"...What are you going to do next?", asked Blue Maiden at both giants calmly.

Both Don Thousand and Darkness remained flabbergasted. They had no reason to fear they girl; They were both gods!
And yet her eyes remained resolute.
"I... I now activate the Spell Card, Numeronius' Blessing", stated the black alien. "Since I control a Numeronius monster, I get to draw three cards."

"I then set a card and end my turn...", Don Thousand finished.

"They... they could have attacked her with Diabolos, right?", whispered Jim at Chazz.
"Maybe, but I'm not sure if that would have worked", the black-jacket duelist responded. "She still had Crown Tail's effect protecting her. Or maybe they were too scared of her to forget about the attack."
The Australian just shrugged at the pro duelist's words, at least glad that Aoi got another turn.
"Then... it's my turn", stated Blue Maiden. "I draw."
Turn 7, Blue Maiden's Turn, 3 Cards in hand, 300 LP
"I activate the Spell Card, Monster Reborn", began the blue-haired avatar. "I get to revive a monster of my choice from any player's graveyards. I choose to revive my Marincess Great Bubble Reef!"
The avatar's Link-4 monster then appeared on the field again, holding her staff on her right side.

"And then I activate her other effect!", continued the blue-haired maiden. "In exchange of discarding a WATER monster, I get to special summon a banished Marincess monster!"
"Wait a moment...", trailed off the black alien. "You mean to bring back...?"
"Yes, the very monster your Sunya first banished", Blue Maiden responded. "Appear once again, Marincess Marbled Rock!"

Blue Maiden's hand size: 1 card
"You ace monster again...", trailed off Darkness.
"And now I activate Marbled Rock's effect!", the marine girl continued. "Once per turn, I get to recover a Marincess card from my graveyard back to my hand!"
"And the card I add back...", trailed off the girl before showing the trap card to her opponents. Both giants widened their eyes as they saw what it was. "Is the Trap card, Marincess Current!"
"That card again...", mused the dark apparition. He knew all too well what was about to happen.
"And now...", trailed off Blue Maiden, arms crossing each other in a posing manner. She then outstretched them wide apart as she shouted, "I set both Link 4 Marincess Great Bubble Reef and Link 3 Marincess Marbled Rock on the Link markers!"
"What!?", asked both giants. Revolver momentarily widened his eyes at her words. What's coming next?
Both aforementioned monsters were then set in the Left, Right, and Down arrows in the Link Portal. "Appear from the circuit of dreams and hope, Link 4 Marincess Wonder Heart!"
Another Marincess monster came out, this one having a light-blue dress and celestial, matching blue hair. She also carried a turquoise-colored sword in her right hand, pointed directly at Numeronius.

"And now Battle Ocean activates its effect again", stated Blue Maiden. "I get to equip Wonder Heart with up to three Marincess Link monsters from my graveyard. I choose Marincess Great Bubble Reef, Marbled Rock, and Coral Anemone."
The Field Spell began glowing as its effect activates, powering up Wonder Heart with new power.
Marincess Wonder Heart's ATK: 2600- 4400
It's not as powerful as Bubble Reef, but she may be able to do something with her new monster, mused Revolver.
"Battle!", shouted Blue Maiden, her hair floating gracefully. "Marincess Wonder Heart attacks Darkest Diabolos!"
The Link monster jumped high into the air, before stopping midair in front of Diabolos. The Marincess monster then aimed its sword at the beast's chest, plunging the weapon straight through its body. A huge explosion then spread throughout the field.
"And, since it was your turn last turn, the battle damage is dealt to you!", pointed the marine girl at Don Thousand, the Link monster lunging out of the smoke cloud and straight towards him.
"But it is now that I activate the Trap card, Numeronius Protection!", revealed the black alien his face-down. "Since I control a Numeronius monster face-up on the field, I don't take any battle damage this turn!"
"What?", asked Blue Maiden.
Wonder Heart slashed the dark dragon in half, creating a small explosion on the field.
"Hhrghh...", groaned Don Thousand as the smoke covered him. Thankfully he didn't receive any damage.
"And now I activate Marincess Current again!", added the blue-haired avatar as she activated her Trap card. "Since a Marincess monster I control destroyed a monster by battle, you take damage equal to my Link monster's rating times 400!"
"1600 damage", immediately calculated Darkness.
Don Thousand's LP: 1600
"Now take this!", Blue Maiden shouted as a water burst flew towards the black alien.
"But it is now that I activate the effect of another Numeron Frontier from my hand!", Don Thousand countered as he revealed the Numeron monster in his hand. "I can discard this card to negate the effect damage, and let us all draw a card!"
"Tch", Blue Maiden clicked her tongue.
"Now I draw!", Don Thousand shouted as he drew a card.

