Chapter 30: Bonding Transition

This story follows the events that happened after the following Steins;Gate titles. Steins;Gate, Steins;Gate OVA, and Steins;Gate 0. Also, there are situations from other Steins;Gate titles that inspired multiple events in this story.

So after a long while with work, I got some time to post this next chapter, but because of everything that has been occuring, I apologies for errors you find in this chapter and I will go back to correct them soon. I hope you enjoy in the end.

Inside the Future Gadget Laboratory, Kurisu and Okabe have arrived inside with the missing guest, Kagari Okabe. However, Kurisu and Okabe are a bit embarrassed currently after what happened outside between them, and with what Kagari said to Kurisu. But, they are currently trying to keep it hidden.

"Oh, you guys are back," says Mayuri. Then she notices Kagari. "Oh! Kagari-san! Tuturu!"

Kagari smiles. "Hello, Big Sis Mayu!" She runs up to her and hugs her tightly.

"Seems Kagari made it after all," says Maho with a smile. However, she notices something strange with Kurisu and Okabe. "But, are you guys ok?"

"W-What are you talking about?" Kurisu asks.

"You are strangely quiet and your face is sort of red."

"R-Really….? I-I wouldn't know for sure."

Okabe suddenly steps in with his persona. "I-It's because it really got cold outside! T-The northern winds have settled across this city to cause a freezing storm! Yes, that is it!"

Maho sighs. "That is clearly a lie. Well it is fine. I am more concerned on how we are going to tell Professor Leskinen, Tennouji-san and Nae-san about Kagari."

"Yeah," says Daru. "It would be bad if they found out Kagari-tan is from the future.

They all begin to think. It seems Kagari is smart enough and realizes now that she cannot go around saying she is from the future with Leskinen, Braun, and Nae currently around. However, how will they explain why she is here?

Suddenly, Leskinen stand up from his chair and becomes curious. "Say, who is this girl?"

Maho, Daru, Kurisu, and Okabe become scared.

"You guys never told me she was part of your laboratory. She is quite young too."

They get even more scared. Once Leskinen becomes curious, he won't stop wondering until he gets an answer he is satisfied with. They don't know what to do.

Fortunately though, Mayuri, Yuki, and Faris decide to step in as they have thought of something that they believe will help with the situation.

As time goes on and with Kagari finally here, the party begins. Every single person enjoys the food, all the talking and fun conversation they have together, and some of them play games that are set up to help make time become more enjoyable. Luka and Nae compete together in a fighting style video game and some of the lab members watch.

Okabe is currently sitting with Kurisu, Maho, Daru, and Leskinen. They have just finished enjoying the food they ate.

Leskinen however finishes drinking a cup of beer and talks about everything he was told. "Well, who would've thought Einstein and the famous female scientist known to the world would have a child just after entering adulthood. This is news beyond what I could think as a scientist!"

Okabe and Kurisu face turn away while red in embarrassment.

Leskinen puts his cup down. "So let me confirm this. The time you Kurisu came to Japan for a whole year in 2011, you expressed your love to Lintahlo, became charmed and had a good time together, that you then secretly gave birth to a child named Kagari?"

Kurisu really didn't want to answer the question as that is clearly a lie, but she had to play along to cover Kagari's true origins and she had to role play as a real biological mother. "Y-Yes….." she says with embarrassment.

"So then while you worked with me Kurisu, Lintahlo was mainly taking care of Kagari in Japan until he came to study at Viktor Chondria University. Then she was taken care of by your friend Mayuri in the meantime."

"Y-Yes….." says Okabe with embarrassment.

Leskinen smiles. "I'm shocked. I have more questions I want to ask because I don't know the whole story, but I can believe what you are saying is true. After all, Kagari clearly does have a reflection of Kurisu." There is a pause. "How old do you say she is?"

"10 years old." says Maho.

"Yes, that does make more sense with the timeline." There is a pause. "Then, this is amazing! The long-awaited spark of two favorite former students of mine has already occurred!" Then, Leskinen thinks about something that is important. "Wait, if you guys had a child already, then why aren't you both married yet?"

The question asked makes Kurisu and Okabe eyes open in worry. They completely forgot about that important detail, and only just got engaged together just moments earlier.

However, Kagari then comes up and speaks to Leskinen. "That is because Mama and Papa always struggle to show how much they care for each other. They are what Uncle Daru would call them tsunderes."

Okabe and Kurisu become more embarrassed. "H-Hey Kagari, what are you saying?! They both ask.

"W-Where did you learn that word?!" Okabe asks.

"D-Did Hashida teach you things that are too young for your age?!"

"Why are you thinking I taught her that…" says Daru with an emotionless tone

Kagari nods in disagreement however. "Nope. You guys taught me that word, and I researched it myself."

Hearing her say that makes Kurisu and Okabe stand still in shock. She was already able to do that herself without any help.

Leskinen couldn't believe what he just heard, so he laughs slightly. "Wow. Kagari already understands from observation and research. She is definitely your daughter alright." He then turns to her. "Say Kagari, you know your parents well. Did they tell you anything about how bold they were the night they decided to get down to business?"

