Descendants 3 Chapter 29

Episode 20B

The powerful blast blew the remaining witches of the coven back, several feet away from the coven symbol. The orange liquid disappeared.

Alex slowly sat up on her elbows. She saw her sister sitting up, looking confused. "We're free." Alex said.

Tilly got up and felt her head. "What was that?"

"Tilly?" Lena called her. She got up quickly and went over to her.

"Yeah? Oh God, what did that coven make me do?" Tilly asked.

"Hey don't blame us." Camryn said. "It was Gothel. And her few loyal witches." She nudged her head over to Saraphina.

"We're glad you're back," Rogers said. "We were worried."

"I'm sure you were. I was worried too. I don't even remember what happened after putting the cloak on." Tilly shuddered and took off the coven cloak.

"But that blast was actually," Lena looked over to Marnie who was still holding Brittney. But Brittey was moving. She was alive!

Rumple stared at Marnie and Brittney in awe. He glanced over at Lena, smiling. "She did it."

"How is that possible?" Lena asked, terrified.

"Is it the coven's power or something?" Rogers asked.

"I can't do that." Camryn quickly replied.

Saraphina stood up on her feet. She brushed off some of the dirt and took her cloak off. Her work clothes were still on underneath. "You didn't stop the curse. It can't be stopped."

Everyone in the room looked at her.

Saraphina continued. "We just won't be tree nymphs with Gothel when the storm comes."

"Well thank goodness for that," Camryn said.

Brittney couched and sat up. She wasn't sweating anymore. Her breathing was regular.

Marnie stroked Britt's cheek.

"How do you feel?" Rumple asked her.

Britt nodded. "I feel okay, actually. I don't feel any pain." She laughed a little to herself. "No pain."

Marnie smiled and the two touched foreheads.

Saraphina turned around and left the room quickly while everyone was focused on them.

"But I thought all magic comes with a price." Alex said. "You can't just bring someone back without consequence."

"It's not like she was dead for long." Lena said. "Maybe there was still a heartbeat."

"No, Brittney was dead." Rumple said quietly.

"But it's a balance of nature." Lena said. "Who's going to take Britt's place?"

"Well of that curse hits, everyone will." Camryn said.

Lyra was on her way back to the apartments when she walked by the cemetery. The hyacinth flowers were in full bloom. She went over to the graves, reading the names on them. Victoria Belfrey had a large tombstone with flower holders on the sides. Henry's fake family had gravestones. There were two other behind them that caught her eye: Dorey Flemish and Allen Nona.

Her eyes quickly moved from side to side, as if their names were a code. Flemish. Fisher. Flemish. Mel. Melody. The letters fit. It's Melody! "Melody Fisher." Lyra gasped. There's a fake gravestone for her. Her body isn't buried in this land. Even the dead have fake names. Couldn't see her as a Dorey.

She looked at the other name, Allen Nona. Having Melody in mind, it didn't take her long to figure out what this name was an anagram for: "Neal Nolan." Neal Jr.

She sat on her knees between the two gravestones. She carefully touched Melody's gravestone. "I miss you both so much. You missed all the fun." Tears began to form in her eyes. "We might be seeing each other again soon." A loud thunder came by. "I love you both so much. And I really hate time travel sometimes. It always comes at a cost. Someone always dies. And this time everybody dies. Even if we survive this, I'm going to lose another friend..."

Crunch.

Lyra stood up and turned behind her. "Saraphina, what are you doing here?"

"To tell you to call your parents." She said.

Lyra scoffed at her comment. "What?"

"They love you and they won't see you again for another 8 or so years." Saraphina said. "Give them a call while you still can."

"You don't get it. If Gothel succeeds in wiping us all out, I won't have a family to find. The real me in this time is a child. She hasn't even met you yet. She doesn't even know about magic or other worlds. She'll still meet Will but everyone else will be dead. So much of my history will be undone. My family's history will be erased." Lyra said. She moved out of the cemetery.

"I'm sorry I can't change any of that." Saraphina said. She followed her out to the sidewalk. "But I can let you say goodbye before it's too late for you." She cupped her hands and two viles of water appeared in her hands. She offered them to Lyra.

Relecutantly, she accepted them. "What are these?"

