Camila and Eda sat in the main room, reading in silence.
"I wonder if the kids are having fun." Camila said.
Eda looked through Penstagram and started laughing.
"Well, I think I know the answer to that." Eda said.
She showed Camila the pictures from Grom, mainly the one of Luz and Amity kissing during their slow dance.
"Remind you of another young couple?"
"I'm just glad she didn't wear that otter onesie like you did." Camila said.
"Hmm, this picture says otherwise."
Eda showed Camila the picture of Luz getting Grom Pictures in the otter suit.
"She is way too much like you." Camila said.
"Her grades in the Healing Track says different. She's more like you in that regard." Eda said, "Hey, Cami. I wanted to ask you something."
"What is it, Dear?"
"I know you already answered this, but... have you ever thought about having another kid?"
"Eda, do you think we can handle another kid? I mean, we have four girls in house. Do you really think we can handle another one?"
"Camila, we have a manor with a thousand rooms, we have more money than anyone on the Isles, we could handle another kid, no problem."
"Tell me, would this kid grow feathers and wings? Would this kid have claws? I remember Luz had those, if we did have another kid, would they end up like she did?"
"Camila, I'm cured, Luz is cured, there is no way that our kid would be born with a curse again. Even if they were, we can get them cured the second they show any symptoms."
"Edalyn-"
"I'm not asking if you want to have one right now, I'm just asking, in case we do decide we want another."
Camila rolled her eyes and closed the book.
"Well, the way I see it, we have at least an hour until the girls get home." Camila said, getting close to Eda's face, "Why don't we try for that kid?"
"There's the little minx that I remember." Eda said.
The two press their lips together and Eda removed Camila's hair tie, letting her hair fall. Before they could get past first base, the sound of glass shattering rang through the manor. Smoke filled the room and Camila and Eda started coughing. A large group of witches came in and hit Eda in the back of the head with a club. They pull Camila away as they tied up the unconscious Eda. Camila was face to face with the Terrorist Leader.
"Sorry for the sudden intrusion, but I need a small item from you." He said, grabbed her neck, "Don't worry, this will only hurt... a lot."
He reached towards Camila's chest and placed his fingers on her gem.
"Maybe your daughter will get back in time for you two to say goodbye." He said.
Hearing that, brought out the worst in Camila. Messing with her is one thing, but saying something like that, brings out the mother in her. She opened her hand and her staff manifested. She closed her eyes and when they opened, they were glowing blue. She released a massive blast of magic and sent the leader into the wall. Eda may call herself the greatest witch to ever live, but they both knew who that title really belongs to. Camila gripped her staff as a blue glow surrounded her. The magic even affected her voice, instead of her nice motherly voice, it was deep and had an echo with it.
"Sorry, you don't have an appointment, and I'm sure as hell not accepting walk-ins." Camila said.
She charged at him and sent him through the wall. He landed in the forest and she managed to get to him quickly. She was floating a few feet about the ground and spun her staff. Her and her staff landed on the ground, hard. A large blast of magic was released, moving everything. Even shaking several large trees. Camila looked at the witch in front of her.
"You will never have this." She said, pointing to the gem embedded into her chest, "I will defend it to my dying breath."
She slammed her staff against the witch's chest, pinning him towards the tree.
"Maybe it's not your breath we're willing to take."
Camila glared at him until she realized.
"Eda."
She flew to the manor and saw them beating Eda. Something in her snapped and with one snap of her finger's, she lit them all on fire. Fire so hot they burned to ash in seconds. She moved over to Eda, trying to make sure she's okay, before a knife was stuck into her chest from behind. Her gem was cut out before she knew it and she started to breath heavily. The leader picked up the small blue gem and smiled.
"Finally, all the pieces are falling into place."
He made a spell circle and disappeared. Eda started to wake up and saw Camila.
"Cami!? Can you hear me?!" Eda said, "D-d-don't worry, I'll get you help!"
Camila started to close her eyes. The Healer's Gem has belonged to her family for centuries. It was implanted into her chest after she developed a heart problem, without it, she falls into a coma and will die.
