Nova's booted heel tapped out a steady beat against the side of the couch as she sat with her legs over the arm of the chair and turned to the last few pages of the book in her lap.

She wasn't sure how long she had been left alone, but it was long enough to almost finish a book. Her shoulders tensed for a split second as she heard the front door slam, before a small pleased smile came across her face. Thank fuck, it was about time he showed up.

Nova sighed when she remembered her promise to Stefan and pulled out her phone and sent off a quick text, 'he's here ;) - Nova' before going back to reading the book in her hands.

She struggled not to cackle like a supervillain when she heard the freaking sound that came out of Damon's mouth. Fuck did she love fucking with Vampires, it was quickly becoming her number one source of entertainment.

"You."

Nova could just about see the sneer marring his pretty features, it almost made her disinterested facade crack, but through some iron will she managed to keep her face bored and eyes on the book.

"Me," she said, mocking him and his utterly cliche greeting.

From the corner of her eye, she saw him slowly move closer towards her until his hands were clutching the leather of the armrests so tight she could hear it squeaking. Fucking Jesus sideways, he was gonna ruin a totally perfect piece of furniture like that.

"Can I help you, Mr. Salvatore?" How she managed to spit out those words without laughing was a mystery even to her.

"I should have known it was one of your little tricks when my day went to hell suspiciously quick." His close proximity was either trying to intimidate her or get her to actually pay attention to him. Either way it was failing miserably.

"Whatever witchy thing it is that you did to me. Undo it."

Nova ignored him for a moment as she tried to speed read the last few sentences, but before she could finish the last one, the book was oh so rudely snatched out of her hands and placed on the side table by her feet.

She folded her arms, a pout on her lips before finally looking up at him, trying to stay infuriatingly calm as she raised a brow at him.

The first thing she noticed was the bloodstains drying underneath his chin, and the second, was that he was still wearing those pitch black sunglasses. Hmm well, that wasn't suspicious whatsoever.

"Mm… I don't know," she said. "I take theft very seriously, Spike." She tried not to snort out in laughter as she thought about all the stolen money in her purse right now. She should start a con, stealing from Vampires.

Before he could reply, she crooked her fingers and used her telekinesis to accio his sunglasses into her hands. She plopped them onto her face with a cheeky smile, and she was sure they looked better on her anyway - and let them slide down her nose a bit so she could look him in the eyes.

Eyes that were seriously bloodshot and glaring at her, although it looked more like squinting than an actual glare in her opinion.

"Holy shit, did I do that?" Nova slid the sunglasses up, wearing them like a bandana so she could get a better look at his seriously fucked up eyes.

"No," was all he said, his expression somehow souring even more as he clenched his jaw.

That probably explained why she had seen him wearing the sunglasses at the tree lighting, at fucking night, but what or rather who else could it have been…

"What happened then - wait, no lemme guess. You and Stefan have another one of your dick measuring contests? Did he win?" Nova continued to guess, a shit eating grin lighting up her face once again.

"No, it wasn't Stefan." Damon denied with a scoff, as though just the thought of his little brother beating him up was ridiculous.

She suddenly had a light bulb moment - his Bono look had come not long after his clandestine meeting with Pearl and Annabelle. Pearl wanted him on her side, probably due to his connections he had already made in town. And if she knew Damon as well as she thought she did, he would have said or done something stupid or cocky or stupidly cocky, against a Vampire probably centuries older than him.

Nova thought about keeping her little revelation a secret, just in case he decided to warn the Zhu's that she was aware they were still in town, but ultimately decided it wasn't worth keeping a secret.

"It was Pearl, wasn't it," she said more than asked.

He didn't say anything in response, which was a confession in itself.

"It must have been irritating for you. I mean, you probably wanted to use her to get to Katherine, right? But instead, she's using you." Nova would laugh at his plans going to shit if she wasn't worried about the mother-daughter duo.

"You're point, Bennett? What do you want?"

"Other than getting what you took from me back, Salvatore?"

This time it was his turn to smirk, and well, she would let him have that win at least. Though the fucking gloating look on his face was a bit much, she thought, ignoring the fact that if she were in his shoes, she would have about the same look on her face.

"I want everything." She watched, incredibly happy by the irritated look on his face appeared. "Starting with the Zhu's out of town," she added, because there were sadly more pressing matters to attend to other than her long list of ambitions.

