Bloody Roar: Loud Ch. 28 (Lana the Toad/Frog)
This is Season 2 of the series. This season may focus on other Zoanthropes and characters besides Lincoln. Not only that but they are more of a filler arc (chapters that may hold little but not zero relevance on the story).
Disclaimer: Bloody Roar is owned by Hudson Soft, TLH/TC are owned by Nickelodeon Studios. This chapter is rated T and may possibly become rated M if gore, bloodshed and violence are put to extreme. Also, possible Harem/Polygamous relationship implied. That said, I don't want anyone making OTP ship wars since all ships are treated equally. Also, as per rules of AU (Alternative Universes), some events may or may not take place as such, some characters may or may not appear also (just like the Arrowverse, Marvelverse, DCU, etc… you get the point.)

PS: This might be a short chapter considering the plot filler and this even is gonna happen the same as Lola's.
Another school day after the whole night riot from a mall before. The turmoil was caused by people from the Anti-Zoanthrope Front, racist and bigoted group that would go causing havoc, endangering both humans and Zoanthrope alike. But the riot was stopped by Jenny, Lucy and Haiku. Thus this day would be peaceful and less problematic.
Since both Great Lakes and Royal Woods had to deal with the Zoanthrope-related issues equally, Arturo decided to move near the Casagrande Bodega or to the Santiago's residence in Royal Woods. Surely this was a three-hour distant drive but with WOC's tech and transportation, it may take less or even one-thirds of the expected traffic. It was his and Shaun Tucker's idea of keeping Saturnina/Ronnie Anne safe from harm since the Unknown Zoanthrope that attacked Sidney Chang is still on the lose. This eventually leads to Ronnie transferring to Chavez Academy, where her Tio/uncle Carlos teaches there. This would mean Lincoln wouldn't see Ronnie in RW School anymore but they can pay visits since both schools are doing a Zoanthrope-related Collaboration and Exchange Student Program to help the sociability of both Humans and Zoanthrope… for the future.
This week will be the last time the younger one's will be enrolled to Royal Woods Elementary. Heck, Lincoln and his gang will no longer be in Royal Woods Middle School…. For a reason. The Department of Education of America, with the help of United Nations and World of Coexistence (WOC), decided and collaborated to turn the school into a joint school. A united school with three different sections for each grade level (Level 1/Elementary, Level 2/Secondary, Level 3/High-School). this would mean that the buildings will be renovated and moved to a much more distance. To compare it with Chavez Academy, it will be a 1 & 1/2 drive between with smooth traffic (or less for WOC and Tyron- based vehicles). But for now, let us tackle Lana's side story.
Lana Loud, the 8th (or 8th and a half) child of the Loud Family due to being the older twin of Lola (by 3 seconds) and considered as the "grease-monkey" among the sisters due to her behaviour of being tomboyish; distaste for girly things, and passion for mechanical and tinkering works. Not to mention, keeping so much pets of domesticated and some wild/exotic bunch. She prefers the dirt and down-to-earth (literal dirt sense and figurative humbleness) unlike her twin that prefers the prim and proper, egoist, nifty yet haughty style. The twins are opposites, like Yin-Yang. Despite the differences, they love each other…. but sometimes when a third part came to play… the affection can be scaled by a balance. That third party is their own brother.
The dirty twin loves the company and play of her own brother, while the other just for the usefulness and self-gain. This often torn them and distinguish them apart, rivalries expected yet unexpected. Now that the Lone Wolf is making a name of himself as the hero of Zoanthrope and humankind, it was a turn around for them. Lana would one day love to join his endeavors, along with her dreams of becoming a mechanic of the racer, Bobbie Fletcher or a Zookeeper. While the prim twin would want him to come back and be her pillar once more, her butler, her playmate, her somewhat lucky charm for her next pageant. But as one is becoming a fantasy, the dirty twin's ambition will become reality eventually is the mercenaries of WOC allow her. Lana will just have to be patient while her brother do the actions first.
Lana: Well, another day at school I guess.
Skippy: Your brother is lucky you know.
Lana: Yeah, I know. I wanna join him someday.
Skippy: we're both Zoanthropes now too. It's just a matter of whether we'll control our instincts like the WOC guys tell in their seminars. When I transform, I'll be able to use my powers for good!
Lana: Well, we can wait. and at least we have the zoo-keeping or tinkering to fall back on in case it doesn't work.
Skippy: Yeah, you're right. It's just that, eagerness and rush, you know! I wanna beat bad guys and save our kind like he does.
Lana agreed as another girl came and joined their conversation about the Zoanthropes, another grease-monkey of a girl. They are enthusiastic of their chat but one girl came and interrupted their talk. They bumped into a familiar girl that Lana once met. A girl named Lacey St. Claire.
