Snowflake was there when he awoke, pouring a cup of iced water for him. "Are you alright? You were out for quite some time."

Milori downs the cold liquid as all the past events came back to him. "I broke a wing didn't I?"

The way she looked down and away pretty much confirmed it. "How did you know?"

"I felt it. It was numb, then there was pain. So much of it until there was nothing." He described. "I can't move it." He said, only able to flutter his left wing.

"I'm sorry, we tried everything." Snowflake sighs.

"It's okay. There's no cure for a broken wing." He shakes his head. "Is Clarion alright?"

"I'm sure she's worried but I'll give her an update soon." Dewey walks in then. "You can come, if you want. I'm sure she'd want to see you."

Milori's eyes catch a glance at himself through a mirror. The tip of his right wing was torn off and the right side of his body felt almost lighter. "I'll see her tomorrow." He sighs, tearing his eyes away from the mirror.

Dewey nods slightly and flies out of the room

"We could find you an owl to help you get around. None are trained enough yet but they're smart, you know? I'm sure the animal fairies can train one to be by your side and-"

"I can't talk about this right now." Milori interrupts her talking. "I just want to go home."

Dear Milori,

I hope you are healing well. I am so sorry for what happened. You have given me the best three years of my life and for that I am forever thankful but I am sorry things had to end this way. As Queen of Pixie Hollow it is my duty to protect my fairies and make sure that they are safe from harm and I will do it even if it means sacrificing my happiness. Please understand that I do not mean to sacrifice your happiness as well but as the lord of the Winter Woods I believe you and I share the same hope of safety for those we rule over. I have given it a lot of thought the past few days and truly believe that fairy interaction between our two worlds should be forbidden. Once again I ask for your understanding on the matter and find happiness again somewhere else. I wish it did not have to be this way.

Yours truly,

Clarion

It wasn't easy reading that letter. Queen Clarion was polite and straight to the point, but the Clarion he knew was informal and more down to earth to him. He remembered the way she laughed when they were alone, her head tipped back as she laughed unrestrained. He barely saw that Ree in the letter and it hurt knowing he would never hear her laugh again. Still, he picked up a feather and started writing.

Dear Ree,

I will say it a million times over again that what happened was not your fault and never in a million years would I blame you for it. A cape made from owl feathers has been made for me, I think that would make me quite mysterious. They're also training an owl for me to ride on which is rather cool don't you think? I want to let you know not to think about me or my wing too much because everything is going to be back to normal. You do overthink and fuss a lot when you are worried. If you think this rule is the best thing for Pixie Hollow I will support you and do my part to make sure nobody breaks it. I might never get to tell you how I feel so I will do it now. You mean the world to me and no matter what you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you and I will miss you.

Love,

Milori

A slightly comforting feeling warms her heart as she reads about his new adaptations to his injury. Clarion lets herself cry but smiles as she reads on, him telling her he loved her soothing her aching heart very slightly. Letters were usually to be disposed off once no longer needed but her hands couldn't seem to part with the rough texture of the parchment. Thus she rolls it up and places it in a drawer in her nightstand where it sat safely for her comfort.

Sighing, she walks over to the large window of her bedroom. Raindrops could be heard hitting the leaves and the ground beneath her. It was a small drizzle, an improvement from the heavy rain that poured over Pixie Hollow the night before. She blamed it on a shift in wind direction that brought rain clouds close to Pixie Hollow when the storm fairies asked. Clarion glances at the tall mountains up north. She could barely see them in the dark of night but as she fell asleep that night, the last thing on her mind was a bright green aurora, a steaming cup of chamomile tea and hands around her waist.
