Andy and Sharon were able to rush the sale on the house and were moving things in a month later with the help of the Major Crimes division on their day off. Emily, Ricky, and Nicole also came to help pack and move their parents things putting Sharon and Andy in charge of only labeling the boxes.
Once everything was at the new house they unloaded it.
"That's all of my Dodgers Memorabilia." Andy directed Sanchez. "It goes in the one of the guests rooms. It doesn't matter which one."
"Yes, sir." Sanchez took off with an arm load of boxes.
"This is ballerina stuff." And handed Buzz the next box. "Which ever guest room my Dodgers things aren't in."
"Yes, Lieutenant."
"Those go in the master bedroom." Andy directed Wes. "Sharon and Nicole are in there to unpack them."
Wes carried the boxes into the house. He was almost in the bedroom when he tripped over a box Buzz had set down in the hallway. The boxes went tumbling to the floor. The seal broke on one of the boxes sending the contents all over the floor.
"Are you okay?" Sharon came rushing from the bedroom.
"Yes." Wes picked himself up off the floor. "I hope nothing broke."
"It's just things." Sharon smiled crouching down to help him pick the things up.
"Why do you have this?" He held a picture of the baby she'd given up for adoption.
Sharon remembered when Gavin had given her the picture.
He and the adoptive parents had wanted her to have a picture of her and the baby. They convinced the doctor to let Sharon do a few minutes of skin to skin, but Sharon was so exhausted after the C section that she didn't even wake up when the nurse slipped the baby into her gown on her chest. Gavin had told her she'd instinctively placed her hands on the baby and fell back to sleep. Her face was against his head in the picture.
"Is this Ricky?" Nicole asked.
"No." Sharon and Wes answered at the same time.
"How do you know that?" Sharon stood narrowing her eyes and crossing her arms.
"Because it's me." He stood as well matching her pose. "Why do you have my baby picture?"
"That's impossible." Sharon whispered shaking her head.
"No, it's not." Wes pulled out his wallet. He pulled a folded picture matching the one Nicole held in her hands. "It's the only picture I have of my birth mother. Why in the hell would you have it?"
"You're adopted?" Sharon felt the room spinning. Nicole grabbed her arm to steady her.
"Go get my dad." Nicole told a confused Buzz as he stood watching nervously. "Sharon, maybe you should sit down."
"She should explain why she has this picture." Wes told Nicole then turned his attention back to Sharon. "Why do you have that?"
"What's going on in here?" Andy asked seeing the tension in the hallway.
"Wes . . . " Sharon handed him the picture of her baby. Her hands shook. Tears filled her eyes. "It's Wes."
"What?" Andy asked confused. He took the picture from her and took her shaking hand. He looked at the picture and then at the one Wes held. "That's impossible."
"Would someone tell me what is going on here?" Wes asked putting the picture back into his wallet. The Major Crimes team had gather along with Sharon's children.
"This is the baby Mom gave up for adoption." Emily spoke up. Wes' eyes went to hers then back to Sharon in disbelief.
"Mom had another kid?" Ricky asked shocked. "No one told me that."
"It wasn't something we talked about." Emily shrugged. "The only reason I know is because I found it looking for a pair of shoes in Mom's closet when I was graduating from college. I asked her about it and she told me."
"Wait does Dad know about this?" Ricky asked.
"No," Sharon shook her head. "You're father wasn't in the picture."
"So who was?" Ricky an accusing face. Sharon and Andy looked at each other then back at Ricky. "Ahhggh Andy!!"
"Wait a minute." Nicole shook her head as if to clear her thoughts. She still held on the Sharon's arm. "You two were . . . Involved that many years ago?"
"It's a long story." Andy answered.
"I need some air." Wes stepped over the mess. Everyone was quick to move out of his way.
"Let's get this cleaned up and call it a day." Andy suggested leading Sharon into the kitchen.
"I'll clean this up." Nicole put the picture back in the box it had fallen out of. "How about we all go out for pizza so they can talk. We'll bring them some back.
"You okay?" Andy asked sitting her down on a bar stool at the island.
"Yeah." She nodded. Her hands hadn't stopped shaking. "I'm just overwhelmed. Wes Nolan is the baby I gave up."
"Seems so." Andy smiled cupping her face. "I love you."
"I love you too." Sharon looked at him confused by his confession of love. Then it dawned on her. "Andy we don't know if he's yours."
"He is." Andy nodded looking out the window seeing Wes pacing on the port he "I can tell."
