A/N #1: The lyrics in this chapter are from the songs True Love written by Cole Porter, the version I've taken from is sung by George Harrison from his album Thirty Three & 1/3; Seaside Woman written by Linda McCartney, from her album Wide Prairie and Seaside Rendezvous written by Freddie Mercury from the Queen album A Night at the Opera.
A/N #2: Really pleased getting the feedback I did for the last chapter, so I'll get started on my thank yous for that! TORONTOSUN (It was great to see you liked how I wrote the last chapter. And it's nice to see you enjoyed the how they care for each other as you put it!) and
Mb (I was happy reading you thought they had a fantastic vacation day. And I love going to museums as well which is why I enjoy writing them going to different ones. I wasn't surprised you've been there when kids are at the age Julia and Mari are and seeing paintings that are more risqué since I remember being at that age and seeing those paintings. And yeah, I can speak of experience with how soccer crazy they are in Spain, lol. Oh and they will go to Italy in the future, lol. And I wasn't surprised that you mentioned the parents didn't really need the dancing to get their groove on, lol. You're welcome for sharing the first half! I was glad that you thought the second half was a wonderfully written update! I wasn't surprised you mentioned the parents getting jealous of the kids having so much fun at the soccer game. And realizing they would be I included the next game, lol, for them all to attend. Not surprised you're jealous at their vacations and them having a nice amount of time for it either since it is great. I was glad you again mentioned they didn't need the club and dancing to get the fire started as you said, and that you said the fire is always burning for those special couples as you put it! I wasn't surprised either that you were worried about the woman at the club would cause trouble, but I didn't want anything ruining their night! And I was so happy that when they were back at the hotel you were happy that Castle and Beckett were lost in each other's passion, lust as well as total and complete trust and love for each other as you put it! You're welcome for sharing the second half of the chapter!).
Thanks so much for the reviews, I loved reading them and appreciate the time taken to write them out and send them my way!
A/N #3: The title of this chapter is a lyric from the song Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay written by Otis Redding and Steve Cooper, from Redding's album The Dock of the Bay.
Watching The Tide Roll Away
Jumping into the water, Beckett felt it covering her soon after and she opened her eyes to find her husband was next to her. She would have smiled at him, but they were resurfacing together and she did so then. "I-" she started to say.
"Watch out!" Eliza cried out before she and Julia were jumping into the water. She and her sister resurfaced, and she laughed at their parents before telling them, "Hi!"
"Hey, I thought you kids were going to the pool," Castle told her as they were treading the water.
"We decided to leave the pool for after," Julia answered with a smile.
"I'm not surprised," Beckett said.
"Hey, out of the way!" Darnley called to them jokingly.
"Hey, I'm swimming here, I'm swimming here!" Castle replied in the same tone before he and his family were swimming out of the way.
"What about Maddy and Keo?" Beckett asked her friend once they'd dove into the water.
"Up with my parents," Nkosi replied. He then smiled and said, "They'll be going to the pool once we're there."
"I can't wait for that," Eliza said.
"Again, you kids were talking about going there before the ocean," Castle commented.
Laughing with her little sister, Julia then told their father, "We have days on the ship again you know."
"I know, I'm just giving you two a hard time," Castle said.
"Splash party!" Jacob exclaimed as he was swimming over to them with the others as they were beginning to splash each other.
"Okay, okay," Castle said laughing as the kids were focusing on him since Julia and Eliza had done so in the first place. "Are we swimming, diving, what are we doing?"
"Diving right?" Eve asked.
"I want to," Marie said.
"Then everyone back on the stairs," Brad said in his most commanding voice before they were laughing together and heading up the steps of the swim platform.
Wrapping her arm around Eliza's shoulders when she was standing next to her, Beckett said, "Are you happy sweetie?"
"Yep," the little girl said, smiling at her mother. Eliza looked back up at the yacht and said, "I'm happy we got to come back."