"Waters of Dunbroch." Saraphina said.

Lyra narrowed her eyes. "Why did you save my brother? You helped him be poisoned in the first place."

"I've seen a change in Gothel and I do not like it. She sees all humans as evil and wants to kill them all again. I was silent last time but I cannot let her do this again. Not to people I care about. Not to people I've gotten to know in this world." Saraphina explained.

Lyra watched her, still unsure.

The thunder grew louder around them.

"I know you think we're all evil but it's not like that. When we cast the curse to bring everyone here, Sarah Sanderson asked to be separated from her sisters. She didn't like what the coven had come to. She wanted a fresh start, even though she wouldn't remember her sisters."

Lyra's expression seemed sympathetic. She seemed to be trusting her old friend.

Suddenly, Saraphina gasped loudly. Her stomach arched outward. There was a red spot at her get and it quickly got bigger.

"So much for loyalty," Gothel said in Saraphina's ear before shoving her body to the ground. She held a sharp knife in her hand covered in Saraphina's blood.

"No!" Lyra said. She went over to Saraphina, kneeling down to her.

Gothel cleaned the blade with a kerchief nonchalantly. "Good news. I have room for one more witch in my coven."

"Burn in Hell!" Lyra shot back to Gothel.

Gothel smirked at her comment.

Lyra held Saraphina's hand until her grip softened. "Hey, I'm right her." She kept saying. "Look at me. It's your friend Lyra. Remember when you first showed me magic."

Saraphina nodded a bit. "Yeah," she tired to say.

"And when-uh," Lyra tried to kept the conversation positive. "When you were sent away, you promised that we could be reunited. And you kept the promise."

A tear went down the side Saraphina's face.

"You're not evil." Lyra told her.

Saraphina seemed to smile before taking her last breath.

Lyra squeezed her hand with no response. She brushed some hair out of Saraphina's face and closed her eyes.

Gothel watched Lyra, curiously. She tilted her head watching Lyra care for this person she claimed to hate for so long in their last moments.

Henry visited the graveyard later that day, as the sun began to set. Time was running out. Saraphina's body disappeared after she died. Gothel moved her to another location, buried in the earth.

Lyra saw Henry visiting his fake family's graves and clutched the two viles in her hand. She stood up and went over to him. "Henry?"

He turned back to her, confused. "Can you wait a minute? I'm visiting my fam-"

"Your family is right in front of you. And I think I can prove it-" Lyra said. She held the viles out in her hand.

"Enough Lyra!" He shouted at her. "This isn't a game. My real family died and they are buried here."

She ignored everything after he said her name. A smile grew on her face. "What did you call me?"

He realized what he had said and pinched the top of his nose. "Candace. You know what I meant. God, you keep calling yourself that. It just slipped out. It doesn't mean anything."

She sighed and squeezed the two small viles in her hand. What are these for if not Henry? She was going to use them to pour over his fake family's graves to show that no one is buried there, but he doesn't believe in magic. That wouldn't prove anything. But if she poured it over the grave someone real…

Lyra glanced at the two viles and back at the graves that were anagrams for her two lost friends. One knew Henry… Hopefully this works. "Henry," Lyra finally spoke again, "Watch this."

Henry watched her, very puzzled, as she went over to Allen Nona's gravestone. She uncorked one of the viles and poured the thick water on the grass beside the hedge-stone.

"Hey," Henry said. "C'mon now. Respect the dead."

"This was my friend." Lyra said, turning back to him. "Watch." she repeated. The water on the grave glowed brightly.

Henry stared at it, and back at her. Could this be it? Is he remembering?

Then the water went back to how it was before. Seemingly ordinary.

They were silent for a moment before a body stood behind the gravestone. Lyra slowly looked up at the figure. Sure enough, it was her friend. "Neal!" She screamed and hugged him. She wrapped her arms around the back of his neck. He held her around her shoulders.

Henry continued to watched in utter confusion. "How did-" He pointed at the mysterious man and turned behind him as if the answer was back there.

Lyra released her grip on her friend and held his arms. "Hi."

"Lyra," He smiled at her. "I've been a while."

