Chapter Twenty-eight: Welcome to Naru's Dark side
Naru Pov
"Yes, I will Naru. I will marry you again." Mai bends on her knees and cups my cheek looking at me with loving eyes while she cries. My nervousness is being replaced with pure joy, that I thought my heart will run away from my chest as I stare at her just soaking her in and her words.
I will never forget this day, I know I was harsh on her, I do have a partial fault, but she needs to know that just because I begin one way she never listens to the whole sentence. I'm not good at expressing myself when I feel gratitude. I loved her gift, I was about to compliment her when she ran away. She didn't have to make me anything, but her gift touched my heart.
"Naru? What's wrong?" Mai looks concerned since I wasn't answering her.
"Nothing, I was just progressing your answer, what did you say?" I asked her, wanting to hear her answer once again to make sure I'm not dreaming this. She smiles softly at me as she leans down and kisses my lips gently.
"Let's get married again Naru. I accept without doubting it," she assures me causing me to lean forward and kiss her lips multiple times causing her to giggle while I wrap my arms around her waist and hoist her next to me and give her a tight hug.
"So are you happy with my response?" she asks me while holding me tight.
"What gave it away? I'm embarrassed as it is," I teased as we sway back and forth a bit.
"Well, I don't know what gave it away, it's strange to see you this happy and you embarrassed? Never." she teased back with a fake gasp causing me to chuckle while we separated to look at each other.
"So when do we get married?" she asked me.
"Today if you wish." I honestly told her. She nods at me but then looks up at the dark sky as the rain pours over us.
"I would marry you right now Naru in a heartbeat, you know I would, but it's sad today and it's raining and thundering. I want it on a happy sunny day. We can have the animals as our witness." she told me.
"Oh yes, our old friendly neighbors," I joked causing her to laugh and nods in agreement.
I stood up and bend down to grab Mai from her armpits and lift her in my arms feeling her legs wrap around my waist. She places her hands on my shoulders as I turned to look at her.
"You know," she lays her head on my shoulder as I began to walk towards our home.
"Hmm?"
"You forgot to mention something," she said.
"What is that?" I questioned as I went carefully going up the stairs, so I won't slip. I felt Mai kiss my shoulder causing me to shudder in delight.
"You forgot to mention that we are best friends, I think the best relationship is when a husband and wife are best friends, don't you think?"
"Friends with benefit?" I teased. She shrugs my shoulder as I opened the door and we stepped in and closed with my feet.
"Hey," she pouts causing me to chuckle.
"I was only teasing, and yes I believe so as well. You're my best friend and I never change my thought ever since I told you back in the cave all those years ago. I wouldn't change you, maybe with.."
"Hey," Mai complains as I made it to the second floor and gently place her on her feet. She shivers rubbing her arms looking at me. I grab ahold of her dress and removed it away from her, now bare in front of me she covers her breasts with her arm looking away with a red face. I look away to give her respect and went around her.
"Maybe with Lin, he's the second person I can tolerate as in friendship wise Mai," I assured her. She couldn't help but smile while I grab the white towel that the man gave her and turn to place the towel over her head. She slouches down a bit while I began to dry her.
"Good, or not I would get very jealous and had to fight to the death with Lin for you." she jokes with a burst of laughter as I lowered the towel to drape it around her small shoulders to rub her arms.
"Hmm, Lin would have strong competition," I said.
"Lin better have game!" She plays along with a giggle at my statement while I went to get her clothes, after coming back with fresh dry clothes I took notice she wraps her towel around her small frame and held my blue towel.
"Bend down," she orders me. So I did and she places my towel over my head and began to dry it, rubbing it gently, then she lowers the towel down and wraps it around my shoulders, and lowers her hand to unbutton my pants.
"Don't want you to get sick," she said as she pushed my pants down and helps me get them off, now naked. Then she stood up and grab the towel to dry me. I watched her tenderly ash she dries my skin down to my fingertips., then wraps my towel around my waist and tucks it.
"There, all dry," she said, I bend down and gave a small kiss on top of her head and handed her her dry clothes.
"Thanks," I nodded and turned around to grab my clothes when Mai takes my arm making me stop in my tracks to make me look at her.
"Yes?"
"Soon Naru, let's get married," she said looking at me with pleading eyes.
"When we come back Mai,"
"Really?" she asks with hope in her tone. I nodded at her as I took a hold of her hand and kiss her palm.
"Yes, I'm looking forward to it Mai, look forward to it when we return, remember that Mai," I said to her. She nods wrapping her arms around my waist and presses her cheek against my chest and I held her, placing my chin on top of her head and closed my eyes.
"I have this terrible feeling Naru, so let's survive Naru so we can get married."
Mai Pov
I stand in the middle of the forest not sure why? Yet, I'm all by myself with no souls or a fire surrounding me.
Something in me started to stir.
"Hello?" I called out as I began to walk forward as I rub my arms feeling unease about this.
