I do not own Hetalia okay? Just seeing how you guys like this really makes me smile. Anyway, I don't have much else to say, so enough of this A/N, on with the fic!
Alfred and Matthew and Francis stopped by Arthur's room before Alfred and Matthew had to leave again to wish their dad luck in healing. Today was the day that Natalya and Toris were to head back to their university which was a few hours' drive away which Alfred insisted he be there to help Ivan take his sister and Toris back to the university. It was mainly the same reason he had even went with him to pick her up from the airport when Katyusha could not, to show Ivan that he was meaning goodwill towards his sister. Which was a similar reason she was trying to be nicer to Alfred. As much as they did not like each other, they did love Ivan with all their being and hated seeing him upset. This time on the way home, Alfred did not torment Matthew by playing annoying music on his phone and just sighed as he looked out the window. Matthew noticed his brother being quiet and looked at him.
"Everything alright bro?" Matthew asked.
"Yeah, just miss Vanya is all. I had arranged so much with Katyusha about an Eastern Christmas with him and all that happens is they just had a traditional Russian dinner and Natalya dragged him and Toris house hunting." Alfred said reading a text that Ivan had sent earlier.
"I am sure Ivan is fine." Matthew assured him. Alfred really loves him and worries about him…. Matthew sighed as he got onto the exit they would need. "They are his sisters after all."
"Yeah his sisters. He loves them but they can be draining at times. I mean you are married to one of them." Alfred said.
Matthew just nodded knowing that a sisterly relationship would be different than how he saw Katyusha, so he just nodded. He was certain that Natalya had probably gotten under his skin from what Katyusha had told him the night before about a few places Natalya had got for them to look at. She had told him about the one with the 70s conversation pit that both Matthew and Alfred thought was cool when they were talking which caused a long sigh from Katyusha and a rant from Natalya about how none no one but her and her siblings had any taste. But she did have a point that it would be a potential hazard for the baby that Matthew had to deal with. As they pulled up to the house, Alfred noticed Ivan's car was missing.
"Did he take Natalya and Toris back already?" Alfred asked checking his phone. "Maybe we were in a dead zone." He said with a note of panic. Ivan was not the type of man to leave Alfred to come home to a somewhat empty house. He let him know when he was going to the grocery store while at work. It was then Alfred looked at his phone again. "Shit! Forgot to charge it."
"I am sure he left a note or Katy can tell you something." Matthew said as he noticed a piece of paper on the coffee table. "See." He picked it up and carried it over to Alfred.
"Podsolnechnik, Natalya and Toris need to go back to their University today and I want them to be safe in their dorms before it gets dark. Yes, I know Natalya could probably put down any attacker as you say but she is my sister, and I must make sure she is safe. I tried calling but I guess you couldn't answer for whatever reason. It is good to hear that your dad will make a full recovery and it wasn't something too serious. Send him my best regards. I have to say our Epiphany dinner was delicious and Natalya and I made enough for you and Matvey to enjoy some leftovers when you come in. Katyusha may be awake when you are in, I don't know. She seemed tired today, Love Vanya." Alfred read off the note.
"Well, that explains that." Matthew said. "Podsolnechnik?" He asked.
"Sunflower…." Alfred blushed at one of the pet names Ivan gave him, always in Russian. Looking at Matthew's smirk he grew redder. "Stop laughing…." He said. "I am sure Katy has all sorts of pet names for you like that."
"Most involve maple in Ukrainian…." He noted. Alfred looked over at Matthew curiously. "I always thought she was speaking Russian…."
"She knows a bit of that but where they lived was near the Ukraine, Russia and Belarus border so they picked up on a lot of that and she just likes Ukraine better." Matthew shrugged.
"Makes sense I guess." Alfred shrugged as he plugged his phone in and headed to the kitchen to make some leftovers as his stomach loudly growled. "Off to have some of those leftovers."
"You and your gut. I swear you have two stomachs." At this Matthew heard a call from the bedroom.
