Chapter Twenty Nine
Yoongi POV
"Good morning! Have I got some great news for you!" I heard Nix and Tom hollering before the steel door even swung open. They kicked it open hard enough for it to swing back and clang against the metal wall. I winced from the shrill noise and watched as they marched in with their table and plates of something. I sat down and moved to the far back of the cage, moving my knees up against my chest. It was cold in here, cold enough for me to be constantly shivering and feeling stiff and achy. Nix quickly set up the table while Tom stood at the door to the cage, watching me confidently.
"What happened?" I heard Cride ask as he stepped in as well.
"We found them. Even without this twerps help." Tom turned to face him, holding his hand up in a fist bump. My heart skipped a beat. They found them? Which ones?
"Found who?" Cride asked for me, clearly not a part of group meetings in this little gang.
"Kim Namjoon and Kim Seokjin!" Dole and Pike said together excitedly. My breath hitched in my chest as I listened. They found Namjoon and Jin? How?
"They're gonna ship them out today, we should be seeing them here in the next day or so." Tom said and took his seat. He pulled his plate of pork chops closer and made sure it was in my line of sight. But suddenly I wasn't starving anymore. My stomach was filled with butterflies of dread and anxiety now. Part of me was beyond relieved that I'd finally be able to see some of the others after so long, but also I was terrified of what these guys would do to them. Cride met my gaze for a moment.
"How did you find them?"
"Some lady is wanting to sell them, she got bored with them." Nix said between mouthfuls of food. "What she doesn't realize is that there's a huge bounty out for them."
"Just sell them off one by one, make a fortune that way." Pike said confidently but Tom shot him a glare.
"No you idiot, they're far more valuable together. People want to see them dance." He said and turned to face me again. "We've already got Agust-D, now we'll have their leader and eldest member." Some lady, Destini, got bored with them. Which means that they were coming here. Maybe Cride, given he kept his word, could help us get out of here. Then we could meet up with the others. This nightmare could be over in the next week.
"Hey, you there?" Nix was snapping his fingers at me. I looked over at him foggily, my mind still slow. I felt light headed and dizzy.
"Give him something, even a little bit. We don't want him starving to death on us." Pike said, his mouth full of potatoes. Tom sighed, scraping a third of his plate off onto another. He shoved the plate through the bars and towards me. I fought my instinct to immediately grab the plate, my anxiety screaming that it was a trap.
"Come on, we need to prep for their arrival." Dole said and began cleaning the table off. Pike and Nix helped him, folding up the table and chairs. Tom only stood and watched me carefully. He was trying to read me, but I gave him no outwards sign of emotion, something I was good at.
"Be grateful." He said quietly and then turned to follow the others out. Again, Cride stayed behind, giving the excuse that he would take the plate with him. He waited until the others were out of earshot and then crouched next to the cage, looking in at me.
"So, your friends are coming. That's good." He said and I only nodded, shifting to lean against the wall again more comfortably. "You can eat, it's alright. I know you're hungry." I was hungry, painfully so, but my mind was so rocked from the recent news that I didn't even know if I could eat. I shakily took the plate and picked up one of the sausages.
Cride POV
I watched as Yoongi bit into one of the sausages, his frame shivering from the cold. He seemed to relax some, and his eyes fluttered shut as he enjoyed its flavor.
"I promised I would help you, that includes your friends." I whispered and his eyes opened again to look at me. "As soon as they get here, I'll figure something out."
"Thank you." Yoongi said quietly, setting the empty plate down on the ground within my reach. The simple words took me by surprise. He leaned back against the wall again, his gaze still distant and exhausted.
"Do you need any more? I'm sure they've got a lot." I took the plate and he nodded, though his eyes seemed to be fighting to stay open. He was cold yet still was tired enough to try and sleep. Would Tom kill me if I got him a blanket?
Hobi POV
We were about 14 hours into our 27 hour drive. We had rotated a few times with the front passenger seat, and I was up here again. Jungkook had driven for a good 5 hours, giving Kelly a chance to sleep as well. I shifted in my seat, leaning my head against the door. Jungkook was the first to start complaining, however.
"Do we have food?" He asked hopefully, leaning forwards to poke my arm. The boy just had a bottomless pit for a stomach, he was always hungry. I shrugged the blanket off to look over at him and the others. Taehyung was leaning forward now too, his dark eyes as large as Jungkooks. Jimin was rousing, sitting up with a large stretch.
"What's going on?" He mumbled, rubbing one eye sleepily. His peach hair was tousled and messy.
"Food." Tae said quietly and his eyes lit up. Apparently everyone was hungry.
"We can stop at this next exit." Kelly smiled and I nodded. Just then my stomach decided to grumble, loud enough for Jimin to hear it.
"See? We have to now." He smiled and I couldn't help but smile back. Kelly navigated towards the exit, slowing down for the red light again. We stopped, a couple cars pulling up next to us as well.
"There's a pizza place over there, if you're in the mood." Kelly pointed out as the light flicked to green. As she pulled forward into the intersection, I glanced out the window, only to see a huge truck barreling towards us.
"Look out!" I heard Jungkook yell before everything went black.