"Me too," Beckett replied as they were back on the superyacht of Paul's friend. The man had been ended up docking in Gijon and finding out they were there had asked the McCartneys and them to take it around to O Rosal in Galicia where he would pick it up as he was traveling for a while on land, and they would take the train to Madrid to end their trip in the country. That day was the twenty-fifth of July and since they'd arrived at the city and moved onto the yacht the day before they had decided all together to spend time on it and in the water since they had moved to the ocean off the coast of the city. She smiled, thinking then of her and Castle talking with the others about their plans through the rest of the country before returning to Madrid. Since nothing had been for sure, it had been easy to just go with the plan of hugging the coast around the rest of Spain.
"Mommy?" Eliza said then.
"Yes sweetie?" Beckett asked her with a smile.
"Are you gonna go swimming in the pool too?" Eliza asked. "And do we have to take a siesta?"
Beckett couldn't help laughing and then said, "We will and yes." She watched her second youngest pouting playfully before she hugged her and sent her down to the swim platform since she could have a turn and Castle was in the water already waiting for her. She turned to Skye who had walked up to her and was about to ask her about singing when the investigator spoke first.
"I'm sure it won't surprise you; the kids have asked already if we'll sing," Skye said.
"I was going to ask you about it," Beckett said with a smile. "How much did they push?"
"Not much," Skye replied seriously. She then smiled as her friend was laughing softly and said, "My girls asked so I caved in."
"Any suggestions?" Beckett asked her.
"Not sure," Skye said. "Your daughter's supposed to tell me one or two."
"I told you I didn't need to," Julia was calling to them from the water.
"Oh don't say that," Skye said, waving her hand in a playful gesture of dismissal. She smiled when Julia and Mari laughed together and told her, "Really, at least a song."
"There's something you want to sing," the latter said.
"I may," Skye said slowly. She smiled at Beckett and said, "Oh, alright, there's one." She then turned back to Julia and said, "Then think of one for Paul."
"Oh no, one for us both," the singer said. Paul smiled when the two women looked at him and he said to the investigator, "Don't give me that," in a joking tone. "We should do more duets."
"Since it's vacation," Skye said before they were looking to the water as Mari was calling out Julia's name while she was swimming frantically.
"What's wrong?" Beckett asked, walking over quickly to the steps into the water.
"No, I need to ask Paul something," Julia replied before she went to him.
"Careful," the singer said with a slight frown as she was slipping a little.
"Sorry," Julia said before she tugged his hand gently to take him over to the nearest chair on the deck.
"Alright then," Paul said once he was sitting. "What is it you thought of?"
Beckett shared a look with Skye as Julia was whispering into Paul's ear and then said, "Do you think it's one from…" before she trailed off.
"It may be," Skye said though she was frowning.
"I think that's possible, but you need to ask Skye," Paul was saying to Julia.
"Sure," the girl said. Julia turned to the investigator and asked her, "What about Seaside Woman?"
"It's alright," Paul said quickly when Skye was looking at him immediately.
"Well," the investigator said slowly. "I think we can perform that one."
"Great," Paul said. "You'll have the song after that?" When Skye smiled and nodded quickly, he said, "Alright then."
"Great, excuse me," Skye said to them with a smile.
Watching the woman diving, Paul then turned to Julia and asked, "What did you tell her to sing?"
"I didn't," she replied simply. "Skye said she had a song."
"For Mary," Beckett couldn't help saying.
Paul laughed with the two and then said, "I believe so. Though I don't mind."
"I don't," Julia said hurriedly as she knew he was talking to her. "And I actually can't wait to see what it is." She smiled at the two and said, "I'm going swimming again."
"Go sweetie," Beckett said with a laugh, watching her going back to the swim platform. She looked at Paul and then said, "I've always loved that song," in a confession.
"I'm glad to hear that; Julia too it appears," the singer replied.
"She does," Beckett replied.
"Smart girl too," Paul said. "Apropos."
"It was," Beckett said. She then paused and said, "I think I might know what Skye will sing."
