A/N hehe Ooh these comments though to be honest with you I'm completely unbiased and I'm just writing based on the natural flow of things so I don't specifically have an opinion whether Bella is right or wrong .. the only character I clearly don't like is Edward

Now onto peoples thoughts to answer one of your comments I think you're right Bella has gotten used to the amount of control she has over her life for the past few months and even giving up a tiny bit of that is quite scary too her.

Rosalie on the other hand has also gone through a terrible ordeal but the vampire has had years to deal with the trauma, and not let it interfere in her personal life hence the reason she can be intimate with Bella without getting a panic attack. Most of Bella's life past and present her freedom of choice has been stripped away from her and to be honest I don't blame her for acting like she's acting.

I have a few ideas as to the James and Bella confrontation but to be honest with you I'm not going to let James run Bella out of forks. In the movie the only reason she did was because she wanted someplace familiar and she liked her mother or whatever. But in my book? Bella's relationship with her mother is bad , so her running away to Phoenix doesn't make sense that place holds bad memories so why would you go back to a place that's caused you so much grief?

So yeah Bella-bear will be remaining in Forks because you know I'm the author jokes but all your comments and insights are truly appreciated it just shows that y'all are into the story which makes me very happy.

Now onto the next chapter my lovelies

Previously on Can we start over?

"His mind was vile—and to be completely honest with you? I don't even think I've scratched the surface—the things he's planning Bella are unspeakable. What you've done was that you just made this the most interesting game his ever played"

"Tell Derek to be discreet—his lack of tact leaves room for improvement"

"Once you decide to take your head out your ass and stop acting like you own me then we can talk."

Rosalie stared at the empty spot, where the mustang stood not only a few minutes ago. Her own emotions felt like a torrential downpour. She hates feeling it —she know it's a integral part of being human —or vampire but since she became a vampire everything has been heightened.

People often forget that it's not just speed, hearing or any other their senses that gets heightened. But your feelings —Damn emotions; anger heightened so much so that it feels like rage —sadness so much so that it the more apt description would be despair. Now her mate was making her feel all these confusing things and too be honest for someone who hadn't felt much in the past 80 years ? It was a lot.

Running her fingers through her hair she stared up absently to the darkening sky trying to make sense of everything she felt.

She thought about Bella's words, her tears , her frustration at not being allowed a choice or opinion in her safety. Usually she would disregard that —her vampire side demanded she protect her mate even if it was from herself. Her logical more rational side that wasn't a slave to her instincts or emotions waged and told her she was wrong but so was Bella. Her mate willingly kept things from her— she probably knew this was going to happen since she already lived one timeline and that in itself is confusing why the hell wouldn't Bella tell her? Why wouldn't Bella open up about this situation when she was forthcoming about her powers and being from a future that might not happen ?

What was so important that she would gamble on their happiness? Those questions plagued Rosalie more than she was willing to admit. She knew the girl felt terrible about lying to her the first time. She saw her distraught face when she told her how broken she was after her death. So why couldn't she tell her this?

"Why are you hiding things Bella" not realizing she whispered the last question out loud —not even realizing that she went by herself anymore either.

"She thinks she's keeping you safe or everyone safe" spoke Alice. She felt sorry for her sister it was clear this entire situation has taken a bigger toll on her than she was willing to admit. Her usually pristine ringlets look disheveled from the amount of time she ran her fingers through it.

Rosalie startled at the new voice. She turning her head she saw her sister give her a sympathetic smile.

"Protecting me ? Everyone? How do you know?" She asked ignoring the fact that even though she had the best hearing of the family the sneaky pixie vampire still managed to get the metaphorical drop on her.

Alice shrugged , she knew Bella was hiding something but what she didn't know—her visions had been confusing about the girl, the recent one only showing James much clearer but nothing new. When she asked jasper whether he picked up anything from her emotions since the ordeal must've left her frazzled, her husband reported that Bella was as calm as always —she was either masking her true emotions or she really didn't feel scared. That in itself was bizarre why would a seemingly human girl not be afraid when a psychopathic red eye vampire want to hunt you? She herself was a vampire and had a gift of precognition but even then she still felt a healthy dose of fear. So why didn't Bella feel a thing?

She stared at Rosalie's profile a bit more before she turned her gaze to the woods.

"That's what I want to know too" she paused, pursing her lips she decided to take the plunge —something told her that Rosalie knew more than she was saying —either from her gift or the fact that her sister welcomed a human into the fold not even resisting much after their date.

That was suspicious —Rosalie was the one who would protect the family and wasn't one to not share her blunt opinion that humans weren't worth the trouble. Regardless of Bella being her mate—the blonde vampire had strong feelings about allowing a human to live their life as humanely as possible mate or not so the question is what changed?

"But more than that I want to know what you and Bella aren't telling the rest of us" she said into the silence. Rosalie opened her mouth to no doubt reflexively deny the accusation but closed it a second after.

"Your relationship hasn't been going on too long but rose I know you—I've spent centuries with you so I know just how strong your feelings are about having humans live their lives— and I know most of that is based on your own past"

"Don't" the taller vampires words cut through like a knife through butter. It was Cold and clear 'Leave my past where it belongs' was the message, Alice nodded quickly.

"Okay" she conceded " but you can't stop me or the family from knowing Rosalie, especially if it impacts all of us.

Your relationship with Bella is yours however, strained it might be now.

