He was in a place that was thick with rolling fog, the sky above him a dark grey. The sound of waves slapping against the shore echoed, and he found himself moving through the fog towards the sound. The darkness seemed to lift as he made his way towards the sound, but the fog grew thicker.

'Turn back.' It whispered to him 'Flee.' It begged. He didn't hear any of it as a final step forward and an instinctual wave of his hand sent the fog fleeing backward as the scene finally became clear to him. Rather than the site of a beach greeting him, a cliff edge met his gaze. It stretched out over an ocean, the waves angrily thrashing and smashing into the rocks below. A crumbling sound had him turning and he watched as a high wave smashed into another cliffside, sending some rocks falling below into the ocean's depths. A man dressed in yellows and greens sat at the edge, his hair patchy around the edges as if the man was balding. Izuku came to a stop well before the cliff edge, but it didn't stop the man from letting out a weary sigh that was audible to the boy's ears as the man climbed to his feet, moving as if his every movement hurt him.

"You're here for information about Sena, aren't you?" The tone was light but the undercurrent held something foreboding, almost as if the man was hoping that Izuku was there for something else.

"I don't know how I got here, but I guess so. Are you-"

"I am Avatar Leodis. The Do-Nothing Avatar who helped herald the end of bending as we know it." Above them the lightened sky began to darken, the winds picking up as the waves shrieked and screeched below. "Every Avatar has inherited the consequences of their predecessor's inactions and actions since the dawn of the time of the Avatar. The age of Korra is no different, and it is my eternal regret that Sena had to deal with the consequences of my inactions." Izuku took a step forward as if to comfort the man but he suddenly found himself locked in place, Leodis' hand being held up. "Don't come near, young one, it will spell your doom."

"My doom-" Izuku questioned only to be ignored as Leodis began speaking once more, his voice getting darker and wearier with each word.

"Each Avatar has a name that they are known as among the spirits. Avatar Korra, the first Avatar of this age was called the Spirit Bringer. Avatar Stephanos, my predecessor, was known as the Peace Bringer, settling the tensions that had arisen between the bending nations. To the spirits I am known as Leodis the lost,Leodis the lazy, the Avatar who didn't know what to do with the sudden appearance of metahumans, I believe you now call them quirks. I heard whispers about a man named All For One and how he seemed to relentlessly hunt benders, but by the time I believed I needed to act, it was too late. All For One was still relatively young when I passed, around 19 years old but he was charismatic, and he had his lackeys do the work for him. Because of my hesitation, because of my indecision, Sena was forced to deal with the consequences. You have been seeing visions of her memories, yes?" Izuku swallowed, his stomach rolling as he thought about the latest vision he had seen. He hadn't even known that that type of bending was possible."

"I have."

"I ask you not to judge her too harshly. My successor had a rough life as you know, and she was forced to grow far beyond her years. The title of the strongest waterbender since Avatar Korra comes with harsh expectations-"

"Strongest waterbender?" He didn't mean to interject that time, his lips moving before he could think about it. He couldn't see Leodis' as the man still had his back to him, but he saw the man nod. Izuku opened his mouth to ask more about it but thunder rolled across the sky, a loud sound that Izuku could feel in his chest.

"Yes, she is considered the strongest waterbender since Korra. She was the most innovative when it came to finding new uses for her water, even after learning all of the other elements, she relied solely on water which eventually became her downfall. Ask her, and I'm sure she will tell you what she was able to achieve, but I will not tell you her full story as it is my fault that it was even written. But, I will tell you this. Sena is known by the spirits as Sena the Ruthless, Sena the Avenger.

"Why-"

"You talk a lot, don't you?" At this Izuku flushed red and mumbled hurried apologies, leaning his head down as Leodis continued to speak.

"It is a title that she accepts and has come to terms with, the exact same way I have come to terms with my own title. I will be frank with you, Sena has killed before yes, but she has also saved. When does one outweigh the other? Does it ever? It is a dangerous balance, and our time together is up but I leave you with this thought. When the spirits come up with a name for you, what will it be?"