"Oh?" Paul asked in surprise.
"Just a guess," Beckett said, smiling at him.
"What're Mommy and Paul talking about?" Eliza was asking her father in the water.
"I have no idea," Castle replied. "She might be asking him to sing."
"No, Julia did," Skye said, swimming by them. "And I have a song."
"What will that be?" Castle asked her.
"None of your beeswax," Skye said jokingly.
Castle smiled at Eliza while she was laughing and he said, "Come on, let's go back and jump in."
"Okay," the little girl said, swimming over to the platform. "Hi Mommy!" she said happily.
"Hey, are you two having a good time?" Beckett said, looking at them.
"I am," Eliza said, hugging her quickly before she went up the steps.
"I am," Castle said hurriedly when his wife was looking at him. "You?"
"I am," Beckett replied with a smile. "You want to ask, don't you?"
"Eliza did first," Castle said quickly. He couldn't help laughing when his wife playfully socked his shoulder and he said, "Do you mind if I ask?"
"No," Beckett said. "We were talking about what song Skye was planning to sing for Mary."
"And?" Castle asked.
Beckett laughed as he was exaggerating his voice and she hugged him briefly before she told him, "I didn't say, neither did he."
"But I'm your husband so you should tell me," Castle replied.
Shaking her head, as she was smiling at the same time, Beckett told him, "I-" before she was interrupted by Josie who was on Jim's lap near them. "I see you sweetie," she said, taking her youngest. She kissed her cheek and was about to ask if she wanted to go on the platform when Castle was coming up behind her and talking to them both.
"You're supposed to be swimming ceann beag," he said, kissing Josie's other cheek.
"Dada," the baby said, reaching out for him.
Taking her hand and kissing it, Castle said, "But before that, tell your mom something for me."
"Rick," Beckett said, rolling her eyes though she couldn't hide her amusement in her tone.
"At least say her name and maybe-" Castle began jokingly.
"Rick!" Beckett protested before they were starting to laugh. She wasn't surprised when her husband kissed her gently on the lips and when they soon after parted she said, "You had to try?"
"Had to," Castle said.
"To be honest it was Gone Troppo," Beckett replied, smiling when her husband exaggeratedly threw his hands up in the air. She kissed his shoulder quickly and was about to tease him about that before Skye was calling to them in the water.
"Rubbish!" the investigator said. Skye smiled as the two were laughing as they looked down at her and she said, "Still, not a bad song considering the circumstances though this isn't the Pacific Ocean."
"Which sea is it Mummy?" Ivy asked from the steps into the water.
"This would be the waters of the Bay of Biscay, or the Cantabrian Sea," Skye replied, getting out of the water.
"Cool," Ivy replied.
"Would you like to see into the waters?" Skye asked her daughter, wrapping her arm around her.
"Opening my eyes underneath?" Ivy asked in confusion.
"No, snorkeling!" Julia said eagerly. "We can go snorkeling right?" she asked her parents.
"Go ahead," Beckett replied as her father was getting up to find a crew member.
"Can I do that too?" Eliza asked eagerly.
"Can you wait until we take your sister in the water?" Castle replied to her.
"Yeah," Eliza said with a smile at her baby sister. "Is she gonna go all the way in?"
"She will," Beckett replied.
"Can I go too?" Eliza asked eagerly.
"Yes," Beckett said as she was turning to look for Josie's swimming vest.
"Here," Martha said, handing it to her daughter in law. She kissed her youngest granddaughter's cheek and said, "We'll watch them while they snorkel."
"Hopefully from the steps," Beckett said.
"We will," Martha said with a smile, knowing her daughter in law was trying to see if she was okay with that. "And it'll be fun kiddo," she then said, lightly pinching Josie's cheek to her laughter.
Eliza, having come up onto the boat, watched impatiently as her parents were getting the vest on Josie before her grandfather and a crew member were coming back. "Thank you, Grandpapa," she said with a smile as he handed her a snorkel and mask. "I'm gonna wait and go with Josa."