Kagari became confused. "Huh? What do you mean by that?"

'Well…"

As Leskinen was getting ready to describe what he wanted to say, Maho suddenly whispers to Mr. Braun, and he just nods. Then, he grabs Leskinen by his coat and pulls him away from the group to another room.

Leskinen then turns to Maho and her face becomes quite scary. "We're going to have a talk about what you just asked a child and a very serious talk." she says.

"W-Wait! I was just curious!"

Leskinen is forced to leave by Mr. Braun and Maho, as they also leave the room.

Okabe and Kurisu finally calm down from the embarrassment and tension in the air to explain everything to Leskinen about Kagari and try to hide her identity. It so far worked and they probably won't need to say much more for now. However, now Kurisu becomes a bit upset at Mayuri, Yuki, and Faris. "You guys, why did you have to make that story up about me and Okabe?! That just made Professor Leskinen so much more attached to us!"

"What? Faris wonders. "We only told him the facts that will happen-nyan. We just didn't say in the future-nyan. Instead we told him that it already happened-nyan."

"Y-You guys need to be more considerate of how I feel about this too!" says Okabe with his persona. "I didn't agree to this at all!"

"Of course you didn't, but with Kagari here from the future tells us something that will happen," says Mayuri. "That means it wouldn't hurt to already state the facts that will occur in the future."

"Besides, don't you think with Leskinen knowing you guys have a daughter, it will help calm his curiosity?" says Yuki.

Okabe and Kurisu get a bit more intense. "But that just made him more curious than ever!"

"Well, maybe it is so he can tell everyone around him about how Hououin Kyouma, the greatest mad scientist of all time, has a daughter with the greatest female scientist of all time. Haven't you considered that?"

"A-" Okabe then realizes that what was just said may be something useful. "True…..with Professor Leskinen knowing about my life and legacy, he will spread fear to the world about my name and that I have a descendant who will succeed in my work."

But then, Kurisu gets another thought that overtakes Okabe's fanatical idea and becomes embarrassed. "T-That's not the point here! Don't you understand?! This whole thing means at some point, Okabe and I…..will…" There is a pause. "N-Nothing….. S-S-Stop messing around! Why does it have to be me and Okabe?!"

"S-S-S-Stop messing around! Why does it have to be me and my Assistant?!"

"You two say that, but the looks on your face say "Not like I wouldn't want to," nya." says Faris.

Okabe and Kurisu get more tense. "W-W-What are you saying?!"

Their tension however, then reveals FG12 they both have hidden from their coats. This gets Daru's attention. "Hold on, what do you guys have on your wrists?"

They wonder what they meant.

However, Faris quickly heads next to Kurisu to reveal the gadget she has on her left wrist. "Oh? This looks like Future Gadget Number 12: Darling You Idiot"

"That is true." says Mayuri

Kurisu and Okabe's faces become red as they have completely forgotten about having the gadget on them already because of what happened with Leskinen.

Then, Faris notices a ring on Kurisu's left hand that is on the ring finger. "Wait, why do you have a ring on your ring finger Kunnyan? This looks very clear and it looks like it is worth so much money-nyan."

Every lab member then turns to see the ring Kurisu has on, including FG 12 that is also on the same arm.

Next, one thing needs to be clarified. Daru walks up to Okabe and rolls up his right sleeve to reveal FG 12 also on his right wrist. "You have one too…" He says.

Okabe and Kurisu say nothing as they didn't want to reveal what happened earlier while they were outside waiting for Kagari to arrive. Unfortunately for them, their friends can always tell that something happened, and this time, the unexpected finally occurred.

They all realize at the same time, and they all say the exact same thing. "You guys are engaged?!"

Maho, Leskinen, and Mr. Braun come out of the room instantly to hear what they believe they just heard from the lab members. "Did I just hear you guys correctly?" Maho asks.

"Don't tell me you guys already gave each other your presents?!" Daru also asks.

There is a moment of silence as both Kurisu and Okabe really didn't want to say anything. However, they cannot hide it anymore, so they build up their confidence to speak, and manage to do so. "Y-Yea. We already gave each other our presents," says Okabe.

'M-My present to Okabe is an upgraded version of FG12, and his gift to me….. is this ring." says Kurisu.

Everyone looks at the ring very carefully as it is shiny and it looks very legit. It is a very delicate ring given by Okabe to Kurisu as they are now engaged together, committed to moving forward to getting married. "Wow!" Says Mayuri. "This is a dream come true! You guys are truly engaged!

"Congratulations!" Says all the lab members.

Kurisu and Okabe turn away in embarrassment as their friends finally are overjoyed for them. However, this makes them both smile at each other then as this makes them realize this is not a dream, but it is finally the real thing.

Leskinen suddenly jumps forth to Kurisu and Okabe with eyes of curiosity. "Well then, you're going to tell us the story of how it occurred right?"

"Yes, will you-nyan?" Faris asks with curiosity as well.

