CH 29
"Well, what shall we do this afternoon?" Jack asked.
"Shopping and see our new house" Sam said.
"Dad, care to join us?"
"Sure, I'll meet you both topside in half an hour"
"Ok" they walked out of the gate room and went their separate ways.
Jacob went to see General Hammond while Jack took Sam back to their quarters where they got changed.
"Sam, where would you like to go to first?" Jack asked while he was taking off his dress blues.
"Baby 'R' us, I want to see what they got and start buying nursery things, then I was thinking the mall next, then home"
"Sounds good to me"
After Jack was changed and his uniform put away, he then helped Sam get changed into maternity clothes since she had bought some on the net and Janet had brought them to the base two days earlier after she had washed them for Sam. Once Sam was changed and Jack helped her back into the wheelchair, he bent over and gave her a kiss.
"Shall we?"
"Yes, lets go and spend some money"
"Ok" Jack pushed Sam's wheelchair out of their room and headed to the elevators.
Ten minutes later Jack pushed the wheelchair over to his truck. He saw Jacob there waiting for them.
"Sorry if we are late"
"It's ok, so where to first?"
"Babies 'r' us" Sam said.
"Ok" Jack helped Sam into the front of the truck while Jacob took care of the wheelchair.
Once they were all in, Jack drove them into town. They talked for the next twenty minutes till Jack parked the truck outside the shop. They all got out and Sam was in the wheelchair. Jack pushed the wheelchair with Jacob next to them. They walked inside to see what they got there.
They looked at what the store got and bought a lot of baby clothes, diapers, baby bottles and other baby things. When they got to the counter, they paid for the things including three bassinets, three cribs, high chairs, car seats and a triple stroller which was going to be delivered to the house the next morning for them.
When they finished there, they went to a maternity shop where Sam bought some clothes. By the time they got back to the truck, it was getting late so they decided to go and check out their house. On the way they stopped off to get some Chinese takeaways and drinks, then Jacob gave Jack directions to get to the house. When they were close to the house:
"Slow down Jack, it's the next one on the right, the yellow house"
When they saw the two story house with triple garage they fell in love with it straight away.
"Wow, Dad, it's beautiful" Sam said.
"I knew you would like it"
Jack turned down the driveway and stopped outside of the house. Jack helped Sam to get into the wheelchair while he picked up food and drinks. Then he walked up to the front door and unlocked it and opened it up; then he was in and turned to where the keypad was and pushed in the code which turned the alarm off.
Then he walked into the foyer just as Jack was pushing the wheelchair inside the house. They could see boxes everywhere. They followed Jacob in to the living room where Jack's and Sam's furniture was.
"Well, we haven't sorted out where you want to put everything, we will leave it for you two to sort out"
"Thanks" they walked into the kitchen where Sam's small dining table was.
Jacob pulled a chair away so Jack could push the chair closer for Sam. Jacob put the bags on the table, then he and Jack sat down. They talked while enjoying dinner. When they finished, they talk some more for the next hour before Jacob left them alone while he went to his cottage for the night.
Jack wheeled Sam into the living room where they talked about what they wanted to keep and what they wanted to trade in. Once they had decided, Jack pushed Sam through the house to see where everything was. When they were in the office, they saw Sam's computer there already set up. They left to see where everything else was. When they walked into the laundry room they saw Sam's washing machine plugged in.
"Jack, since we're staying the night here I might as well put some of my maternity clothes through the washing machine"
"Good idea, I'll go and get them"
"Thanks" Jack walked out of the laundry room to get the bags from his truck.
When he returned, he passed them to Sam so she could sort out what clothes she wanted to wash first while Jack turned the taps on and the power switch. Then he opened the lid and put the washing liquid in and waited for Sam to pass the clothes to him.
Sam took the price tags off the clothes and passed them to Jack so he could put them in the machine. While Sam was taking the tags off the clothes, they were talking some more. In the end Sam decided to wash all of her clothes. When they were all in the machine, Jack put the fabric softener in then closed the lid down and turned it on and the turned to Sam.
"So, what would you like to do now?"
"Use my computer so I can update my anti virus and check my e-mails"
"Ok, while you're doing that I'll start putting things away in the kitchen"
"At least you won't be bored"
"Funny"
Jack pushed Sam down to the office and left her to her computer while he walked down to the kitchen and started sorting things out. A few hours later Jack stopped what he was doing, then he walked down to the laundry room where he put the wet clothes into the drier and turned it on, then he walked down to one of the guest bedrooms where his old bed was. He made the bed for them, then he walked down to see how Sam was. When he walked into the office Sam turned and smiled.