"Matvey? Are you home?" Katyusha called.
"Coming dear." Matthew sighed as he ran to Katyusha's side. Alfred made a whipping noise when Matthew turned to him "Oh yeah 'Sunflower'"
"SHUT UP!" Alfred blushed deeply red.
"Yes mon Cherie?" Matthew asked as he headed into check on Katyusha.
"Oh you are home. Thank goodness." She smiled as he kissed her on the forehead. She then pulled Matthew's hand to her growing bump. "I need you to feel something."
"Is there anything wrong?" Matthew asked worried, remembering how she felt before she was sent onto bedrest.
"No." Katyusha smiled. "I think we will have a very active little girl." With this Matthew smiled and kissed Katyusha on the lips.
"I hope you won't be stuck here too long." Matthew said. "I do hope you will not work yourself too much. You know Al will have his cast off here in a few weeks. The burden of keeping this house does not fall to you. They don't expect you to be some Cinderella maid kind of thing." Katyusha began to say something when Matthew kissed her lips quiet. "All Al and Ivan want is for you to be well so you can give them a nice and healthy niece." Matthew smiled. "And I want the same for you." He bent down and kissed her bump. "Your Daddy wants you to grow up nice and strong and healthy. So see if you can't talk your mommy into keeping it easy."
Katyusha laughed. "Stay here. Fredka can reheat leftovers himself. I want you to look at some of the houses Natalya thought would be nice. And before you even start, the one with the conversation pit is out. If we are having a fireplace it will be good old fashioned wood. I do not like gas ones."
"Wouldn't that be unsafe as well?" Matthew teased.
"They have grates to keep a child out. But it would be nice to cut on heating costs. And I do like seeing it when you chop wood…." Katyusha blushed and giggled.
"Well now…. I know what to do for you when we can again." Matthew winked. "But some of these look pretty good. I will drag Al with me to look at all of them except the one with the conversation pit. It's obvious you've made your call on that one."
"Clearly." Katyusha nodded as she kissed Matthew back.
It was starting to rain slightly as Ivan helped Natalya carry her suitcase into her dorm room. There were no major changes between the semesters the University had and she had already ordered her books for the classes well before new year. She was ready to start as soon as classes began the next day. At this a brown haired girl with her hair up in a bun came in and placed her books down on the desk. She looked at Natalya and Ivan with a growl and sat down and began to read one of the books. Ivan looked at her and then to Natalya and Toris who was behind him "I want to make sure she is okay". Toris said and Ivan just sighed.
"That's Eliska. She's my roommate." Natalya said simply, as the girl looked at Ivan then Natalya.
"Ummmm Natalya. I'll be back. I think I forgot something at the bookstore." She ran out looking at Natalya.
"Is there some reason she would be running out like that?" Ivan asked.
"Don't know…." Natalya said looking at her hands.
Toris tapped Ivan on the shoulder and motioned for him to join him outside in the hall. "I'm worried about Natalya." He sighed.
"I noticed that with that Eliska girl. She has been very bull headed a lot lately. She isn't hurting her?" Ivan said knowing his sister did very well in various knife fighting and other martial arts, which he had only really approved of thinking it would be good for her to focus and a way for her to learn to protect herself when neither him nor Katyusha would be there that would be able to stand up for her, which Natalya had proven was capable of.
"No, I would have heard of it." Toris said as Ivan raised his eyebrow. "Her brother Evzen would have let me know too well. He's my roommate and would have told me. I just worry about Natalya getting too wrapped in her dreams to forget who actually matters to her. It'd hurt so much if she did. I had always admired her from afar until I got the, as Alfred would call it, 'gumption' to ask her out. I know you and Katyusha have noticed it too."
"Yes she will end up burning out if she keeps this up." Ivan said, worried about his youngest sister. "And I know neither our great uncle nor Katyusha would appreciate what all they did for us if she did do that. Even if Velikiy dyadya was rather a little bit of a traditionalist." Toris looked confused. "Didn't think women should have careers…."