"Good luck with that," he replied, being incredibly rude by underestimating her genius.

Nova watched him as he finally stepped out from her personal space, and like a predictable bastard, reached for a crystal decanter. But when he drank the amber colored liquor it was quickly spat out, his face twisted as though he had tasted something putrid.

His eyes moved back over towards her, the look in his eyes accusing, as though it was her fault - which, it probably was. He didn't make any threats, surprisingly, but she supposed to some the glare would be enough.

She only grinned at the look thrown her way, standing up out of the armchair only to sit back down again, this time on the couch in front of the table he stood in front of as she began part of the plan.

Well, one of the plans at least.

The next plan had less words and more propriety damage, and bodily harm. That was the more fun plan in her opinion, but her stupid morals and self control kept that as a backup plan.

"I know you must hate being under anyone's thumb, so what would you do if I told you I already have a plan to get them out of town?" Nova said, a little impish grin on her face as she placed her chin on the back of the couch.

"It depends. Just how good this plan of yours is," he replied, making an imperious motion with his hand for her to continue.

How sweet, she thought, rolling her eyes so hard she thought they were gonna fall out of her head.

"The details are unimportant, my family and I are handling it. What I need you to do is to stay out of our way if things get.. ugly." She made sure to turn her puppy dog eyes up to about a hundred, watching him mull over the information.

Grams and the twins could find and get the Zhu's out of town without too much problem - but, dealing with two very old Vampires plus the unpredictable lovesick asshole that Damon was?

Yeah, she wasn't gonna put her family at risk like that.

So here she was, bargaining again.

Hm, fuck at this point maybe she should just make business cards.

"Wait, If I didn't do that." Her mouth interrupted both of their thoughts, and she motioned in the vague direction of his bloodshot eyes, "What did I do?"

"Are you telling me you used a spell that you didn't even know what was gonna do to me?" He asked, a bitchy look on his face to match his tone.

"I mean… I knew it wasn't gonna kill you, and it's not gonna last for more than a day. I'm not a complete bitch." Even though she could still feel that uncomfortable feeling in her chest from the hex still being in place, she refused to feel guilty about it.

Maybe later, when she was done being pissed at him. Though she was sure he would find a way to piss her off again next week.

Damon rolled his eyes before he seemed to deem this conversation a waste of time as he left the room without a backwards glance. "I want the spell gone before the end of the day, witch."

Nova ignored the warning in his voice and quickly stood up and had to stop herself from tripping on her high heeled boots, laughter coming out of her mouth as she persistently followed him.

"Wait! Come on, give me something at least a hint? Did a pigeon shit on your car? Did you lose your rock hard vampire muscles?" She gasped dramatically, holding her hand to her heart like just the idea hurt her.

That would be a tragedy.

Funny as fuck, but still tragic.

Damon was determined to ignore her and her taunting laughter as she followed him into the basement - what? she had to entertain herself someway until Stefan arrived -, where he immediately sought out the refrigerator, reaching in and grabbing a blood bag.

As soon as he closed the lid, she pulled herself on the top of the deep yet short refrigerator and tilted her head as she watched him drink from it but... something felt off by the picture, she just couldn't put her finger on it…

Nova flinched back a bit when the bag burst and some of the blood hit her skin and - Well, maybe she shouldn't have followed so closely next to a person hexed to have bad luck. But still, she couldn't help but giggle, even as she wiped the blood from underneath her chin.

Before she could check over her clothes for bloodstains, a hand grabbing hers interrupted her search. She looked up at him, her laughter gone but her shit eating grin still in place as she raised a brow at him and his scowl.

"You're lucky I like you so much, Willow," Damon said, seemingly utterly resigned by her in general as he tossed away the burst bag with an irritated huff.

"Funny, I was about to say the same thing, Spike," she said, just barely resisting the urge to patronizingly pat his cheek.

Before he could say anything, there was a rush of cold air that entered the basement and suddenly Damon's hand was no longer holding hers.

Nova blinked for a moment, rubbing her eyes just for the drama of it before she finally turned to the commotion on her left. She could only roll her eyes when she saw what would probably be a recurring sight for her in her life; the Salvatore brothers fighting.

