Chapter 29
Ash and Lillie are now at Konikoni City, and they decide to do what they need to do first, which is the Island Festival. After the preparation, they see that Elio is attending this one for his fourth sticker.
"Welcome to the Island Festival in the Konikoni City. The theme of this place is actually the cooking show-off! Today, we have a special judge to help us out for this occasion, please welcome the Trial Captain, Mallow."
Mallow is sitting next to Lillie as she waves her hand, after she sits down, Lillie says, "You know, I was surprised that you would agree to help with the judge."
"Come on, Lillie. A cooking showoff is awesome, I can't wait to see how this will go." Mallow says.
"And for now, please welcome the first contestants." Ash says as they can see Elio being in the first group. As they watch how they cook, they manage to cook something special. But unfortunately for Elio, he lost against another one who creates a great delicious cake that attracts Mallow, which means he lost his first Island Challenge.
After the first round is over, Ash and Lillie decide to visit Elio, who is depressed at his loss. Ash asks, "Elio, are you okay?"
Elio sighs and says, "To be honest, I am not good at cooking food...It is no wonder that I lost in this Island Festival."
Lillie says, "It is fine, you have done your best. If you don't know, Satoshi here isn't good at cooking as well, but he never gives up on it, which is why he is now a great cook."
"Yeah." Ash says, "What matters is that if you have the heart to win this competition. That is why you will need to work hard for it."
Elio smiles and says, "Thank you, Satoshi, Serena. I will come in next week so I will cook even better than this one."
Ash and Lillie nod as Elio leaves the stadium, after judging the others, they find a winner and gives him the sticker.
After leaving the Stadium, they decide to explore the city, Ash says, "Looks like this Konikoni City is quite special as well."
"I know. Look at that place, it is a message stall." Lillie says, "The Message in Konikoni City is also one of the best."
"Really? Maybe we should check it out." Ash says as they enter the place to have some message. They also send out their Pokemon to do the message, and much to their delight, Meowth evolves just because the friendship is high enough and the fact that it is also night time.
Rotom says, "Persian, Alolan Form, a Dark Type. It looks down on everyone other than itself. Its preferred tactics are sucker punches and blindside attacks.
"I feel like my head is bigger, don't you think?" Persian asks Ash, who sweatdrops and says, "But you evolve, that is all that matters."
The next day, since most of the stores are closed at night, they were treated in Mallow's restaurant, as Mallow tells them about Olivia's Jewel Store, a place where they decide to go next. But on their way, they spot a trainer as she is training with three Pikachus.
"Look at all these Pikachu! It's like a Pikachu splash!" The woman says.
"Yeah." Lillie says.
"I'm so tickled pink that I think I'll give you this." The woman takes out a Z Crystal and gives it to Ash, much to his surprise. Ash asks, "What is this?"
"This is Pikanium Z, it is for your Pikachu." The woman says as they thank her, then they decide to head towards Olivia's Jewel Shop, only to find that she is not in the store.
A Probopass suddenly comes to them and he gives the letter to them. Lillie reads it and says, "Ash, Lillie. Olivia here. This is Probopass. It watches the shop whenever I am away. I know I asked you to meet me here, but there's been a change of plans. Come meet me at the Ruins of Life past Memorial Hill, when you can."
Ash says, "So we are going to the Ruins of Life...That's great, we can find Tapu Lele so we can ask her about Nebby."
"You're right." Lillie says. "But can we look at the place? I think I am interested in the stones here."
"Sure." Ash says.
After looking for a while, they manage to find some Fossils and even purchase them, after sending them to Aurora, who is now at Route 8, they have become Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga and Archen.
They also purchase some evolution stones to evolve some of their Pokemon. There is the Fire Stone and they use it on Growlithe and Eevee; the Water Stone is for Shellder, Starmie, and Eevee; the Thunder Stone is for Eevee; the Moon Stone is for Jigglypuff; the Sun Stone is for Cottonee and Petilil; the Dusk Stone is for Misdreavus, and they also get a new stone called Ice Stone.
"Snowy, do you want to use this Ice Stone?" Lillie asks as she tries to give the Ice Stone to Snowy, but she just jumps back with fear as she hides behind Pikachu. Ash says, "I guess Snowy doesn't like to evolve just like Pikachu."
"You're right..." Lillie says with a sigh. "But we should go to the Ruins of Life now."