Is this a dream?
About a few minutes later I spot our home (The Treehouse) in front of me, the sky felt dark and heavy as the wind made the branches of the tree move in an eerie sense of a spooky movie or something like that.
A settle movement is heard behind me causing my heart to jump in fright and terror crept up my heart. I turned around and my eyes narrow to see Isac in his wolf form standing in front of me with a sneer on his lips, baring his fangs at me.
"Isac!" I gasped out while he just watches me.
"I know that we aren't on a good foot, but please let me and my husband help you. It's our job, we can finally end this feud that is been happening for six years now." I begged him.
Isac let out a deep dark menacing chuckle.
"You and your soulmate want to help me?" He asks after he stops cackling and looks deadly at me.
"Yes," I told him. Isac arched his thick brow and bob his head down.
"I'll give you two a chance then," he said to me.
"Great, let me know how." I pleaded with him feeling scared by this, that was too easy. Something glint in his red eyes as he whips his dark tail to the right and another dark fur wolf appears next to him. The new wolf opens his eyes to stare at me with his blue eyes.
Blue eyes? Why does he look familiar?
"Another wolf?" I asked him. Isac nods his big head and I knew this is bad as this eerie feeling grew in me.
I shouldn't have asked him.
Isac bares a deep smirk while stretching his hind legs.
"Yes, another wolf since I have become bored and Alack taunts aren't doing anything. I want to play, it's called, how can the human escape her fate? Interested?" he mocked.
"My Fate?"
"Yes, your fate.." he nods his head. Then the wolf next to him starts to howl in pain as he raised his head. In shock, I watch his body transform into a man. His fur disappearing, as well as his wolf-like stage. I cover my mouth, to see a very naked Naru in front of me. Yet his eyes didn't seem so him it looks blank, with no life.
Naru? What did Isac do to him?
"Naru? What did you do with him?" I shout in anger as I fist my hand feeling my heart racing with pure worry.
"Well, this will be fun to watch, lets see if you can outrun him. Get her!" Isac growls out in amusement as he orders Naru.
My eyes widen when Naru sprinted towards me. I had no idea what do to as I stare in fright, not believing this.
"No!" I spat out, not wanting to believe this.
"RUN MAI!" Naru screamed.
That snaps me out of my spell and without a second time to waste I turned and began to run fast as I could heading for our stream.
Running, all I did, as Naru chased me down, like a predator while I became his prey.
Turning my heels I made a right turn without thinking which was the wrong choice. In doing so, I stop in my tracks to find myself in a dead-end, just a plain wall in front of me.
I punch the wall while cursing it for being there. Breathing hard, I turned around to find Naru standing in front of me this time fully clothed in dark clothes. A heavy set of black pants, and an old fashion shirt that ax man will wear back in the day.
He's breathing hard, his bangs covering his eyes and a devilish smirk passes his lips, which I find that alluring and terrifying at the same time.
His blank blue eyes remained looking at me while my heart hammered so hard I thought my rib will break at any moment. I'm not sure if it's fear itself or something else.
"Why is it that my little red is alone?" he questions as he slowly began to walk towards me as I walk back just a bit, but yet his voice alone made me shiver in delight.
What's wrong with me? I need to find a way out for both of us.
"Red? What do you mean? Naru, please remember I'm Mai your wife." I pleaded with him as his lifeless eyes seem to give a glint of something which I couldn't name.
"Mines," He growls out taking another step forward closer to me as I became paralyzed in fear and worry by this. This isn't someone I don't know, someone that can scare me like that, this is my Naru.
"Yes Naru, I'm yours, do you remember me? You just told me to run and called me by my name, so that means you remember, somewhere in there remember me." I begged him once again.
Why does Isac has Naru like this? Or does this has to do with the island?
Naru ignores me as he took another step now causing me to be trapped by the wall behind me and him as he eyes me up and down as though he sizing me up or something.
"This has to be a nightmare or Naru is being possessed," I murmured under my breath, looking around to find a way out.
Then, before I could even blink, Naru places his hand on the wall pinning me against him, his eyes turning darker. I lift my hand and cup his warm cheek.
"Naru please wake up, it's me Mai, your clumsy assistance that belongs to you. You're my boss that belongs to me." I try to trigger his memory. Naru tilts his head as toothily smirked at me.
"Welcome to my dark side my little red," he said and before he could do something I move forward and press my lips giving a kiss on his cheek causing his eyes to narrow.
"So please come back to me, I know you won't harm me and you're strong, stronger than anyone I ever met and you won't do anything to me because I trust you," I told him honestly as I look at him with soft eyes, praying that this will work and my fear went away.
He closed his eyes and surprises me when he bends on his knees in front of me causing me to look down at him a bit surprised.
"Naru?" I question him as he wraps his arms around my waist and presses his cheek against my belly causing me to gasp, but then I wrap my arms around him.
Did he remember me?
"Please," Naru begs me with a nervous tone.