"I'll hold them for you," Jim said, watching as Eliza jumped off the boat into the water while his daughter and son in law were taking the baby into it on the steps. He sat down and was about to comment to Martha about how happy they were when Castle's mother was speaking first.
"I wonder do you mind we're not going on the mainland that often?" Martha asked him.
"No, no," Jim said, shaking his head. He smiled at her surprise and said, "The kids are getting tired of churches and museums; I can tell. And they're thinking of White Mount and the pool, so they'll have more fun with this. At least they want to see the game next month." He was startled when she laughed before she was speaking quickly while they were waving to their two youngest granddaughters in the water.
"They're very eager for that," Martha began before they were settling back on their chairs. "Especially since their parents will be with them this time."
"I had the same thought," Jim murmured. He then smiled at Joseph and Bethany and said, "They took the kids?"
"They did," Bethany said with a frown.
"They'll be okay," Martha said quickly, knowing the woman was concerned about her grandchildren in the open water.
"They're wearing vests, aren't they?" Jim asked.
"They are," Joseph said, looking at his wife.
"I know, they are only here as well," Bethany replied with a sigh. She then looked over by the steps and smiled saying, "And they are enjoying themselves."
"They all are," Martha said.
"We must thank Paul again," Joseph said. "So he will thank his friend."
Seeing her father nodding with the other three grandparents, Beckett was going to comment to her husband on that when he was calling to her.
"Love," Castle said again. When she turned to him he said, "Are we taking her underneath."
"Yeah," Beckett said before she turned her attention to Josie. They were soon after going under, she and her husband holding the baby because of her vest. They only went down for a moment, popping up and making sure the baby was okay before they kissed her cheeks at the same time.
"Mama," Josie said with a laugh.
"I'm glad you enjoyed that," Beckett told her as she kissed her cheek. She looked at Eliza, the little girl coming up near them and she said, "Do you want to go snorkeling?"
"I'm having fun," the little girl said in a rush.
"We'll go right now," Castle said with a smile.
"That's it for Josa?" Eliza asked in disappointment.
"I think so," Beckett said. She wasn't surprised when the little girl appeared to be about to protest and she told her gently, "Your grandparents will stay with her."
"I'll keep her here on the steps," Jim said as his family was coming over to the platform.
"Thank you, Dad," Beckett said.
"Mother?" Castle asked.
"I'm here, we'll take turns," Martha said firmly.
"Okay," Castle said quickly before he hurried to follow his wife up onto the boat to get their snorkeling gear. He handed Eliza's set to her and then said, "I wonder if we should have a lesson."
"I know what to do Daddy," the little girl said in mock annoyance.
Shaking her head, Beckett said, "Let's go or we're going to miss seeing everything."
"Did you see that fish?" Mari asked as she and Julia were coming up from the ocean.
"I did," she replied. "The colors were so pretty."
"Definitely," Mari said. "Do you know what kind it was?"
"A wrasse," Jacob said.
"You know what it was?" Julia asked in surprise.
"Yeah, I've seen them before," Jacob said. "But there are way more fish than I thought there'd be."
"They knew you would be coming out today," Paul said, swimming over to them. "I hope you're all having fun."
Nodding with the others Julia said, "We don't have to go on the jet skis all the time." She was startled then when her father was suddenly calling out to them and she turned with the others as he swam over with her mother and sister.
"Did someone say jet skis?" Castle was saying to the others.
"Dad," Julia groaned.
"Sorry, but I was wondering why you were mentioning them," Castle replied.
"Rick, I'm taking Eliza," Beckett said with a smile at him.
"We were just telling Paul we didn't have to go on the jet skis all the time," Julia explained to her father.
"Oh, well I'm glad to hear that but we'll take them out eventually," Castle said.
"Rick," Beckett called to him again.
"I'm coming love," Castle said quickly, putting the diving mask on and then heading over to her and Eliza. "I just wanted to check on them," he explained to the two.