By walking towards Route 9, they reach the Memorial Hills, which turns out to be a graveyard with lots of Ghost Type Pokemon. "Why is there graveyard again?"
"I know what you mean, we found a graveyard in the Hau'oli Cemetery." Ash says, "But we need to go past this place if we want to go to the Ruins of Life."
"Yeah." Lillie says, but just as they walk forward, they see two people and Lillie pales as she quickly hides. Ash asks, "Lillie? What's wrong?"
"That's Faba...he is siding with my evil version of my mother..." Lillie says as Ash knows what she is scared of, so he decides to walk towards them with Lillie continues to stay in the Reverse World.
"Team Skull! Give back that Pokemon!" The member of the Aether Foundation says.
Ash notices that there are two Team Skull Grunts who are holding a Slowpoke, and Ash recognizes that it is Tupp and Zipp, Tupp says, "Don't give me trouble! I'll reduce you to rubble!"
"That's right! We're gonna sell this Pokemon to get rich, and we won't make no bones about it!" Zipp says. "If you want it back, you're gonna have to take it!"
"Stand firm! Think of what the president would say!" Faba says.
"That's what you say, Chief! But you don't lift a finger!" The employee says with annoyance.
"Why, I am the Aether Foundation's last line of defense!" Faba says. "What would become of the foundation if something were to happen to me now?"
Ash can feel Lillie snarling in anger, and Ash decides to step into action. "Ah! Here is a promising young Trainer!" Faba says. "Fight in my stead, child, and rout these Team Skull ruffians. I will bestow honor upon you if you do."
"I am not fighting for you, I am fighting because I don't like Pokemon being stolen." Ash says as Pikachu and Sylveon jump to fight against the Team Skull grunts.
"You ready? Cuz I was born ready, yo!" Tupp says as he sends out Raticate, but Sylveon has the type advantage and she defeats it with Moonblast.
"That loss was pathetic! Your moves were so kinetic!" Tupp says.
"We don't need this Pokemon anyway! Take it then! Good luck and good riddance!" Zipp says as they rush away.
The employee rushes towards the Slowpoke and says, "Phew...Thanks, kid."
Faba turns to Ash and says, "Yes, indeed. You are a trial-goer, aren't you? You're a splendid Trainer. I am deeply impressed! I'd like to reward you by showing you something truly astounding. Once you have finished your grand trial, come to Hano Grand Resort and I will take you to see a wondrous place."
"Okay." Ash says as the employee says, "Thank you for helping us out. I really owe you! I am so glad there are nice young Trainers like you around. Good luck on your island challenge!"
After the two people leave, Lillie comes out of her hiding spot and she says, "Ash, no matter what you do, don't go with Faba, he might be wanting you to go greet my evil mother."
"I know, but if I don't do this, then we won't have a way to stop your evil mother with her plans with Ultra Beasts." Ash says. "I will go with him once we finish the Grand Trial, but trust me, I will be safe."
Lillie is still hesitant, and Ash says, "You know, maybe we should call your mother and see what she will have to say with this."
Lillie nods as they have Rotom dial their mother, who is with Aurora at Route 8's Aether Foundation Lab. Lusamine asks, "Ash? Lillie? Why are you calling me?"
Ash says, "We met a person named Faba, who is from the Aether Foundation, do you know him?"
Lusamine is surprised and she says, "I know him, he is the branch chief. Wicke told me that he is an ambitious man, with my evil self in the President, probably he could do anything he wants. Did he manage to do something to my precious baby?"
"Mom! Stop embarrassing me!" Lillie says with a blush, and Ash says, "No, but he invited me to go to the Aether Foundation. I have decided to go, but I can't have Lillie come with me if we are going there."
Aurora says, "So you want us to bring Lillie to the next island once you finished your Grand Trial, is that what you want us to do?"
"Please mother." Ash says, and both Aurora and Lusamine can only nod as Lusamine says, "After the Grand Festival, meet us in the Dimensional Research Lab."
Lillie nods as they end the call, after that, they all head towards the Akala Outskirts and then the Life of Ruins.
Here is a new chapter, and Ash finally gets to meet Faba. The plot will be the same as Sun and Moon for now, but for the fact that Lillie isn't going to the Aether Foundation with Ash, I decide to have Aurora and Lusamine (Good) accompany her there. I hope you like this chapter.