Brillant arcs of green-tinted blue lightning left his two extended fingers on his right hand, the excess lightning dancing up into the sky. The resulting boom from the thunder that followed shook the cliff and Izuku allowed his hand to drop to his side, turning away with hooded green eyes. The smell of burnt flesh wafted through the air and Izuku didn't need to look to know that his final attack had done a lot of damage, perhaps even too much.

He wouldn't look though, he couldn't look not when he still had so much left to do, not when he still had to get Kota to safety. Spinning on his heel he dropped down to Kota's level, placing his uninjured right hand on the boy's shoulders as he gave him a once over to make sure that he was okay. Upon seeing that he was fine, Izuku gave him a shaky smile.

"You were so brave Kota-kun. Come on, we're going to get you to safety." The 5-year-old stared at him with watery eyes and nodded, wordlessly climbing on Izuku's back as the green-haired boy turned and squatted down. Little arms wrapped around his neck and Izuku inhaled as he walked to the edge of the cliff. "Hold on tight." Green lightning danced over his body and he leaped into the trees below him, feet hitting the ground and he took off immediately in the direction of the camp, his mind drifting to the feeling that had overcome him as he had bent the lightning, one that he never expected.

It was exhilarating. Even though he had practiced the motions with Kaminari before, tonight had been the first night that he had actually been able to actually bend the lightning (albeit he had assistance from Raava), and he would never have expected it to feel the way it did. He could see now why Agni referred to it as the wiliest of his gifts, Izuku had felt unstoppable, had known what his attack would do to Muscular yet still fired it-

"Midoriya!" His eyes snapped up as he came to an abrupt stop, his mind recognizing his teacher's voice. The black outfitted man stood in front of him with a cut on his cheek, blood slowly trickling down and eyes narrowing as he took in his injured student.

"Sensei, I found Kota-kun! Can you take him, I have to go help the others-" The man was already moving towards him, carefully taking Kota off of Izuku's back and simultaneously passing the boy an uncapped bottle of water that he had taken to carrying after he realized that Izuku could heal minor injuries with water. Izuku gave him a grateful smile, bending the water out and wrapping it around his right hand like a glove. His canteen was no longer around his waist and Izuku didn't know what point he had lost it but it didn't matter, he could always get new ones created.

"Midoriya you're injured, you need to get back to the main area-"

"Sensei, they're looking to kill us. I can't just go back while my friends are still in danger." Izuku interrupted, letting out a soft hum of relief as his arm began to heal, and when he pulled his hand away the deep bruising was a much lighter purple. It still hurt to move and Izuku was sure something was broken but he couldn't afford to waste any more energy on himself. If he was thinking correctly, then his healing would be needed at the end of the night. He felt his teacher's appraising eyes on him and then the man finally sighed before nodding.

"Fine, but first go find Mandalay and tell her that I authorize quirk usage in self-defense." Izuku nodded and leaped into the air, his air scooter forming below him a mere second later and he took off, racing in the direction that he had last seen Mandalay in.

Mandalay was tiring, and her attacks were slowing down a minuscule amount. It wasn't enough to be noticed, but it was enough to be lethal especially when she was going up against villains, villains that had kidnapped one of her partners. To her left, she saw Tiger fighting against the villain Magne, each of them matching each other blow for blow. She glanced in the direction that she had seen Pixie Bob collapsed on the ground, and that paired with her slowing attacks nearly cost her her life.

"This is it for you!" Spinner's voice echoed in her ears, her eyes snapping to the blade that was arching down towards her and she went to move, went to jump back but suddenly a sharp whip of fire cut through the blade, slicing it in half. Both Mandalay and Spinner looked at the blade in shock and then turned to face the person responsible for it, only to see the green-haired boy from Class 1-A who had gone to find Kota.