"I draw a card", Darkness drew a card from his Deck.
Darkness' hand size: 2 cards
Blue Maiden silently drew a card from her Deck.
Blue Maiden's hand size: 2 cards
"I then set a card and end my turn", the blue-haired avatar finished as she set a face-down card.
Blue Maiden's hand size: 1 card
"Very well then", Darkness spoke up, a dark card materializing in his hand. "My turn; I draw a card."
Turn 8, Darkness' Turn, 3 Cards in hand, 300 LP
"I set two cards", began Darkness before stating, "Battle. Don Thousand's Numeronius attacks your Wonder Heart."
The giant monster once again sent a giant light blast towards the Link monster, Blue Maiden now speaking up, "Wonder Heart's effect activates! I get to special summon a monster that's equipped to it! I choose to revive Great Bubble Reef!"
Now behind Wonder Heart appeared Great Bubble Reef, once again carrying a giant staff.
"And since I activated this effect, neither me nor Wonder Heart take any damage!", finished the marine avatar.
"What?", asked Don Thousand.
The giant Numeron monster's attack was intercepted by an invisible barrier shielding Wonder Heart, although the white light was quick to enshroud the blue-haired girl once again. Thankfully, the light vanished away just as quickly, the girl's view returning to normal.
As for why she wasn't blasted off to the air like last time, she could see Yubel was shielding her, preventing the girl from being damaged any further.
"I'm not going to let you be harmed this time", stated the demonic spirit from behind the girl, Blue Maiden nodding at her words.
"You still manage to annoy me to no end", stated Don Thousand at the girl in front of him. "You shouldn't even be here at this point". She didn't say anything at all.
The black alien then turned to Darkness and added, "Darkness, use Numeronius' other effect."
"It has another effect?", asked the dark apparition, turning to see his partner.
Don Thousand nodded, "Yes, it can destroy all monsters our opponent controls and revive a monster from their graveyard in defense position."
"What!?", asked Chazz incredulously. Blue Maiden raised an eyebrow at the effect.
"What?", asked Darkness. "Why didn't you use this effect last turn?"
"I missed the timing activation", answered Don Thousand. "I was... distracted for a moment and forgot to activate it."
There was no way he was going to admit that he was intimidated at Blue Maiden.
"I see...", stated the dark apparition before speaking up with a raised arm, "Very well; I activate Numeronius' other ability! Upon ending the Battle Phase, I get to destroy all monsters my opponent controls!"
"This is bad", Axel stated. "She's going to have an empty field next turn..."
"Not a chance I'll let that happen", spoke up Blue Maiden calmly. "I activate Marincess Basilalima's special ability from my graveyard! I get to banish her to prevent card effect destruction!"
"Tch!", clicked his tongue Don Thousand.
"But the second effect still takes place", responded Darkness. "I choose to revive your Steam Healer."
The WATER-type hero was revived in defense position next to Numeronius.
Elemental HERO Steam Healer, Level 6, 1800 ATK, 1000 DEF
"I end my turn", finished Darkness.
The blue-haired girl nodded silently before she began, "My turn; I draw."
Turn 9, Blue Maiden's Turn, 2 Cards in hand, 300 LP
This is card is perfect to be sent to the graveyard, Blue Maiden mused before speaking up, "I activate a trap of my own, Raigeki Break. I get to discard a card to destroy another card on the field. I discard Elemental HERO Shadow Mist to the graveyard."
"Hoh?", asked Don Thousand amusingly.
"And the card I choose to destroy", began Blue Maiden before pointing at the giant monster. "Is your Numeronius!"
The trap card generated a lightning blast at the giant monster, effectively blowing it up.
And now the giants' field was left empty.
"Now that's a play!", celebrated Chazz with a raised fist. Jim howled in euphoria.
