"I have a bad feeling," Mai grumbled, her cheek resting on Noll's shoulder, "about Yasu. Something...just doesn't seem right."

Lin averted his attention from the road, momentarily, to offer Mai a reassuring look, "I'm sure he's fine. We can try calling him again tomorrow. I'm certain he'll answer." Though, Lin wasn't certain at all. He too thought it odd. "Don't you think so, Naru?"

Noll shrugged as he rested a hand on Mai's head. His fingers delicately traced a single pattern repeatedly on her scalp.

"It's very possible he might," Noll said.

Mai sighed, "I don't know… I… I have this feeling he won't."

Noll would have commented on how impressed he was with Mai's intuition, but he didn't care to upset her in that moment, nor raise Lin's suspicions.

"Perhaps you're unnecessarily worrying yourself," Noll offered. "Try not to focus too much on these feelings." He met Lin's eye and nodded, as if to silently convey he would handle the issue.

Lin returned the gesture and continued on to the next investigation site.
