Ch 29 Day 16: Hero of Charity
Ritsuka glares at the Mages in front of him, Bram Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri and Lorelei. A Magus that Ritsuka dislikes and vice versa. -ZZZ- So I heard from Goldolf and the three observers that you've taken up teaching the Wizards here, Lord Fujimaru. -ZZZ- Bram smiles at the master. -ZZZ-Tell me, was this a wise decision on your end? -ZZZ-
"Well the situation was made for me by the Wizards and Servants here," Ritsuka informs the magenta-haired Magus. "I would've done the same thing given the chance too, Lord Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri." He smiles coldly to the Lord of the Spiritual Evocation Department.
Lorelei and Karna watched the two but heads at each other, their relationship is clearly seen strained. -ZZZ- As much I love to see you two's relationship blossom, Bram is right. -ZZZ- the Queen of the Clocktower looks at the master. -ZZZ- You're on the brink of almost revealing Magecraft to the Wizarding World. The valuable information you're teaching may cause some misfire between us the Association and that world's community. Even if some know of Mages. -ZZZ- She said to him,
Ritsuka understands what these two are saying, however he stood firm in front of the Clocktower's well-known Mages. "I understand your concern Lady Barthomeloi, but I am fully prepared for whatever outcome will fall on this if my part if this part fails." He stares dead-on at the two.
The two Mages were worried about Ritsuka's plan, but they can't do anything about it. -ZZZ- Tread carefully Lord Fujimaru, if the Association was there with you then we must take action on the path you've chosen. -ZZZ- Bram warns Ritsuka if he ever thinks he's free to do as he wishes.
Karna was about to speak out his mind, wanting to defend his master when he prevented him to do so. "I understand, Bram but do remember that both the Association and the UN gave us permission to act independently in the interest of Humanity," Ritsuka smirks seeing Bram's frustrated face.
-ZZZ- Bram, that's enough. -ZZZ- Lorelei warns the Lord of the Spiritual Evocation Department. She turns to Ritsuka, -ZZZ- Now, Lord Fujimaru as much Bram's statement is uncalled for, he does have a point. Even if you have special clearance from us and the UN, you're standing on a thin line by telling the Wizard you're a Magus. -ZZZ- She glares at the young Lord in front of her.
Ritsuka sighs, knowing that this was on record. "Of course, Lorelei I know what the repercussions set by the Association for me to be independent leading Chaldea." He crosses his arms. "However, dire situation calls for desperate measures as they say." He smirks.
The Vice director of the Clocktower sighs, knowing that Ritsuka knows loopholes. -ZZZ- Very well Lord Fujimaru, I wish you luck in completing this mission. Till next time. -ZZZ- she said, signing off the transmission.
Ritsuka looks at Bram, glaring at him. "I take it I'll meet you in the next meeting Bram?" He asked the Magus before him.
Bram scoffs at Ritsuka's question. -ZZZ- Of course, after all, your Servants are familiars. As the Lord of the Spiritual Evocation Department, you are the talk of the century in my Department. -ZZZ- he smirks.
Ritsuka chuckles, already knowing his popularity in the Spiritual Evocation Department from Goldolf and Lucius. "Yeah, yeah, I know about that Bram." He waved his hand at the young Lord.
-ZZZ- Well then, I'll see you later Lord Fujimaru. -ZZZ- Bram smirks before his transmission leaving Ritsuka alone in his office with his Servant.
Karna looks at his master, concern for him. "Master, are you alright? I know how difficult dealing with the Lords of the Association can be." The son of the Sun God asked the Magus.
Ritsuka stretches in his chair before looking at the Demi-God. "I'm fine Karna, I've gotten used to Bram's and the other Lord's distaste in me." he shrugs his shoulders.
"True, however, there are some who are skeptical of your motives," Karna explains, observing past encounters with the Mages.
"Yeah, I figure as much-" A knock from his office door interrupts his sentence. Ritsuka looks at the door, wondering who it might be. "Come in,'
The door opens to Arjuna and Prince of Lanling. "Master, there are a few Professors who wants a word with you." The Archer informed his master,
"Oh? Who is it?" Ritsuka asked, turning his chair to face the two.
"Lady McGonagall and Lord Binns master." Prince of Lanling informed his master of the people here to see him.
Ritsuka understands why they're here, "Alright, let them in Saber, Archer." He asked his Servants.