"Please what? My love, what happened?" I asked him confused by this sudden change.
He glances up, noticing that the darkness in his eyes went away and has life once again causing my heart to come back to me with relief.
Oh thank God, he's back.
Naru rose my shirt and press his soft warm lips on my stomach and kiss it a few times causing me to shiver in delight.
"Naru?"Then he stands up, placing his cheek flatly on mine.
"Mai, thank you now it's time to wake up." before I could question him or understand my surroundings began to disappear and I felt heavy drop rains on my skin. Naru shook his head as I look up to see instead of water see its blood.
"Bl… Blood, Ne…Naru it's raining blood." I stutter out as Naru looks at me and his eyes narrow.
"Stupid wolf!" he barks out, but then cups my cheeks and began to check on me.
"Did I hurt you?" he asks worried as I place my hand over his and rubbed it gently to ease his heart.
"No, you didn't Naru so be at ease my love, but do you remember?" I asked him. He shook his head.
"Somewhat remember but I couldn't control myself," he explains to me.
"Oh no, it's fine Naru, we'll get to the bottom of this, is this a nightmare? A dream, or a vision?" I question feeling frustrated by this.
"Did you had your fun? Come out and face me like a man." Naru shouts as he turns around to defend me. I peaked around Naru, after placing my hand on his arm and in the shadows I see Isac coming out watching his wolf shoulders move in movement with his front legs as he sneers at us.
Isac just laughed at us.
"Oh, come on, don't be a party pooper, it was thrilling. Too bad you didn't shred her since she won. I will be a good dog and I will give you a reward." he shrugs, laying down on the ground just like a dog.
So he wasn't lying? Was this all a test?
"Why are you willing to help us. After all, you place our heads in the wanted list.." I sneered. Naru took a step forward.
"I want out, Alack has been screwing with me long enough. I sent Ayame to you and I will give you some time to get the information... Alack isn't what he seems." Isac mentions to us.
Okay, that's new.
"Then what about you? What guarantee us you're telling us the truth?" Naru asks him.
"You don't. I'm just simple. I want my love back, I made a promise to her. I did something I shouldn't have. Yet, that brother of mine betrayed me and I will get my revenge. Here's a tip, don't go through the mirror. Not everything is what it seems. This island, as you may know, is darker than you think. I will show you a memory of mine... Just please..." Isac stopped talking while thunder consumes my dream. I jump a little, tighten my hold on Naru.
"What?" Naru pushed his look seems as though it can kill. If it did, Isac would have been dead twice by now.
I gasped to see the souls surround us in a circle, but this time no fire. They just stood there looking at us with sadness in their expression.
"Set us free. We do need her soul, but after six I learned something.." Isac seems more at ease.
"What do those numbers mean? Why are you so sudden changing teams?" I question him.
"Wouldn't you like to know? Eh? And I'm on no one's team. I'm on my own."he confirms, turning his gaze towards his back.
"Alack is more what he seems, I dare to say more powerful. Don't trust me you have every right. I am just warning you.." he turns his head back at us. I gasp in fear as I let go of Naru due to the powerful grip on my chest and being slam against the wall causing me to grunt in pain.
Naru immediately turns towards my aid, but as though someone pushed him, he falls flatly on the ground.
"Naru!" I shout in terror to see him like that.
Then I felt a hand wrap around my throat causing my eyes to widen in pure fear.
"Leave her alone!" I heard Naru shout trying to escape the grasp of souls that I could see holding him down.
I wrap my hands around the invisible hand around my throat.
"I need you to find something for me. Right now, you're heading North." Isac stands and began to walk towards Naru, then as soon he reached him, he places his tail on the edge of Naru's neck.
"No! Don't touch him, please!" I begged tears running my cheeks. Naru growls at him as Isac gave him an amused look.
"You aren't as strong as I believe. Retreat me Alack's body, you have a week; If not.."he presses pressure on Naru's neck. Naru grunts in pain not able to do anything.
"No, please! Leave him alone!" I begged feeling myself losing my mind at the fact that he's hurting Naru. The hand around my neck tightness starting to lose oxygen. I gasped out as I try my hardest to get rid of the hand around my throat.
"Your woman will die; I'll make sure it will be in your hands.." he turns his head towards me when I gasp out, feeling a hand on my stomach.
"Na… Naru!" I extend my hand to try to somehow reach him, but in pure horror as a rod of lightning came straight at me shocking my body causing me to convulse at the impact.
"MAI!" is the last thing I heard from Naru as everything went darkness took over me.
Naru Pov
My body heaved tremendously feeling a weight over my body. All I can feel is Mai trashing next to me in a panic. I snapped my eyes open, to see the sun rays hurting my eyes. I rubbed it and turn to face Mai.
"NARU!" Mai screams from the top of her lungs as her body jolts up as though she was shocked, remembering in our share dream she was shocked by lightning.