She winced sympathetically when Damon quickly turned the tables on Stefan and punched him right in that gorgeous jaw of his. "Not the face," she quietly whined, even though she knew it would heal in moments.

Now, see. She knew it was a fight started by a complete misunderstanding. What Stefan had walked on looked really bad, if put in perspective.

There was blood smeared on her neck and chin, and despite the reluctant affection in their words, they had probably looked like they were five seconds away from killing each other - but, should she really stop this?

It was kinda funny.

Besides, she thought as she settled back onto the wall behind the freezer to enjoy the show, she wouldn't let it get too far. Just long enough for Stefan to get some good punches in.

Nova clapped excitedly when Stefan finally managed to get out of Damon's grip on his neck and shove him until his older brother was sliding roughly on the floor, her boot practically hovering over him.

She just barely resisted poking his cheek with her boot.

God, she wished she had her cellphone to record this, and some popcorn.

Hmm.. she was kinda hungry.

"Nova? Stefan?!"

Ah, well there went her entertainment for the night, she thought, sighing.

Before the very human doppelganger could come down into the basement, she hopped down from the refrigerator, her Magic warm and steady as she made a swift shoving motion with her hands.

Nova watched impassively as the brothers were forcibly separated from each other by the invisible force of her telekinesis, their backs hitting the basement walls. Like hell was she gonna let her friend get caught in the crossfire of their attempts to snap the other's neck.

She felt a headache forming as she struggled a bit to keep a hold on both of their struggling forms, but she held them just long enough for their attention to move away from each other and towards her as she physically stepped between them.

Their protests went in one ear and out the other as she thought about what she wanted to eat for lunch, maybe pizza? Or burgers? Fuck, maybe both? It wasn't like she was gonna pay for it, that was all courtesy of Damon - or at least the money she stole from him.

Speaking of...

Nova fully enjoyed the pissed off look on the assholes face as she came closer to him. Enjoying it even more when she reached over to yank a strand of hair from his head.

"Stop being such a fucking baby," she muttered when he gave her such an enraged and insulted look.

She focused on the strand of hair and burning it with a simple focused gaze, her hand held to her chest when the feeling that had buried itself inside of her chest lessened until it disappeared all together, making a sigh fall from both her and her victim's mouth.

Definitely pizza and burgers for lunch, she thought as she felt a migraine take its place.

"I can handle myself perfectly fine. But thanks for the show, Angel." Nova thanked the younger Salvatore, smiling and blinking her eyelashes up at him in spite of the glares that were still aimed at her from both sides.

"Is everything okay? What is going on?" Elena asked, breathless from running as she eyed the three of them from the steps, her body so tense one would think she thought a bomb was about to go off.

Nova turned away from them letting her telekinesis hold on them slowly go as sent a sunny smile towards her best friend. A bold risk to do with two butt hurt Vampires behind her, but what was life without some risque moves?

"Yeah, everything's good." Nova grabbed her friend by the hand as she climbed up the stairs and thankfully, after a moment of hesitation, her friend followed her upstairs.

And like the in love puppy he was, Stefan followed after them. It took a short moment for the older brother to do the same, but eventually he did, a new blood bag in hand.

"What was that down there? Are you guys okay? I - wait is that blood?" Elena asked, her horrified gaze glued to a spot on her cheek.

Nova's hand went automatically to the spot, her hand coming away wet and yup, that was blood, it was even around her wrist.

"Oh, no, don't worry it's not my blood." Nova could only shrug when she got an even more questioning look in reply. But her attention was no longer on her worried best friend, but on the asshole she wasn't quite finished with yet that was trying to make a surprisingly quiet exit.

"So do we have a deal then?" she asked before he could vanish, and become impossible to find again.

Damon stopped before he left the kitchen, his head tilted in that way that meant he was contemplating something before eventually -

"You've got yourself a deal."

Stefan, for some reason, was driving Elena's car to drive her back to Caroline's house, and the car ride was filled with Stelena stares and Nova alternating between being disgusted at the sight of the cute couple and daydreaming about pizza. And burgers.

Sadly it wasn't long before her daydreaming was interrupted by Elena looking back at her and clearing her throat.

"There's something we have to tell you," she said, hesitating on her words.