Lyra tried not to burst into tears. She nodded at him quietly, holding back those tears. "I wasn't sure how this would work. You have a physical body." She placed her hands on his shoulders.

He nodded and chuckled. "So it appears." He smile lessened. "I only have a short time here." He nudged his head towards Henry.

"Oh right," She looked over to her brother. "Hey, look. You saw that didn't you?"

Henry still looked absolutely dumbfounded.

"He came out of nowhere." Lyra explained. "This vile," she showed him the empty one, "brought him here. Neal, tell him."

Neal took a step towards Henry. "Henry. I know you don't remember this, but you're my nephew."

Henry looked away from him, processing all of this or perhaps thinking of a possible explanation for what was happening.

"I didn't exactly have a great life." Neal said. "I was named after your father, Neal. Or Bealfire as he was called back in the Enchanted Forest." He continued to walk up to Henry, slowly. "I struggled to learn magic, so Regina had you come in to help me since you weren't too good at it either. I mean, you didn't learn it until much later in life. I was the worst in the class. Despite my namesake, I was a bit of an outcast."

Henry looked up at Neal suspiciously. Was any of this getting through to him?

Lyra put her hands together up to her mouth. She hoped that this would work. She fought the urge to stand beside her friend. She only had this short time with him. Oh, how she wanted him to meet baby Melody.

"When I went back in time with Lyra, Hope, and Lena," Neal Jr. said, "I got to spend time with you as a teenager. We played video games. Your favorite was Kingdom Hearts."

"Two." Henry and Neal Jr. said at the same time.

Henry glanced at him, growing more weery. "What is this? Were you in the same foster home as me?"

Neal Jr. shook his head. "I spent much of my life in the Enchanted Forest. It was so nice to visit a world with technology. I was nice to get to know you as a kid. And now, you need to remember it." He took a step closer to Henry, reaching his hand out.

Henry backed away from him. "This is a part of your fantasy." Henry said to Lyra.

Lyra shook her head queitly. "Neal was one of my best friends and he died so that Robin could come back and raise his children. Be your stepdad. One of them, anyway."

"His favorite step dad, anyway." Neal commented.

Lyra giggled and high five'd her friend.

Henry tilted his head a them and backed away slowly.

"Where are you going?" Lyra called after him.

He continued to run off without answering her.

Rather than dwell on the failure, Lyra embraced her friend again. "How much time do we have left?"

"Not much." Neal Jr. said. "I can already feel myself slipping away."

"Are you in the underworld?" Lyra asked him.

Neal smiled and shook his head. "I've moved on to the better place."

"Are you happy there?" Lyra asked quickly.

He nodded. "It's very peaceful there. I've met Neal."

Lyra's jaw dropped.

"Yeah he's great." He say in his fake gravestone. "I mean, I did learn about the whole Emma in jail thing. So that was a bit sketchy."

Lyra laughed sweetly and sat next to him.

"And that whole engaged to Tamara thing was weird, but other than that he's great. He's happy for Emma and her daughters. He wishes he could have been around longer for Henry. He wishes that he was around to stop his dad from some of the shady stuff he did. And he wishes he could have met his sister-well, wishes he knew that Moraine was his sister before. He spends a lot of time with Gideon though. Those two act like they're been brothers all their lives."

Lyra smiled big, "Lena will love to hear that."

Neal Jr. smiled at her. "Oh and Belle is there too. She's like everybody's mom up there. Melody has grown close with her." He took a breath. "We do get to watch over everyone, but we can't interfere, which sucks."

She couldn't stop smiling at him. "I miss you."

"I know you do. Hey, I miss being down there with you. And mom and dad. But I'm still there in a way, watching over you guys. Listening to your prayers for me." He nudged her. "You got married. And named your girl Melody."

Lyra nodded at him, as the tears started coming out.

"I am so happy for you. Roland came back to you. Hope set the story straight. This is your happily ever after." Neal Jr. said.

"It doesn't feel like it." Lyra said.

Lightning struck the town from the storm. The wind started to blow more powerfully.

"I have to go." Neal said. He stood up.

"You didn't deserve this." Lyra said. She stood up on her feet too. "You should still be here with us."

"It's okay." Neal Jr. said.

