Arc 3 Chapter 11: D.C
Class 1A was on their way to the next city on their destination. They were following a beacon that Momo put on the villain that attacked her and Kenshi. Meanwhile Asuna was having a conversation with Momo.
"So that's how you two found each other," Asuna said.
"Yep," Momo said, "Turns out we've been following each other in real life for a while but we just didn't know it yet. I realized I was falling for him after Battle Training."
"Its adorable," Asuna said, "By the way what exactly is your quirk?"
"Creation," Momo said, "I can create anything as long as I know the material. The fuel to my creations is the food I eat."
"Its like po-" Sero said, before looking at a glaring Kenshi.
"Sero!" Kenshi muttered in a slightly threatening manner.
"Like…. Totally cool!" Sero finished while sweating.
"And my quirk is, well, you guessed it, Gamer," Kenshi said, "I can pull items from video games, like this."
He pulled out Kirito's blades, much to Momo's amusement as she giggled.
"Seriously Kenshi, now that's just being obsessed." Momo told him. "And this is after you have met those two."
"What can i say, the blades are well balanced." Kenshi told her. "Though, i really would like to use Excalibur at least once, but I simply can't get the sword to appear in my inventory. And I've completed the Yggdrasil quest thrice now." Kenshi whined.
"Well, if you wanted to try out Excalibur, then you could have just asked me, you know." Kirito told him.
"Are you serious, your going to let me weild it?" Kenshi asked his friend.
"Sure, but you'll need to be able to lift it. It has an insanely high strength requirement. I'm sure you know of that." Kirito explained as he selected Excalibur from his quirk inventory.
"Say, I never got to know what your quirk was." Kenshi asked him.
"Asuna and I have similar quirks which allow us to create swords from games we play. It's similar to yours but unlike your Gamer quirk we're only allowed to generate swords. The main difference in our quirks being that i can generate and wield 2 swords and she can generate and use only one." Kiriso explained. "My quirk is registered under the name of Swordsman while Asuna's is registered as Swordswoman."
Kirito handed Kenshi Excalibur and Kenshi struggled to keep it upright.
"Okay, you are right, this sword is pretty heavy." Kenshi commented. "Gives me an idea." He said, smirking like a devil.
Momo knew what he was planning.
"Kenshi, no." Momo said in a playfully stern voice.
"Kenshi, Yes." Kenshi retorted as he made his way to Izuku.
"This ought to be good," Jiro commented.
"Hey Midoriya, hold this." Kenshi said, giving Izuku the sword.
"Sure." Izuku replied, grabbing the sword and holding it upright with no difficulty whatsoever.
"Fuck. My. Life!" Kenshi exclaimed. "Stop using your quirk for a bit."
"I'm not using my quirk. Also what was with that expression?" Izuku asked the boy confused.
"First off, you're holding THE heaviest sword with The highest strength requirements from any sword based game. That is the sword Excalibur!" Kenshi told him.
"Excalibur, huh." Izuku exclaimed, performing a few basic moves with the sword. "I know you said that the sword was supposed to be heavy but it feels a bit light. I want to see what i can do in battle."
"Sorry to end the fun but, you'll have to give that sword back. It will disappear in a bit." Kirito told Izuku and Kenshi. "Most of the swords I create have a time limit of 60 to 75 minutes but for Legendary swords like Excalibur its 10 minutes. But i usually dont pull Excalibur out to fight, Elucidator and Dark Repulsor are my usual go to." Kirito explains, taking Excalibur back from Izuku and returning it to his inventory. "Though you being able to wield a sword like Excalibur with that ease is a first, not even I am able to use the sword without slowing myself down a bit."
"Dude, my quirk is similar," Kenshi said, "I had a legendary relic I used in the sports festival, I almost had a shot against Kaachan but…."
"Only the nerd gets to call me that," Katsuki said.
"...Against Bakugo, But I got cocky," he finished, "I also have some new items as well."
He showed off the Eraserhead special he made.