Nova perked up from her seat, her seat belt digging into her boob as she leaned forward until her elbow rested on Elena's seat. "Oh fuck, did he knock you up? Are you gonna have a little Renesmee?" She of course had to turn the serious moment into a joke because, of course she did.

"Vampire, real ones, can't reproduce." Stefan decided to pipe in, as though he wasn't speaking with a Witch who didn't know almost everything about Vampires. He, probably, didn't know that, so she let him off the hook for the vaguely mansplaining reply.

Elena sighed deeply before she could reply to him, looking at her with a deeply exasperated look, "No, I'm not pregnant, Nova, I'm. There was a vampire outside my house last night, watching me."

What the fuck?

Didn't this shit happen already?

Would Vampires ever give her a fucking break and get over stalking Elena?

"Do we know who it was," she asked, sitting back and looking at them seriously instead of saying all of that outloud, it was probably insensitive or something.

Elena shook her head, anxiety written all across her face,"I thought it was the same person who was on the road that night when Anna and her friends took me, but they left town so.."

The silence, the way she played with her hair, bit her lip and looked away with a grimace, gave her away to Elena immediately.

"They are out of town, right?" Elena said, her tone practically pleading.

"That's uh, what I wanted to talk to you about, Elena, they're still in town," Stefan said, as he parallel parked perfectly - the fucking show off.

She supposed she could have tried to hide her reaction better, hid it under dark humor and lied and lied very well, but her best friend was being stalked. Elena deserved to know her would be murderers were still in town.

"I'm handling it," was all she said in reply, looking away from those killer puppy dog eyes her best friend had.

"But," Elena started to protest, probably at not being included and being in the dark, or maybe it was at Nova wanting to do this seemingly alone, or all of above.

Shit luck for her, she had already unbuckled her seatbelt, grabbed her bag and was in the process of quickly leaving the car before much else could be said. She paused before her boots hit the pavement, looking back up at her protesting friend.

"Sorry, it's Bennett business, Lena. They broke a promise to us, they have to deal with us."

With a few halfhearted promises to keep them updated, and assurances to call if things went to shit, she left the car.

Nova rubbed at her temples as they left her in front of Caroline's house, because, well, she knew Elena Gilbert and, though she wasn't too close to him, she knew Stefan Salvatore, and it had been a little too easy to convince those two busybodies to let it go and let her handle it.

Fuck her sideways, why did she have to choose to be honest now of all times?

Once she was inside the warm house of the Forbes, she decided to shut her brain off for a moment and watch a movie with her best friend before her dad came to pick her up.

Nova pulled out the wad of cash she had acquired by totally legal means, smiling deviously at the blonde as she gaped at money, before immediately snatching it from her and counting it.

"So... Pizza and burgers?"

"And are we sure this is a good idea?"

It was the next morning, and well, Bonnie was starting to question the plan they had worked their ass off to complete and well, that was completely fucking reasonable of her.

This time though, Grams was with them to help them with their half baked plans and the elder Witch had a calming effect on them and was quick to reassure her twin.

"Remember baby, if we stick together there's not much an army of vampires can do to us, let alone two," Grams said, as though she hadn't wanted to go alone and have them to wait in the car two seconds ago.

But the twins decided to focused on the confident and reassuring look in their grandmother's brown eyes.

She reached over and gently squeezed her sister's hand, and with those encouraging words being repeated in their minds, the twins followed a step behind their grandmother as she walked up the steps of the secluded house, politely ringing the doorbell.

Merlin, who had been so kind to show them the way and already rewarded with plenty of treats, rubbed his head against her ankles before wandering off to fuck knows where.

She knew that other than channeling, he probably wouldn't be much help in a fight, but still she pouted as he left before her eyes were drawn to the door creaking open.

Neither Anna nor Pearl answered the door, but a middle-aged white woman with an empty look in her eyes that screamed of either intoxication or, more likely, compulsion. "Oh, Hello, how can I help you?"

Grams paused for a moment before carrying on with The Plan regardless of the little bump in the road via a compelled human.

"Tell your unwelcome guests we would like a word with them."

"Pardon me, what on earth are you talking -" The brunette seemed seconds away from slamming the door in their face. But before she could, floorboards creaking behind her could be heard before Anna graced them with her presence.