"He's fine, he's with Sensei!" The boy yelled at her, and it was only then that Mandalay was able to get a good look at him. His hoodie was reduced to shreds, hanging on his exposed upper body that was littered with small cuts that she was sure he didn't notice. His left arm dangled by his side, a slightly bruised purple, and his fingers were crooked, which meant they were either broken or sprained. He had a bruise on his cheek and dried blood covering his face, but his green eyes were alight with fire. "Sensei told me to tell you that we're allowed to use our quirks in combat-" His sentence was cut off as he leaped backward as Magne suddenly spun away from Tiger and lunged towards the boy instead. A gust of air sent Izuku sailing over the woman and he hit the ground next to Mandalay, conveying a thousand things that he wasn't able to say before he took off, racing into the forest.

"Spinner, why'd you let him get away! That's our target!" What? Mandalay's eyes snapped up and locked on Midoriya's retreating back, her lips curling into a snarl. She wouldn't let them take him, wouldn't let them take any of the students.

Students of Class 1-A and 1-B! In the name of the Pro Hero Eraserhead, you are authorized to use your quirks in self-defense! Midoriya, get to safety! According to one of the villains they're after you!

Mina was on edge, and she hated being on edge. Her friends were out there fighting against villains and she was stuck in here, unable to help.

"I hate this!" Her black and golden eyes turned towards Kirishima as he slammed his hands into the desk, tears of frustration brimming in his eyes. She could relate to his feelings of frustration, she was feeling them herself. All of her friends were out there, all of them were fighting for their lives and they could do nothing but sit tight and wait for reinforcements. Mina chewed on her lip as she walked over to Eijirou and placed her hand over the top of his hardened one, squeezing it lightly.

"Eiji." Was the only thing she said and then the red-headed boy was wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight, burying his face into her neck. She nearly flinched away when he did so, forcing herself to stay calm as her own arms came to wrap around her best friend. She still didn't like people being so close to her neck after last week's events, but she could deal with the momentary discomfort for her friend. She lowered her pink head onto Eiji's and then suddenly she was hugged from the side by Kaminari who silently joined into their little hug as they all prayed that their friends would be safe.

Katsuki was having the time of his life. A wild grin crossed his face as he propelled himself forward with explosions, smashing apart the blades that came shooting down at him. It was a euphoric feeling, being able to blast apart the enemy to smithereens even though it didn't seem to have an effect on the insane bastard who was controlling said teeth, but it was still fun to be able to destroy things. Even funnier to destroy things that were trying to hurt Deku. No one was allowed to mess with the stupid green-haired boy but him, and he definitely wouldn't let any fucking villains take the boy.

"Half and half, if you're going to be a shitty distraction then get the fuck out of my way!" A wall of ice appeared right in front of the area that Katsuki had been getting ready to attack, his grin turning to a snarl as he blasted himself over it and dodged out of the way of one of the fucking teeth. Those metal things were getting really fucking annoying.

"We need to work together Bakugou, we have to find Izuku-"

"Don't tell me what to fucking do! Besides, don't you two shitty fuckers have some secret code or something?" A quick glance at Todoroki showed the boy staring up at the villain with his normally blank expression before his left side caught on fire and a steady stream of it was sent into the air. "What the fuck Icyhot, you trying to tell every villain that we're over here?"

"Show me your flesh-"

"YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP WE'RE TALKING OVER HERE!" Katsuki snarled at the straitjacket-wrapped villain, glaring down at Icyhot as another explosion sent him dodging out of the way of a toothed blade, the blade still nicking his arm and causing a drop of blood to well up. Katsuki's vision turned as red as the blood welling up on his arm. He was going to kill that fucker if it was the last thing that he did-

"You don't hear that sound?"

"What fucking-" His voice abruptly died out as the stream of fire stopped and he could hear the sound of stomping feet running directly towards them.

"Kacchan, move!" That shitty fucking- Red eyes narrowed on the green ones and Katsuki moved without a word, blasting himself over to Icyhot's side just as Deku and the octo fucker burst out of the trees, followed shortly by Dark Shadow roaring after them. He could only watch as Dark Shadow completely destroyed the tooth fucker. At the octo fuckers urging, Katsuki, Half and Half, and Deku lit up their bodies and hands, the flame causing Dark Shadow to shrink down. It was only after Deku had bound the now toothless fucker in earth that Katsuki allowed himself to stomp forward and shove the idiot hard, his eyes narrowing in on the obviously broken arm that Deku was allowing to hang limply by his side.