They nodded, standing on the side of the door letting the Professors inside the office. Ritsuka looked at McGonagall and Binns, their eyes filled with awe at how his office looks. "My, oh my, this place is all clean and orderly." McGonagall gasps, her own office isn't anything like Ritsuka's.
Binns looks around the office of the Lore Professor, he saw the shelf behind the Magus. Many of the books he has in there are Mythology, Muggle History, and a few about Folklore. "So this is the Lore Professor's office? Tacky, very tacky." The Ghost scoff, disliking how white the room is unlike their regular one.
"Spirit, I appreciate it that you won't criticize our master's taste so rudely." Prince of Lanling eyed the Ghost Professor, "Believe it or not, we have experience in slaying many Spirit and Ghost-type enemies." He grips his sword, glaring at the Professor.
Binns could tell this Servant is serious from the piercing glare from under his mask. "Professor Binns, please refrain from talking like that," McGonagall advises the Ghost before he did something he regrets.
"A-Alright, Professor McGonagall." Binns apologies to the Transfiguration still feeling the gaze from the Servants.
McGonagall looks at Ritsuka, watching the two. She inclines her head to the Magus, "I apologize on the behalf of Cuthbert, he can't comprehend that you were able to convince the Headmaster to approve of this class."
"Yes, I find it utterly ridiculous that the students are interested in your dimension history than our own," Binns stated his problems with this class. "Please tell us, is the information within your textbooks is hard facts."
Ritsuka raises his eyebrow at the strange question this Ghost asked. "Oh? Do tell me what you think of my curriculum, Professor Binns? In what way you believe this isn't hard facts?" he asked the Ghost back.
Binns huffed, ready to say what's in his mind. "I read these 'Gods' and 'Heroes' from the Muggle world is outlandish. I did notice that you added some questionable topics such as assassins." He looks at Ritsuka with a questionable expression. "Why would you put something so vulgar that the students will try something like these Muggles-"
"Professor Binns, you have been teaching the same lecture repeatedly that the students are bored out of their minds." Ritsuka stood up from his chair. "I'm simply expanding their curiosity about the outside world."
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that Professor 'Fujimaru' but this book is filled with nothing but fairytales," Binns commented at how ridiculous these topics are. "I have taught history, and whatever the Muggles were doing is nothing more than attention-seeking lunatics who wants to be-"
The Servants within the room were about to defend their honor as Heroes when McGonagall slams her foot on the ground. "Professor McGonagall, what are you-"
"Professor Binns, as the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts I implore to cease your ridicule of a fellow instructor's curriculum." The old witch defended her co-worker. She turns to Ritsuka, inclining her head. "Professor Fujimaru, I do apologize for Professor Binns's rudeness towards you and your class."
Ritsuka looks over to the Ghost, than at McGonagall. "In truth Professor Fujimaru, we were curious about what you've been teaching your students. In turn, we became curious as well." McGonagall stated their reason for being here. "I have heard much gossip about your subject and decided to take a look for ourselves."
"Yes, we want to see what information you're going to feed the students that got them all riled up." Binns glares at the Magus, he stops when he saw the icy stare from the Prince beside him. "(Ahem) if you don't mind." He coughs,
McGonagall rolled her eyes at the Professor's poor ability to ask him discreetly. She shook it off and went to look at the Magus. "I'm quite curious as well, Professor Fujimaru. What culture you have planned for us today?"
Ritsuka crosses his arms, smirking at the two. "The Mahabharata, an epic story well known in the country India."
Ron walks beside Jane, ignoring his suggestion. "Jane, Come on. Think about it having him around our gathering will make it ten times better." The red-haired boy tries to reason with her. "I mean really, from what your brother and his friend saw what Saber did; Ritsuka can command his servants to do that stuff." He steps in front of her, halting their progression to the Lore class.
Jane rolled her eyes, already went over this conversation with him. "Look Ron we cannot let Ritsuka join our gathering, or any adult in that matter." She explains to her fellow classmate.
"And why not? If we have him join our group, then he'll teach us some of his wicked moves." Ron reasons with her once more. "We will be more prepared if we learned what he learned from his world." He smiles at the red-haired girl.
Jane shook her head, seeing that Ron can't see the problem with Ritsuka joining them. "Ron, Ritsuka is still a Professor. He still reports to Dumbledore about everything which he's force to report to Umbridge." She explains to her friend.