"Mai!" wrap my arms around her to catch her before she falls back in her bed. She goes limp and I move my hand to pat her warm stained cheeks.
"Mai, wake up Mai!" I pleaded with her, but no response. I frowned not liking this at all as worry grip on my soul.
I almost killed her because of that bastard and she got hurt by that lighting. I felt guilt and anger at the same time as I place my wife down and press my index and middle finger against her neck to check for her pulse and breathed out in relief when I found it a bit rapidly pulsing. I sigh in relief as I leaned down pressing my forehead against her shoulder and held her hand.
"You'll be the death of me Mai. Thank God, for my wife is still alive." I sigh feeling sweat roll down my face. I rapidly let go of her as I went to wipe her body.
After a few hours, she slept and her pulse returned to normal which was a relief to me, so I carefully watch her and got her comfortable as much as possible.
While I sat next to her reading a book to find anything new that can help us, I felt Mai moving causing me to look at her. She has her eyes open looking at me with a solid soft of love and relief which made my heart skip a beat.
She looks so tired, but so adorable at the same time. I felt my cheeks turning warm as I enjoy this feeling she's giving me instead of dread.
"Did I ever told you that you look handsome when you are reading?" Mai spoke first as I lowered my book and couldn't help but smirk at her words.
"Well, at least I know I can attract my wife." I wiggled my eyebrow. She gave me a soft giggle and she nods.
"Always," She stated while she stretched her hand for me to take. I slip my hand on hers and she sits up with my help. Then she stares at me then searches my body for any injuries.
"Naru… Are you okay? They had you pinned down, Isac controlled you. I…" she began to cry hard as I wrap my arms around her and rubbed her small back.
"I'm okay Mai, I assure you." Mai lifts herself and kisses my cheek then rubs her cheek against mine closing her eyes.
"I thought I was going to lose you." I wrap my arms around her as guilt plagues me.
I almost killed her, if it wasn't for her kiss, I would have. I don't want to harm her, I can't lose her, she is everything to me, she's the love of my life and I can't lose her, I can't go through that again.
Mai relaxes after a few minutes, feeling her enjoying the small gesture as I felt her rub my back.
"You will never kill me, I trust you.." She murmurs wiping her eyes.
It's like she could read my thoughts. Guilt and disgusted with myself feels my heart.
I can't kill her or touch her, I rather die first than do anything to harm her, even if that means we will never make love. I don't care, I just want her happy and alive next to me.
"So it did work, but he manipulates it a bit, do you think he knows about it?" Mai asks as she moves back to look at me.
"Not exactly, but at least it worked," I said as she takes my hand and began to rub it against her cheek. I smiled at her just simply enjoying her.
We were practicing dream-sharing it's a little trick I picked up years ago, even when I saw Gene death with my own eyes, I swore to never use it after that, but...
I need to protect Mai from her dreams since Gene isn't there to do it.
I simply told her to clear her mind and I will just push myself in until she lets me in; It's a long progress, but as time goes the more you do it, the easier it is.
"A little too well, why does Isac want Alack's body?" she asks while she gives me a soft kiss on my hand and stood up to head towards our bag to get our things; I shrug at her as I stood up and we went downstairs and she follows me.
"He could have a use for his body Mai, for what? I don't know." I told her honestly. While we reach outside, the sky is blue once again, no more storms or thunder from two nights ago. Sadly we couldn't get the test down since she got a cold after I propose to her.
"Hmm, I wonder what Alack did to Isac, siblings shouldn't hate each other, I mean they don't have to get along with everything, but hate is not part of that relationship," Mai admits as we reach downstairs and walked up to the logs.
She stops, when a sneeze escapes her, I turned to look at her to only catch her rubbing her nose making a pig snort noise. I gave her a disgusted look.
"Well, that was so ladylike," I said sarcastically while sitting down on the log near the fire that I made last night, watching it flame weakly as she came back to me and opens the bag.
"I'm still recovering from the cold. Thanks to you and I did warn you, but it's worth it. For now, you won't be having your wife being all formal like for a while." she spat while sitting next to me.
"How delightful" I replied dryly then I smirk, looking at the ground.
It was worth, even kissing her like that.
Mai shrugs my shoulders causing me to look back at her.
"You are a pervert," she blushes, but another sneeze escapes her. I rolled my eyes, taking an apple out of the bag, and took a bite as I look at a distance while I chew.
"Bless you, and how am I pervert?" I asked between my chewing.
I didn't do anything wrong, she blushes hard and looks down.
"You know what you did.." she wraps her hand around her neck, watching her from the corner of my eye she shivered as my chest feels warm and tight at the memories of her body against mine in the most intimate way we ever been. I just lost every sense I had in me.
At least I know, she wants it as much as I do, but do I have the courage after what I almost did to her? Oh man, that's going to plague me.
"At least your cold didn't last long." I change the subject.
"But it ruined my birthday two days ago and our test and tomorrow we have to go."
