3 years later

"Nigel, did you manage to get everything we need?" Andy asked as she poked her head around the door of his office.

"Well, hello to you too my dear, Six," Nigel smirked at her. "And yes, of course, I did." He said, still smirking.

Andy rolled her eyes playfully at him. "Good. I want everything to be perfect." She told him.

"It will be more than perfect. I promise." Nigel reassured. "Now go." He waved his hands at her. "Serena and Emily are waiting to doll you up and get you into your dress while I make sure Miranda is ready." He said with a wink.

"Phew, okay then." Nigel came over and hugged her. "I'm nervous," Andy admitted.

"Everything will be perfect," Nigel advised her once again. Now shoo." He gestured with his hands to usher her towards the beauty department.

"Okay, okay, I'm going." Andy laughed.

He watched Andy move down the hall before making his way towards Miranda's office. When he arrived, Nigel knocked lightly on the doorframe and the editor looked up at him. "Hey there." He greeted warmly. "I've prepared everything you need for the gala, your dress and all accessories are in your private bathroom. I will pick you up in around 45 minutes."

"About the dress, Nigel, are you sure the Crème white is suitable?" Miranda asked as she looked at him over her glasses.

"It's next season's trend colour and we need to have the Queen of Fashion wearing it first," Nigel stated, removing his glasses and cleaning them nervously. "So yes, it is imperative that you wear it." He said and turned to leave. "I'll see you in a short while, Miranda." He offered with an airy wave.

Miranda smirked and shrugged. In all honesty, she trusted Nigel with her wardrobe choices unconditionally, and she also knew she would only be staying at the gala for the usual 15 minutes like she always did. Checking her watch, she decided to touch up her make up and get dressed.

Nigel changed into a tuxedo and made himself look presentable. He rehearsed his speech internally and decided to check in on Andy. "So, are you almost done?" He asked. Andy stepped from behind a screen and he gasped at the sight of her.

"Almost. What do you think?" Andy asked beaming at him.

"You look gorgeous, my dear. It's no wonder though since I picked the dress." Nigel replied confidently with a smug grin. "Alright, since you're almost done here, I'll see you soon."

He made his way back to Miranda's office and saw her packing the clutch that matched her dress. He let out a low whistle, catching her attention. "Well, hello pretty lady, can I offer you my arm?" He asked, all gentleman-like. "Roy is waiting downstairs." He said, before chuckling.

"Why, yes sir, you most certainly can," Miranda responded playfully and her low laugh joined his. She was only ever comfortable with him or Andy and felt free to match the playful banter when they were alone together, and since everyone was gone, she let loose.

Stepping to Nigel's side, he guided her towards the elevator but when the door opened she gasped. "Andrea...what...I thought you had to work?" Miranda was stunned. "Are you accompanying me to the gala?" She asked, happy by the possible change.

"There's no gala, my love," Andy stated with a small smile. She took off the cloak she wore over her dress and Miranda gasped once again. She handed Nigel the cape and took Miranda by her hands.

"Is that a...a wedding dress?" Miranda asked in disbelief. She was, once again, stunned by the beauty of the woman she loved.

"Is the queen of fashion seriously asking me that?" Andy teased gently.

Nigel left and the doors of the elevator closed. Andy pressed a button and took Miranda in her arms.

"Miranda, these last couple of years have been the best of my entire life. I have never felt as much love as I do for you and the girls. You are all so precious to me and I can't imagine ever being without you." Andy said seriously. "I want us to be a family and I, therefore, have a question to ask you. Will you be my wife?" She asked, almost on the verge of tears.

Miranda wasn't able to hold back her tears. She nodded and kissed Andy. "Yes." She exhaled shakily.

As they parted the elevator stopped at the 10th floor and they saw Nigel. He was totally out of breath having run down the stairwell to meet them.

"There's more." Andy admitted "Would you marry me right now? In this elevator? Where all this started for us?"

Nigel showed Miranda the rings and the certificate to demonstrate that he was ordained to perform weddings.

"I don't know what to say," Miranda admitted. "Oh, Lord, yes. A thousand times, yes." She breathed as she tried to compose herself and fix her eye make up.

Nigel got into the elevator and Andy pushed the button for the ground floor. Once the elevator started its descent, she pushed the emergency button and the elevator stopped.

"Oh gosh, Andrea. You know how I feel about this...uh...tiny spaces...I..." Miranda started to panic and squeezed her eyes shut tightly.

"Hey, hey, don't panic, my love." Andy cupped her face and Miranda's eyes opened. "If it's too much, we can be out of here in a split second. But this, here...this is where our love story started and this is where the rest of our lives will begin. We went through so much to get to the point we can do this, and no matter what, we will always get through life, together, even if we get stuck sometimes." Andy told her.

Miranda couldn't help but relax slightly and kissed her girlfriend passionately. "You're right, my darling. We can do it. I want to do it." She said and smiled as they parted.

They turned towards Nigel who started to deliver the words that would join them together. "We are gathered here together in this lovely elevator at Elias Clarke, to join these two people in marriage. My greatest wish for you two is that through the years your love for each other will deepen and grow, so that years from now, you will look back to this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least." He smiled. "My closest friends, I'm so happy and proud to marry you and I hereby ask; do you, Andrea Elisabeth Sachs, take Miranda Miriam Priestly, as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?"

Andy beamed at Miranda who was still stunned and had tears in her eyes. "I do." She hiccuped and laughed as she pushed the ring onto Miranda's finger, she was so relieved when it fit.

Miranda admired her ring as Nigel went on.

"And will you, Miranda Miriam Priestly, take Andrea Elisabeth Sachs, as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish until death do you part?" Nigel asked.

"I do," Miranda stated immediately. She smiled as she took the ring out of Nigel's hand and placed it on Andys finger.

"Then by the authority vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you married. You may kiss the bride." Nigel declared.

They both kissed and Nigel hit the button so the elevator would move again. He clapped and as soon as they parted he congratulated them.

"Oh, I wish our Bobbsey's could have seen this," Miranda said as they arrived at the ground level.

Nigel hurried towards the foyer and when they followed, they noticed everything was decorated beautifully and Nigel held a microphone. "Let's welcome the newlywed couple. It is my honour to present to you, Miranda and Andrea Priestly."

All their friends and family were there but most importantly her children. Cassidy and Caroline ran towards the couple to hug them fiercely.

"Finally, we're a family," Cassidy said and they kissed and hugged each other.

"It's time to celebrate, come on." Caroline insisted.

The twins pulled the couple to their wedding celebration and into their new future.