Ron scratches the back of his head, seeing she's not changing her mind. But she does have a point there. "Fine, I see your point, Jane. But it would hurt to ask him, right?" He smirks at her.
The redhaired sighs, "Fine, we can ask Ritsuka after class." Jane continues her way down the hall to the classroom.
"Yes!" Ron cheered, running up to his friend.
The two arrived at the door to the class where Hermione was waiting for them. "Sorry we're late Mione," Ron walks up to her.
Hermione looks at her two friends, tapping her finger on her arm. "'You two should seriously get a pocket watch. We're at least ten minutes late, Ritsuka already started and there are observers inside!" she hissed at them.
"Observers? Who's observing Ritsuka?" Jane asked, entering the room to see for herself who these observers are.
"Wait, Jane! It's-"
Jane froze midway in the room, seeing McGonagall and Binns standing where Umbridge and Fudge were before. "Professor Binns, and Professor McGonagall." Hermione lower her hand when everyone was looking at them.
"Glad you thee could join us." Ritsuka sat on his desk with both Hinako and Mashu by his side.
Ron and Hermione enter the class, avoiding the stares of their fellow students. "(Here we go again, my brother and his friends are always late.)" Ginny smirks at their way, her followers giggling with her.
The trio walks up to the class, Ritsuka stood before them looking at each one. "So, any explanation why you're all late for class?" he asked them, giving them a chance to explain themselves.
"Um-"
"Professor, we were discussing about the next paper for our other class," Ron said, technically it's not a lie per say. "We were too involved with our talk that we'd didn't realize what time it was, hahaha." He laughs nervously, hoping that would work.
Ritsuka wasn't convinced, he looks at Hermione having a feeling that Jane will say the same thing as Ron. "Hermione, you were the earliest student to arrive outside the classroom, yet you stood outside for a good while." He looks at her with a cold glare, causing shivers down their spine for anyone to look at him. "Care to explain?"
"(Ooh, so attractive,)" Ginny place her hand on her cheek, seeing the cold glare of her lover.
Hermione gulp, "I-I was waiting for Jane and Ron to arrive, I felt kinda bad for entering the room without them." She admits, she knows that she cannot lie to a Professor no matter who they are.
"(Hermione! No!)" Jane hissed, feeling bad for her. She knew her oath to never lie to a professor and that made her guilty.
"I see," Ritsuka nodded, understanding the trio. "As much I appreciate your loyalty to your friends Hermione. You must think for yourself time to time." He explains to the Gryffindor's bookworm.
Hermione nodded, understanding what Ritsuka means. "I understand Professor." She responded.
The Magus looks at the other two, still retaining his cold stare. "And for you two, I notice being late is a habit for your other class, this is the first for mine." He stated.
"Yes, Professor. We won't do it again-"
"Unfortunately, I can't let it slide since Umbridge's Decrees said that no students shall be late for a minute." Ritsuka sighs, hating to do this to him. "So as your Professor, I have no choice to give each of you detention tonight."
"WHAT!?
Ritsuka closes his eyes, "Yes, you'll be serving detention with me tonight for your lateness." He turns around, walking back to his desk. "Anyways, find your seats class will begin."
Ron sighs, scratching his head at the situation they were in. "I can't believe this, he just given us detention." He commented, walking to where they usually sat with Neville.
Jane shrugs, already knowing this would happen. "Well you did want to speak with him, Ron." She added, "Anything better is to talk to a professor than getting detention with him."
"I got detention again," Hermione said, can't process what just occurred (Even she has been in them many times before). "This won't look good on my record." She said to herself.
McGonagall looks at the Golden trio then at Ritsuka, typing something on a strange device. She sighs mentally, wasn't expecting the day that Harry would give detention to his friends. (Even if he is someone else.)
"Anyways, today we're going to go over India's Age of Gods." Padma and Parvati looks at each other after hearing that today's class is about their heritage.
Parvati raises her hand, trying to gain Ritsuka's attention. "Professor, what deity are we going over?" She asked, knowing a lot of her country's mythology.
"Is it, The Destroyer Shiva?" Padma asked, interested in her heritage's lore.
"Or the Goddess of Fertility and Love?" Parvati asked. "The one named after me, Parvati?"
"What is she going on about?" Binns asked, noting getting why they're so excited about this ludicrous subject. "What does Ms. Patil's given name has to do with this subject?" He looks at the Magus, showing his simple-mindedness when it comes to history.