But Don Thousand's face was still jocund. There was a reason for him still smirking.
"...You were prepared for this, weren't you?", asked Darkness at his partner.
What?, asked Aqua Dolphin incredulously.
"Indeed", answered Don Thousand, the marine avatar narrowing her eyes. The black alien then spoke up, "Numeronius activates one more effect; Upon it's destruction, I get to special summon its evolved form directly from my Extra Deck!"
"It has an evolved form??", asked Axel, both Chazz and Jim stopping their celebration. Revolver's expression darkened in seriousness.
"My heaven is vast, my earth is ancient; The dreams that men cling to are but a mere illusion", chanted Don Thousand with his hand raised up, Numeronius emerging from a purple portal on the ground. "O almighty god of void and nothingness, armed with the oppressive darkness, swing down your iron hammer upon the light and eviscerate it!"
Take care, Blue Maiden; It's coming!, warned Infernal Devicer from the girl's consciousness. Yubel nodded in agreement.
"CHAOS XYZ CHANGE! EXTERMINATION!", shouted the black alien, Numeronius transforming into a ray of light that went into another overhead black vortex. From it descended yet another creature, one of great size.
"Rise from the great beyond and descend by my side, Chaos Imaginary Number 1000: Numeronius Numeronia!", finished Don Thousand with glee.
Number iC1000: Numeronius Numeronia, Rank 13, ? ATK, ? DEF
"That thing is huge...", trailed off Chazz horrified.
Revolver once more widened his eyes; A rank 13 monster??
"And, one of Numeronius Numeronia's abilities begin", pointed Don Thousand at the behemoth above him. "During my opponent's turn, it gains both 100,000 ATK and DEF!"
"WHAT!?@", asked the ex-Duel Academy students in bewilderment.
Numeronius Numeronia's new ATK stats: 0 - 100,000
Blue Maiden herself didn't respond too visually at the new ATK stats, but she could note her breathing was altered significantly.
"Relax, this monster can't attack you", Don Thousand explained with a smirk. "But, if a turn has passed in which my opponent hasn't declared an attack against Numeronius Numeronia, then my opponent loses the duel at the end of their turn."
Oh dearest me!, panicked Aqua Dolphin.
"T-that means I have to declare an attack against it", noted Blue Maiden, focusing her eyes on the gigantic monster. This didn't look good at all.
"Either way, she's going to lose the duel", stated Darkness at his partner with crossed arms. "I'm glad that at least we've gone to a point in which our victory is assured."
Don Thousand nodded silently in agreement.
Blue Maiden, meanwhile, had to take a small moment to fully calm herself down. At least she was reacting better this time.
Despite the impossibility, she still had to find a way to win.
"Battle", stated the blue-haired girl. "Wonder Heart attacks your Numeronius Numeronia!"
"What is she doing??", asked Chazz, close to tearing his hair.
Her Marincess monster sprang up and flew towards the giant monster, aiming to direct an attack against it.
"If that's how you want to lose, then so be it!", stated Don Thousand. "Numeronia, counterattack!"
The giant monster generated a giant violet laser towards the marine monster.
"Wonder Heart's effect activates!", stated Blue Maiden. "When it battles, I get to special summon an equipped Marincess Monster, and if I do, neither me nor Wonder Heart take any damage!"
"What?", asked Don Thousand.
"I un-equip Great Bubble Reef from Wonder Heart!", stated the blue-haired girl, surviving for another turn.
The violet laser didn't affect Wonder Heart at all, the Link monster colliding its sword against Numeronia. But, the Rank 13 Xyz monster wasn't affected either, leaving the battle in a stalemate.
"So you managed to circumvent Numeronia's effect", noted Don Thousand annoyingly. Great Bubble Reef returned to being equipped to Wonder Heart.
"I now end my turn", finished Blue Maiden.