"That's nice, but we really need to get going," Beckett told him.
"Yeah Daddy, it's almost time for lunch," Eliza told him.
Laughing at the matter of fact tone from the little girl, Castle said, "I know, I should have remembered. Are you ready now though?" He wasn't surprised when Eliza was nodding rapidly and he said, "Let's go," before he put his snorkel in his mouth. He dove under with his wife and they were checking on Eliza before they swam towards open ocean. That was only for a little as their daughter was resurfacing and they quickly followed her to make sure she was okay.
"Did you see the fish?" Eliza asked them eagerly.
"The anchovies?" Beckett replied.
"That's what those were?" Eliza asked, putting her head back under the water.
"They were," Julia said with a smile, joining them.
"Cool," Eliza said. "Can we have pizza for lunch?" she then asked rapidly.
Laughing with her husband, Beckett said, "We will, but no anchovies."
"I don't want those," Eliza replied. "I just want pizza."
"We'll have that," Beckett said in amusement.
"For dinner too?" Julia asked.
"Julia," Beckett said firmly.
Smiling, as she wasn't surprised her mother had guessed she was joking, Julia then said, "Just kidding. But whatever we have for dinner will be great."
"Jules is right," Eliza said.
"Okay, then let's dive again before we lose time," Beckett told them.
"I'm in first," Castle said before he went under the water.
"Wait," Beckett said to Eliza. She helped her with her snorkel and then said, "Now we can go."
The little girl wanted to comment on that, but she only smiled before going underneath with her mother and sister. After they had swum for a little, Eliza smiled at her sister since they were the first ones up, and she said, "Can we go on the top of the water now?"
"Yes," Beckett said as she and Castle had joined them. "And we'll do that while we go back to the ship." She half expected the two would protest but when they were nodding, she smiled and told them, "You're hungry."
"Very hungry Mommy," Eliza said with a smile.
"Me too," Castle said, waiting for them.
"We better go," Julia said, smiling at her father before she was getting her mask back on. Once her mother and sister were ready, she was swimming with them and her father along the water so their snorkels wouldn't be submerged. Once they were near the ship they stopped and she said to her sister, "Like the fish?"
"Yeah, those were so cool," Eliza said, smiling at her. "But now I'm super hungry."
"Me too," Julia said.
"They just let us know that lunch was ready," Martha called to them.
"Go on girls," Beckett told them before they were swimming over to the steps. She and Castle followed, the last of them out of the water before her husband was stopping her and getting their towels. She was going to tease him about how fast he was going while he was still wet before her husband was leaning into her and speaking gently.
"I'm not that tired," Castle said.
"I'm not either," Beckett replied, drying herself off. "But we should rest."
Castle nodded, relieved she had said that, and he turned his attention to getting his shirt on once he was dry. On the next deck he stepped into his sandals and walked with his wife up to the deck where their lunch would be. "What's going on?" he asked as they could hear the kids were crying out the next deck above.
"I think they're hyper," David said in amusement as they reached him on the deck by the seating and table.
"And no one's able to stop them?" Beckett asked.
"We've been trying," Brad said.
"Why aren't you able to?" Castle asked his friend in amusement as he was looking at Beckett.
"Because," Brad replied simply, shrugging his shoulders.
Making a tsking sound with her tongue, though she was joking, Beckett walked closer to the kids and called, "If you guys don't stop then you won't be getting pizza."
"Then what would we have?" Jacob said with a smile as he set Keo down as he'd been playfully running with the others while carrying the boy.
"Old bread," Lily answered. She laughed when the others were groaning and she said, "At least you stopped."
"Go ahead and sit at your tables," Beckett said to the kids. When they were all sure they were sitting where they'd been the last time they'd been on the yacht, she went with her husband and the other parents over to the main table.
"I'm glad they're so accommodating," Rebecca was saying after they'd eaten for a little.
"It's their job," David said. "Isn't it?"
"It is," Paul said in amusement as the mayor had looked at him questioningly. "And the ship has passengers."
