Chapter 28: 2nd Day of College

A/n: Hey y'all, welcome back once again. Sorry for the little late update. I'll try to be more on time. Oh and updates should be around every week, between Thursday to Sunday. I never really gave a upload date so I'm sorry everyone. Anyways, I hope you enjoy today's chapter. :)

3rd Person Pov.

Fuutarou awoke from his bed once again. His alarm was blaring across the room to an annoying beeping noise.

"Alexa! Stop!" Fuutarou yelled out loud.

The beeping came to an end and Fuutarou layed there. He sighed and then took a deep breath in.

"I don't want to get up." Fuutarou groaned to himself.

Below him, he heard a faint snoring sound and a light wet spot on his shirt.

Fuutarou looked down and stared at an oranged hair girl, sleeping peacefully on his chest. (Yes I know Yots' hair is not orange, but who cares? Im sticking with the anime hair colors.)

Next to her, Nino, Itsuki, Miku, and Ichika were also sleeping on top of him. All normal stuff and this has happened before.

"I think I'll stay here all day." Fuutarou said to himself.

Fuutarou leaned his head back onto his pillow and closed his eyes. He laid there, listening to the snores of Yots.

After some time, he heard a loud thoud to his right. Fuu quickly looked over to the floor to see who fell overboard.

Ichika was there still sleeping even though she fell pretty hard.

Fuutarou managed to slowly get 4 of the sisters off of him. The hardest was Yots as she was directly on top but he managed to do it. He then got off the bed and stood up and looked down at Ichika.

Her shirt was somehow unbuttoned so Fuutarou's first task was to button it up quickly.

He grabbed the bottom button first and put it through the button hole. He repeated this process for the whole shirt until it was finally covering all of Ichika.

Fuutarou slid his hands under Ichika and picked her up, bride style.

Ichika slowly opened her eyes when she felt herself rise up.

"Mmm, ohaiyu Fuu." Ichika smiled, half awake.

"Ohaiyu Ichika." Fuutarou greeted back.

"Is this carrying, practice for our wedding in the future~?" Ichika teased.

Fuutarou blushed at the thought of it. "Ahmmm." He muttered.

"Oh I'm just messing with you." Ichika chuckled and pecked him on the cheek.

The two looked at each other with a slight blush on both of their faces.

"You can set me down now." Ichika told Fuu.

Fuutarou slowly dropped her back down onto the bed.

"I'm going to get ready then, I'll see if I can cook anything for everyone." Fuutarou said to Ichika.

"Awhhh, whhyyyy??? Do you have to leave now?" Ichika asked.

"I need to get ready. You know my routine." Fuutarou said.

"Hmph, fine." Ichika pouted.

"I'll be back, don't worry." Fuutarou assured Ichika.

Fuutarou went over to his bathroom and got his shower started. After a minute of waiting for the water to get warm, he stepped in and took a quick shower.

He finished up after a few minutes and Fuu stepped out of the shower. He heard a light knock on the door.

"Fuu? How long are you going to stay in there?" Yotsuba asked from the outside.

"I'll be out in a minute, hold on." Fuutarou replied.

"Alright, because Itsuki is getting hungry and plus we all want your cooking." Yotsuba said.

"Can't Nino cook anything for Itsuki?" Fuutarou asked.

"Nope, she said her hands are dead tired." Yotsuba responded.

"Ah ok, I'll be there in a bit." Fuutarou said.

Yotsuba left the room and went back to sitting at the table. After some waiting, Fuutarou finally came out of his room. His hair was still a little damp and he smelled nice.

The quints all noticed this.

"Ok, what do you girls want to eat?" Fuutarou asked out loud.

"Ooh ooh! Could we get some sausage?" Yotsuba asked.

"Yots," Fuutarou looked at her blankly, "You could've just made those on your own."

"Gomen! I forgot." Yotsuba bonked her head while she stuck out her tounge in a playful manner.

Fuutarou sighed. "I'll still make some for everyone."