"Oh well he probably would not have taken to you and Alfred well then either…" Toris said as Ivan shook his head.
"Probably not." Ivan smiled bitterly. "Just, Toris, keep an eye on Natalya for me. I must admit, as much as I do not like to, you have her best interests at heart. I want her to finish her degree without going insane."
"Don't worry Mr. Ivan sir…." Toris said with a smile. "I will find a way to keep Natalya from pushing herself too hard." Ivan eyed him suspiciously "Without going that far." He gulped knowing that they were moving further in the relationship. Control yourself. He cannot read minds but if you look too nervous you will tell on yourself what you did with Natalya.
"Good." Ivan said. "I must get home soon before it gets too dark. They are calling for rain tonight that might turn to snow. I would like to get home back to Fredka and Katyusha before then."
"I understand." Toris bowed. "Now would you have any ideas to sweep Natalya off her feet and keep her mind off schooling as she settles in? And I think Evzen would like that his sister has some time away from Natalya too…."
"Just why is she so scared of her?" Ivan asked.
"Eliska says Natalya just gives off that air I guess, and she will get rather aggressive when she is studying if you disturb her. Once again, never hurt her but it does scare her sometimes." Toris said.
"Yes, when she is focused, she will be like that…." Ivan said. "And frankly for creative date ideas, you'd have to ask Fredka, he's the one who gets really romantic as you would say. Or maybe Katyusha if you want a more feminine touch. She seems to like you too. Then again there isn't too many people she doesn't like on first meeting them, she's very trusting…."
"Well, they will hear from me then." Toris said. "Thank you for allowing Natalya and I to stay in your home and for driving us here. I will keep you informed of how Natalya is doing and make sure she gets good grades while making time for family and loved ones."
"Spasibo" Ivan said waving to Toris as he headed back to his car.
"Prašom" Toris said as he headed back to Natalya's dorm to make sure everything was okay before he headed back to his own. Once he did, he found Natalya hanging up some of her clothes and sitting on her bed reading her books intensely. "So, your brother seems to really care about you."
"Da" Natalya said. "I do care about him as well, but I guess one can only do so much. I do like that he likes you, sees you worthy of me." She pulled him to her level and kissed him deeply. "You already have the class books that were required for this semester. It is your final one after all."
"Yes, I do." Toris said as he kissed Natalya back, heart starting to race. You promised you wouldn't…. A voice in his mind began to say as he looked at Natalya who had laid back on her stiff dorm mattress with a smile. "You wouldn't stop pestering me about it."
"I saved you a lot of money." She whispered into his ear. "Besides, you do not have to fight that mob, risk not getting the used ones and paying full price."
"That you did." He laughed.
"This sweater is getting too hot." She said taking it off revealing nothing but a tank top. Toris's face grew redder. "And yours needs taking off as well." She slid her hands under his sweater and pulled it off. Heading to the door, pushing Toris aside on the bed, she tied his sweater around the doorknob. "So, we have privacy. Tradition states a tie or the like, but I don't have one and I don't want Eliska claiming I am spying on her and going through her clothing. So, your sweater will do."
Toris paused, growing more and more conflicted. It had seemed Natalya wanted him like he wanted her but had told himself not to go any further out of respect of her and fear of her siblings. They had nearly gone all the way the other day when they were at Ivan and Alfred's house but stopped at about third base and some playing around. Natalya claimed she wasn't going to risk her brother hitting him or having the house find out, leaving Toris to indeed take Alfred's joking advice and took a cold shower but had left him with dream that night that he was not going to tell a soul about. "Are you sure about this?" He asked.