"Professor Binns!" McGonagall hissed at the Ghost for making such a rude comment.
"What? I was simply asking a ques-"
"Lady Patil was named after the Goddess of Fertility and Love, Parvati." Karna walks down the stairs with Arjuna, and Parvati. "A name fit for a young lady such herself." His comment made the young Witch blushed, especially with his tone chest in the open.
'Are they servants of Ritsuka?' McGonagall asked herself, seeing a lot of strangely dressed people, saying they serve him. 'Why am I asking this question when I already know that.' She sighs.
Padma leans in to her sister, sharing the same red coloration on her face as she. "(Merlin, look at them, they're so attractive.)" she whispers to her.
Her sister nodded, can't help but look at Arjuna's cool expression. "(I know, I kind've like the one next to him. The one in white.)" they giggle, about whispering of their interest.
Hinako coughs, looking at Karna. "Thank you, Lancer for that intel on Ms. Patil's name."
Karna merely bows, respecting the Assassin. "Anytime, Lady Akuta." He replied cold yet gracefully.
Arjuna mentally rolled his eyes, still retaining his quiet expression. "Thank you, Lancer," Ritsuka commented with a smile. "In any case, this topic will be about to epic heroes of India from the Mahabharata."
The students looks at each other, think it's a strange name. "Professor, what's the story about?" Hermione asked.
Padma raised her hands, knowing the story. "Professor, I know what the story is." She announced causing everyone to look at her.
"Did you read it from the textbook or something?" Daphne smirks, nudging Draco who remained silent.
Padma and Parvati look at the Slytherin female, "Our family has been telling us tales of our homeland when we're growing up in our household." Parvati explains how they know the tale. She looks at Ritsuka, continuing where her sister left off. "The Mahabharata is about two epic heroes named Karna son of the Sun God Surya, and Arjuna son of the Rain God Indra." She smiles.
Parvati nudges both Demi-Gods at the mention of their fathers. "(See, there's at least a few students here who know of you two.)" The Goddess of Fertility smiles at the two, "(Aren't you two happy?)"
Arjuna sighs, feeling a bit proud for the two. "Yes, Lady Lancer. I am happy about this." He admits to the Wife of Shiva. Karna nodded, leaning on the railing of the stairs.
"Wait a moment," Hermione raise her hands at Ritsuka, about to regale the tale between the two epic heroes. "Professor are you saying that Karna and Arjuna were real, even if they're epic heroes?" she asked.
Hinako nodded, forgetting to mention an important part in their history. "Yes, in our world every epic hero were real, relics were found in every country of these heroes from their legends." The Dead Apostle answered the bookworm's question.
Each student converse with each other, shock that even epic heroes were real. "Preposterous, they're only stories. Fantasies created by Muggles to make something of themselves for attention." Binns floats over, seeing the ludicrousness of their claims. "Are there even proof that these heroes ever existed, Professor?" he raise his eyebrows at the Magus.
Karna, Parvati, and Arjuna looks at their master, retaining his smirk. "Of course. Mashu." Ritsuka looks at his wife.
"Hai." Mashu turns around, taking a small box. She lifts the lid revealing a tiny piece of golden earring that Karna wore. "Here is a relic found from our excavation team from India. This was in a dig site for uncovering holy relic." The former Demi-Servant explains to the class.
Binns was flabbergasted, he looks at the Indian deities, smirking at him. "If anyone is asking, that is the authentic armor piece of Karna." The Lancer of Red commented. "I should know, I was the one who excavated, and carbon-dated from the Age of Gods." He lied, in truth he already know that was his.
"If you want more proof, you can scan that piece for magic," Arjuna suggested, helping his master to prove his point. "Professor McGonagall, you know a spell that can detect lingering magic from relic, do you not?" the Archer asked the old instructor.
Every student looks at McGonagall, already did the task. "Indeed, and I can say that there's some ancient magic in that piece of armor." She looks at Ritsuka, believing his claims from the start.
"B-But how can that be?" Binns was flabbergasted, he looks around the room seeing the students contempt with their confirmation. The Ghost looks at Ritsuka, retaining his smirk at him. "P-Proper H-History should be on facts, not myths or legends…" he commented.