"This gives me an advantage against ranged attacks," he explained, "I can also grab objects and use them".
"Interesting," Kirito said.
"Let me just say that its an honor to work with you on this case, Mr. Kirito," Kenshi said as he bowed in respect, much to Momo's amusement.
"Save the 'Mr' and 'sir' for someone who's a little older than you," Kirito said, "We're only a few years apart, plus it makes me feel old."
The group finally made it to the hotel they were staying at. The plan was to wait until the Kleptomaniac started moving again. Once he did, Izuku and other students would follow him and attempt to stop him. Leo had an idea. He called Melissa.
"Leo, what a surprise," Melissa said, "What can I do for you?"
"We're in D.C tracking down a villain," Leo said, "We have a bleeper from one of Momo's creations. I figured your tech would have an easier time analyzing him and finding out who he is."
He sent her the information. With everything in tact, Melissa got to work in a jiffy. She started to get a match and started analyzing Kleptomaniac's secret identity. Needless to say she was amazed with what she found out.
"What is it?" Leo asked.
"The true name of this man is Daito Tamoto," Melissa explained, "He had a company who collected support items from various pro hero battles, however his company was shut down as someone else took over his job. Looks like he turned to a life of crime wanting revenge on the company. But the surprising thing is…. He's never killed someone."
"Looks like we got ourselves an anti-villain," Kenshi said, "So what's his motive?"
"That I'm still trying to figure out," Melissa said, "At least we got a starting point."
"Alright," Leo said.
The bleeper suddenly started moving. That was the signal for the heroes to start moving. Izuku, Ochako, Katsuki and Iida started heading out. Meanwhile Kaminari and Asuna were looking for Morgan, thinking she would give more instructions to Kleptomaniac. Asuna heard some noise.
"Follow me," she said.
They both went to a wall where she heard more noise. Once she was close enough she put her ear to the wall to overhear what was going on.
"There should be a train coming," she said, "Just follow it and it should reach the convo where the items are at. But go silently."
"Everything's going according to plan," Kleptomaniac said.
Jiro signaled to Kaminari. He used his quirk to shut off the room, and Morgan's phone. She tried to turn it back on but she failed. The doors were barged open, with Kaminari, Asuna and Aizawa stepping forward. Morgan was about to use her quirk, but it was erased.
"Its time you did some explaining Ms Morgan," Aizawa said glaring at her.
Meanwhile Iida was driving a car going after Kleptomaniac. He was using his nanotech to propel him to the location he was heading to. Iida was joined by Jiro, Kenshi, and Izuku. They kept chasing him silently without being detected. Suddenly Iida put the car to a stop. Jirou was confused.
"Why are we stopped?" she asked.
"There's a red light!" Iida said.
"THERE ARE NO RED LIGHTS DURING A FUCKING CAR CHASE!" Jiro shouted.
The light turned green and Iida went again. They kept chasing after Kleptomaniac. Kenshi looked behind him. He saw Red Ape coming after them.
"Um guys…. We got a bogey!" he said.
Red Ape grabbed a trash can and threw it at the car Iida made a turn and dodged the car. However he had his blinker turned on. Jirou was dumbfounded.
"Did you just put your blinker on?!" she asked.
"Hey, its the law to indicate a turn," Iida said.
Jiro had enough.
"That's. It." she said.
She took over the wheel and started to speed up. Red Ape kept chasing after them. Jiro saw a shortcut and took it, hoping to shake off the gorilla that was chasing them. Kenshi saw Kleptomanic climbing up a building. It was near a train station.
"There he is!" he said, "Pop the top while Deku and I handle him!"
Jiro opened the top of the car. Izuku channeled up his quirk to 30%. The two of them jumped up. Kleptomaniac saw them coming, but decided to carry on with his plan. Izuku reached the top.
"What's your plan Daito?" he asked.
"Nothing you need to concern yourself with," he answered, "Let's talk."