"I want to talk to him." Sharon followed his gaze. "Alone and explain why I did what I did."
"Okay." Andy nodded.
Sharon stood. Her legs a little shaky, but she took a deep breath and squared her shoulders.
"I'm okay." Sharon put her hand in Andy's arm when he gave her a concerned look.
Sharon walked out onto the back porch. Wes stopped pacing.
"Can we talk?" He asked just as Sharon was about to.
"Yes." Sharon smiled motioning to the patio furniture she'd brought from the condo. "Let's sit."
"Okay." Wes nodded. He set across the small table form her. His hands in his lap.
"Where to start?" Sharon sighed nervously.
"The beginning." Wes suggested.
"As you know, Jack disappeared when Emily and Ricky were very little." Sharon started her story. "I decide to go to a bar. I ended up getting drunk and hooking up with a stranger there. Same thing to the second night different guy."
"Sharon got her groove back." Wes wiggled his brows.
"So to speak." Sharon smiled. "Then I started an affair with Andy. I found I was pregnant. I found out the two men from the bar were both married and in law enforcement."
"So no matter what my parents are both cops?" Wes smiled like the news made him proud. "Do I know the two men?"
"Yes." Sharon hesitated on telling him, but she decided he needed to know. "Chief of Police William Pope, Deputy Chief Fritz Howard, and of course there is Andy."
"Oh my god." Wes looked like he was going to fall out of his chair in surprise. "Pope!?! Chief Howard I can see the chemistry there, but Pope?"
"Don't judge." She frowned. "I was having a mental break."
"Okay, okay." Wes held his hands up in surrendering. "Continue no judgment."
"I was barely surviving with the children I already had. There was no way I could provide for another one. At the time Andy was drinking. Will and Fritz both were married. I decided you needed to go to a family that could give you everything."
"You never considered abortion?" Wes asked.
"No, I knew you had to be born." Sharon reached over covering his hands on the table with one of hers. "I just knew I couldn't keep you. I had my friend Gavin Baker find the perfect couple to give you the best start in life."
"Thank you." Wes turned his hand over and squeezed hers.
"I kept my pregnancy a secret. I wasn't showing. By the time I was I went into preterm labor." Sharon's from out the fight with Andy. Wes didn't need to know everything. "After I gave birth to you. Gavin and your adoptive parents snuck you into my room and took this picture for me to have."
"Sounds like them." He smiled. "They told me from the day I was born that you were the angel that gave me to them. They'd tell me stories of how you were superhero and were saving the world from the bad guys."
"Gavin kept in touch with them." Sharon laughed. "He must have told them I was a police officer."
"Yes," Wes nodded. "I learned you were when I got older."
"So what now?" Sharon asked.
"I'd like to know who my father is." Wes said the words Sharon had been dreading.
"Okay." Sharon nodded. "I'll get on that first thing Monday morning, but if it turns out it's not Andy, he's going to be crushed."
"How long has he known about me?"
"Provenza was the one who called the ambulance for me when I went into labor." Sharon answered. "He told him in hopes of it being his wake up call. Andy went to rehab the day after I came home form the hospital. We ended things when he came to see me before he left."
"I want you to know something." Wes squeezed her hand again. "I was never treated badly by my parents. I never needed for anything and raised to work for what I wanted. I always felt wanted."
"Thank you." Sharon smiled as tears formed in her eyes. "I'm so happy to hear that."
They stood at the same time and enveloped each other in a hug.
They walked into the kitchen with their arms still around each other.
After getting Andy and Sharon settled into their new house, the DNA was sent out.
Weeks passed. Life moves one. Then it came in.
Sharon picked up the file from her desk. Her hands shook as she carried it out to the team, because her very private matter now included them.
"Are we ready for the moment of truth?" Sharon asked making the room silent.
"Is that what I think it is?" Andy asked reaching for it, but Sharon snatched it back.
"Yes." She held it against her chest with her arms crossed. "It's up to you Wes."
"Open it." Wes came to her side. "I want to know if I attended my parents wedding."
"Let Tao read it." Andy suggested seeing Sharon's hands shaking. Tao went to her.
"Okay." Sharon handed the file to him and took both Wes and Andy's hands into each of hers.
"When it comes to Detective Wesley Nolan," Tao said sounding like Maury. "Lieutenant Andrew Flynn . . . You are . . . The father."
The room cheered as Andy, Sharon, and Wes enveloped each other in a hug.