"It's alright, Maurice. Let them in." Anna seemed weary by the sight of them but still let them inside.

Nova quietly shared a look with her sister before they both silently followed their grandmother inside the home.

"Please, make yourselves comfortable." Anna gestured towards the floral couch, seeming both irritated and nervous about their presence.

"I'm sure you can guess as to why we are here," Grams said, a stubborn look in her eyes as she stayed tense and standing.

Bonnie stood next to their grandmother, looking not scared in the slightest but very uncomfortable as her eyes darted around as though looking for a trap.

Nova, on the other hand, made herself comfortable on the couch, plopping her feet up on the coffee table and happily accepting the tea and cookies Maurice gave her.

"Thank you," she thanked the compelled human before she bit into the sugar cookie, because she wasn't a total heathen. "One of your little minions is stalking my friend, did you know that?"

Anna froze at the question, her eyes quickly narrowing on her as Nova continued to stuff cookies in her mouth. She should have brought her purse, so she could steal some with her. Purses were the best place to store food theft.

"It's just me and my mother here," Anna said, her hackles raised even more simply at the sound of Nova's voice.

"Don't forget, Maurice," Nova replied, with a teeth-baring smile that hid her frustration. Call it intuition, or a guessing game, but she felt it in her Soul that Anna knew something about Elena's stalker.

"And why should we believe a word you say?" Bonnie asked, seemingly having the same intuitive feeling as she stared heatedly at the Vampire.

"You will have to forgive us, if we decide not to believe a word out of your mouth, after you decided to ignore our agreement, vampire," Grams said, her countenance calm in contrast to Nova's (passive)aggressiveness and Bonnie's anger.

But it was easy for anyone in the room to see that Grams was one wrong word away from losing that calm.

Anna let out of deep sigh she didn't need, looking at them all with an almost apologetic look in her dark brown eyes, "Look I'm sorry about not keeping up my end of our agreement, but -"

Everyone's eyes were drawn to the front door as it opened and a figure walked through, "She made this little arrangement," Pearl said in greeting, her features beautiful but cold as she glanced around the room.

"I did not partake in it, and seeing as it concerned my livelihood, I see no reason as to why the terms of it are substantial."

Nova already wanted to rub her eyes and curse at the words that came out of Pearl's mouth, but the sight of Damon coming inside on Pearl's heels like a good little minion made her swallow down a frustrated scream.

"Mom," Anna said in greeting, looking at the Witches in the room even more warily as her mother, the person she had fought like hell to get back, came inside, making this conversation even more confrontational.

Nova avoided eye-contact with the asshole in fear of acting out and doing something like, oh, clawing his eyes out. What the fuck happened to staying out of her way? Why the fuck did she stupidly decide to trust him enough to take his word for it?

'What the hell?' Bonnie mouthed to her, giving her a questioning look as soon as she caught sight of the Salvatore, previously having thought she had that situation covered.

Nova could only press her lips together, anger no longer hidden by a smile and now clear as day on her face as she bit into another cookie. She continued to ignore his presence, even when he further agitated her by joining her on the couch and stole one of her cookies.

"Even so, you must think us foolish witches if you believe that we would let you continue to bleed our home dry," Grams said, her tone dry.

"Ooo, catfight," Damon mock-whispered in her ear, the entire room hearing his thoroughly unhelpful comment.

"On the contrary, I admire and respect the Bennett's," Pearl said, slight affection in her voice and a far away look in her eyes, as though she was reminiscing on something. "I always have and will continue to do so. But this is my home just as much as it is yours, and I will not leave it because of an arrangement made under duress by my daughter."

The words duress did not fit Anna or her ruthless plans whatsoever, so much so that it made her laugh, making the attention of the entire room fall on her. She secretly reveled in the attention whilst also wanting to go back the fuck to bed and never have anyone look at her again.

"The deal was you not dying like the rest of your mummified roomies, and you both getting the fuck out of town. Whether you were aware of it or not, you decided to ignore it all together, and us - and so here we are." Nova spoke up, picking up her cup of tea and drinking it whilst daydreaming of pouring it on Damon's lap instead.

Pearl, whose eyes had only briefly run across her before dismissing her, now looked at her as though she had gained x-ray eyes. It made her want to shift in her chair like a chastised kindergartner. She seemed to have some sort of a lightbulb moment when she finally did take her in, their eyes meeting for what felt like forever but was only a short moment.

