Chapter 28

The group arrived at the field and saw students enjoying the games. Kay geared up, and looked at the group from St. Gloriana and wondered if they would be up for joining the game. They were all wearing skinny jeans and t-shirts even Darjeeling after she changed into the clothes Assam brought over for her. The group was watching interestingly but didn't ask to join.

"Hey, do any of you want to join in?" Kay asked them.

"I want to, though, I don't have the gear for it." Rosehip said with excitement. "I don't want to ask anyone either."

"Oh. I think someone has some back up that they would be willing to let you borrow." Kay suggested.

"Really? Thank you!"

"No problem. Hey Helmet-Chan, Didn't you bring that sten that you got recently?" Kay asked the girl.

"Yeah, I was going to use something else anyway."

Rosehip went over to the girl digging through a duffle bag full of gear. She looked at the gear laid out on the table. Helmet held up a vest and mumbled something and then put it on the table with the goggles, facemask, gloves, and the extra helmet. Rosehip was impressed at the amount of stuff the girl had. She looked over at Assam who was smiling at her. She smiled back.

"Alright, Rosehip, I am going to help you with getting the gear set up and teach you how to use the gun. Sounds good?" Helmet said

"Alright, I do want to say thanks for helping me out."

"Sure thing. Now, go ahead, put the vest, gloves, facemask, goggles, and the helmet on." She said as Rosehip geared up, "Now, as for the gun, this is based on the WW2 British Sten MK. II. The mags here hold 60 rounds. I have 5 of them loaded and ready to go. When you get hit it will sting for a second, but you'll have to return to your respawn point. To shoot, just turn off the safety and aim at the target. We will get bands to tell who's on your team or not. Did you get all that?"

"Yeah, I got everything."

"Alright, we got a few minutes before the game starts, So if you want to talk to your friends then go ahead"

"Thank you for the help. Can I leave the gear here until the match starts?"

"Oh, yeah. Sorry, I forgot that we have a bit. Just don't forget to get it back on."

Rosehip took off the helmet, goggles, and facemask. She walked back to her friends minus Darjeeling who was dragged off by Kay. They hung out for the little bit of time left before the game. Rosehip was stating how excited she was to play and Assam smiled at her. The speaker stated that the next game was about to start. Rosehip raced off to get her gear on. The rest of the group saw Darjeeling in gear with Kay.

The game started and the game was an infected game mode where if you got hit three times by the opposite team you join the team. Kay and Naomi were part of the infection team. The game started with a blast of a whistle. Rosehip, Alisa, and a few others took shelter in a makeshift building. Helmet-Chan joined them and told them that she had a plan. She pointed to another building that was more defendable. While they were talking Kay had got a burst of rounds into the building hitting Helmet-Chan, Alisa, and two of the others. Rosehip decided to take the chance to take out Kay and fired at the general area that the bb's came from. After another burst Kay declared that she was hit and returned to her spawn.

"Nice shot. Are you sure this is your first time playing Airsoft?" one of the girls in the building asked

"Thanks. When should we move to the building?" Rosehip asked

"I don't know, depends on how many have been infected."

"Five have been infected, and ten on their second respawn." Alisa said returning to the cove, "So we should move to the other building. Let's go two at a time, that way you have someone watching your back."

"Sounds good. Rosehip, want to go with me or wait?"

"I'll go with you", Alissa said. The two moved to position and soon they rushed over to the building. They were soon joined by Helmet-chan and another girl. The others were hit and switched to the other team. The game had 10 minutes left and the four girls were running low on ammo and gas. Rosehip was hit and returned to her spawn point. The game ended with only two survivors left.