"How come you didn't get sick? You were the one-half naked." She accuses me while I just shrugged at her.
"Better immune system."
"Better immune system my behind Naru. That's not fair," she pouts crossing her arms. I chuckled while I handed her an apple after taking another one from the bag.
"An apple a day keeps the doctor away," I told her. She looks at the apple on my hand while I wiggle it, she takes it.
"What doctor? You mean an apple a day keeps pests away in this island if you throw it hard enough. Jeez Naru, thanks for your support." She retaliates as she takes a bite out of the apple and chews it a bit mean-spirited causing me to chuckle at her reaction.
"Throw it hard enough, it might help," I replied causing her to puff out her cheeks and turns around to face away from me.
"Jerk," she spat out, but I did hear her giggle.
I turned facing my back and press it against hers, causing her to straighten up and leans against me. I rose my leg on top of the log and I took another bite.
Hey, at least I took care of you, doesn't that count?
Remembering that I kept watching after her day and night and keeping sure that she's rest as much as possible. At least her cold, wasn't that bad, which is a great relief to me.
"Why were you a wolf? What happened?" She breaks the silence.
I graze my tongue across my lips licking off the juices of the apple.
"When I entered your dream, instead of appearing next to you, I was snatched away then the next thing I knew I was running after you. I couldn't stop." I explained... Mai press pressure against my back leaning her head back.
"You were a wolf, then turned into yourself. Then afterward, you ran after me, but you warned me to run. I don't know what stopped you, but you kiss my belly." she blushes, rubbing her stomach. I felt my cheeks warm up, remembering my reaction after she kissed me.
I touched my cheek, blushing softly as my heartbeat hard.
I don't know why I did that either.
"Right now I don't remember all the details, but I do remember when Isac appeared from the shadows and you getting electrocuted," I concluded as I felt Mai shake in fear.
"That was scary, but I only was worried about you, I didn't remember much, all I wanted is to get to you," she admits as I move my free hand and manage to find her fingers and held them.
"You are my brave girl, you know that?" I leaned my head against her as I stare at the blue sky. She smiles closing her eyes, rubbing the back of her head against mine.
"And you're my loving brave husband." I felt my heart swell with pride at her words, which meant so much to me. If even though I can't make everyone happy, if it's only her, then I'm happy and content.
Taking another bite of the apple with a smile on my lips, I heard Mai sneeze again.
"Bless you," I said. I heard her snort again causing me to roll my eyes as I chew on my apple.
"Thanks, darn thing... He threatened to kill me, I mean is nothing new, but why in the world does he want our help? Oh.."
She moves to cause me to almost fall back, but Mai acts rapidly and catches me and wraps her arms around m, and places her cheek against my back.
"Mai?" My voice turned serious, as the sudden weird feeling appears in my heart.
"Are you sure you're not hurt?" she asks me. I nodded at Mai.
"Fine as a fiddle," I somewhat lied, I have to admit, I feel sore.
"Sure you do." she didn't believe me, but moves, and I began to feel her rub my back causing me to straighten up, feeling relief in my muscles.
"Isac isn't finished with us if anything.." she said. I lower my head, feeling Mai rub my back gently.
"I know," I didn't want her to finish since I know what she meant.
"You will run, no matter what. I have this very bad feeling."
"I feel it too." She admits... I lowered my leg and turns towards her.
"You'll be brave for me, and no matter what promise me you will keep running, forget about me at that moment," I told her in a very serious voice.
"Okay, but I will save you though." She adds. I felt annoyed by this response and shook my head.
"Mai you have to save yourself, not me. I have to protect you, not the other way around." Mai shook her head and looks at me with seriousness.
"Naru, I know you're my guardian, but I will protect you, no arguing with me, you get that? So please understand you're my world and I can't have anything happening to you, plus you have two parents waiting for you and good friends as well. So I'm not only thinking of myself but others. Alright?" she said to me. I sigh slouching my shoulders in defeat.
"Yes Mom," I rolled my eyes, causing her to slap my leg softly.
"Such a big baby you are." she giggles as I look at her, then out of nowhere I stretched my arms and began to tickle her sides causing her to burst out laughing.
"I'm anything but a baby," I spat causing her to laugh so hard that she snorts causing me to chuckle.
"S...stop it Naru," she begs between breath as I continue and felt content finally hearing her laugh.
"Mai," I said seriously as she calms down and looks at me.
"Hmm?" I bend down and kiss her lips gently causing her to give me a goofy look as I told her.
"When you smile and laugh, it makes me the happiest man alive, so never stop smiling for me."
...
...
"So My little Red?" Mai asks me as we get dressed, I adjust my pants and turned to look at her, and my eyes narrow to see her wear a red dress with her hair tied up. My eyes roam her body and my whole being became hot, as somehow it made her look twice attractive as the dress clenched into her body showing her curves, and her words didn't help. My face turns red as I look away.
What the hell? Did I call her that?