"To think you have an effect that perfectly counters Numeronia...", stated the black alien. "My turn, draw!"
Turn 10, Don Thousand's Turn, 4 Cards in hand, 1300 LP
"During my turn, Numeronius Numeronia's ATK and DEF regress to 0", calmly stated Don Thousand, Numeroniabeing absorbed of all its power.
Numeronius Numeronia's ATK stats: 100,000 - 0
"Oh thank god", said Jim relieved.
"I set a card and end my turn", finished Don Thousand.

"Very well, I draw", began Blue Maiden.
Turn 11, Blue Maiden's Turn, 3 Cards in hand, 300 LP
"During my opponent's turn, Numeronia's ATK and DEF goes back to normal", spoke up the black alien.
Numeronius Numeronia's ATK stats: 0 - 100,000
"And I'm forced to attack it again", Blue Maiden noted to herself before speaking up, "Wonder Heart attacks your Numeronia!"
"Strike back, Numeronia!", Don Thousand reciprocated.
"And now Wonder Heart activates her effect!", spoke up the blue-haired girl. "I special summon back Great Bubble Reef, and protecting both myself and Wonder Heart from taking any damage!"
"And she survives again", stated Darkness.
Both monsters battled once more, neither of them leaving the field.
"I equip Great Bubble Reef back into Wonder Heart!", stated Blue Maiden, "I also set a monster and end my turn!"
Blue Maiden's hand size: 2 cards
"Darkness, I can't defeat her by myself", Don Thousand spoke to his partner. "I don't have anything else that's powerful in my Deck. But maybe you do."
"I'll see what I can do", stated Darkness before speaking up, "I now draw a card."
Turn 12, Darkness' Turn, 4 Cards in hand, 300 LP
Numeronius Numeronia's ATK stats: 100,000 - 0
"I activate one of my face-down cards, Fiend's Sanctuary", began Darkness, revealing one of his face-down cards in the field. "This allows me to special summon a Metal Fiend Token to the field."
Metal Field Token, Level 1, 0 ATK, 0 DEF
"Oh, thank god it's just a Token", said Chazz. Blue Maiden wasn't too relieved at the dark apparition's Token.
"...It's not going to stay on the field for long, as I also plan on tributing it", finished the dark apparition.
The pro duelist face-slapped himself.
"So now I tribute my Metal Fiend Token", began Darkness as dark flames appeared, leaving way to a new monster. "To bring out Caius the Shadow Monarch; appear!"
Out into the field stepped out a demonic emperor from a dark, violet portal.
Caius the Shadow Monarch, Level 6, 2400 ATK, 1000 DEF
"I now activate Caius' effect", spoke up the dark apparition. "Since this card was tribute summoned, I get to banish 1 card my opponent controls."
"Tch", clicked Blue Maiden her tongue.
"I choose to banish your Wonder Heart", pointed Darkness at the Marincess monster.
"But Marincess Battle Ocean is still on the field", explained Blue Maiden. "As long as that's out on the field, my Marincess monsters are unaffected by-"
"I also chain Caius with Mystical Space Typhoon", responded Darkness. "Which I'll use to destroy your Field Spell."
Blue Maiden was momentarily surprised, Caius creating a dark blast between his palms before throwing it at Wonder Heart, making the Link monster vanish from the field.
The marine avatar then reverted back to her determined expression; Despite Battle Ocean not being around anymore, she still had a chance to win.
"Also, since I tributed a monster, I get to activate Diabolos' special ability from my graveyard", added the dark apparition. "I get to revive my dragon to the field!"
Darkness Diabolos, Lord of the Lair, Level 8, 3000 ATK, 2000 DEF
"Now all that the girl has on her field is a face-down monster", spoke up Don Thousand, before turning to Darkness. "I'm assuming you know what you should do."
The dark apparition nodded before stating, "Battle; Caius attacks your face-down card!"
The demonic emperor launched another dark blast at the face-down, albeit one that was weaker than before. The face-down card was flipped face up to reveal a rather unexpected monster.
"Winged Kuriboh?", asked the dark apparition. Yubel smirked at the familiar sight.
Kuri Kuri!, resounded the little furball before being ripped apart.
"And now Winged Kuriboh's effect activates!", stated Blue Maiden. "Since it was destroyed, I don't take any more battle damage for the rest of this turn!"
"Which means you'll survive the attack", Darkness stated.
A faint aura surrounded Blue Maiden, protecting her from any more damage that would take place.
Jaden always used it in a pinch, spoke up Yubel, referring to Winged Kuriboh. It always saved him.
Blue Maiden nodded at the demon's words, before suddenly turning her head to see Jaden's Deck glow.
"Wait, this is-", spoke up Blue Maiden.
Yes, this should be Sabatiel, explained Yubel, before urging the marine girl, Use its ability.
"I now activate Sabatiel - The Philosopher's Stone's special ability from my Deck!", said the marine avatar, adding the card to her hand. "I'm allowed to add this card to my hand if a Winged Kuriboh I control is destroyed."
"Hmm?", asked Don Thousand.
"I now finish my turn", concluded Darkness.