"We're not any trouble are we?" Castle asked.
"From last time?" Paul asked him. When the writer nodded, he said, "No, Gregor thanked us for not being that for his crew." He smiled and looked over at the kids saying, "Especially since some of them are young."
"You're good parents," Nancy was telling them with a smile.
"We do our best," Darnley said before they were all laughing together.
Beckett wasn't surprised when her Academy friend was then asking the others what they should do with the kids after the siesta, and they discussed it through the rest of lunch. She squeezed her husband's hand and they smiled at each other before joining the others while they enjoyed the noon breeze while it blew around them.
"Okay, the girls are set in their cabins," Castle told his wife as he walked through the cabin and over to the bed in their suite.
"I hope so," Beckett said with a smile as she was watching him. She wasn't surprised when he walked over to her and kissed her gently before she said, "You said you weren't tired."
"No, but to be honest I was just planning to let you say what you wanted to do if we're just resting," Castle said. He wasn't surprised to see her studying him and he smiled before he was about to lean over and kiss her. Before he could do that though, his wife placed her hand on his chest and then teasingly admonished him when he was laughing at the same time.
"You know what I meant about thinking of something to do," Beckett said. She was a little surprised when he grabbed her hand and brought the back of it to his lips though she was smiling soon after. "What did you think of?" she asked him.
Looking up at his wife, Castle smiled and held her hand gently in both his own before he said, "What if we went swimming?"
"The idea of a siesta is to rest at the very least," Beckett told him.
"So we'll go?" Castle asked.
"Yes, but the girls-" Beckett started to say.
"I'll explain to them," Castle replied. He stepped out of the way of his wife as she suddenly stood up and he was moving to kiss her as she pulled him to her.
"Good, because they'll forgive you," Beckett told him teasingly.
"I don't think it's something they'd have to forgive," Castle said slowly.
"Then tell them," Beckett replied.
"But I said…" Castle began before he trailed off. "You're too much sometimes you know," he told her in mock annoyance as he followed her to the door.
"Then do you want me to stop?" Beckett asked, stopping before she could open it. She was startled when her husband suddenly grabbed her, and she had to recover in time for his kiss before they were doing so passionately. "Oh… Rick," she breathed out heavily when he eventually pulled away from her and was going to her neck.
"I know, I know," Castle said with a groan as he pressed his face to the side of her head.
"Come on, let's head out and swim," Beckett told him gently as she carefully stepped away from him.
"Where would you want to swim?" Castle asked his wife in distraction as they were walking down the hallway leading to their cabin.
"I think the pool will be nice," Beckett replied. "Unless you wanted to go in the ocean?"
Shaking his head, Castle said, "I'm good, that way we don't need to rinse off again." When she nodded, he couldn't help wrapping his arm around her, holding her close to his side. "No?" he asked as she glanced at him.
"It's not that, more we're at the stairs," Beckett told him.
"Oh," Castle said, shaking himself to see she was right. He let her go and followed her up the stairs until they were walking down to the pool, where he paused as he quickly spotted they wouldn't be the only ones there.
"For you and I have a guardian angel, on high with nothing to do," Skye was singing as she smiled at her wife. She then noticed something out of the corner of her eye and smiled again saying, "Hullo, hullo," straightening up as she'd been floating on her back.
"Hey, you guys aren't sleeping either?" Mary asked the couple with a smile as she was sitting on the edge of the pool.
"No, we wanted to relax this way before the kids take over the pool," Castle commented.
"I don't blame you, come on in," Skye said with a smile.
Laughing softly, Beckett went over to the seating on the other side of the pool and took off her sundress, leaving it there. "Are you sure we're not intruding?" she asked with a smile as she stepped into the pool first with her husband following.
"Oh no," Skye said. "I was just floating around and singing for Mary."
"Was that the song you were talking about?" Castle asked as he walked deeper in the water.
"No, it's another," Skye replied. "Just felt like it fit the moment."
