Author's Note
Here it is, the final chapter of my first ever fan fiction!
Thank you so much for sticking with me to the end, I am grateful to each and every one of you and wish you all the very best in everything you do in life and love. I have loved every minute of writing about the lives of these characters and while I'm excited to share this ending with you I'm also sad to see the end of the story. (Yes I am definitely crying right now).
That's why I'm already working on writing a sequel following Charlie and Ashlynn, their friends, family and, of course, the young ones as they grow up around the reserve and head off to Hogwarts, but I will be working on my other fics for a while too so please follow/favourite this story and/or me to be notified of the sequel as I'll post a note on here when I'm ready to launch it.
Please do check out my other fanfics on my page too in the meantime, especially the one called "You and I" which overlaps with this fic where some of these characters will move to (so if you want to see the future of this fic before I get the sequel up then check that one out!)
Sending you all wishes of love and prosperity in all that you do,
Your Wishin' Girl x x x
...
"Today's the day!" Ashlynn's voice rang out determined across their top floor bedroom as the sun rose lazily over the early morning mountains and the wide still lake reflected the morning sky's rose tinted glow.
"Hugh, what's wrong? Are you alright?" Charlie snapped awake beside her, sitting up abruptly and running his hands over her in panic.
"Today is the day!" She repeated in glee, slowly pushing herself out of bed and padding over to their bedroom's balcony to enjoy the lingering warmth of the late summer air.
"I know we're usually early risers love but neither of us has to work today, come back to sleep." He begged as he followed her and pawed at her silky nightgown that flowed comfortably around her swollen belly.
"No, today is my due date and even though the muggle doctor said first births are usually late the magical healer said that twins are usually early so I say we split the difference and today's the day!" She pushed herself away from the window and back towards the bed, before starting to fuss with the blankets in the double width Moses basket standing on a rocker base by her side of the bed.
"Fine, let's get you showered then." After several months of getting it wrong Charlie now knew when not to argue with her and when his wife was nine months pregnant with his already very active twins it was definitely a time not to argue.
He helped her through to their enormous walk in shower, the bathroom was cool and decorated with slate tiles and succulents that adored the steamy atmosphere so it was a calming start to the long day ahead. She got dressed in a floaty summer maternity dress and settled down in their lounge to eat the healthy breakfast Charlie had made for them as the couple cuddled together to watch the lake wake up before them. Sleepy Welsh Greens swept down for a morning dip in the cool waters while the lake's fish swarmed away from the huge beasts in equally large shoals and the varied bird life sang enchanting melodies to welcome the start of a new day. The loved up couple spent the first part of their morning cuddling together in various locations around the house while Charlie read to his wife and unborn children, changing location every time it became uncomfortable for Ashlynn's wriggling stomach since the twins were being very active as usual, and making the most of what could well be their last morning of quiet together.
By mid morning however, Ashlynn was clearly fed up that nothing seemed to be happening still.
"We need to get this kick started." She announced with a huff after changing positions for the fifth time in three minutes. "Childbirth can take hours and I only have fourteen hours left to get them out today!"
"They're just so…" Charlie began with a gooey eyed look at his beloved.
"Don't you dare finish that sentence with something sweet like comfortable or happy inside me, Charlie Weasley, because I will cry and then we're both useless because you know as well as I do that once I'm crying you'll start!" Ashlynn admonished firmly.
Charlie nodded at his scolding and suggested they check in the muggle books for safe ways to encourage labour which seemed to go down as a very good suggestion so he led her through to the snug and settled comfortably into the lilac velvet armchair while he gathered the relevant books from the nearby shelves.
"So this one recommends spicy food and a walk, Hondo makes a killer Egyptian curry that you love. How about we take a walk over to his place for an early lunch?" Charlie suggested as he flicked through the pages of the third book he'd searched so far for tips.
Ashlynn's eyes lit up at the idea of getting labour started, enjoying the late summer forest around their home and getting to eat one of her friend's amazing hot curries. Charlie grabbed their hospital bag just in case and helped her to put on her favourite vans before sending Hondo a patronus message. It would take their friend around an hour to make the curry but that wasn't an issue as it took Ashlynn nearly two to make it through the reserve's forest, carefully traversing tree roots and stopping to admire each beautiful patch of the flora and fauna on their way. Late summer flowers had started to bloom in the undergrowth adding splashes of yellows, oranges and reds to the spectrum of green and the young deer became more daring as they reached a few months old so the couple met several young stags and does carefully picking their own paths through the undergrowth and tree roots.