"Mmmm, it seems you have a lot to learn Professor Binns," Ritsuka commented, he turns around to his laptop. He opens a mural of a bearded man with a lance, a bow, a quiver, riding on a chariot. "The man here on the tapestry is Karna, the son of the Sun God." He looks at his students.
Ritsuka picks up his book in his hand, already opened to the lesson. "Turn to chapter four in your books so we can begin." He watched everyone turn to the chapter with an image of two men charging at each other.
"Interesting art," Hermione commented, excited to absorb new information from this lesson.
"This will be entertaining, Lancer." Arjuna watches their master retell their story to the younger generations of humans. "Don't you agree?" he asked his Half-brother.
"Yes, it will Archer." Karna agreed with his half-brother.
Parvati nudge both indicating for them to be silent.
Ritsuka cleared his throat and began the lecture. "Dating back centuries before the birth of Christ, a young Yadava princess by the name Kunti was blessed by a sacred mantra that allows any Hindu Gods to father her child." An image of an ancient depiction of a woman praying in a room appeared on the screen.
"So any Gods that this woman ask of this mantra will get her pregnant?" Ron asked, trying to understand the lesson.
"In short, yes. A mantra is a statement or prayer that the person repeats while meditating." Ritsuka explains to his student. "Kunti actively prays to the Hindu God of the Sun, Surya who in turn fathers their son; Karna." An image of the same bearded man appeared on the screen.
Image of a golden battered armor appeared next to the image of Karna. "These are armor pieces gifted by Surya along with his strength." Ritsuka continued.
"The boy was born with divine accessories crafted to his skin, golden armor name the Kavacha and earrings called Kundala," Ritsuka explains the accessories of the Lancer.
"Merlin, talk about riches. That man is a walking gold mine." Crabbe snickers, causing some to giggle when thinking of the fame Karna made from wearing the armor.
Goyle nodded, "I'm sure he was famous, walking around with that armor. Getting the women, and attention." He continues, not noticing the shaking head of the Hero.
"Only if they knew." Karna sighs can't help but smirk; waiting for what's to come.
"Patients, Lancer. It will come." Parvati comment, patting his shoulders.
McGonagall coughs, "Can we continue this interesting lesson, Professor?" she asked the Magus.
Ritsuka nodded, "With these accessories, it grants the child protection. Upon blessed with the child, Kunti was lost in her life; unable how to proceed. She concluded that she was unable to raise the child, and unable to explain the birth to her husband."
"What did Kunti do, Professor?" Luna asked, the tale was intriguing her among the others.
Ritsuka looks at Hinako, ready to continue. "Giving up her responsibilities to Karna, she decided to lay him in a basket by a river causing the basket to drift away." The Dead Apostle continues, images of a woman watching a basket floats down the river appeared on screen. "Kunti hoped that someone else would care for her son, raising them as their own."
"That's horrible, how could a parent have done that to their child?" Lavender gasps, feeling awful for Karna.
"Yeah, that's just plain evil!" Cho added, standing on her seat.
Parvati looks at her fellow student, knowing the answer. "It's that common back then to do that to a child, unlike today. I understand Kunti's position she was in and done the same thing." Some of the open-minded students agreed with her while the others are skeptical.
"So, what happens next?" Daphne asked, trying to hide her interest in this story.
Hinako turns around, taking her book. "A passing charioteer named Adhiratha and his wife Radha and adopting him as their foster son." An image of two people taking Karna from his basket in the river is on screen. "The two parents decided to name him, Vasusena. The two did their best in raising Karna, despite their placement as the lowest caste placement."
"So Karna was raised by peasants?" A Hufflepuff asked the assistant.
"Basically yes, you cannot rise up in India's caste system and the belief is once you are in a certain caste you can't go up," Hinako added, seeing the displease expression on the Slytherin's faces.
"So he was raised by Muggles even though he's a prince?" A Slytherin asked, sneering at the thought of being raised by Muggles.
"(Talk about bad luck, I would die if I was ever be raised by Muggles.)" Daphne nudges Draco who seems at a lost.
Draco looks at his fiancé and nods. "Mmm? Oh yeah, same here Daphne." He smiles before turning his head back to the board.
"As Karna grew with his foster home, Karna found himself wanting to be a skilled and honorable warrior however the caste his parents were in prevented that dream to come true." Hinako continues,
"What did Karna do to achieve his dream?" Jane asked. "If you asked me, he would search for a new dream since his position prevented him to do so." She commented, seeing no way around it.
