28. The Aschen Precedent

You know, something just occurred to me. If races like the Aschen and the Tollan could exist undiscovered for so long until they got advanced, why couldn't another group of humans do it? Or a race of aliens even?

So my thought is this. How about an AU story about a race of humans or aliens that doesn't get discovered by anyone, and thus advances enough to take the galaxy by storm themselves? Could be interesting right?

Perhaps this race is like the Aschen, and didn't have Stargates on their worlds for some reason, or at least had lost their DHD's. Where could things go once they get advanced enough, especially considering they didn't go through the dark ages like we did, so would be a lot farther along. What if they had Naquadah? What would an advanced human race do with the stuff without outside influence from the Alterans or Guauld? Could make for an interesting story, yeah?