"The fuck happened to you, and why is your dumbass still out here fucker? They're after you in the first place!" The stupid smile that Deku sent him only pissed him off more, and if the fucker wasn't already hurt then Katsuki would have exploded his ass to the moon.

"Aw Kacchan, I knew you cared!" Katsuki glared at him, injuries be damned, and took a step forward only to be restrained by a hand from Icy hot.

"You fucking-"

"Anyway I know they're after me, which is why I came back! I couldn't let you guys get hurt!"

"You altruistic bastard, did you stop to think that WE AREN'T GONNA LET SOME VILLAIN FUCKERS TAKE YOUR DUMBASS!" Deku opened his mouth to say something else only for Birdbrain to step in between them.

"There is much darkness tonight. We need to keep moving and get Midoriya to safety." For once, Katsuki agreed with the extra.

"Get your ass in the center Deku, I'll take the front, Octoarms and Half and Half will flank the sides, Birdbrain will take the rear. Don't you dare pull any heroic shit either Deku, I'll never fucking forgive you." The silence from the boy was all Katsuki needed as they flanked around him and took off quietly, the only sound being their feet crunching against the forest floor until Deku drifted closer to him.

"I'm sorry Kacchan, I didn't mean-"

"Shut the fuck up nerd. You need to talk to your therapist about your suicidal tendencies." For once Deku followed what Katsuki had said, ceasing all talk and drifting back to his spot in the middle. Katsuki kept his eyes forward as they walked, a nearby scream having them snapping their eyes towards it as Katsuki picked up the pace, not waiting for the others behind him to get the memo. He burst through the trees only to find Round Face kicking some blonde girl off of Frog Face, lunging towards the girl with her fingers spread open wide only to suddenly move backward as the girl slashed a knife at her.

"Uraraka!" Half and Half called out, taking a step forward when the blonde girl swung towards them with a bright smile on her face.

" ! Did you get our target?" What the fuck did she-

"I did, and one extra. Come Toga, let us retreat to the rendezvous point." Before Katsuki could react they were gone, the knife bitch disappearing into the trees and the masked man disappearing through the skies. Katsuki spit on the ground, a scowl on his lips as he watched Uraraka help Asui to her feet.

"Where's Deku-kun? I heard the broadcast."

"The fuck do you mean Pink Cheeks, he's right behind me-"

"No, he isn't, ribbit." Katsuki spun around, his vision darkening red for the second time that night.

"Tokoyami is gone too, we need to move quickly-"

"I'm going to kill those fuckers. Pink Cheeks, make us float. Frog face, throw us. You extras better stay out of my way or you're going to get fucking burned!" There must have been something in his face or something in his tone that sent them moving immediately. Shoji and Todoroki flanked next to him, taking care to steer clear of his arms, Uraraka placing her hands on their backs and removing their gravity, Asui wrapping them in her tongue and tossing them through the air. They shot forward, propelled by Bakugou's explosions and his eyes narrowed as they caught up with the villain. "You fucker, give the idiot the fuck back!" A well-placed explosion sent the masked man crashing into the ground below them, all 3 of the boys landing directly next to him as Uraraka restored their gravity. Katsuki's red eyes looked up only to find themselves surrounded by villains.

"Hmm, so these are the students of UA. Quite lacking if you ask me." A villain with blue eyes strode forward, his skin connected with piercings like a patchwork doll. His black hair waved in the wind, and there was a dark glint of glee in his eyes as he stared at them, eyes roving until they landed on the candy cane bastard.

"Todoroki, Bakugou, we're leaving." Octoarms grabbed them and attempted to drag them away, only for Katsuki to drag his feet as the masked man rose to his feet, producing two blue marbles. Despite never having seen them before, Katsuki's instincts screamed at him to grab them and he yanked his arm out of Shoji's hand, leaping forward to snag one out of the man's hand. Catching on to what he was doing, Todoroki lunged forward too, only to be repelled by a blast of blue flame while Bakugou snatched the other away, sending himself flying backward with a marble in his hand and a confident grin on his face.