Lyra hold on him faded. He was be becoming transparent. "I love you Neal." Lyra said. "You always were one of my best friends. I never wanted to change that about my life."

He smiled a little at her before disappearing completely, leaving her alone in the graveyard.

Henry went to his apartment, putting the pieces together, or trying to. He found a phone number for a Henry Mills in the present in Storybrooke, Maine. He dialed the number and a boy picked up the phone. As soon as the boy spoke, Henry Mills woke up. He remembered the conversation because the other boy was him!

Finally remembering everything, he ran out of the room and quickly found Lucy, hugging her and spinning her around the room. Despite their heartfelt moment, the curse was not broken yet. A majority of the town was still asleep. Hope, Leia, Cinderella, Tiana, Nook, Alice, etc.

Henry ran out of the house with Lucy to find Jacinda/Cinderella, his wife. When she wasn't home, he went next door to see Roland. He quickly hugged his step-brother. "Roland!"

Roland's eyes widened with glee. "You remember?"

"I do." Henry said. "Oh and I am so sorry for taking forever to believe."

Baby Melody started getting fussy on the floor, underneath a mobile.

Henry smiled and say beside her. "Hey Melody. It's your uncle Henry."

Baby Melody looked at him and tilted her head.

"Where's Lyra?" Lucy asked, standing in the doorway.

"Oh she's in the other room. She's going to call her parents in this time." Roland said.

"It can wait." Lyra said, rushing out of the room, stubbling around the corner. "You remember!?"

"Come here sis." Henry said. He stepped away from the baby.

Lyra ran up to him, and hugged him around the back of his neck. "Finally."

Henry leaned back, picking her up off the ground.

After reuniting with parts of his family, Henry ran to go find his mom, Regina. Without magic, she still tried to take on Gothel. Gothel blasted Regina back, hitting her head on the ground.

Lyra rushed after her brother, not wanting to lose him again. She messaged Lena that it was about to go down, one way or the other. Lena and Tilly rushed to the town square to stop Gothel too. The other witches followed Tilly.

"I'm not missing out on taking that witch down." Camryn said.

Lena smiled at her comment. "Alright. Let's go."

While walking outside towards the town square, Marnie walked next to Lena. "What happens if the curse breaks? I mean, is everybody completely different people?"

Lena power walked down the street. "No, they're actually pretty similar people." She looked over to her. "Don't worry. Britt will still like you."

"Did you know her before?" Marnie asked.

"I knew of her." She thought back to her visit to Twilight Town. "Her real name is Namine."

Lyra also texted Will that it might get resolved in the next hour. Will went into the living room with Nadia and Charlie.

Henry held his mom, who was unconsious and told her he loves her before kissing her forehead. The beam of light came from the kiss, spreading across the entire town. The curse was broken at last!

Regina woke up, happy that her son remembered her at last.

Across town, everyone was waking up.

Hope woke up inside Weaver's home. The magic blew in her face and hair. She blinked a couple times and called for Will.

Will was right behind her in the kitchen. He walked over to her, smiling like an idiot. "Hope?"

She nodded and said, "I remember." Hope said with a huge smile on her face. She quickly kissed Will on the lips while holding the back of his head.

"Ew," Charlie said, making a face at him. He was sitting on the couch. He shook his head and suddenly his eyes widened. "Will," he said seriously, "Where's Lyra?"

Will lowered his eyebrows at him. "So you are Roger?"

He nodded his head. "Long story. I can't believe was here. In this house. And I didn't even know her. I have to see her."

"Yeah. Lena said they're all at the town square." Will said, grabbing his coat. "Come on."

Leia woke up from the curse, seemingly confused at first. She slowly got up and ran outside and down the street. She found her sister at the town square and rushed over to hug her. "Lyra!"

"Leia!" Lyra said. She hugged her sister back. "I'm so sorry you locked up by Facilliar all that time."

"It's okay." Leia said. "We can kill him later."

"Leia," Henry said with his arms out.

Leia went over to her big brother and hugged him too.

Cinderella found Henry and Lucy and reunited with her family.

Roland heard everyone outside reuniting, so he grabbed baby Melody and left the apartment to go find his sister.

Hope, Will, and Roger left Weaver's place to join the crowd at the town square.

