Arc 5 Chapter 3: Everyone's Internships

Yusuke was focusing his spirit energy while meditating with Kitsune. She was attempting to help him gain control of his demon power. In doing so, she hoped to get Yusuke to understand the lesson she is trying to put into his brain. His spirit energy started to glow a dark red. Yusuke woke up and realized this.

"Look out!" he said.

He accidentally fired a demon gun at her. She evaded it by jumping and it destroyed a wall. She then looked back to Yusuke who bowed in shame.

"I'm sorry," he said, "That was an accident."

Kitsune looked at him.

"There are no accidents," she said, "Some things happen for a reason."

"But that shouldn't have happened," Yusuke said, "The reason I fear my demon side is because I'm scared. Scared that I might hurt somebody I care about, and I don't want that to happen."

"Yusuke, you will never be able to fulfil your goal of being a hero like your friend, until you learn to let go of the illusion of control," Kitsune said, "Me for example. I cannot control when that wall is fixed, and I cannot control when my staff gets stronger."

"But there are things that are in our control," Yusuke said, "I can control when I produce a spirit gun, or enhance my body. That's no illusion."

"Yes, and your demon energy is red, you can wish for it to be a different color, purple, yellow, or even pink," Kitsune said, "But it will always be red."

"But red demon spirit energy can't help me be a hero," Yusuke said.

"Maybe it can, if you are willing to accept it, embrace it, and nurture it," Kitsune told him, "You just need to believe in it."

"But I'm worried," Yusuke said, "What if one day something happens and I'm not in control?"

"You are too concerned with what is, or what could be," Kitsune said, "There is an old saying I have heard from my travels. Yesterday has come and passed, tomorrow never knows, but today is a gift. I believe you will accept your demon part of you, if you are willing to accept it."

"I…. I'll try," Yusuke said.

"Good," she said, "Let's call it a night."

Later that day Yusuke was resting on the bed he was provided with. He got a phone call. He picked up his phone to see Momo calling him, and answered the phone.

"Hello?" he said.

"Hi Urameshi," Momo said, "How's your internship going."

"To be honest….. I don't know," Yusuke said, "What about yours?"

"If I tell you, will you promise not to laugh?" Momo asked.

Yusuke nodded and said, "Yea."

"Ok," Momo began, "I don't know how, but….. Somehow, Kendo and I ended up filming for some kind of commercial for a hairspray product."

"Hairspray product?" Yusuke asked, "I don't see anything funny about it. If anything I feel like I should see it to see what I can do with my hair."

"I hate cameras," Momo said looking away.

"Why do you hate Cameras?" Yusuke asked.

"Because it's like a device with one million eyes on you in one little machine." Momo said.

"So your camera shy?" Yusuke asked.

"No... yes..." Momo said, "I'm worried that people will see me as the girl who failed to impress in the sports festival. Even worse... I'm scared of my father seeing me like this."

"Why are you scared of your father?" Yusuke asked

"He's... disapproving of my career," Momo answered.

"Disapproving how?" Yusuke asked

"He... never wanted me to be a hero. He wanted me to go into the whole Yaoyorozu business thing or whatever." Momo said, "He sees herowork as a waste of time, and would rather I grow up and stop wasting my time on such 'childish things'."

"Oh," Yusuke said.

"But enough about me," Momo said, "What's going on with your internship."

"Its the lesson she's trying to drive in me," Yusuke said, "Kitsune is telling me in order to master my quirk, I have to be one with my Yin, and my Yang. She's trying to get me in touch with the demon side of my spirit energy."

"Oh," Momo said, "I remember that. Your energy was red when you were facing off against Bakugo."

"Yea, she says that good and bad parts of you can be useful," Yusuke said, "But I'm scared. I'm scared of losing control and possibly hurting somebody or even worse."

"Yusuke," Momo said.

Yusuke was surprised to hear her call him by his name.

"Based on all the time we've spent together, I can tell you're a great type of person who would do anything to help others," Momo said, "You're not a bad person by any means. Even if you kept a big secret from me, I still wouldn't judge you. Listen to me when I tell you that there's no need to be scared of the demon side of your quirk. Embrace it, and accept it as part of you. The sooner you do that, the stronger you'll be."

Yusuke smiled at Momo's kind words.

"Momo, thank you for this," he said to her.

"My pleasure," Momo said with a smile.