Ritsuka smirks. "Ah and that's where your wrong, Jane."
"Huh?" Everyone questioned, seeing there's no way around the predicament Karna was in.
An image of a man sitting under a tree appeared on the screen. "Karna seeks out the guidance of a famed warrior, Dronacharya however he was rejected due to his caste, however, this does not stop Karna."
"How so?" Binns asked, observing his lesson.
A statue of a man, pointing at the sky appeared. "Karna still determined to be a warrior went for a man higher than Dronacharya. His guru, Parashurama however he too won't teach anyone under him in the caste system."
"So it's a failed attempt too, right?" Neville asked seeing his task hopeless.
"Not entirely, knowing this Karna disguised himself and was able to convince Parashurama to teach him archery, rivaling the guru himself." Ritsuka continued,
"How could anyone gain a man of higher standing rival someone?" A Slytherin asked, not believing that anyone bellow the higher-ups to be better.
Karna steps in, can't help but speak out. "It's not what class your in that counts, its what skills you possess that matters in life. No matter how high you are in life, there are people bellow you with skills they're born with and perfected." He looks at the classroom of developing minds. "Everyone has their weakness, even you Purebloods. A life lesson you should keep in mind."
Arjuna agrees, knowing what his half-brother means. "Do keep this in your mind, children. It's worthwhile." McGonagall blinks, hearing what these two said to the students. She apricated those words, words that help her students grow.
"In any case, through this recognition, Parashurama gave Karna both his personal bow and the celestial bow gifted by the Gods, the Bhargavastra." An image of a bow appeared on the screen. The students looked in awe of the weapon of the Gods. "This all will change when Parashurama discovered Karna's disguise causing him to be in a rage."
"Yeesh, talk about cover blown." A Hufflepuff commented, already knowing this would happen.
"Yep, no secret will remain hidden." The Indian twins commented, knowing what's next to come.
Ritsuka nodded, "Yes, in his rage Parashurama curse Karna for forgetting his lessons as punishment. Karna begs for forgiveness; this lessens his punishment by forgetting his lessons when he needs it the most when faces an equal in battle." He looks at Karna, making a face once he heard that,
"Well, that's just mean. I mean he needs it whenever in battle." Hermione commented on the punishment Karna was given.
"His luck hasn't ended there, for one instance while practicing his skills. Karna accidentally kills a cow a sacred animal in Indian culture," An image of the bovine appeared on screen, made from gold indicating their worship. "The owner cursed Karna that his chariot will get stuck in the mud. This doesn't change Karna's conviction as a warrior, continuing his journey in life.
"Indian culture sounds interesting," Cho commented, wanting to learn more.
Ritsuka chuckles, "Indeed, Ms. Chang. Karna upon hearing a competition hosted by Dronacharya, the own who rejected Karna among his friends. From there he learned that a talented archer and a royal Pandava Prince, Arjuna is expected to claim victory in the competition." An image of a bearded man holding a bow appeared.
Arjuna smiles a little, feeling a nudge from Parvati on his side. "So what did Karna do to get the invitation? I mean from what you were saying he wanted to compete." A Ravenclaw asked the Professor.
"I was getting to that," Ritsuka said, putting up a depiction of the competition on the screen. "Despite not having an invitation, Karna enters the competition and skillfully defeated all the other competitors even Arjuna." He continued.
"The other nobles were angry that a low birthed man was able to defeat all of the high-ranking warriors." An image of Arjuna and Karna their opponents appeared on screen in battle. "This sparks a rivalry between two skilled warriors, a battle that shook the earth." Ritsuka eyes the two Heroes, blushing at their story.
"Wait, so Arjuna is a Demi-God too?" A Gryffindor asked the Professor.
"Yes, I believe Padama or Parvati mentions him before. The son of the Rain God Indra." Ritsuka informed the student. "Anyways, Karna challenge Arjuna to a duel and once again denied it due to his place in life."
Ron scoffs, seeing how ridiculous this was. "I can't believe this, seriously why do that to him? Karna sounds cool in my books." Karna smiles hearing someone new admires him.
"I understand your pain, but this is India's culture, and we must respect that," Hinako commented before letting Ritsuka continues.
"Thank you, Arjuna and the Pandava brothers were disgusted by Karna's request and excuse themselves from him," Ritsuka instructs. "However a nobleman name Duryodhana gain intel that Arjuna and his brothers are plotting to overthrow his Kaurava leader. Knowing his faction is outmatched, he recruited Karna giving him nobility, land, among other things."