"Little Red?" I questioned.
"Right, you don't remember, do you?" she said with a mischievous look as she came up to me and grabs my black shirt from my hands, and rolls it.
"Lower yourself," she orders me. I did as she asks and she places my shirt over my head and pushed it down.
"I don't, what did I say?" I help her put on the rest of my shirt.
"My Little red, to be honest, I found that sexy," she admits. I arched a brow to look at her a bit disbelieving. She blushes hard and turned around to not look at me.
"Sexy? Mai I was going to rip you apart." I admit.
"You remember that much huh?"
"Well yeah, that was the point wasn't it?"
"I guess so, don't get me wrong Naru, I knew the situation, but you sounded sexy and look handsome. I know this is wrong, but I knew you would not harm me because you never laid a finger on me," she assures me. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Your fantasies are weird and not healthy, you should be aware I was being controlled, I could have harmed you," I warned her.
"Is not fantasies, I…" she shut her mouth as I rubbed her head.
"Don't get distracted Mai, but I will remember it," I told her. She turns to look at me.
"Huh?"
"For role-play Mai, for role-play," I smirked with a wink as I fixed my shirt, watching Mai's face turn into a tomato, covering her face with her hands.
"Naru, that's too forward," she said shaking her shoulders as she squealed. I rolled my eyes as I nudge her shoulder with mine.
"Seriously, your mind is in the gutter, nothing sexual Mai, just when we get bored to spice up our boredom." I rolled my eyes as she lowers her hands and arched a brow at me.
"I wasn't thinking of anything perverted, I was thinking of something else, but okay, then I'll be your little red and you'll be my big bad woodsman, not the wolf, we already have that and not in a good way," she said. I nodded her.
"We are weird aren't we?" Mai added laughing hard as I shrugged at her.
"Well, we are a married couple living in the middle of nowhere, surviving in a cursed island and we are virgins, what else do we have?" I honestly told her. She smiles at me.
"Imagination, and again Naru, I'm sorry," her eyes drop as I shook my head looking at her.
"For what?" I arched a brow confused by the sudden mood change.
"For making you wait for so long," she said to me. I shrugged at her, as I wrap my arm around her shoulder and gave her a soft hug.
"It's hard I admit, but you're right, for now, we can't have children it is too dangerous if you get pregnant, if you get attack or something happens you can have a miscarriage, God forbid, and I'm sure you won't be handling it well and we have no doctors." Mai looks at me and blushes hard.
"Not only me, you too, but I also want to have your children, something from you and I know I will love him or her. I'm sorry." she lowers her head. I tighten my grip on her.
"We're getting older Mai, and to be honest, I can wait and I want to give everything to you without protection or anything because I don't see the necessity of it nor am I sleeping with anyone else that is not you. I'm your husband and if we have a child then let it be it, but I worry about you, if we ever go back, it can affect your studies and.." but Mai shook her head.
"I'm a grown adult and we can work around it, many people do is not easy of course, but not impossible. I want children Naru, you know how much I want them after begin an orphan, I know the value of a family. I think the same as you, I want to give you everything without fear, and as you said, I shouldn't fear anything because I'm only sleeping with you and no one else. So I don't have to worry about anything, plus I think making love is a big step and a changing experience, it's different from what you see on television and what you read it's so different in real life. So thank you for respecting me and not pushing me. That I will always value and take in my heart, plus we don't owe the world an explanation if we have made love or not, it's our business, not theirs, as I said before, we take our time." she tells me. I smiled at her as I leaned down and kiss the side of her head.

"Sorry Mai, but I can't take any chances," I murmured under my breath as I tucked the knife behind the hems of my pants and covered it with my shirt after I took it out from the bag.
"Naru?" I heard my name, I turned to see Mai sitting on the red quilt near the shore. I walked up to her and sat down.
"Hmm?" Mai ended up sneezing once again causing me to look at her. I placed my hand on her forehead making her blush hard.
"No fever," I admit feeling relief. She smiles at me showing me her teeth.
"Of course not, I have the greatest doctor in the world." she extends her arms and hugged me tightly.
"Good, you acknowledge that," I said with pride causing her to roll her eyes, but jumps up to kiss my cheek. I blushed looking away feeling content.
"Naru,"
"Hmm?"
"I was thinking, do you think your parents will accept us? I mean me being your legal wife?" she asks me a bit nervously.
"Well they can't do anything since we are bound until death so they can't ever separate us, and I won't let it, I'm a grown adult in his mid-twenties, so it's not like they can do anything and I'm sure they will love you. They aren't stingy as I have to marry someone rich by their choice. They are lenient." I assured her.
"I met your father, so maybe, one thing knowing, but accepting is a different thing."
"I'm sure they will love you, especially whoever married me could keep up with my attitude, you know I'm not easy to handle."
"Oh, I know, I know every inch of you and your attitude." she sweetly wiggles her nose causing me to smile at her.