Numeronius Numeronia's ATK stats: 0 - 100,000
"My turn then", began Blue Maiden. "I draw!"
Turn 13, Blue Maiden's Turn, 4 Cards in hand, 300 LP
"This will be the card that will lead to our victory", noted Blue Maiden to herself before speaking up, "I activate Sabatiel - The Philosopher's Stone!"
The new card then appeared on the field, Blue Maiden speaking up, "I pay half of my life points to swap this card with a card from my Deck or graveyard!"
"Hoh?", asked the dark apparition.
"Sabatiel in turn is sent back to my Deck, and can be added to my hand again if I used the card that I swapped Sabatiel with", explained Blue Maiden. "As for the first card that I'll use with Sabatiel, I choose Monster Reborn!"
"Monster Reborn?", asked Axel.
"I get to revive a monster from my graveyard, and I choose my Marincess Marbled Rock!", shouted the blue-haired girl, bringing back her ace monster.

Blue Maiden's LP: 300 - 150
"I then add Sabatiel back to my hand again, and swap it with E - Emergency Call!", continued the marine avatar. "I use this card to add an Elemental HERO monster to my hand."

"The card I add...", trailed off Blue Maiden, before revealing a specific HERO in her hand after adding it. "Is Elemental HERO Neos!"
"Neos?", asked Darkness.
"What is she going to do with Jaden's ace monster?", asked Chazz. Revolver remained silent.
"I then add Sabatiel back to my hand, and activate it!", stated Blue Maiden, paying half of her LP again. "And this time, the card I choose to use is Neos Fusion!"
Blue Maiden's LP: 75 - 38
"Neos Fusion?", asked Don Thousand.
"I've never heard of that card before", stated Chazz.
"Neos Fusion allows me to fuse Neos with any card that I choose", explained Blue Maiden. "And the card that I choose to fuse it with, is none other than my Marincess Marbled Rock!"
"You're fusing both ace monsters?", asked Darkness.
"Yes, I fuse both Neos and Marbled Rock together, and form and new hope!", chanted Blue Maiden. "Come, my otherworldly warrior from the sea of hopes and dreams, Elemental HERO Marincess Neos!"
Into the field appeared a new form of Neos, colored blue and with frilly, coral-like additions to its shoulders, joints, and loincloth. Despite having newer, marine additions, it still kept its piercing glare.
Elemental HERO Marincess Neos, Level 7, 2500 ATK, 2000 DEF
It looks beautiful, noted Yubel.
"I activate the first effect of Marincess Neos!", began Blue Maiden. "It gains 500 ATK for each Link marker my Marincess Link monster has as fusion material!"
"Marbled Rock had 3 Link markers", noted Revolver.
Marincess Neos' ATK: 2500 - 4000
"I then activate its second ability!", continued Blue Maiden. "Once per turn, I get to choose a monster on the field, and Marincess Neos gains ATK equal to the chosen monster's ATK!"
"Wait a moment!", suddenly stated Don Thousand with panic. He knew what Blue Maiden was going to chose.
"I choose Numeronia, to which Marincess Neos gains its current ATK!", continued the marine avatar, the new Fusion monster gaining ATK.
Marincess Neos' ATK: 4000 - 104,000
"Sabatiel is then added to my hand one last time, to which I activate it!", Blue Maiden stated, adding the Spell card back to her hand. "And this time, Sabatiel has another effect; Since I've used this card after activating it 3 times, it changes its effect. This time, I get to target a monster I control, and it's ATK multiplies by the amount of monsters my opponent controls!"
