"Where's Bongo Bongo?" asked Sonic. He saw a hole and walked over it, but the hover boots stopped him from falling. "He must be down there," said Sonic. "I'll never get to him by walking on air. I'll have to think fast if I don't want to get hurt. Stepping away from the hole, Sonic took the hover boots off, then he jumped into the hole. As he was falling, he quickly put the hover boots back on, so when he landed on the drum like platform below, he didn't bounce too much. When two hands stomped on the floor, Sonic hardly bounced at all. The hover boots softened the impact of the stomping hands. Sonic looked up and saw Bongo Bongo's one big eye. He shot one of the hands with his arrows, then his eye. As Bongo Bongo got stunned, Sonic ran over and slashed his eye with his sword. He repeated this one more time until Bongo Bongo was taken down. He stomped rapidly, then disappeared in a cloud of smoke. Sonic saw a portal appear in front of him, then stepped through it.

When Sonic was warped into the Chamber of the Sages, Impa appeared. "The hedgehog with the noble Zelda's ocarina. As I expected, you have come," she said. "You think Zelda is noble?" asked Sonic. "Yes," replied Impa. "I wanted to ask you about the dark clouds I saw seven years ago? Did you make it cloudy with your weather powers?" asked Sonic. "No, Sonic," said Impa. "Those dark clouds were Ganondorf's doing. He suddenly attacked the castle, so I took Zelda out of his reach. But don't worry. She's safe now."

"Do you know where she is right now?" asked Sonic hopefully. "I cannot tell you her whereabouts just yet, Sonic," said Impa. "But when the time is right, you'll meet her face to face and she will tell you everything. By the way, I'm the sage of the shadow temple, and I have something for you as a sign of my gratitude. Take this medallion with you." She handed Sonic the shadow medallion which he put around his neck. Now, Impa was awakened as a sage and her power was added to Sonic's.

"Please look out for the princess."