"I made sure to stop by the student health union before the break." Natalya smiled deviously. She then threw Toris on the bed and straddled him. "I think I am ready if you are, which if I could read you, you have wanted this for a long time." As she sat on his lap, she felt something rub up against her. "You want this. And your body betrays you if you dare say you don't. I won't tell my brother if you won't." She said as she leaned down, taking off her top and bra and nibbling on his ear. "Ya lyublyu vas. Ty takoy krasivyy"
Toris's English started to break, reverting to his native Lithuanian. "Tu nežinai, kiek aš tavęs noriu"
"Pokazhi mne, kak sil'no ty etogo zhazhdal" Natalya replied, understanding the Lithuanian that Toris had slipped into.
Ivan came home with a sigh. The rain had really started to come down when he had finally come to their hometown and it was slick as headed up the steps of the porch into the house. As he opened the door, Alfred sprung up and hobbled over to greet his long-missed husband. "Vanya! It's been much too long. I missed you." He said hobbling past the coffee table, trying to make his way to Ivan. Ivan smiled and made his way to Alfred before taking off his hat and coat. Alfred was always one to be very affectionate when he hadn't seen Ivan for a while. Many times, a business trip on either one's end would often lead to tons of kisses, cuddling and many times much more. Alfred stood as best he could to reach up to Ivan to give him a kiss and held him close with his surprising strength. "So glad you're home. I was so worried about you."
"And I you dorogoy." Ivan replied. "Let me get this off."
"Already? Right here in the living room while Matt and Katy are here?" Alfred said as Ivan rolled his eyes and gave his husband a playful smack.
"Nyet." Ivan sighed as he scooped up Alfred and placed him back on the couch. "Maybe later tonight however…." He said with a kiss. "The bed was much too cold without you there to hold onto."
"Same with my old bed in my old room. Can't believe Dad and Papa haven't turned it into something else by now." Alfred said. "Speaking of Dad's operation was a success and was busted stealing my papa's hair dye."
"I knew something seemed a little off with Arthur's hair…." Ivan said.
"Yeah, you don't notice the differences in shades unless you know them." Alfred said.
"Well, it is good he is making a full recovery." Ivan smiled.
"Yours and Natalya's cooking was pretty good. And a lot. Even saving a little for Mattie there's still plenty left." Alfred said.
"That's good." Ivan said. "Oh, and I got a call while you were gone from an adoption agency. Seems we both are cleared to start the process, passing the first qualifications. I don't seem to remember signing the approval forms…."
"You did, just when you first woke up." Alfred said as Ivan sighed rolling his eyes.
"You are lucky I am on the same page as you on that issue." Ivan sighed.
"Your signature looks like nothing but scribble anyway, I could just forge it." Alfred stuck his tongue out while Ivan looked mad. "But I would never do that. The sneakiest thing is having you half conscious while signing documents."
"That's Cyrillic cursive." Ivan sighed. "Just why didn't you tell me what it was?" he asked exasperated.
"I was afraid you'd say no." Alfred admitted, face drooping and looking away.
"You do foolish things when afraid of rejection." Ivan sighed. "But Tuesday, we are to meet with a caseworker."
"Good. I am busy tomorrow." Alfred said. "Mattie wants me to help him look at the places you guys showed Katy. Shame she won't budge on the conversation pit. We should put one in."
"Nyet!" Ivan sighed. "I swear you Matthew and Toris all lack taste on that issue."
"How about a hot tub?" Alfred laughed.
"We'll see." Ivan sighed. "Although we do adopt then we need to put in a playground for the child."
"I like that." Alfred said.
"Now, I am tired from driving in this mess and need you with me." Ivan said as he scooped Alfred up and took him up the stairs.
"I can do that." He laughed.

So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long? Let me know in a review. I don't know how fast I can update the way life is right now, but I will try to. I am glad they finally released the new season of Hetalia on Funimation. If I pay for the streaming app instead of going to a seedy site to watch it for free, then you know it's a combination of good job and me wanting to pay for anime. That's how you know it's pretty damn good. Worked Czech and Slovakia in there too. Just googled Czechoslovakian baby names as there's nothing really in the wikis for them. Anyway, remember to read (well you just did) and to review. Ciao for now,