Izuku jumped over to Kleptomaniac and aimed at him with a kick to the face. He used his shadow to shield himself. Izuku kept coming at him with attacks from punches to kicks, only for all of them to be blocked by his shadow. Kenshi joined in the fray with the buster sword from Final Fantasy VII.
Kleptomaniac pushed Izuku to the side, and turned his attention to Kenshi. He threw projectiles of his own shadow at him. Kenshi sliced them away while getting closer. When he was close enough he went for a glitch punch to the face. It was blocked by his shadow. Kleptomaniac then threw Kenshi down near Izuku.
Kleptomaniac saw his chopper coming.
"Well its been memorable boys, but I have business to attend."
He used his shadow to levitate to the chopper.
"He's getting away!" Izuku said.
"Oh no he's not!" Kenshi said.
He dashed forward and jumped. He managed to break Kleptomaniac's concentration and make him fall. They both landed on top of a train. Kenshi managed to get balance and faced the villain.
Kleptomaniac then formed his shadow into 4 tentacle like objects.
"Ok I've definitely seen something like this before," Kenshi said, "Its almost like the authors are using a reference from…."
He didn't get to finish as a tentacle almost hit him. Kenshi managed to dodge it. Kleptomaniac started using the tentacles to try and pushes Kenshi off. However Kenshi combined his martial arts lessons with the Eraserhead speciaal to keep from getting attacked. Jiro saw them as she was driving. She then sent a message to other students to meet them at a specific location.
Kenshi continued battling against Kleptomaniac. Kleptomaniac got the upper hand and grabbed him with one of his shadow tentacles. He pinned him down and kept him restrained for another train to come. He let go and then Kenshi was hit by the train. He fell down, but realized he still had the Eraserhead special.
"Eraserhead special, Cellophane Style!"
He started swinging from buildings to catch up with the train. Kleptomaniac saw this and decided that he was gonna slow him down. He grabbed two passengers and threw one of them at him. Sero showed up and caught her and got her to safety.
Kenshi caught the other one and landed him somewhere safe. Kleptomaniac decided he had enough. He went to the front of the train and knocked out the engineer. He then pushed the speed of the train to high speed and destroyed the controls. Kenshi jumped on the train and saw this.
"Looks like you have a train to catch," he said.
He jumped off. Kenshi ran to the front of the train.
"I can't stop it, the breaks aare gone!" the engineer said.
A spark emitted and damaged Kenshi's helmet. He ahd to take it off. However he saw that the end of the road was close. He turned to the conductor.
"Tell everyone to hang on!" he said.
He tried using his foot to slow down the train. It seemed to work at first but his foot was getting tired. He had to get back up.
"Anymore bright ideas in that head?" the conductor asked.
"I got a few," he said.
He used the Eraserhead Special to grab two buildings. At first it was slowing the train down. However the tape soon wore off. Kenshi almost lost balance but he got back up in time. He knew he had to go beyond in order to save these people.
"Go beyond," he told himself, "Plus Ultra…."
He summoned his stand and then ordered it to hold the train from behind. He then used the tape and made multiple strings to help slow the train down. He held the strings with all of his might while Jabu was holding the train from behind in an effort to keep it from stopping. He screamed in pain as he was keeping the train from falling with all of his might. Part of his costume was starting to rip off from all of the pressure.
His efforts were not in vain however as the train was starting to slow down. The passengers were looking at this. Jirou made it to the end of the tracks. She and the others noticed that Kenshi was trying to stop the train from reaching the end and falling down. The train started to slow down just as it reached the edge. Debris started falling down, and people started to run. The train nearly reached the edge but it stopped just in time, thanks to Kenshi's hard efforts.
Kenshi began to pass out from exhaustion and overusing his quirk. Just as he fell the passengers caught him. They all brought him to safety to allow him to rest. As soon as help arrived, the passengers were taken out of the train one by one. Kenshi was brought out in a hospital bed.
Momo rushed over to be by Kenshi's side.