"Same here," I respond as I leaned down to kiss her forehead, she smiles as I kiss her, as I move back, a cold chill runs down my spine while my eyes narrow.
Something is wrong.
Mai Pov
Naru slowly moves away from me after he kisses my forehead, which had my heart pounding like crazy, but as I look up at him he looks frozen as though something was wrong and his eyes narrow.
"Ne, Naru?" I question, but before he could reply a cold chill ran down my spine and a small growl is heard behind us. We slowly turn to our right to see two black eyes staring at us.
"Isac!" I gasp out as Naru bolts up, taking my arm and place me behind him.
"Where?" he asks since he couldn't see him. I pointed in front of us after I went around Naru.
The wolf growls at Naru, showing off his fangs, then he turns his eyes at me at the sudden piercing eyes.
"Red... How convenient... Wonder if the big bad wolf would eat you this time around."
Isac's voice echoed down my ears. My heart stops, as he turns his sight at Naru.
What does he mean by that? We aren't dreaming.
"Ne... Naru, he's staring at you.." I tighten my grip on his arm. I felt myself shake, as Naru took a step forward feeling his Pk radiate through him.
"No. Please don't use it." I begged him, but Naru ignores me.
"Oh, well... How about we do this.." Isac said and before I could muster a word, Isac ran fast towards us, that I had no time to react.
I watch in horror as Isac goes right through Naru and lands on his paws turning around. Naru gasp out in pain, he kneels on his knees.
"Naru!" I screamed in concern.
"What the hell did you did to my husband?" I was now mad at Isac turning my gaze towards Isac.
"Test is all you need to know, if you don't die today and don't bring me what I want, then next time it will be even worse, let's just say I gave him the taste of what a true animal instinct feels like when he wants his mate and can't control himself. If you want to stop him either or has to die and he can't do it himself since it won't work. Now, little red riding hood. You have a big bad wolf after you welcome to Naru's dark side, let see how strong is the love of each other."
He bluntly tells me as my eyes widen.
"Oh no, didn't we just went through this in the dream world?" I question him as Isac shrugs his big shoulders.
"I like to keep you two in your toes, and see the real deal."
I turned towards Naru, he grasps his chest and the burning sensation hit my chest. Feeling our burn mark activate at the same time.
"Ahh.." I moaned in pain.
Naru huffs as his blue eyes turn bleak cold and no pupil at all. He covers his eyes as he bites his lower lip so hard that I see blood coming out.
"Naru!" I touch his shoulder, but he shrugs me off.
"Run!" Naru growls a little causing my heart to drop.
"No... What did he do to you?" I asked being stubborn, I can't leave him. Naru lowers his hand, and stares at me, with a hateful expression, but he shrugged it off.
"Run Mai... Or not... I will kill you." he seems to be struggling against his own will huffing hard.
Did Isac possess him, just like in my dream?
I immediately put two and two together.
"You can fight this.." I begged, feeling tears now running down my cheeks. He growls, standing up straightly hunching down just like an animal.
I move back, as he turns towards the water.
"You better run, I won't warn you again.." he lowered his head, as my eyes widen... I can't believe this.
"Damn that ghost." I cuss, turning around, and began to run towards the forest, picking up my dress so I can run easier. My heart hammering hard against my chest.
Naru told me once, that ghosts can't track you if I don't show fear or radiate, but Naru isn't' a ghost. What did he say about possession?
I gasped heavily, as I heard footsteps behind me.
"My little Red, why are you running away from me?" His voice is deep like a hunter as I turned my head, to see him running very fast behind me.
"You can fight this," I argue, turning towards my right speeding myself. Thank God, that I have managed to become fit, Naru's constant training has helped.
"I can't... Just keep running, until it's over." He yells.
Ducking under a tree branch, heaving hard. I didn't watch my step and tumble over a rock, causing me to fall sideways to roll down a small cliff scraping my elbow.
"Aish.." I groaned. I heard a growl above me. I glance up to see Naru staring down at me with a hungry expression that shook my core.
"My Little Red got hurt? Then I'll come and help," he growls, noticing that he grabs his arm. Digging his nails inside of his skin.
"You can fight it! I know you're a man, but you can do it Naru you can control it."
"I can't I am still me, but this urge seems to control me. All I want is you," he tells me.
I wipe my face looking around now feeling very frustrated that I ended up bouncing.
"I can try to do the nine cuts," I suggested.
"Just run!" He demands, now running down the small hill. I turned my body and struggled to get up, but manage and began to run once again.
Turning towards my left, I hid behind a large tree, covering my mouth as I heard Naru stop in the middle.
"I know your hiding behind a tree Mai just come out; I promise to make it painless," he suggested. I began to cry, but not for me, but Naru because he's being manipulated.
I need to save him, he's in pain, but how?
Turning around my heart jump in fear as Naru stood right next to me, with a wicked smirk.
