Oniomania: n. a mania for buying things
Olsen's side business did better than anyone expected, and as a result he, and anyone who invested in it, became rather rich. Normally Hogan would have ignored this and just let Newkirk rake in the winnings from those who chose to gamble against him, but then the buying started.

Garlotti shrugged. "They had a good deal."