"I wouldn't look so excited if I were you." The patchwork villain gave them a crooked smirk and shoved his hands in his pockets, reveling in the way that their faces changed to horror as the marble Bakugou was holding changed into Birdbrain and the marble that the Patchwork fucker held turned into fucking Deku.

Katsuki found himself moving forward on instinct, only for Shoji's arm to wrap around him as the villain tightened his hold on Deku's neck, both of them slowly disappearing into a warp portal that was entirely too familiar to them all. Red eyes locked with green, Katsuki struggling to get Shoji off of him.

"DEKU!" He shouted. The greenette gave him a wide smile like he wasn't about to be abducted.

"It's okay, Kacchan. I'll-" And then the portal closed and Deku disappeared, leaving Bakugou alone in the middle of the forest, hands clenching uselessly by his side as he finally ripped himself free and launched an explosion towards the nearest tree.

"FUCK!" His resulting scream of frustration and anger echoed through the trees. "FUCK!" He screamed again, going to unleash another explosion when his wrist was gently grabbed by Shoji. He ripped his arm out of the boy's grip, giving them all a death glare as he silently turned and began to walk back in the direction of the main camp, keeping his gaze resolutely forward even as his eyes began to burn and hot trails of frustration paved their way down his cheeks.

5 minutes earlier

All Izuku knew was darkness. One minute he had been walking in the middle, and the next he was drifting through a black fog, unaware of where he was. He didn't know how long he drifted through the fog before it was gone and he reappeared in a familiar area with bluegrass and a lilac sky. The familiar 8 stars shone in the sky but they were all dim with the exception of the white and blue star, the blue side of it glowing brighter than ever.

"Young One, we have little time but I sense that you shall need my assistance very soon."

"Raava, what's going on? How are we talking like this?" He glanced at his hands, seeing the faint glow of green. He didn't know how he had gotten to the spirit world, normally he was only able to do so when he was close to falling asleep.

"You are being held captive by one of the meta-humans. They intend on taking you to the man who killed us before." Izuku's green eyes widened in alarm as the kite spirit drifted closer to him until she was looming over him. "Do not fear him, young one. Fear is useless in this situation. The solstice approaches, and it occurs on the night of a full moon. This will be a spiritually charged night, and your predecessor will walk by your side once more if only for an instant."

"Raava what-"

"Hush young one, there is no time. Release your fear, young one. It only hinders you. You fear our power, you fear hurting others and you need to release that fear entirely as in the end it will only be you that will be hurt. Trust in us, and trust in yourself young one. We will continue to rise, and rise again."

"Raava, wait-" It was no use as the area around him crumbled and disappeared, and Izuku found himself appearing in the real world abruptly, finding himself locked in place by a hand wrapped around his neck. He didn't panic though, a strange sense of calm coming over him as he found himself staring into familiar red eyes, allowing a smile to cross his face.

"It's okay Kacchan, I'll-" I'll come back, he was going to say, but then he was tugged into the portal and appeared in what seemed to be a rundown bar. He was shoved to the ground and he moved instinctively, rising to his feet and moving to let out a burst of air only to be stopped by a hand wrapping itself around his ankle, and his mind suddenly disappeared in a haze of pain as he crashed back down onto the ground, the hand casually removing itself from his now ruined ankle.

"I wouldn't try bending if I were you, Avatar." Through watery eyes Izuku glared up at the figure that loomed over him, an ashy face coming into view. Blue hair fell around the man's face in waves and Shigaraki waved at him with the same hand that just disintegrated part of his ankle. "Sensei is very excited to see you."

Hey guys! So author note is down the bottom today because I just wanted to mention that if everything seems a little disjointed and a little fast paced, it's supposed to be! Our narrators are unreliable in this chapter because they're caught up in the adrenaline and stuff so there's a bunch of information that they may be missing simply because they don't see it. Besides that, I just wanted to let you all know that I will be taking a hiatus soon, finals are coming up! It won't be a terribly long one, maybe 3 weeks tops but I just wanted to let y'all know!