Fuu cooked up some sausage and once the smell of the maple spread throughout the room, the sausages were ready to eat. They were served with some eggs and a side of rice. Fuutarou took a seat at the table and the quints all surronded the table with hungry looks on their faces.

Yotsuba was the first to try some of the sausages.

"Mmm! So yummy!" Yotsuba exclaimed.

"Thank the company who made those, not me." Fuutarou said.

"But you cooked them, so that means something, right?" Yotsuba pointed out.

"Not really, but hey, whatever you like." Fuutarou gave a thumbs up to Yots.

Yotsuba chuckled. "They are really good though. Maybe you should learn how to make your own sausages Fuu!" Yots suggested.

"He could but it's a lot of prep." Nino said. "But I wouldn't mind helping out."

"Thanks Nino, but I don't think I'll make my own sausages. I'll just stick to my soups." Fuutarou thanked Nino.

The rest of breakfast was like any normal breakfast they had with each other. Fuu and the quints just talked about anything that came to mind. It was a nice sight and it was very peaceful. Just them talking and having fun.

Fuutarou made it to his first class once again. He predicted that this second day wouldn't have a lot going on, as it is still the beginning of the year for everyone.

Fuu walked to his seat and sat down. He hung his backpack behind him and he grabbed a notebook and a pen. Next to him, Itsuki was setting up her desk like it was hers and hers alone.

She had her notebook in the middle with 3 different pens next to it. On the top of desk, she had a pencil case with a bunch of random things.

"What do you think we're going to do today Fuuta?" Itsuki asked Fuu in a whisper.

"Probably nothing too hard. It's still way to early in the year for anything." Fuutarou answered.

"I suppose you're right." Itsuki said.

Mr. Bauer stepped into the room which silenced everyone's conversations.

"Morning everyone." Mr. Bauer greeted.

"Morning." The whole class responded back in a dead tone.

Mr. Bauer sighed as he went to sit down in his seat. Today and yesterday, he's had this gloomy but cool attitude the whole time in his class.

"Alright, I'm doing something different." Mr. Bauer said aloud.

"Normally, you're not going to be in group projects this early in the year but I'm bending the rules." Mr. Bauer said. "Ok, get in groups. Maximum of 5."

A girl in the front of the class asked a question. "Does it matter who's our group mates?"

"I don't care, as long as they have my class, put them in your class for all I care." Mr. Bauer said.

"Awesome!" The girl exclaimed.

"Yea yea, get in a group." Mr. Bauer said in his dead emotionless tone.

Fuutarou and Itsuki looked at each other.

"So, do you want to be in a group?" Fuutarou asked. "You don't have to or anything, I'm fine if you do or not."

"Fuuta, what question even is that? Of course I'll be in a group with you!" Itsuki gave Fuutarou a big hug.

"Alright alright, got it. But we should at least have some more people in our group." Fuutarou broke away from the hug chuckling a bit.

"Yea, I suppose so." Itsuki said.

Just as Itsuki finished talking, 3 people approached them. There was 2 girls and 1 guy standing there, in front of them.

The girl on the left with the brown hair spoke out loud first.

"Do you guys want to combine groups? It's a perfect 5 if we do." The brown haired girl said.

Itsuki looked at Fuu for approval. Once she saw that Fuutarou nodded, she answered back.

"Sure, I don't see why not." Itsuki said.

"Great! Is it alright if we sit next to you two?" An enthusiastic yellowed hair girl said out loud.

"Sure go right ahead. No one's there anyways." Fuutarou motioned that the seats were empty.

"Awesome!" The yellowed haired girl plopped down in the seat next to Fuu.

Itsuki took notice of where she was sitting.

The brown haired girl sat in front of Fuutarou and Itsuki. The other guy in their group sat behind Fuu.

"Well then, My name's Uesugi Fuutarou and this is Nakano Itsuki." Fuutarou introduced himself.

"Hey! I can introduce myself!" Itsuki pouted.

Fuutarou chuckled a bit. "I'm sure you can."

"I can Fuuta!" Itsuki pouted even more.

"I'm just messing with ya." Fuutarou chuckled.