Unfortunately even after the violently spicy curry and very long walk home again Ashlynn's water still hadn't broken, although she was getting cramps that felt a lot like the Braxton Hicks she had been experiencing for well over a week.
"Is there anything else we can do?" Ashlynn was now back in the snug again bouncing on a blow up yoga ball as Charlie flipped through book after book to find more suggestions in the early afternoon.
"We've tried everything." He sighed and placed the final book back on the shelf "I'm sorry my love."
"Well, there is one more thing that might speed it along. It's not in the books but my Mum told me it worked for her with the three of us." Ashlynn blushed, aware that Charlie was usually very adventurous in this area but not quite sure how he would feel about this.
"Let's try it!" Charlie exclaimed, he didn't really mind what it was his wife wanted to do now he just wanted to make sure she was happy and if trying whatever this was would make her happy then he would do absolutely anything for her.
"Help me shower again first I'm all sticky from the walk" Ashlynn requested and Charlie helped her up from her seat and into their bathroom again.
"Will you tell me what it is yet love?" He asked as she turned on the water and he helped to remove her dress and knickers.
"I'll tell you in the shower if you help me wash" she replied casually dropping her soft bralette to the floor and missing the lustful eyes her husband sent her way at the sight of his soul mate, wife and woman carrying his babies standing naked before him.
Charlie quickly stripped and joined her under the water, lathering up his hands with coconut soap and running them around her many curves. The action reminded him of their holiday in Greece on the night he proposed, so much had happened since that day just over a year before and he was ecstatic with where life was taking him.
"Will you tell me now please love?" he asked again as he devotedly rinsed off the last of the coconut suds from her soft skin.
"Sex." She stated confidently with a disarmingly sexy smirk.
"S… Sex?" He stuttered and her self confidence would have been knocked if she hadn't seen his cock inflate instantly at the suggestion.
"Yes, it's supposed to induce labour" she stated in a matter of fact tone before running her tongue along his clenched jaw.
"Are… are you sure? You haven't wanted to in a while…" Charlie's brain and body were currently waging war but while he was concerned for her well being his heart was backing up his brain allowing that to win for now "it's been just over a week since I've even touched you there my love won't I hurt you?"
"I'm sure, I really do want this Charlie Weasley." Ashlynn slid her hand down to the now fully erect penis throbbing against her pregnant stomach in anticipation.
"Love, if you want me to last long enough for sex you're going to have to not touch me because you are literally the sexiest thing in the world right now." He growled in her ear and ran his hands up and down her body eliciting small mewls and whispered expressions of love from her parted lips. "Turn around and hold onto the wall Ashlynn love"
She turned under the flow of warm water, spreading her feet and planting her hands against the cool slate tiles, the warm water cascaded down her aching lower back providing relief as Charlie wedged his arm between her thigh and baby bump and began to flick and tweak her already eager clit. Within seconds of his attentions she was on the verge of her first orgasm and came screaming his name as he buried himself inside her. The taste of copper filled his mouth as he bit down on his tongue to hold himself together as her walls fluttered and clamped at his entry. This was easily the sexiest thing they had ever done in his opinion and having abstained for a few weeks made it even harder for him to maintain a grasp on control.
"Move" she begged after coming down from her first orgasm and he began to slowly pump inside her. They had both been aching for this release and intimacy for a while so within minutes she was back on the edge fluttering around him, the feel of her soft walls moving and the sound of her impending orgasm tipped Charlie over his own edge and he came showering her internal walls with his seed, the perfect way to bookend the pregnancy in his opinion. The feel of her husband filling her so intimately dragged Ashlynn over the cliff of orgasm too and she came tight around him, milking him for everything he had to offer. As they both calmed down and Charlie slowly pulled out of her a fresh gush of liquid coated Ashlynn's thighs.
"Are you still going my love?" He asked smugly at the release that flowed down with the shower water, immediately wrapping her up in his arms and reaching back down to continue for her if she wanted him to.
"No. I think my water just broke."
...
"I hate you Charlie Fucking Weasley!" Ashlynn's screams filled their private room in London's St Mungo's maternity ward at ten o'clock on the first night of September, exactly nine months and one day after their wedding in the dragon filled Romanian Mountains.
"I know love, it's all my fault that we're here but I love you so much and you are so incredible. Push for me Ashlynn love, push" coached Charlie from his place sat behind her, his arms and legs wrapped around her in an offer of support.