"Come on, let's go to bed and get some sleep"
"Sounds good to me" Sam finished what she was doing, then she closed her computer down, then she turned to Jack.
"I need to go to the bathroom first"
Jack nodded, then he walked up behind Sam and pushed the wheel chair out of the room. He pushed it till they were in the guest bedroom. Then he help Sam to her feet and walked into the bathroom where he help her out of her bib overalls and shoes, then he left her to do her thing while he stripped down to his boxers and tee shirt. He just took his jeans off when he heard Sam call him so he went to the door and opened it. He walked in and over to Sam, who was at the hand basin drying her hands.
"Come on, let's go and get some sleep"
"Sounds good to me"
Jack helped Sam back to the bedroom where he helped her getting into bed, he removed her socks for her then pulled the sheets and blankets over her, then he put the socks on top over her overalls before he got into bed himself. He turned off the lamp, then rolled over onto his side and leaned forward and gave Sam a kiss.
"Night Sam"
"Night Jack, Lantash"
"Good night Samantha" Sam smiled, Jack snuggled up to Sam's side and they closed their eyes and fell asleep.
During the night, Thor beamed up Mark and his family one by one and beamed a tracker into them, then returned them back to their beds, then beamed the next one up.
The next morning Jacob woke up early, so after he had a shower and got dressed, he walked up to Jack's and Sam's house when he and Selmak realized that there was no food in the house. So when he walked into the house after unlocking the door he found Jack's keys, so he got a pen and paper, he wrote a note, then he grabbed Jack's keys and left to go into town to get some breakfast for the three of them.
Jack woke up when he heard his truck start up, he quickly got up and ran out of the room and down to the front door. By the time he opened the door his truck was turning on to the road. He could not see who it was.
"Damn it"
'Perhaps it was Jacob who borrowed your truck'
'Yeah, maybe' he closed the door and walked into the kitchen where he saw a note; he picked it up and read it.
'Jack, I'm borrowing your truck to go into town to get some breakfast since there is nothing in the house; I'll be back in half an hour. Dad'
'Well, you're right, Dad did borrow my truck'
'Well, you better get back to Samantha, you might have woken her when you got out of bed'
'Good idea'
Jack walked back to the bedroom to see Sam still sleeping, so he went and relieved himself before returning back to bed. He and Lantash watched Sam sleep while they talked for ten minutes, when Sam opened her eyes and turned her head and smiled.
"Morning" Jack said.
"Morning, what time is it?"
"After seven"
"Ok, how long have you been awake for?"
"Not long, my truck woke me, Dad using it to go into town and get us some breakfast"
"Ok… what do you feel like doing today?"
"Shopping, and we can look upstairs to see which room will be the nursery"
"Sounds good to me" he leaned over and gave Sam a kiss which became passionate, when they broke for air, they looked into each others eyes.
"Jack"
"Yes, Sam"
"I need to go to the bathroom"
"Oh, ok"
He got up and helped Sam get out of bed and into the bathroom, then he walked back out closing the door behind him. He got dressed and made the bed. He just finished when Sam called out. He walked back to the door and opened it to see Sam drying her hands. So he helped her back to the bedroom and to sit on the bed.
"I need to pee"
"I'll wait here"
Sam watched Jack walking into the bathroom and closing the door behind him. Sam looked around the room thinking till Jack opened the door and she looked at him.
"What are you thinking about?"
"This room, I don't like the wall paper"
"I agree… paint?"
"Yep"
"Ok we will talk about it over lunch for now let's get you dressed, shall we"
"Good idea"
"Do you want to wear some thing different today?"
"Yes, thanks"
"I'll be right back"
He walked out of the bedroom and walked down to the laundry room, then he returned with a basket full of clothes. He put the basket on the bed and let Sam look through them. She picked out a tee shirt, stretch pants and a jersey since the weather was starting to cool down. Jack watched Sam as she changed her top, when her top part was changed she looked at him.
"What?"
"Sam, we are going to Victoria's secrets to get you some maternity bras"
"Are you paying?" she said smiling.
"For you… yes, so long as I chose" he flicked his eyebrows at her.
"Well, then you want to help me with my pants" she threw the pants at him.
