"come on kid, that's not how ya should behave next to your new pal." Frisk looked at the hooded person who said that, and then pulled out a large plastic cushion from underneath them, after which they held it up towards him. "did noone tell ya this stool is boobytrapped?" The figure reached out his hand towards Frisk. "the name's sans." As Frisk shook his hand, another loud farting noise sounded through the room.

Frisk froze for a moment, before they started laughing. "I'm REALLY bad at dodging those, am i?"

"yup, ya really are." Sans loosened his hand. "so you're a human right? hilarious. say, your voice sounds rather familiar… you're the kid with the wrong phone, aren't cha?"

After a few moments, Frisk finally realized. "Oh! You're that friend of Alphys! The one that called in the Ruins!" Sans grinned (although he already did that).

"yup, the one and only. guess it's time to keep true on my promise huh? grilbz, 2 hotdogs please." The bartender silently handed them over. Sans grabbed a red bottle from his pocket and handed it towards Frisk. "ketchup?"

"Yes please!", Frisk answered. After they were done with it, they handed the bottle back to Sans again. Out of nowhere the skeleton then put it against his mouth and started gulping it down, leaving both Frisk and Napstablook with a very grossed-out face. Grillby looked away, returning to his glass cleaning. "Are you… Seriously DRINKING that just like… That?!", Frisk brought out.

Sans winked. "hey, ain't the weirdest stuff ya can drink kid. like, it could've been mustard. heh, now that'd be ridiculous." Frisk felt a slight discomfort, and from the look on Napstablook's face he felt the same way. Neither of them seemed to want to be rude, however, so they just sat there awkwardly as Sans told the bar a few bad puns. Most of the monsters were laughing loudly in response, even Grillby letting out a snicker, but Frisk could not have figured out the funny part if their life depended on them.

However, mercy soon came in the form of Napstablook's phone buzzing. His face grimmed a little as he picked it up and saw the received message. Frisk's lips silently formed the words "Mettaton?", and Napstablook nodded. "oh, right… i and the kid have an uh… appointment… yeah, we gotta go now… i'm sorry…"

"oh, that's aight." Sans looked away, but looked back at Napstablook as he and Frisk stood up. "guess i should applaud ya for confronting your cousin. not many could do that."

Napstablook flinched, and ectoplasm started dripping from their forehead. "what do you mean with that?... do you think?..."

Sans closed his eyes. "well, ya said you and the kid both have an appointment, and we both know only one person here would have an appointment with a human. ...or were ya perhaps planning to just ditch them and leave them on their own when they'll need ya the most?"

Napstablook looked down ashamed for a moment, but then looked back up, an angry look in his eye that wasn't usual for him, just like the tone in his voice. "it's not like you have the right to talk about family matters, sans. i'll help the human, but it's for her sake, not yours."

Upon hearing the first sentence, an expression of shock appeared on Sans' face. Frisk could swear they saw a glimpse of blue in his eyes, but within an instant, it was gone. Not only that, but so was the white, his eyes now only showing a black void, while the door suddenly opens, releasing the cold wind inside. Frisk stumbled backwards in shock, tripping over their own feet and landing on the floor. Without a word, Sans left a bunch of G on the counter, before turning his back on the 2 and walking out. "…close the door.", Grillby said right after Sans left the building, after which the door slammed shut.

Frisk stared at the door in surprise, no, slight shock would be the better term. "W-what happened?", they brought out. However, Napstablook didn't answer, silently floating out through the closed door. Frisk stood up and ran after him. "W-WAIT!"

As he was outside, the ghost looked around, but Sans was nowhere to be seen. "i'm sorry…", he muttered, before noticing Frisk behind him. A long silence fell, neither of them really knowing what to do now. "sorry…", Napstablook muttered a minute later. "sans was right there… i didn't want to help you truly confront him…" He looked down. "i'm a coward… i'm sorry..."

Frisk tried to lay a hand on his "shoulder" to comfort him, but it phased through. "Hey, if i had cousins i wouldn't want to fight them either. You're not a coward And it sounds like Sans was being unreasonable there, not you. And you promised to help anyways even though you're supposed to kill me like these other guards, so you're the bravest little ghost i know."

Napstablook cheered up a little. "...i am?..." Frisk nodded, and a look of confidence appeared on his face. "let's go then… the sooner it is over, the better…"

The 2 walked past a large house Napstablook mentioned was theirs, until they reached a large fog cloud, which neither of them could see anything in. They wandered inside, and as they approached the center of the fog, a beeping sound came from underneath Frisk. As they looked at their feet they just could see an alarm tile going off, before a voice pierced through the fog.

"Welcome darling, to the greatest and last show you'll ever see!", they heard as Mettaton's silhouette came into Frisk's view as he slowly came closer. "Ladies and gentlemen, today is the day the human will meet their tragic end. Today, we will finally be free! Now let the show begin!" The fog around them started to vanish, forming a clear circle around them. As the duo came into view, Mettaton suddenly flinched. "B-blooky?!"