Itsuki and Fuutarou stopped their little teasing fight and turned to face the rest of their group.

"Gomen." Fuutarou apologized.

"You're fine." The brown haired girl nervously chuckled. "The names Tanaka Mai, but you can call me Mai."

The brown haired girl now named Mai held her hand out. Fuutarou gave it a firm handshake.

"Ooh, a firm handshake." Mai said.

The yellowed hair girl shot up and quickly introduced herself. "Hiya! Nakamura Akina here!" She grabbed Fuu's hand and gave it a big handshake.

"Nice to meet you." Fuutarou was shaken up and down by the big and vigorous handshake Akina gave him.

Finally, the other guy in the group introduced himself. "My name's Haruto." He was kind of quiet in his introduction and he clearly has no interest in anything.

"I have to stick with Mai over there everyday."

"That doesn't sound bad." Itsuki said.

"Eh, she gets annoying." Haruto said.

"What!?! No I don't!" Mai angrily said. "You're just so gloomy that you find my nice, polite, and respectful side of me to be annoying!!" She continued to yell.

Mai stopped herself and took a deep breath in and out.

"Sorry, didn't mean to raise my voice there." Mai apologized.

"You're fine." Itsuki assured her.

The group sat there with a little bit of an awkward silence surronding them.

"So, what are we waiting for?" Akina asked.

"For Mr. Bauer to continue his class. But it looks like he's caught up with something on his computer." Fuutarou pointed out.

They all looked at Mr. Bauer who had a gaming headset on and was very invested into whatever he's doing on his computer.

"I wonder what he's doing." Akina asked.

"Probably something random." Haruto gave a guess.

The group sat there for a bit more, looking at Mr. Bauer.

"So, how do you guys know each other?" Mai asked.

"We're roommates." Itsuki answered.

"Ah I see... You two aren't dating, right?" Mai asked.

"Ahmm, no we're not." Itsuki blushed and was a little quiet in her response.

"Hm, I see." Mai said with a slight smirk on her face.

Mr. Bauer stood up from his computer and cleared his throat for the whole class to hear.

He then spoke out loud. "Alright, that's it for today. Once you get your groups finalized, we'll start the actual project tomorrow. You all can leave now."

"Well then, me and Itsuki are going to go now." Fuutarou said, standing up.

Mai stopped him before he turned to leave. "Do you think you and Nakano-san would want to have lunch with us? I think it would be good for all of us to get to know each other more."

Fuutarou looked at Itsuki. He didn't have to say a word at all. Itsuki already knew what he was asking.

"Sure I don't see why not. Where shall we eat?" Itsuki asked.

"I was thinking about that sandwich shop near here, is that good?" Mai asked.

"Yep, that's good with us." Itsuki said.

"Yosh! We'll see you there. How's 1:00 sound?" Mai asked.

"We'll be there, see you Mai." Itsuki said goodbye.

"Nice meeting you as well Haruto and Akina." Fuutarou said farewell.

"Alright! Bye bye! See ya then!" Akina said.

Fuutarou and Itsuki walked out of the classroom together. Itsuki felt like holding Fuuta's hand today so she took her chance and snagged it away from his pocket.

"Oh what's this?" Fuutarou teasingly asked.

"It's n-nothing... I j-just felt l-like it!" Itsuki pouted.

Fuutarou chuckled. "Yea alright, I'll let you hold my hand." He smiled.

Itsuki smiled with a light blush on her face. "So what class do you have next?"

Fuutarou and Itsuki walked into the sandwich shop and looked if Mai and her friends were there. The interior of the shop was nice and cozy with a lot of pale green accents everywhere. Ther were some booths on the side and a half table facing the window so people could eat there. In between, there were circular tables that could fit 5-8 people.

As Itsuki looked around, she quickly spotted Mai and the other two sitting at a table with enough chairs for all of them.

Itsuki and Fuutarou walked towards the table. When they reached the table, Fuutarou slid a chair out for Itsuki to sit on. Fuutarou then went and sat on a chair of his own.

"Glad you could make it." Mai said.

"Of course! I'm not that mean to go against what I said." Itsuki said.