"This is fun, now I will show you what a real wolf would you do," he growls, moving his head and places it on the side of my neck, and rub his nose against me as though he's caressing me. I shivered in delight, feeling his breath tickle me.
"W…What?"
"Simply eat you up.." his voice is seductive and deep. He presses his lips against my skin and began to nip and kiss me as I half rolled my eyes and I bit my lower lip to stop myself from moaning in pleasure as my blood boiled at this erotic simple gesture.
Eat me? That sound... Good a little too good.
Breathing hard, closing my eyes since it was so hard to part from him, but I place my hands on his shoulders and pushed him off, he stumbles back with a smirk as I turned and began to run away again.
How did he know where I was hiding? And…
I press my hand on my chest, feeling my heart race, but not from the running.
Why did I find that alluring and sexy, oh geez Naru is right I'm mentally weird?
Shaking my head, I kept on running as Naru chased me.
Then I stopped in the middle of the forest, looking around to see if I can find a way out.
What to do, Naru never told me about being controlled.
Then I felt an arm snake around my neck, pinning me against a strong back as he takes a grab of my bottom of my dress and pulls it up slightly catching my breath. Naru leans into my ear and whispers.
"Now my little Red, don't run, it's not fun anymore, I want you," he mumbles under my ear seductively. I turn around while smirks at me devilish I felt tears running down my cheeks, as he pins me against him.
"You caught me." He nods, heaving hard. I took a breath, looking straight at his eyes. Naru just simply smirks at me, tighten his grip on me.
"It... it's hard... to... control... myself... The... urge... is too powerful, this... beast inside... wants you... My... Dark... Side!"
"Then have me, while you don't hurt Naru, then I give myself to you." I told him since I can't stand him being in so much pain.
Naru lowers himself down and surprises me when he captures my lips against his and began to kiss me with a deep fire of passion making me weak in my knees once again and I kissed him with the same passion which drove me crazy making me forget what just happen. Again he just drove me crazy at his deep kiss, feeling his tongue graze my lower lip.
I couldn't even fight him at this point when I felt his hand come to mines and rose it up and I felt something in my palm.
Letting go painfully not wanting to, I opened my eyes to look at him, my heart drops to my stomach as I see a tear roll down from his right eye, down to his cheek.
"N… Naru? My love, what's wrong?" I said a bit breathless as he rose my hand and I look down to see a knife in my hand.
"Wait, what? No, Naru.."
"I can't hold it back Mai, I want to make love to you then kill you so I rather die than forcing you to do anything and take your life. While I still have control, I don't want anyone else but you, and I'm so glad that I became your husband," he said honestly.
"N...No...No, Naru, I won't kill you, there should be another way, it's fine, we can make love, I don't mind while you're okay Naru. Please." I was now crying, but he ignores me as he rose my hand.
"You deserve better Mai, than just me taking it like that." I see his eyes turning back to that bleakness that I hate, I rather see his cold eyes.
"Remember this, Mai, you are my world." and before I could react or think. Naru uses my hand and moves it and plunges the knife in his stomach and his eyes widen in pain, but went back to normal, feeling a sticky feel drip down the knife drip to my hand and a strange white thing leaves his body.
My world stop, as he gasps in pain.
What just happen? N...Naru?
"Naru?" I asked as a fresh tear rolled my eye, not believing this. He smirks at me, cupping my cheek.
"Don't blame yourself, I rather die, than having to rape and kill you. You have… No idea how...much I… treasure you." He simply says as he closes his eyes and drops to his knees.
"No... No.." I panic shaking violently.
"Naru! No. No. Oh, God.." I felt tears running down my cheeks as everything around me seems to stop competently while I drop to my knees grabbing Naru my his shoulders and making him lean on my shoulder.
"N...Naru, please tell me this is… A joke. A horrible joke. Please, my love, don't do this to me, please wake up. I know you wouldn't harm me. I know you too well and I'm not mad at you, so please wake up, please… I love you so much and I don't want to lose you, so wake up okay?" I pat his pale cheek then kiss his paling lips, but he doesn't respond. I sat and took my husband in my arms and held him tightly as I look down at the knife and reality began to settle.
"Wake me up, please, wake me up, this is a nightmare a horrid nightmare, so please Naru wake me up, my love." I chanted, but nothing, I didn't wake up in my bed with Naru next to me to console me. No, this was reality, I just killed...
"I killed Naru." as though this was a very bad ending to a movie.
All I could do is cry and hold him tightly in my embrace and screamed in pure agony.
"Don't... NO... NARU! DON'T LEAVE ME, I'M SORRY. I'M SO SORRY, PLEASE DON'T DIE."
So this is what Isac meant since he couldn't kill himself, I had to do it to stop him or not even if we did make love, he would have to kill me afterward, so to protect me from himself, he rather choose death first than harm me any shape of form. This was the moment I realized how much Naru loves me and how much my love for him grew to the point of no return this horrid proved that we can never harm each other because we love each other to much to much to the brick of no return.
