open?" he asked. Santana looked down at the bottle then back up to her boyfriend. "I think we should save it for a special occasion," she said. "What occasion?" Brett asked. "I don't know yet but I'll let you know when I know," San said. Brett took the bottle and hid it in the closet, "Deal" he said.
She looked at the time and realized that it was starting to get late. "Are you staying here tonight?" San asked. "I think so. Puck and I are going to watch the hockey game that's on tonight so it would make more sense to just spend the night. Plus all my stuff is finally here so I am officially all moved in." Brett explained, still unpacking. "I can't believe that it's going to be my first night in my own apartment," he added looking over at his girlfriend. Santana forced a smile on her face.
"Hey what is with the face?" he asked. "I am not making a face," she quickly said. "Yes you are, your face reads like a book," Brett said with a chuckle. "I know I agreed to this but I take it back. I don't want you to move out anymore" Santana said. "Well it's a little late for that," he said, finally finishing unpacking a box. Santana loudly groaned. "We are literally going to be together tomorrow night since you are sleeping here," Brett said pulling Santana off the bed so she was standing in front of him. "We aren't sleeping at my place?" she asked. Brett shook his head. "I told Puck to sleep there so we can have this apartment to ourselves. I wanted to be able to have my beautiful girlfriend over to my place" He said with a big smile as he snuck his arms around her waist.
Santana smiled, even though she is going to miss having him in bed every night; the smile on Brett's face makes it all worth it. "You're very own place" San whispered. Brett nodded slowly, "A place where you can be as loud as you want" Brett winked. San slapped his chest, "Hey!" she said. "I would say I am kidding but I'm not" he laughed.
Quinn knocked on the door, "Hey San let's go!" she yelled.
"I'll pick you up tomorrow for the gala," Brett said to her. She nodded, "I am going to miss you tonight, who am I supposed to cuddle up with?" San asked, holding Brett around the waist. "I left my pillow on your bed for you," Brett explained. Santana smiled really wide, "You did?" she asked. "You need something to hug since I will not be there, so the next best thing is my pillow," he said. "You're the best" Santana whispered, slipping her arms around his waist and hugging him, Brett leaned down and kissed the top of her head.
"You need to go before Quinn starts yelling," Brett said into San's hair. She groaned and pulled back knowing he was right. Brett and Santana walked out of his room to the living room. Quinn was pulling on her coat. Brett helped San into her coat. "Good night Brett, love you, Puck," Quinn said, giving them both a hug. Once Quinn walked out Brett turned to his girlfriend. He pulled her into a tight hug. Brett whispered in her ear while holding her, "I left you a gift in your room" he said. Santana pulled back and lifted her eyebrows. "It's nothing like that but I think you will like it," he said, laughing. " I'll see you tomorrow, make sure you're up by noon," Brett said to San. "I will be, night baby," Santana said leaning up and kissing him. She walked out the door, "Goodnight Santana, love you too" Puck yelled. The guys could hear her scoff from down the hall.
Brett grabbed them beers and they sat on the couch. "I am so glad you took me up on this offer. I did not want to have a stranger as a roommate" Puck said, taking a long swig. "I think I am going to like this too," Brett laughed. "Is everything all set for tomorrow?" Puck asked. Brett nodded, "I had Mercedes make them hair and makeup appointments plus, manicures and pedicures." Brett explained. "Did you get a driver?" he asked. Puck nodded, "Even better, Kurt is doing it. All I had to do is set him up with one of my plumber buddies" Puck explained. "Perfect, they will probably like that so much better than a stranger driving them around," Brett said.
"What about the flowers?" Puck asked. "I finished up at Ginny's shop yesterday. She put together 2 beautiful bouquets for them" he said. Puck smiled, "They are going to be so surprised, I can't wait to see their face" he added.
The guys chilled on the couch watching the hockey game while drinking a few beers. "You know what I just realized," Puck said, breaking the comfortable silence. "What?" he asked. "You are probably going to meet Santana's parents tomorrow," Puck said with a smirk. He watched as Brett got really nervous, it read all over his face. "Fuck" he mumbled. "What are they like?" Brett asked. "I thought Russell was bad then I met Santana's dad" Puck explained. "Russell is a dick but he always supported Quinn. Carlos Lopez on the other hand always took the opportunity to tear his daughter down. That is one of the reasons why I think San is so strong. She needed to stand up for herself" He said. Brett nodded, "well he has met his match. I am done standing around and watching people tear down my family. Fuck Russell and fuck Carlos." he said. Puck smiled, "Cheers to that" he replied, raising his beer.
