Chapter 29: Red vs. Green

The Man who is borrowing Hal's Green Lantern Ring:
Aiming down the sight of the green speargun, I fire it, the spear hitting a flyer. The flyer struggles for a bit before dropping onto another flyer, the two of them exploding.

The speargun disappearing from my hand, I look over to see how Atrocitus is doing. Screaming at the top of his lungs, he grabs a yellow lantern by his arm and swings him into another one. One sneaking up from behind him, Atrocitus turns away and punches the sneaky bastard right in the head before grabbing his neck and vomiting pure, red anger onto him. The 'not-so' sneaky yellow lantern screams as Atrocitus tosses him into the air before punching him again, the yellow lantern rocketing through the sky and crashing onto a building.

"Can't tell if you're a hero or a villain," I say to myself. Out of the corner of my eyes, I see one of my swords bursting into green dust. Bringing up Hal's ring, I summon a brick wall just in time to block a blast of lightning.

"So it is true," Black Adam says, his arms pulsing his lightning. "You are here on Oa, and with a green lantern ring nonetheless."

"First Atroctius and now you," I say, my head peeking out from behind the brick wall. "Wow, I must really be making a name for myself!"

Raising his arms and firing, it hardly put a dent in the brick wall. However, sensing something else incoming, I turn around to summon a second wall. Blocking a blast from Hawkgirl, the bird lady holding some sort of ray gun, she and Black Adam fire simultaneously.

"Give it up," Hawkgirl orders, firing another round.

"You cannot stop the two of us," Black Adam screams.

"Shut up both of you," I yell, "Shush! Your voices are worse than your attacks!"

Seeing what looks like a red bullet flies through the air, toward the three of us, I smile.

"Incoming," I say, flying back just as Kara rams into Hawkgirl, the two of them disappearing.

"This is what we called a fair fight," I say, breaking the wall and shooting the bricks at Black Adam.

Atrocitus:
"Black Adam and Hawkgirl," I say, seeing the two attack the green lantern. About to help him, I stop when someone rushes into Hawkgirl, the two of them vanishing from sight. "Was that Superman! Is he here in Oa! If he is, then I must call on the other red lanterns!"

Bringing up my fist, preparing to call for reinforcement, a green blast hit and knock me out of the sky! Screaming and falling, I crash land on a nearby building.

"What happened," I say, holding my head and pushing myself up. Dusting the bits of stone off, I look up to see another green lantern, one with a chain in his hand and on a motorcycle.

"Atrocitus," the green lantern screams, tossing the chain at me. Wrapping around my arm, he pulls me toward him. While flying toward him, I shoot out my red ring and encase myself in the body of a bull. Now, with the full might of a raging bull, I charge toward the man. However, he rides out of the way. "Stop! I am not your enemy! I am trying to help you!"

"I don't buy that for a second you bastich! I heard of you! You're Atrocitus! A long-time enemy of the noble Green Lantern! And I, Green Lantern Lobo, will take you down!"

Swinging the chain again, I quickly summon a sword, the chain wrapping around it. Grabbing the chain, I use my sword to cut right through it, the chain disappears altogether. Flying at Lobo, I pull back my sword.

Summoning a gun in his hand, Lobo fires it and knocks me back! Steadying myself, he fires again and sent me flying. Hitting the building again, I call forth a shield to block more shots from Lobo. The gun disappearing from Lobo's hand, he lowers his head and charges toward me. Flying out of the way before he can hit me, Lobo instead crashes right through the building.

Looking at the building, trying to figure out where Lobo is, he burst through the roof and toward me. Hitting me with a baseball bat, I fly uncontrollably through the air.

Once more, having to steadies myself, I close my hand and look at the 'noble' green lantern.

"Fine," I say, channeling my rage into my ring. "I fight you."

Riding his motorcycle toward me, the baseball behind his head, I grab Lobo by his neck and squeeze it. Both his weapon and vehicle disappear, I spit anger in his face, dark-red liquid covering his whole head. Screaming and trying to break my grasp, I tighten it and punch the pathetic man in his face.

"I tried to help you," I scream right in his ears. "I tried to be reasonable, but no! You wouldn't listen to me!"

About to hit him in the head once more, he stops me by bringing up his fist and blinding me with a green flash. Screaming as I let him go and fly back, I look up in time to see Lobo rides a motorcycle at me. Before I could react, he hit me with it and as I roll over it, Lobo tosses a chain that wraps around me. Pulling me along, slamming me against buildings as he rides, he then does a sharp turn that sent me crashing onto the ground.

"End of the line," Lobo yells, bursts of fires shooting out from behind his vehicle as he charges toward me.

"My rage and anger are greater than your will," I scream, stomping the ground and encasing myself with the power of the red lantern. Aiming my ring upward, I change toward Lobo!

Not Green Lantern:
Summoning forth floors for me to land me, I roll onto it after Black Adam destroys my hoverboard. The pieces of the hoverboard disappearing, I run toward Black Adam, my will making more floors for me to run onto. Chanting something, Black Adam fires lightning at me but misses as I spin and turn out of the way. Close enough now, I jump up and grab his foot. Swinging myself upward, I fly into the air before landing back onto Black Adam, the two of us hitting a green floor.

Grabbing one of his legs and his neck, I then rise both of them. Trying to squeeze the wind out of him, I stop when I hear him scream 'Shazam'! Seeing clouds appear above me, and a bolt of lightning heading my head, I let go of Black Adam and jump out of the way!

The lightning hitting him, Black Adam launches back into the air.

"Your strength will not match my magic," Black Adam screams, lightning pulsing throughout his entire body, his eyes filling with power.

"Lucky for me," I say, bringing up Hal's ring. "I have a little more than just strength on my side!"

Pulling back my clenched fist, I shoot it forward, a green fist appearing and slamming right into Black Adam! Hitting him, it sent him flying through the sky.

"Never gets old," I chuckle, summoning a hoverboard to ride on. About to follow after him, I stop when I see a bunch of green lanterns all head in a specific direction. Looking at where they seem to be going, I change course and follow them.

Atrocitus:
"What," I scream, seeing something wrap around my wrist. Before I can break free of it, something then wraps around my other wrists and my feet!

"Stay strong," Kilowog says, firing his rings and wrapping chains around me. "Do not let him go! Whatever you do, do not let him go!"

Stuck now, all the green chains pinning my arms and legs together, I can't do anything. I am at the mercy of the green lanterns.