"It did," Mary said, smiling down at her wife when Skye held onto the side of the pool next to her. She took the investigator's hand and squeezed it as they gazed at one another before she was shaken when Beckett suddenly spoke.
"You know I really feel like we're intruding," she told them.
"So do I," Castle said.
"No, sorry," Skye said first, pulling her hand away from her wife's. "We're really trying to behave."
"Good because everyone else is coming to the pool you know," Castle commented.
"Oh shut it," Skye said teasingly, splashing him.
"She's right, we didn't need that reminder," Mary said. "But," she then directed to her wife. "That just means we have permission to watch out for these two."
"Horny buggers," Skye said jokingly. She smiled when Beckett splashed her directly in the face and she said, "I had to."
"I know, but you two are annoying," Beckett told her playfully.
"Yep," Skye said before they were both ducking under the water and swimming to the end of the pool.
"What was with that?" Mary asked Castle as they were watching their wives.
Turning to her, Castle asked, "What?"
"The way you were looking after Kate," Mary replied.
"Um… nothing, just watching my wife," Castle replied. "Admiring her," he added.
"Oh yeah, I see you doing that a lot," Skye commented as she and Beckett had resurfaced. Since the pool wasn't that big, she had heard them and said, "What do you think grá?"
"Hmm, he might be in trouble," Mary said with a smile.
"We're holding off on being intimate until our anniversary," Beckett said wryly since she knew what the two women were thinking.
"Oh, that explains it," Skye said with a nod.
"Have you guys ever done that?" Castle said as the thought had suddenly come to him.
"We have, not around our anniversary but once in a while we'll play with it," Skye said.
"Hey, no copying," Castle said in mock annoyance.
Skye and Mary laughed with the other couple before the former said, "I don't think you can claim that."
"And it's a good idea," Mary added.
"Alright then," Skye said. "We'll do it until White Mount."
"You can wait that long?" Beckett asked in surprise.
"We can," Mary said firmly. "And remind you the two of you are waiting longer… wait, when did you start?"
"The night after Bilbao," Beckett answered, watching her husband ducking under the water for a moment.
"Oh… that is a long time," Skye commented. "But you'll handle it without a problem."
"Most likely," Beckett said before she swam over to where her husband was hanging onto the end of the pool. She was about to ask if he was okay with their discussion with the two women when he was brushing his lips to hers and speaking first.
"It's alright, just glad they can understand where we're coming from," Castle said. "And their teasing is more sophisticated."
Glancing back at Skye as she was groaning, Beckett smiled and said, "I don't think she liked that."
"To be honest I'm used to it," the investigator was saying with a smile as she and Mary were swimming over to them. "What time is it?" she asked Castle then.
Since he knew the investigator had seen his watch, Castle was looking at it and said, "About fifteen minutes."
"Are you guys planning on swimming in the ocean again?" Beckett asked the two.
Shaking her head, Mary said, "I think we'll just go on the jet skis like we were talking about. I just hope we can work it in before dinner."
"Dinner is later," Skye reminded her wife.
"True," Mary said with a nod. "Or we'll make sure we can all take a turn."
"I think so," Beckett said with a laugh before watching the two women swimming away. Her attention was turned to her husband then as he had touched her shoulder and she turned to him before seeing he was smiling at her.
"Take a ride with me?" Castle asked.
"Of course," Beckett replied quickly. She took his kiss eagerly before they were slowly parting and she said, "Will that be enough tonight?"
"You want to?" Castle asked.
"In front of our cabin," Beckett responded quickly.
"Okay," Castle replied.
Beckett laughed and then leaned over to him so they could share a quick kiss with one another. "Oh shut up," she said to the two women as they were whistling at them. She smiled with her husband before they swam down to them before they started to splash at each other and chase each other playfully as they went around the pool until the siesta was over.
Smiling at their parents, Alexis looked behind her at Julia and said, "What're you snorting about."
"Sorry, I was just thinking that I wonder if Dad kind of tricked Mom into going with him so she would hold onto him," Julia replied, struggling not to laugh.