Lacey: Oh great, it's the greasy girl from last contest. And I see you brought your kind here. How fitting, more dirty beggars together.
Lana: Oh, it's you again. From the last dog show. Little miss and proper. What do you want!?
Lacey: Oh nothing. I'm just headed to class. You know I was in a good mood but you guys ruined it so I just have to do something about it. And that's making fun of you dirty, stinky friends.
Skippy: Hey! Leave us alone!
Lacey: Ha! Says the monkey out of his cage! You know, I'm surprised the rioters doesn't mistook you for those animal people. In fact, why should they be here in the first place? They should go back to their animal kingdom for all I care! They don't deserve to be here!
Lana: That's racist, you know!
Lacey: Like I care. They're not human anymore! They're just monsters that pretends to be human. And that werewolf boy, it's only a matter of time before he ended up doing what werewolves do, scaring and hurting people.
Lana: My brother will never do that!
Lacey: Oh, he's your brother. The white-haired kid that got mistaken for an old man! Hahahaha! Oh this is so good, the monkey and the wolf are siblings! Hahahaha, how laughable!
Lacey then left them to their devices as she headed to her next class.
Skippy: The nerve of that girl! So mean.
Lana: Forget it guys, let's just go to class. I heard this is the last week that the school will be separated because they're joining the schools together. Meaning, I get to see Lincoln from time to time. Unless, he got a mission and had to be homeschooled. Then again, he's on vacation so he's free from WOC duties.
Yup, Lincoln was meant to be in vacation. He still is and trying to catch up to his academics. Meaning he left the investigation onto the hands of the WOC soldiers/mercenaries. Hopefully Gado would finally have Busuzima and the one responsible for Sid's infection to the prisons where they belong.
It was their biology class and since Lana petitioned to have frog-dissections to be removed, they have no choice but to rely on flower-pressing. There had been different types of flowers found, as if the whole class in botany section. Well, for now they have to study pollination and plant reproduction. The different variety flowers are passed from students to students, each with varying fragrance that could mistake someone from having perfume or cologne. Although Lana disliked the scent, she prefer the study more than dissection so she endured it. In a different science classroom, some other students are doing experiments for their own projects. One of them was able to create an incredibly potent insect perfume for catching bugs and pests that could either help in pollination, trap parasitic critters or just simply catch them for collection. This would be a good household pest control to be patented for the coming science fair but its potency could lead them swarming so it had to be kept in flasks or diluted in water to decrease its range. Unfortunately, it kinda spilled some to the clothing of one student (Lacey St. Claire), which will inevitably make her a bug bait. The student notice the flask spilling so he enclosed it before wasting it all but the spilled content on Lacey's clothing cannot be undone.
Thus a misfortune occurred in the school vicinity. Critters such as cockroaches, bees, mosquitoes, houseflies and/or others started swarming over her. What's worse is that the prim girl's perfume merging with the bug bait chemicals caused the alluring scent to be amplified. Lana and Skippy just finished their biology class when the chase began.
Lana: Isn't that Lacey!?
Skippy: Well, looks who's the gross one now!? She's attracting those critters to her!
Lana: Yeah, and do you smell that!?
Skippy: Yeah, I used know that smell. It's like a bug bait used in collecting bugs and pests. The school gardens also use them to attract pest from infested plants so that they can't damage the flowers and herbs.
Lana: But why does she smells like one?
Skippy: Must be from the other science classes. Making bug baits for household and gardening stuff. The perfume isn't helping either. Some insects are allured by scents like these.
Lana: Should we help her?
Skippy: I feel like she deserve it but, I dunno? Should we? I mean she's always been a meanie to us.
Lacey ran somewhere to hide her scent but it was futile, eventually she reached the exit and ran away from the incoming swarm but the path leads to a road. They noticed also that there's an incoming flower truck that is approaching and could bump her if nothing is done about it. Lana, filled with conscience did the next best thing and transformed into her Zoanthrope form. She grew some markings and her eyes changed. Her skin slightly changed (some remained as skin while some grew green spots and warts) and her fingers and toes appeared to have frog or toad-like appearances. Her tongue also shifted and gained superb jumping capabilities and mucus secretion which either lubricates her body, give off toxins to prevent attacks and/or adhesiveness to attache from surfaces. Once the transformation is done, Lana used her long tongue to grab Lacey and slightly pull her away from the truck's path. This ensured the prim girl's safety and the smoke from the vehicle's pipe nullified the effect of the perfume bait. Not only that but the bees attached themselves to the flowers on the truck while some critters still swarms and are about to attack Lacey. However, Lana used her abilities to feed and devour the critters and thanks to her Zoanthrope qualities… she can now be insectivorous (bug-eater).
