"ASH! SERENA! OVER HERE!" Bonnie shouted from a table.

They had chosen a somewhat public area to meet up for lunch, but were going to spend the rest of the day together.

"I have to say the changes that have occurred are quite astonishing." Clemont said, looking at the two trainers.

"Eeeeee!" Bonnie squealed. "You two! You're! You're!" Bonnie said excitedly pointing between them.

"Bonnie, use your words." Clemont said.

"You use your eyes! Look!" Bonnie said still pointing at Ash and Serena's interlocked hands.

"So you finally figured out she liked you." Clemont said with a smirk.

"I didn't finally figure it out, I just didn't want to let her know the feelings were reciprocated after she had bought the ticket to Hoenn." Ash said sheepishly.

"Did me a real favor there, letting me go to Hoenn." Serena said sarcastically.

"Hey! I can be blamed only for that much, we still don't know what told you to go into the wormhole." Ash pointed out.

"I have so many questions, but they can wait until later." Clemont said.

After Lunch

"I know you two must be excited to go home and sleep in your own beds again, but I was hoping you could help me with a project Ash." Clemont said.

"Sure, how can I help?" Ash asked.

"Do you have Gliscor and Palpitoad with you?" Clemont asked. "Clembot has been having a hard time with the types when one is weak to electric, while the other is ground."

"And since I already have a gym badge, I don't need to rush the fight, and can let you adjust him." Ash said.

"Precisely!" Clemont said.

"Yeah, I can help with that." Ash said in agreeance.

"But what about spending time as a group?" Bonnie pouted.

"Bonnie I could use your help with something while they play with your brothers robot." Serena said.

"Okay!" Bonnie said cheering up. "And I can bring you to see Squishy."

"Have fun." Ash said as Serena followed Bonnie.

"Good luck." Serena said back.

"Alright Clemont let's do this!" Ash said.

"Come forth Heliolisk." Clembot stated.

"Marshtomp I choose you!" Ash called out.

"A Marshtomp! When did you get that!" Clemont said in shock.

"A while ago, is that okay?" Ash asked.

"Not a problem, same typing as Palpitoad. Ready whenever you are." Clemont said giving a thumbs up.

"Alright then, Marshtomp use Mud Bomb!"

"Heliolisk use Quick Attack."

Mud was launched at Heliolisk as it sped out of the way, striking Marshtomp.

"Now use Whirlpool!"

"Use Parabolic Charge."

Heliolisk was caught in the Whirlpool, as the electricity was dissipated from Marshtomp.

"Remarkable! It's accounting the move rather than the type!" Clemont said.

"Can it be fixed?" Ash asked.

"Easily, try another move." Clemont responded.

"Alright then Marshtomp use Rock Smash!"

"Heliolisk use Aerial Ace."

Being trapped by the water gave Heliolisk a late enough start that Marshtomp was able to strike first, sending his opponent flying.

"I think I've found the problem, let me adjust it, and we'll try again." Clemont said.

With Bonnie and Serena

"Since when are there four Zygarde?" Serena asked.

She was familiar with the red one, Squishy, and the blue one Z2, but where had the green one and purple one come from?

"This one's name is Verde, and this one is Fiona." Bonnie said, holding up the two new ones. "Don't tell Clemont though, he doesn't know there's more of them yet."

Back at the gym

"Alright Gliscor I choose you!" Ash said throwing out a pokeball.

"Magnezone come on out." Clembot said.

"Gliscor use Fire Fang!"

Ash and Gliscor were a bit confused as Clembot didn't give an attack.

"Umm, Clemont, I don't think it worked." Ash pointed out.

"I know, hold on." Clemont said typing away the keyboard.

"Can't Clembot watch and learn battles as well?" Ash asked.

"Well, yes but how will that help…. Oh I get what you're saying." Clemont said. "Okay Clembot! Watch and learn!"

"Gliscor use Fire Fang!"

"Magnezone use Lock On!"

Gliscor chomped down on Magnezone as the latter took aim.

"Now use Giga Impact!"

"Use Flash Cannon!"

Gliscor bounced off of Magnezone as an attack struck his wing.

"Magnezone use Tri Attack!"

"Gliscor use Stone Edge!"

Gliscor fell out of the way of Magnezone's attack, before striking it from below.

"Gliscor use Fire Fang!"

"Magnezone use Flash Cannon!"

With Serena and Bonnie

"So Ash looks different now." Bonnie said.

"Yeah, why bring it up?" Serena asked.

"Do you like how he looks?" Bonnie asked.

"It's hard to explain, the new look is different, but if anything he looks even cuter to me like this." Serena said.

"Maybe that's what Clemont needs!" Bonnie exclaimed.

"To look like a girl?" Serena asked confused.

"No, maybe… no. He needs a new look!" Bonnie said. "Then he's sure to find a wife!"

"Oh Bonnie, never change." Serena said with a smile.

Back at the gym

"Okay, one last time." Clemont said loading the modified program.

"Ready Pikachu?"

"Pika!" Pikachu said, taking the field.

"Come on out Stunfisk."

"That's a new one." Ash said shocked. "Pikachu use Quick Attack!"

"Stunfisk use Sludge Wave."

Pikachu slammed into Stunfisk having easily outran the Sludge Wave.

"Now use Iron Tail!"

"Stunfisk use Muddy Water."

Pikachu was pushed back by the large wave, having gotten trapped in the stands.

"Pikachu get out of there and use Quick Attack!"

"Stunfisk use Mud Bomb."

'You need to fight with a changing tacit because that's what makes you special.' Wes's words echoed in Ash's head.

"Pikachu knock it back with Thunderbolt and Iron Tail!"

Clemont watched as Pikachu shot the attack with electricity so he could knock it back right at Stunfisk.

"Ash that was amazing! When did you learn to do that!" Clemont said astonished.

"Just came up with it, sorry if you needed the program to win." Ash said, apologetically.

"Against you, no. But I did get useful information to help make Clembot more versatile." Clemont said happily.

"If you two are done, can we do something as a group now?" Serena asked from the entrance.

Later that night

"Alright then! Burgers all around!" Clemont and Bonnie's dad said, holding a platter.

"So Ash, Serena, what are your plans now?" Clemont asked.

"We're going to Vaniville Town, I'm going to see my mom again tomorrow." Serena said. "And before you ask, I don't know what I'm going to do or say, I'm just going to take it one step at a time."

"I was just going to say that I'm glad you're finally agreeing to go and see her." Ash said.

"You know, we could come, it would be just like old times." Clemont said.

"It'll be fun!" Bonnie piped in.

"I don't think you have an option Serena, we're all going to be there for you." Ash said with a smile.