"What's the condition?" Draco asked. "I know very well there's a condition with this deal."
"Ah the condition for this offer is for both he and Karna to be friends," Ritsuka informed the group, receiving a confused look from them. "Now a nobleman, both Karna, and his lord have defeated and conquered many kingdoms. Karna was generous with sparing the lives of his enemies if they swore loyalty to the lord."
"Eventually this leads a full-on war between both factions, Indra wanting to protect his son stole Karna's armor stripping his protection." Ritsuka continues.
"W-Wha-BUT THAT'S CHEATING!" Jane exclaims at the dirty tricked by the God.
"YEAH!" the other students agreed. Both Heroes chuckle at their master's student's outrage, seeing them support the Lancer.
Ritsuka nodded, "Yes, but understand this is a father wanting to protect. Karna understands the God's action and continues his way to the battle knowing it means death." An image of Arjuna and Karna with their respected weapons appeared on screen, riding their chariots.
"Karna declares that true defeat is to bring shame upon his father, causing Indra to feel guilty of his action," Ritsuka added. "With his words, Indra bestowed Karna his spear the Vasavi Shakti."
"Talk about recompense." A Hufflepuff scoffs, seeing the value of the Noble Phantasm.
"I know. Isn't this exciting?" A Slytherin added in front of him.
Ritsuka coughs, gaining their attention. "With the war continuing for sixteen days, Karna sets his eyes on Arjuna. The Pandava brothers intercept Karna, however, each one was defeated and spared individually by Karna leaving Arjuna in his way."
"Ooh, this is going to be interesting." Hermione giggled, liking how the epic is going.
"Karna and Arjuna's battle shook the earth, a battle that lasted a whole day," Ritsuka explains. "But when Karna had the advantage, an ally of Arjuna intervenes causing the duel to be halted.
The students groans at how their duel was interrupted. "I know but both Heroes declare at sunrise, settling their score. Recalling his curse, he reaches out to his mentor to remove his curse but was denied."
"That sucks." Jane places her hand on her head.
"Despite this, Karna continues his way to the battle using his weapons bestowed upon him." Ritsuka continues. "Eventually he reaches Arjuna once more and uses their chariots again to face off. Karna uses each of his celestial weapons, wearing his rival down finding an opening."
"However his curses took place, from that moment he forgets his training, and his chariot got stuck in the mud," Ritsuka told his students. "Arjuna took the advantage that was granted to him and shot an arrow at him causing his death. Despite the victory, Arjuna regrets having killed his rival in a variable state and erect a shrine in his honor." He closes the book as the lesson finished.
"And that my students were the epic tale of Karna," Ritsuka concluded seeing his students pack their things. "For you assignment, I want you to read the story of Arjuna-" A loud explosion caused the whole room shake, students going under their tables for cover.
Ritsuka looks at McGonagall and Binns, expressing a sense of shock and fear on their face. "Professor McGonagall, what's going on?"
"We do not know," McGonagall looks at the Magus. "This never happened bef-"
The doors burst open to Bedivere and Merlin, "Master, there a fire in the dungeons."
Binns's eyes widen at the shocking news the Servants gave. "That's where the Potion Labs are, it contains highly explosive ingredients!" He panics causing the students to go into panic mode.
"We're all going to die!" Daphne whines among the others.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Hinako shouts, stopping the panic. She marches through the students, looking at them in their eyes. "Everyone, panicking doesn't help in this situation. Professor McGonagall is there a fire escape nearby to get out of the school?" The Dead Apostle asked the Witch.
"Y-Yes, this way everyone." McGonagall took the lead in leading the students out of the room.
"Lancer, Lancer, Archer stay with the students." Ritsuka orders Parvati, Karna, and Arjuna. "Ensure their safety."
They all agreed, inclining their head to their master. "Yes, master." They responded as they followed the group.
Ritsuka looks at Mashu worried for their son. "Don't worry, I'll head to the Storm Board with Romani Ritsuka." His assistant kissed him on the cheeks before going to their room.
"Be careful-"
"Ritsuka!" The Magus looks at Jane, worry was plastered on her face. "It's Jamie, he has Potions this time."
Ritsuka's eyes widen, rushing out to the dungeons. "Master!" Bedivere cried out, following him to where the danger is.