"Nova Bennett, I presume."

Nova's boots hit the floor with a thud as she stood up, walking until she was shoulder to shoulder with her sister. She only smiled at the beautiful yet stubborn headache of an older woman. Barely resisting saying something sarcastic, which was honestly an amazing feat for her - she should be fucking rewarded for all of her self control.

"My daughter had a lot to say about you," Pearl continued when she said nothing in reply.

All good things she was sure, she thought but didn't say, shooting the immortal teen a smile with faux humbleness.

"Uh oh, I think she's getting bored of you avoiding the issue, Pearl," Damon said when she remained quiet, helpful as ever as he made himself incredibly busy by drinking the rest of her tea.

What the fuck, she thought, glaring at him, she was gonna finish that. He only shot her a wink in reply to her look, and she could feel her eye twitching.

"I think we all are," Bonnie said, a thoroughly fed up look on her face that her twin could relate to.

"We - they wanted to come here, to give you and your daughter a second chance," Grams said, making it very clear that she thought they didn't deserve a second chance.

"How charitable of them," Pearl replied, an enigmatic smile on her face.

"Or, things can get real fucking ugly fast, if you'd prefer that," Nova found herself speaking before she realized it.

Pearl, it turns out, did not take well to threats, no matter how idle and vague. Which, go fucking figure Bennett. Rest in reese's fucking pieces, she guessed, not shocked in the slightest that her mouth had fucked things like civility over.

Nova swore she had only blinked once and found her nose suddenly smushed into leather, but she wasn't y'know, fucking dead.

She took a small stumble back and found herself staring at the back of Damon's leather jacket. She breathed in and out, before peeking out from his shoulder, and well, that had been close. The older Vampire was inches away from them, cool demonic features and all.

And only being held away from her by Damon with a very pointy stick? a stake! - whatever, same difference - aimed at her heart, just inches away from piercing the older Vampire's skin.

Nova had almost been attacked, killed? She was unsure of Pearl's plan, but all of that had happened and her Vampire friend was being an actual good fucking friend - and all she could think was that she was both scared and horny.

She really did have the emotional maturity of a fucking teaspoon.

"I thought you had learned by now, Damon. You don't stand a chance against me." Pearl said, suddenly holding him by the throat as Anna came to stand beside her to aid her.

"Maybe not. But she does." Damon said, sounding annoyingly cocky of his chances of survival.

The Bennett's acted quickly as their human bodies would allow them, before any of the Vampires could retaliate against them, or each other.

Bonnie focused on the mother-daughter duo, a look of resolve on her face as she quickly sent both Vampires down to their knees with pained expressions on their face.

Grams lit a smudge, her spell to quickly spread the smoke around the room barely heard over the screams of the forgotten human that hadn't been compelled nearly enough apparently.

Nova turned the fucking idiot who had just saved her life around and quickly shoved a nearby napkin over his nose and mouth.

"Might wanna leave, Spike," she replied to the utterly confused look on his face.

Damon, thankfully wasn't heroic or stupid enough to stick around when the vervain in the smudge started to make his skin itch and burn and quickly left with one last look towards her.

Ugh, seven fucking hells, he was gonna be hell to be around now, whether she thanked him or not.

She sighed and, ignoring the still screaming human - fuck did she have some lungs on her, she was gonna need an aspirin and to wank off to porn after this - she leaned down, coming as close to the venomously glaring Pearl as she dared.

"To be fair, on myself, we tried being nice," she said, and she paused for a long moment.

Nova wanted to test a theory - a half-baked plan she had come up last night - before boldly, stupidly, getting closer and whispering in the other woman's ear. She couldn't help but feel really fucking guilty when she pulled back and saw the look of pure dread and fear on Pearl's face. She hid her guilt well under a false cavalier.

"Fine, we'll leave," Pearl said, her jaw clenched as she stubbornly swallowing her coughs and tried to remain her elegant composure.

"Mom no," Anna protested.

"And never terrorize the people of Mystic Falls again," Grams said, her tone leaving no room for arguments.

Pearl looked at the reincarnated Soul once again, and whatever she saw on her face made her quickly agree.

Okay so maybe that had been a little of an overkill?