Truck Driver: Holy smokes, are you girls alright!? I'm so sorry about that. I need to pay attention to the road.
Lana (Toad/Frog): We're okay.
Truck Driver: Oh, thank heavens. Say, are ya one of those beastmen that some news are reporting? And you just saved this girl. My, how brave. I knew not all of your kind are that bad. Some people are too over-exaggerated.
Lacey: Save me!? That creature almost killed me. Look at her! And her tongue, yuck! She's licked me! She's probably gonna eat me!
Truck Driver: Now hold your horses, young lady. She just pull you away from my truck. If she didn't do that, you could have gotten hurt or worse! The bump you'll get could have break your bones and left you to die. Do you not feel grateful she saved your life? Plus, the think those critters were bothering you. You do smell like bug bait.
Lana (reverts to human): That's okay, mister. I know what I did. She's not gonna live it through though. She's been mean to me since before so you don't have to change her mind.
Truck Driver: Well, I'll be. You're a humble little girl. Well, alright. I'll let you all off. Say, help me with some of the flowers. I need them to be delivered so, pretty please.
Lana, calling out Skippy, helped the driver to pick up the flowers and put them back to where they belong before leaving. Then they both returned back to the class. The parents of Lacey St. Claire heard the event and are surprised to know that a Zoanthrope saved their daughter's life. This gave them a new perspective and saw that truly the Zoanthrope were no threat to society. Lacey is still unconvinced and tried to complain to her parents and make them sue Lana Loud. But interventions came, by the form of the white-haired middle school boy and his curly-haired best friend, Lincoln and Clyde. The St. Claire parents saw the local vigilante that had been protecting the place for their safety became respectful of the boy. Lincoln only came to pick Lana from the school, but not without the scolding.
Lincoln: You know, if you really don't want me to do my work and help make this place better by making peace for both humans and Zoanthropes. Then please, tell me if you could do better by being a spoiled child. We Zoanthropes are human too, only gifted with abilities of nature to help balance and protect it from threats. You think your arrogance can help anything? What did you do? You just won a dog show. Yet many lives are still out there needing of help, and you're complaining? Go ahead, tell me if you could have done anything.
Lacey remained silent then Lincoln reprimanded.
Lincoln: Our job is to keep people safe. Whether they are grateful or not is up to them, really. But reflect on yourself and think if you could have done something. If it wasn't for us, you could have been at the hospital bed… or worse, your funeral. If you can't be thankful for that action, at least be silent and cherish your extra life that had been given to you. It's even a miracle my sister decided to save you despite your constant criticism.
Lana and Lincoln then left them to their devices. The St. Clair parents then decided to discipline their daughter about gratitude and humility while Lincoln had a chat with Lana when they walked home. Lincoln is surprised that Lana asked if she's allowed to join him on WOC when she reached Lincoln's age (11-12 yrs old).
Lincoln: I'm gonna be honest, Lana. I'll let you but I wouldn't recommend it. The WOC isn't just a government-issued help volunteers. We're also a boot camp training on worldwide issues, including the Zoanthropes. We go to wars, kill, assassinate, shed blood and torture. Our action might be for all that is good and right for all but the fact stays that we've done horrible things too. The blood of the soldiers and the enemies are on our hands, just like how Pop-Pop explained the life of a Marine Servicemen. We're still guilty of taking lives and hoping an praying to the Divine Creator for forgiveness. Do you think you're ready to hurt or kill for self-defence and protection of those you hold dear?
Lana: I… don't think I ever will.
Lincoln: It's okay if you can't. There are alternatives. You can be a Zookeeper like Sid's mom. Or you can be a plumber like you used to do, or a mechanic especially since you've dreamed on being part of Bobbie Fletcher's crew, right? Listen, Lana, you can still help even if it's small. I don't want you to suffer this burden but if you wanted to, I'll be there to help. If you don't, it's okay also. Know that your big brother loves and supports you whatever you choose.
Lana: Thanks, Linky.
And that was one great sibling relationship. But how about Lola? How will she thread this? Well, let's see what happened in her side of things… on the next chapter.

AN: And that brings us to Lana's chapter. Only two more left before we go to non-Loud characters such as Sid and some others. We've already have moments with Clyde and we might have more (which will include a secondary ship, with Penelope) and see how Sid search for the one that turned her into a Zoanthrope. But before all that, we'll have Lola and Lisa's time to shine.
Lana's Zoanthrope form is kinda similarly combine from the Sage Mode (from Naruto) and Tsuyu Asui/Froppy's quirk (from My Hero Academia)