Santana was quiet the entire way home, even as she walked through the front door. "Come on San. You haven't said one word to me the entire night. Did I do something wrong?" Quinn asked. "No," San groaned, "I just miss Brett," she admitted. Quinn smiled, "Awww San, you'll see him tomorrow," she said. Santana sighed and fell on the couch. "I am ridiculous Q. I should be happy that he has his own place. But here I am upset that I am going to crawl into bed tonight and Brett will not be there" she explained.
Quinn sat next to her best friend. She knew that when Santana started talking, there was no stopping her. "I have never felt like this Quinn, towards anyone," San said with a giggle. "I know he is your brother and this may be a little TMI but you're my best friend so you need to listen. On Thanksgiving after our quickie in the bathroom, I was going to tell him." She said. Quinn's eyes got big, wondering where in the hell her friend was going with her little spiel "It was perfect and slow, we fit together as if we were made for each other." Santana said. She finally made eye contact with her best friend. "I love him, Quinn," Santana admitted.
Quinn couldn't believe her ears. Never in a million years did she think Santana was going to fall in love with anyone, especially her brother. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Santana asked. "You just admitted that you're in love!" Quinn squealed. Santana smiled, "I know," she said. "What did Brett say? " Quinn said, clapping. "I didn't tell him," San admitted. Quinn looked at her dumbfounded, "WHY?" Santana laughed, "I just want to make sure the time is right." she said. "Anytime is right as long as you say it and mean it" Quinn pointed out. Santana laughed, "that is not true," she said. "Yes it is, the first time I told Puck I loved him was during a fight. Not just any fight, a screaming match. Not the best moment but it meant everything to both of us. Made for some great make-up sex" Quinn explained.
Santana shook her head and laughed at her best friend. She turned more serious, "How did you know that you were ready to tell Puck?" Santana asked. "I don't even think I know that. It just kinda happened in the heat of the moment" Quinn explained. "Did he say it back?" she asked. "Of course he did," Quinn exclaimed. "What if Brett doesn't say it back?" San asked. Quinn looked at her best friend with a smile. It was so cute seeing Santana like this. "He will, I can see the way he looks at you. Brett is definitely in love with you" Quinn said making Santana smile.
The girls stayed up for a little while before deciding to go to bed. They needed to be up tomorrow and these galas usually run late so they will be up late tomorrow. Santana did her nightly bathroom routine before walking into her room. She turned on the lamp on instinct before he realized that it didn't need to be on. Brett wasn't there. Santana decided to leave it on, it made her feel as if he was there, plus she got kinda used to it.
She pulled off her jeans and shirt. Then opened up her pajama drawer. There folded on the top was a note. Santana grabbed it and read it quickly.
Tana,
I know how you like to sleep in my clothes so I made sure to leave a few shirts behind. Don't worry I will call if I have a nightmare. Goodnight beautiful.

Santana smiled wide and grabbed the shirt. She slipped it on inhaling the scent. It smelled exactly like her boyfriend. If she had to guess, he must have worn it before leaving it for her which made it even better. Santana grabbed her phone and settled in her bed. Santana grabbed his pillow and hugged it while she hit her boyfriend's name on her phone, deciding to facetime him.
Brett's cute face came up on her screen. "You couldn't even last a few hours," he said, laughing. "Shut up" San giggled. "I see you found my gift," Brett said, noticing the shirt she was wearing. "Thank you for that," she smiled. "Anything for you," Brett replied. "Did I disturb you and Puck's guy's night?" San asked. "Not at all. The game just finished so I am in bed," he explained. Santana pouted, "I wish I was in your bed" she whispered. Brett couldn't help but laugh at her puppy dog face. "You are so adorable right now," he said. "I am supposed to look sad which means you are supposed to feel bad and come over" Santana explained. "Tana, it's the first night" Brett pointed out. "How about I let you peek at what's under your shirt?" She said, slowly raising the shirt letting Brett see her toned stomach.
"Tana" Brett groaned, "Please don't, I won't be able to control myself," he said. Santana sighed and put her shirt back down. "Fine, but can you stay with me while I fall asleep?" she asked. Brett smiled, "I am not going anywhere" he whispered. Both Brett and Santana set the phone up so they could see each other without holding it. Santana had her eyes closed and Brett just watched her. It wasn't creepy or anything, Brett just could help but notice how beautiful she was. In no time, Brett could hear her little snores. "Goodnight Tana, sweet dreams" he whispered before hanging up.
*Next up the Hospital Fundraising Gala! I have decided that my next story is definitely going to be a Brett and Santana story. I think the focus is going to be more on Santana but not sure what it will be about just yet. I hope you guys liked it! Please keep reviewing, I love reading them*