She had been in labour for hours and had just been given the go ahead by the magical midwives to finally push. Charlie sat behind her on the bed coaching as best he could, desperately trying to remember all the information he had read in his many books and everything he had learned in the muggle birthing classes that they had taken together over the summer.
"It's time now Mrs Weasley, just a few more pushes and you'll officially be a mother." The midwife encouraged supportively from between Ashlynn's shaking knees.
"I can't. I can't do it." Ashlynn wept in despair "Charlie you do it for me."
"You can do it love, I believe in you. I'm so proud of you, you're so powerful and wonderful and amazing!" He promised in her ear, peppering kisses along her sweaty neck as she panted in exhaustion.
"Let's try another position" the midwife suggested patiently and helped Charlie move Ashlynn up onto all fours to ease the pain and pressure a little. "Now push Ashlynn, you can do this. Push!"
Another scream rent the air as her next contraction hit her like a truck.
…
"They're here! Two healthy baby boys with twenty tiny fingers and twenty tiny toes and Ash is doing great. So great! She was so amazing I don't know how she did it but she's sleeping now and I have my sons! Two babies! I'm a Dad!" Charlie danced around the waiting room filled with assorted Weasley and Bird family members who all beamed in joy and celebrated with the new father before he dashed off again running straight back into the room housing his little family without another word.
"May we come in?" the four new grandparents asked tentatively as they stuck their heads in through the door an hour later to find a tired but happy Ashlynn feeding one of her new tiny bundles of joy and Charlie rocking the other in his arms. His eyes, filled with tears of pure happiness and love, flitted between the child in his arms, his sleepy looking wife and the feeding baby on her chest, unsure of who to look at right now and overflowing with his love for all three of them.
The two proud Weasleys, Molly and Arthur, and two proud Birds, Eimear and Taylor, quietly entered the room at Ashlynn's smile and nod.
"This is Lorcan Taylor Weasley, it means fierce one" she lifted the well fed baby from her chest and handed him to her father who welled up at holding not only his grandson but also his namesake "and with Charlie is Finley Arthur Weasley, meaning pure fighter."
Molly accepted the tiny bundle from her second oldest son with equally tear filled eyes, so that Charlie could join his wife on the bed, kissing her temple as they watched their family fawn over the newest additions. An exhausted but happy Ashlynn fell asleep right there and then in her husband's arms.
...
A few days later the small family came home to the dragon reserve and were soon inundated with friends and family offering their babysitting services and showering them with useful gifts for the new parents, Teddy and for the baby twins. Teddy was brilliant with the newborns and soon took up the protective older brother role, learning how to take care of them from watching how his Antipodean Opaleye dragon helped the youngest hatchlings learn to play in the lake water.
Their family had grown and although there were difficult days and long nights of interrupted sleep Charlie and Ashlynn were delighted with how their lives had changed so beautifully, often reflecting on how far they had come since that very first day they had met when Ashlynn had landed on Charlie's chest at the bottom of the main staircase at Hogwarts so many years before.
…
"Ashash, worcan crying." Teddy toddled into the kitchen where she was preparing dinner for her, Teddy and Charlie who should be home from work soon, they had Teddy living with them during the weekdays now to ensure he didn't feel left out with the new babies around while Harry and Ginny continued to take him at weekends and Andromeda got the chance to play her role as the doting grandmother.
"Thank you Teddy sweetheart, I'll be right there." She quickly cast a stasis charm on the meal and followed the little boy into the connected lounge.
"Worcan no cry now. Ashash here now" Teddy patiently told the screaming baby before going back to playing with his toy dragons on the floor nearby.
Ashlynn's heart broke every time little Teddy was the perfect older brother for her biological children. She loved Teddy like a son and was so glad to have him as part of her family but she couldn't help but ache for her beloved lost best friend. Tonks was the one who should be delighting in these little every day moments and she missed her brightly coloured best friend every day, despite the years that passed.
It was easier to take though with a heart, home and life so filled with love. Her family was growing and having Charlie to fall apart with when it all became too much allowed her to carry on. She heard Charlie come in through the front door and soon felt his arms wrap around her and the fussing baby in her arms as he planted a soft kiss on her tear stained cheek.
"It will never be easy" Ashlynn whispered to her husband as she soothed one of her infant twins in her rocking arms, and her mind filled with memories of her best friend and joyful images of her life with Charlie Weasley "but it's easier to fall apart when I'm falling apart with you."
The end (for now).