Jack help Sam put her pants on and socks and shoes. Once dressed, Jack helps her to stand up and walked over to the wheelchair and in it. Then he pushes it out of the room and down to the kitchen where they talked while Jack finished putting everything away.
Ten minutes later they heard Jack's truck pull up outside, so Jack went to greet Jacob at the door. When he opened it, Jacob was opening the back door to get the bags out then he closed and locked the door before walking up to the front door.
"Morning Jack"
"Morning Dad, I got your note"
"Oh I hope you didn't mind?"
"No, I thought someone was stealing it, Lantash said that you might have borrowed it"
"Ah, is Sam up?"
"Yes, and hungry" Jacob laughed as they walked inside, closing the door behind them; they walked into the kitchen area to see Sam waiting for them.
"Morning Sam"
"Morning Dad"
He put the bag on the table then kissed Sam's forehead before sitting down. Jack went and got three glasses then returned and sat down. Jacob brought two liter of orange juice; he went to Burger King where he bought all sorts of different rolls for breakfast. Then he went to a bakery where he brought donuts since Selmak liked them. They talked while enjoying their breakfast. When Jack and Jacob finished, Sam was still eating.
"So where do you want to go today?"
"Victoria's secrets" Jack said.
"Why?"
"I need maternity bras, Dad, and that is where I get them from"
"Oh, any where else?"
"The mall; it's been… months since I was last at the mall" she said smiling.
"Funny, Sam"
When Sam had finished her breakfast and the rubbish was taken away and the glasses were cleaned, they decided to check upstairs. Jack pushed the wheelchair to the bottom of the steps, then he helped Sam to stand up, and then they slowly walked up the steps to the second storey. They checked out the bedrooms and bathrooms.
They decided to have one of the bedrooms next to their room as the nursery. When they saw the master bedroom, it was two times bigger than Jack's old bedroom. When they walked into the bathroom there was a corner shower, bath, toilet and his and her hand basin. When they finished looking around, they walked back to the steps and slowly walked downstairs, then Jack helped Sam get back into the wheelchair.
"Well, Sam, it sounds like we got a lot to do within the next few weeks"
"I know"
"Jack, Sam, why don't you two head into town and do some shopping, I'll wait here for the baby things"
"Are you sure, Dad?" Sam asked.
"Yes, it will also give me a change to catch up on my mail"
"Ok, but we will be back at lunch time with some lunch"
"Don't bother, I'll order some takeaways"
"Ok, call us if you need anything" Jack said.
"I got everything"
They walked to the door where they put their jackets on, then Jacob passed Jack the keys to his truck, then they walked down to the truck and he helped Sam up in, and the wheelchair was in the back. Jacob gave Sam a kiss on the check before they left. Jacob walked back into the house just as Jack and Sam were leaving. Jack went to a gas station to fill up first. Then they went to Victoria's secrets since they opened early in the mornings.
When they got to the shop, Jack helped Sam out of his truck and into the wheelchair. Then they walked into the shop. Jack pushed Sam over to where the sign was for maternity bras and panties. They looked at what they got. Jack picked out ten different sets and showed them to Sam.
"Well, what do you think?"
"Jack, silk and lace?"
"Yes, I think they would look sexy on you" he flicked his eyebrows at her.
"You really think so?"
"Yes, even Lantash agrees"
"I would like to hear that for myself" Jack lean forward.
"I agree with O'Neill, you will look beautiful in them, he just pictured you wearing them and I agree"
"Thanks, Lantash" then Jack moved back.
"Well, what do you say?"
"Ok, you two win"
"Sweet" he gave her a kiss.
Then he passed them to her, then wheeled her over to the counter where Sam passed them to Jack and he put them on the counter, then he pulled his wallet out and got his credit card out and passed it over to the sales assistant.
Once paid for and the items were in the bag, they walked out of the shop and back to the truck where Jack put the bag in the back seat, then locked it up. Then he pushed the wheelchair down to the paint shop.
They looked at the different color charts that they got. They were there for an hour before leaving the store. Jack pushed Sam down to where the public toilet was since she needed to relieve herself. When finished they returned back to the truck and decided to go to the mall.
On the way they stopped at a furniture store where they went to see what they got in. They were there for two and a half hours. In that time they bought a bedroom suite, three, nine piece dining suit since the dining room is along, and four lounge suites which got a two seater and a four seater. They even bought themselves a lazy boy chair. Once paid for and everything signed they left with smiles on their faces.
