Chapter Twenty-Nine
The cries of the men were heard as the enemy ship approached.
"Well… seems that Dawson has done myself a favor." Morgan Kingston spoke. He was standing at the dock of his own but his ship managed to endure the blow from the enemy. Kingston was pleased with himself when he watched as Mr. Dawson staggered a bit.
"That sword is going to be your end when we near yours, Dawson." He hissed to himself as their boat approached. Cries from his own mates, who wore the black garments of the Kingston's pirates, hurled words of murder and wrath as their ship started to stagger.
"Captain! She's taken a blow to the side! Some of the cannons are out!" One of the mates shouted but Kingston silenced him.
"Silence! Keep your eyes on Dawson's ship! He's got the chest!"
"Yes, sir!" The second mate called and he barked more orders for the men to try their best to avoid Dawson's cannon fires. Kingston, on the other hand, kept his focus on Jack Dawson. He was pleased to see that his men gave him the blows he deserved when they wrenched out his eye and broke his jaw.
"Just like his ancestor." Kingston thought as their ship approached.
As he held on to his own sword, he rushed past second mate, who was steering the ship, as he called.
"Head straight for her! Make sure you can crush her! Don't want to have that chest sink to the bottom, do we?!"
"No, captain!" Second mate called.
Some of the mates from the sails started to untie their ropes for the attack. Kingston didn't need to order them around to do this. They were skilled sea rats, as he called them, and they didn't need to listen to him. Some held knives in their mouths, while others held swords, though not Cutlasses. Kingston knew Dawson had a similar sword and he knew the men would leave him alone so he could finish him off. He also had another passenger with him and turning, he gestured for the passenger to be brought out. When one of the mates followed his gesture, he turned and gave a hard laugh as he called.
"And to think Dawson wasn't smart enough to think twice!"
The passenger, bound and gagged, struggled against her bonds as she heard this. Her eyes were fierce when she was set before him. When he met her gaze, Kingston heard her muffled cries.
"Oh… I'm sorry… do take that gag from the Mrs. Mayfield, would you, Albert?"
"Gladly, captain." Albert answered and he roughly removed the cloth from Mrs. Mayfield.