Roger found Lyra and screamed her name. "Lyra!" He waved his hands in the air.

Lyra turned away from Will and Roland to see her old friend. "Roger."

The two ran up to each other and hugged. She spun him around and placed him back on the Stewart ground.

"You're alive." Lyra said. "I can't believe you're here."

He smiled at her. "You've had quite the adventure since we last saw each other."

Lyra laughed a little. "I was right. I do have magic and I'm not an orphan." She beamed playfully.

He chuckled. "So I heard. Congratulations."

Lyra grabbed his hands. "I have so many people to introduce you to."

Regina saw Hope and moved through the crowd to embrace her daughter once again. She held her by the back of her head.

"Mom," Hope said, wrapping her arms around her. "It really is you."

"Gothel was really twisted with this curse." Regina said, holding Hope's face. "But it's all over now."

"Not quite." Gothel said, reappearing in the town square, in the midst of the crowd.

The remaining witches of the coven came forward. Marnie held Britt and Alex's hands. Alex held on to her sister's hand and Camryn held Tilly's hand. They still looked like a sisterhood. A sisterhood of young witches. Good witches.

"This is over." Marnie said, confidently.

Britt/Namine lifted her chin up. "You don't care about us. We were just a means to an end."

Leia got closer to the front of the crowd surrounded by the townsfolk. She eyed Gothel and said, "Your only power was the power to keep us apart."

"And now you don't have that power anymore!" Marnie finished. The witches all joined hands.

"When we put our hands together," Alex said aloud.

"We're invinsible." Camryn said to the other witches.

Their hands each began to glow a bright white color.

Gothel tried to plea with her 'sisters' and her daughter.

"You tossed be aside like rubbish." Alice said. "You kept my father away from me since I was 10! I was all alone in that tower. You threatened my father, today. You chose hate," she looked over at her dad and Lena, "But I chose love."

The witches hands became even brighter. The witches extended their arms out, towards Gothel, using their powers against her. The blast of magic from five witches was no match for Gothel. She soon stopped moving and turned into a tree.

Britt/Namine stepped forward and asked, "Does anybody have an ax?"

"She's not coming back." Marnie assured her.

"No, she has a point." Lyra said, siding with Namine. "Gothel was a tree nymph."

Suddenly an ex appeared in Lyra's hand. After a moment, Lyra realized that her magic was back.

Roger's eyes widened in amazement, seeing his friend so magic.

Regina tested out her magic too and smiled, having that part of her back.

Lyra handed the ax to Namine who gladly chopped the tree down.

Alice pulled Lena aside, grabbing her by the arm.

"It's finally over." Lena said, taking a relaxing sigh.

Alice smiled and quickly pulled Lena in for a kiss. "I missed you so much."

Lena grabbed her hands and squeezed them. "It's good to have you back."

"How long have you been awake?" Alice asked.

"Oh, for weeks." Lena said.

Everyone in the town square was happily reunited with their families. Hope had Will and her mom and her brother. Lyra had her husband, daughter, and brother. She had her friends with her. Hope went over to hug her brothers and her friends. Lena had her dad and Alice. The witches of the coven even had each other. The twitches, now with their memories, stated how much Facilliar hated them. They couldn't believe that their cursed selves even endured him.

"We will deal with him," Regina promised.

"But can we do that tomorrow?" Marnie asked. "It's been a long day, and I need some time to recharge."

The witches nodded in agreement.

Marni and Britt/Namine took a walk down the block.

"So you're real name is Namine?" Marnie asked.

Namine asked. "And I live in a world that to you, os a video game."

"Yeah, my brother loves those games. I mean, I've played too but I remember you messed with Sora's memories. Kind of like this curse-"

"This wasn't me." Namine said. "I can only do one person at a time." Namine explained.

"Are you going back there?" Marnie asked.

"I don't know." Namine said. "I don't really have anything there. The organization just wants me for my powers."

"Ah, like Gothel?" Marnie teased.

Namine tried to hide the smile as she nudged Marnie with her arm.

Back in the town square, with everyone happily reuniting with their loved ones, Lyra glanced over at her best friend Will. He was so happy with Hope. He was no idea. Hope was no idea either. Their happiness is about to be shattered.