"We control 4 monsters...!", stated Darkness.
"Yes, which means that Marincess Neos' ATK is multiplied by 4!", explained Blue Maiden.
Marincess Neos' ATK: 104,000 - 416,000
"416,000 ATK!?", asked Don Thousand, the ex-Duel Academy students rejoiced with hope.
"Now take mine and Jaden's combined power!", shouted Blue Maiden, Marincess Neos proudly shouting with power.
"Impossible!", panicked Darkness, Don Thousamd taking a step back.
"Go, Marincess Neos; Finish this Duel once and for all!", ordered the marine avatar, the new Fusion monster flying above Numeronia. "Marine Crush!"
The Neos Fusion monster dived into Numeronia, approaching the giant monster with a balled fist.
"Oh no you don't, I activate Numeronia's effect!", Don Thousand spoke up with a raised voice. "By detaching an overlay unit, I get to negate an attack from-"
"Marincess Neos' effect!", spoke up Blue Maiden. "When it attacks, my opponent cannot activate monster effects!"
"What!", asked Don Thousand, before picking back up, "If that's the case, then I activate my Trap card, Sakuretsu Armor! The attacking monster is destroyed-!"
"I can banish Neos Fusion from my graveyard, to prevent my Neos Fusion monster from being destroyed!", intercepted Blue Maiden, the black alien's Trap card vanishing.
"Now she'll win this duel!", celebrated Chazz with raised fists.
"Continue the attack, Marincess Neos!", shouted the marine avatar, the Fusion monster's fist hitting the giant behemoth. The attack resulting in a wind gust that pierced Numeronia, effectively destroying the giant monster.
"IMPOSSIBLE...!", shouted Don Thousand as he was sent flying, colliding several times with the ground in a hard thud.
Don Thousand's LP: 1300 - 0
"Don Thousand!", Darkness turned his head to his unconscious partner.
"And now Marincess Neos activates one more effect", concluded the marine avatar. "Since I destroyed my opponent's monster by battle, my opponent takes 500 points of damage!"
"What!?", asked Darkness.
"Now take this final attack!", shouted Blue Maiden, the Neos Fusion monster launching a water blast towards the dark apparition.
"Argh!"
Darkness' LP: 300 - 0
Winner: Blue Maiden
Author's Note: Chapter 28... That was a weird document. Yet one that provides a little bit of background info on Aoi Zaizen and her newly discovered powers. But what about the other people? Who are they? Who is KaibaCorp and why are they on other people's trails? How is any of this possible??
... It'll have to be another matter for another time. I hope you guys enjoyed the little teaser I gave for the next project.

I'll be honest, I hate how this chapter turned out, by far the worst chapter I've ever written in my opinion. It's messy, rushed, and all over the place; I'm glad that I finally finished writing it, since it's been the one thing holding me back from writing what I really wanted to write about. Don't worry, I'll make sure that I never write like this again. Any future duels and chapters alike will be organized and written better. If you still decide to stick around after this chapter, thank you. It will only get better from here.
If you don't like this chapter as well, I honestly don't blame you. Again, I truly apologize for how this chapter turned out, and I swear that I will write my future chapters better.