"Hiya again Nakano-san! You too Uesugi-san!" Akina greeted the two.

"Hello again." Haruto greeted.

"So then, tell me more about yourself. Which highschool did you go to?" Mai asked. She set her elbows in the table to prop her head up with her hands. She especially looked at Fuu for his answer.

"Well we're from the same highschool. Asahi Highschool to be exact." Itsuki answered.

"Really? Wow, that's cool!" Akina blurted out.

"Yep, what about you three? Which highschool did you go to?"

"We three went to the same highschool together as well." Mai answered.

"Oh, so you three really do know each other." Fuutarou said.

"Yea, especially Akina here. We've known each other since elementary." Mai said.

"That's great." Itsuki said.

A waiteress approached them to take their order. She pulled out her notepad and a pen.

"Hello, welcome to Ena's Bakery. How may I help you?" The waitress asked.

"You two can order first, it's fine." Mai told Fuutarou.

"I'll just get your most popular sandwich." Fuutarou ordered.

"Alright, that'll be the Luc-wich." The waitress told Fuu.

"How about you?" The waitress asked Itsuki.

"I'll get the same thing as him." Itsuki ordered next.

"Ok, how about you three?" The waitress asked.

"Let me try Jeff-Double." Haruto ordered.

"I'll get the Lance stack!" Akina ordered next.

"I'll just have a simple Hero No.2." Mai ordered last.

"Alright, I got that all down. Do you want any drinks?" The waitress asked.

"Let me try the Tensonade." Fuutarou asked.

"Got it, anything else?" The waitress asked.

"I'll just have a water." Itsuki said.

"Same here." Mai said next.

"Me too." Akina followed.

"I'll have a water as well." Haruto ordered last.

"Ok! I'll have your orders out in a few minutes." The waitress said. She walked away with her notepad and quickly went into the kitchen.

"So what do you do outside of school?" Mai asked, wanting to start a conversation.

"I'm taking lessons with a teacher to become a teacher." Itsuki said.

"What about you Sugi-San?" Mai asked.

'Sugi-San?? What is she saying?' Itsuki thought to herself.

"I don't really do anything important. My days after school is mostly just studying or watching sports." Fuutarou admitted.

"I thought you'd do more." Mai said.

"I mean I do but it's not really important." Fuutarou lied. Being with the quints is important but Fuu can't say that.

"I see then. Have you two gone on a date yet?"Mai teasingly asked.

Itsuki blushed slightly and Mai took notice. "No we haven't yet." Itsuki answered.

"Yep, we aren't dating." Fuutarou said. Fuuta lied as naturally as he breathed.

Just as Fuutarou was done speaking, the waitress came back with all of their food. Each person got their sandwiches and drinks served in front of them.

"Enjoy your food!" The waitress exclaimed.

"Alrighty then! Itadakimasu!" Akina exclaimed.

She immediately grabbed her sandwich and took a big bite.

"Itadakimasu." Itsuki, Fuuta, Haruto, and Mai said together.

"Man I'm starving, this looks really good." Fuutarou said before taking a bite. He took a big bite and all the flavor immediately entered his mouth.

"Mmm it's pretty good." Fuutarou praised.

The rest of the lunch went like a regular lunch between people. They continued to talk more and they learned more about each person's past and where they came from. There even was a point where Itsuki let it slip where she should review this sandwich place as her disguise.

She ended up having to tell Mai and Akina about what she did in highschool with her food reviewing thing. Haruto was not interested.

After they finished up their food, everyone paid for everything and left the restaurant feeling satisfied. Once they exited, they said farewell to each other and went their separate ways.

Fuutarou and Itsuki went and finished off their day. Fuu went to his classes and Itsuki went to hers as well.

The day finished up as usual with Fuutarou returning back to the dorm with the quints greeting him with a warm, welcome back.

Anyways, hope you enjoyed this week's chapter. A pretty big one in the plot moving forward. Oh, you should remember Ena's Bakery, it's going to be an important part. And is Mai a love rival for Itsuki? Who knows??