Everyone was enjoying their internships. Jiro was getting a kick out of saving hostages using her quirk. Kirishima and TetsuTetsu were working together enhancing their quirks. Ochako was learning various martial arts techniques and improving greatly with her fighting skills.

In an unknown location, Hisashi was speaking with an associate. He was known as the Hero Killer, Stain. Apocalypse was planning to recruit him to join the league of villains.

"So what exactly is your goal here?" Stain asked.

"My goal is to remove the stain that brought me into this phase," Hisashi said, "The man known as All Might. I also have another goal. To show the world that we villains are to be feared."

"So we have one thing in common," Stain said, "Destroying the Status Quo."

"Exactly," Hisashi said, "My master has granted me with more abilities to use my fire. I owe it to him to build this new society."

"I'll give your offer some thought," Stain said, "For now, send me back to Hosu. I have some unfinished business to attend."

Meanwhile, Izuku was continuing his training with Gran Torino. With Full Cowl, he was now able to do things he couldn't before. He could jump on walls and also jump around. His combat skills have also improved. Now he was moving around while attacking. Gran Torino was watching him and had a smirk on his face.

"Impressive," he said, "Most impressive."

In addition to that, Izuku learned a few more super moves. He performed an uppercut that emitted a small cyclone that caught Torino off guard. For the first time in a while, Gran Torino really had to be on guard! They continued this for the past few days with a few breaks in between.

"You keep training with me, and you'll never hope to get stronger! Let's go, I think I got just the thing for you." Gran Torino said.

"What do you mean?" Izuku asked.

"Change into your hero costume. We're going out for patrol," Gran Torino answered, "Should the situation demand it, which I'm pretty sure it will, I'm giving you permission to use your quirk. But don't over do it."

"Yes sir!" Izuku said as he went to get changed.

Iida and Manual were doing their patrol in Hosu. He heard news that the Hero Killer was close by.

"Iida, I hate to ask this of you, but…. You're after the hero killer aren't you?" Manual asked.

Iida turned to him, surprised that he figured it out.

"I can't say it enough, I am so sorry about what happened to your brother," Manuel said walking to him, "But I can't really think of other reasons why you would choose my agency and I'm glad but…. You shouldn't let personal issues or emotions cloud your judgement."

Iida looked up at him.

"Its only because of certain things happening that we are allowed to use our quirks in specific ways, but as a hero, its against the rules to act as a vigilante, and if you're caught going on your own, its considered a crime," Manuel continued, "I mean don't get me wrong, the hero killer shouldn't get away with what he did its just… I get worried about others."

"I appreciate the concern," Iida said.

'But the thought of what I can do still floats over me.' he thought.

Meanwhile Stain and Hisashi were warped to Hosu.

"Behold my playground," he said, "Where I hunt down and destroy those who are a disgrace to the hero society. They just do it for worship and money. It sickens me."

He pulled out his swords.

"I am going to make sure the world knows what heroes truly are." he said as he jumped down

"Let him have his fun," Hisashi said with a smirk, "Because soon someone else will do his job for him."

Kogiri opened a portal unleashing new brands of Nomu. He was planning to make his weapon world known. After a few minutes there was danger all around. Manuel looked around and started evacuating the civillians. However, Iida was nowhere to be seen!

He had went out on his own to find the Hero Killer. He saw him about to take down a hero.

"Time to finish what I started long ago," he said.

Stain saw Iida running behind him and then stopped. He turned around to face him. He pulled out his sword and attacked Iida, only for him to dodge and drop his helmet.

"Well, a kid in a costume," he said, "You should run along, this is no place for children."

"You're the hero killer right?" Iida asked, "I've persued you for a while!"

"Who the hell are you?" Stain asked, "I can tell that your eyes are fueled by hatred and revenge. You best shut your mouth otherwise…."

"Otherwise what?" he asked, "You'll do to me what you did to my brother?"

"What?" Stain asked.

"I am the younger brother of the hero whose career you ended in cold blood," Iida said, "I am Ingenium's sibling. You forced him to retire!"

Stain glared at him.

"What the hell does it matter to you anyway?!" Stain asked as he attacked Iida once again.

Using his quirk, he dodged out of the way and then turned back to face him. His face was fueled with rage and anger.

"EVERYTHING!" he shouted.

His engines went into Turbo mode as he dashed over to him. He was determined to take him down no matter the cost!