But I see the girl as a sister —she's already become my best friend so tell me Rose what are you hiding? Everything seems suspicious Jasper says he could barely feel anything from her well anything negative at least—she masks her emotions that it's even difficult for an empath to read. Edward can't read her mind which only adds fuel to the flames. But most of all? my visions surrounding her is fuzzy like she only wills me to see it —so I'll ask again Rose what the hell is Bella ? Is she even human?"

Throughout Alices rant all Rosalie wanted to do was laugh and deny everything —dismissing the fact that Bella was nothing but a normal human.

Instead She looks away from Alice as she speaks she was sure the entire family could hear their conversation but even though she was angry at the girl right now she still promised to keep what she was too herself. After all it wasn't even her secret to share.

The blonde vampire didn't want to be here, she knew she shouldn't be here discussing the current state of her mate.

Rosalie's mouth was drawn into a thin line contemplating her options, she wanted to leave —wanted to see her mate—the fact that she was in any type of danger just added to the urgency. Rosalie prided herself for having control over most of her emotions—not showing them on her face or wearing her dead heart on her sleeve, thats how she gained the moniker of Ice Queen after all.

But having a mate changed that much more than she liked—being with Bella was amazing, intoxicating and new even if they'd only been together for a short time, but being with Bella makes her decisions much more emotionally charged than she usually would allow— even if her mate was some kind of magical goddess it didn't erase the fact that she already died once or could very well die again if she made one mistake. That didn't bring the vampire any comfort.

Realizing she didn't answer Alices question she opened her mouth preparing herself. Settling with as most as she could share without betraying her mate even if it meant not being completely transparent with the people she's spent decades with. That hurt, not as much as losing a mate or fighting with her mate but it pained her —she built bonds with the Cullens was me with the wayward Edward so being forced to do this hurt...and she despised that Bella put her in this position at all—they were definitely going to have words once this entire mess was dealt with.

"It's not my secret to tell" she said firmly she cut her sister off before she managed to plead her case " but I will tell you that she means no harm to us —her leaving without any of us to protect her can attest to that."

"Where are you" she said into the phone , standing outside Bella's home , she smelled a unfamiliar scent lingering near the swans home.

The voice chuckled dryly on the other side "skipping hellos now too?" Rosalie scoffed, her patience was wearing thin—the fact that Bella wasn't home after 30 minutes of leaving the Cullens home gnawed on her already frayed nerves.

"I'd love nothing more than go tit for tat with my darling mate" she says, her words laced heavily with sarcasm she continues undeterred by the girls laugh.

"But the reason I called, is because right now I'm outside your home, you're not here nor is your father so I can only assume that you didn't come home after our disagreement— so Isabella where are you?"

Bella looked over to her father who was filing away the last bits of paper, preparing to leave the station.

She managed to convince (or magically compel) him to spend a few days on the reservation, besides she knew James and Victoria wouldn't be able to cross over without triggering the wolves.

Sighing softly "I'm with my dad, I managed to convince him to spend a few days with his friends on Res" she smiled politely to deputy Harris who greeted her.

She lowered her voice down to a whisper at the next part.

"This case has taken up a lot of his time and we both know the leads aren't going to get him anywhere. So they've decided to put it on the back burner for a while."

A beat of silence that accompanied understanding passed through the phone.

"And where will you be staying? Surely you won't be staying in your house by yourself?"

"That was the plan"

"Bella" said Rosalie exasperated, she felt something akin to migraine coming on.

"Why do you insist on facing this by yourself? You've got me , my family ready to fight at your side —why won't you let us" but really she wanted to say 'why won't you let me?'

Neither spoke for a while, Bella knew her decision to keep Rosalie out of this was a selfish one—she wanted to get her revenge on James herself. Not telling her about the events worked in her favor but the control she sought for was something she finally had ... but then the Cullens wanted to make decisions for her and she could feel it slipping away—she hated herself for being so selfish —hurting Rosalie just because she wanted to be the one to destroy James and not willing to give up any modicum of control she had.

Right now she acknowledged that her lover was holding out a olive branch it was up to her whether she was willing to take it and fight along the Cullens , along Rose or continue to try and control everything by herself. Her ancestors words echoed in her mind

'Love is strength'

"Okay" she said after a while.

"Okay?" Rosalie tried to keep the relief out of her voice.

"Yeah, I'll come to the Cullens once I drop my dad off on res"

"And will you be honest with me"

"Yes"

"Okay ... the boys will be running in the woods .. to keep our two guests away" said Rose.

"I'll see you soon peanut" she risked, she heard Rosalie give her a scoff.

"We're still going to be talking about that just so you know.."

"Are we okay?...us I mean" asked the brunette scuffing her feet on the linoleum floors of the station.

Rosalie stared at the backwoods with a frown, the question was innocent but phrased unsure, she heard the hesitance —a sense of longing went through her—she longed to promise they were fine but that would be a lie, she knew the enchantress and herself had things to work through, the needed an open line of communication before things would be 'okay' for them.

"Not yet No" Bella's face fell at the honesty.

"but it will be" said Rose after a second.

A tiny smile curled up on Bella's lips, she knew they needed to talk—needed to have a whole discussion —they both had things to apologize for but for now they were at least okay or on the way to being okay.

A/N guys I know this chapter will be iffy but we both know that our girls belong together. They both have issues —Bella more than she let on.

Also Alice finally talks about her suspicions, because like Bella's behavior is a major red flag

Anyways I hope it's okay