"I really don't think so," Alexis replied.
"Still, I thought it was funny 'cause I can so see him doing that," Julia said.
"Me too," Alexis replied before they were cracking up in their laughter.
"Hey, take it easy you two," Castle said as he stopped his jet ski near them.
"We're fine Dad," Julia said first.
"Yeah, we're just chatting," Alexis said.
"Oh no," Castle told his wife. "They're planning something."
"I know, the way they were laughing," Beckett said though she was soon smiling at their girls. "We need to go back-" she started to say before she was interrupted as Alexis turned on the jet ski and went around them to head back to the boat. "Well… I think that tells us what they were talking about," she said in amusement.
"That and they're so rude," Castle said exaggerating his voice. He smiled at the way his wife laughed before she was kissing his shoulder and he turned to her so they could share a quick kiss. "I need to go back?" he then asked.
"I think so," Beckett replied with a smile. She held onto him tighter when he started up the jet ski and they were riding back to the boat. Once they'd had gotten off it and made sure it was secure in its mooring, they were taking off their vests and heading up the decks to where everyone was at the one for the other cabins.
"We were just about to head in," Brad said jokingly.
"Yeah, we're here," Castle said in mock annoyance. He then smiled and said, "We'll see you at the table."
"I'm glad that was all they said," Beckett told her husband while they went up another deck together rapidly.
"They saw your kiss out on the water," Paul commented, he and Nancy behind them since they were the deck after them.
"Nosy parkers," Castle said.
Shaking her head, though she was smiling at the same time, Beckett said, "It's not a surprise since we were out in the open."
"He's joking, your daughter saw you," Nancy told them. "Actually, if Josie can see that far she did too."
"Eliza was pointing her out to us?" Castle asked. When the two nodded he couldn't help laughing and said, "At least they're okay with our PDA."
"Really good, we'll see you," Paul said before he and Nancy were continuing.
Reaching for her husband's hand, Beckett walked with him down the hall once they were inside and said as they were in their cabin, "We're taking separate showers."
Castle opened his mouth before he quickly stopped himself and told her, "I keep forgetting we each have a bathroom."
"Yes, so they'll be sperate," Beckett reminded him. She smiled when he let out a frustrated sigh and she kissed his cheek before she said, "But don't worry, we can take one tomorrow."
"Awesome," Castle said immediately.
"Pervert," Beckett replied though she was smiling still. She kissed him again before she went to get her clothes for dinner and hurried into her bathroom. She took a swift shower before she was preparing for the meal which was casual. When she was ready, she walked out to find her husband was outside their cabin, looking at Gijon before she was hurrying outside to him.
"Hey," Castle said, hearing heels on the floor behind him. "I thought you wouldn't mind, I wanted to check out the view."
"I don't and thank you for-" Beckett started to say before her husband was kissing her deeply. She was groaning, as she had put on lip gloss, but only momentarily before she was responding to him and holding onto him tightly.
"Wait, wait," Julia said to her little sister as they had come up on the deck to see their parents were involved in each other.
"Oh, I didn't see," Eliza said before she was sharing a smile with her big sister. "He likes her dress?" she asked eventually.
"Yeah," Julia said, smiling before she shifted Josie to her other hip.
"Maybe you should let her walk," Eliza told her.
"I don't know…" Julia said, glancing at their parents. She saw they were still involved with each other before she turned back to Eliza saying, "Let's go to the table."
Eliza was about to protest when she realized her sister was right before she told her, "Let Josa down."
Julia frowned and she shook her head when her little sister was frowning in response. She was about to tell her she would just carry her when their father called to them.
"Girls, come here," Castle said. He was startled when they turned to him; Beckett having hurried to their cabin to put her lip gloss back on; and Eliza covered her mouth as she'd started to giggle. "What?" he asked.
"Your lips Dad," Julia said, doing her best not to laugh though she had a hard time not smiling since her father was racing to wipe off his face.