However, Maho knows they probably gave their presents to each other so they wouldn't have to do it in front of everyone else, otherwise they wouldn't have received the gifts from each other ever. "Everyone, we should relax, alright? We should just let them be for now. I am curious about how it all happened too, but we should let them relax after their possible climax. We should instead get prepared to open up presents."

Everyone looks at each other for a moment, before agreeing that is what they all should do next. So they all head back to finish eating and cleaning up the tables. Maho looks at Kurisu before turning away. "Kurisu, I meant what I said. I want to know everything, ok?"

Kurisu's face becomes red before responding. "O-Ok…"

Maho smiles and turns away to help the rest of the lab members.

Kurisu sighs as the intense moment between her and Okabe is over for now. She then turns to him. "Well, shall we help them?"

"You go on ahead. I need to use the bathroom. I will return shortly."

"Got it." Kurisu walks away to help Mayuri and Kagari with the plates.

Okabe then turns away as well to head to the men's restroom.

Inside the restroom, Okabe looks at himself in the mirror, takes in one deep breath and decides to make sure what just occurred in the last hour. First, Kurisu gave him an upgraded FG12 as a gift to remember the important things that occurred in the past with the same gadget when they were really stubborn towards each other. Then he remembers the intense moment of giving Kurisu the engagement ring to show he wants to marry her, and she accepted it with happiness. Lastly, thinks he must now play the biological father of Kagari Okabe with Kurisu Makise playing as the biological mother. This story has caused unneeded intensity for them, but it is necessary to hide Kagari's origin from Leskinen, Nae, and Mr. Braun.

However, everything is working in favor so far as this can make him one step closer to being with Kurisu more than ever and with more confidence. Now, with that in mind, he then thinks about how Kagari since recovering her memories has naturally called him Papa and, and how she calls Kurisu Mama, and without thinking twice about it.

Then with her origins in mind and with what Suzuha said about the future, he then decides to do something. He takes out his phone and dial a phone number.

Moments later, the phone picks up "Hello?" It's the future Suzuha.

"Hello, Suzuha." says Okabe.

"Oh, what's up Uncle Okarin?"

"Just like in the past, your arrival from the future brings a lot of problems for me. That is what I had to experience today."

Suzuha is confused. "Huh, what do you mean?"

Okabe sighs. "Listen, after thinking about everything that occurred up to now, and bringing Kagari into my life from the future, and after what you have said about the future, I have decided to follow your plan."

There is a pause as Suzuha's eyes widen. Okabe continues. "Everything I have learned makes me believe something is going on, that is the choice of Steins Gate. The fact that you didn't intervene much either is proof that you are trying to make me realize something I can't exactly understand yet."

"So, you have thought of this through now haven't you?" There is another pause. "Then you will fix the divergence meter, and only then, will I reveal to you the real reason I am here today."

Okabe sighs. "This would just be easier if you told me already, however I understand you have a reason so I won't say much more." He then puts on his persona "However! I want to ask something that is absolutely necessary, Part-Timer Warrior! This is needed for the understanding of the cosmos and for my knowledge!"

"W-What?" Suzuha asks with a small bit of cringe as she hasn't heard of that nickname in a long time.

December 30th, 2021

Over four days have passed since the huge Christmas party. Everyone enjoyed their time together as it is a party they will never forget. However, now they must head back to work as the new year will soon arrive. Faris and Mayuri are currently at Mayqueen Nyannyan working as usual in their maid outfits. Luka is currently at Urushibara Shrine and practicing his skills with the sword. Yuki is currently at home taking care of little Suzuha while dealing with financial calculations with Moeka. Maho and Daru are currently at the Future Gadget Laboratory working with the Interns as usual with future gadgets.

However, over at Mitsui Memorial Hospital, Okabe enters inside with eyes that show he is waiting for something. Who then appears next to him is Kurisu. She lets out a sigh as she is also the same way with some sort of concern. Then, it is revealed she is holding a hand, and it is shown to be Kagari. The three of them are here to check in to speak with a research expert who is part of the hospital.

Inside an office room, Okabe, Kurisu and Kagari sit on seats already next to the desk. Moments later, a research expert sits down and takes out papers from an envelope and skims through them. After a moment, he then hands them to Okabe and Kurisu to view themselves. After another moment of reading through, their eyes widened in complete shock.

The expert speaks up. "After taking in samples of your DNA from the both of you and from this young girl, it has been tested that you both are in fact the biological parents of Kagari."

As midday approaches inside the front lounge of the Hospital, Okabe and Kurisu sit in shock for a moment as they have found out Kagari is 100% their biological daughter.

Okabe thinks to himself. "So, Kagari is in fact my biological daughter, and Kurisu is her biological mother. That means it does happen in the future. That is what the Part-Time Warrior wanted to hide up until now. However, I wonder why…."

Kagari however starts to cry a bit. She is in fact more shocked than both Okabe and Kurisu are. She is very happy to find out she is the biological daughter of Kurisu Makise, but she is more overjoyed she is also the biological daughter of Rintaro Okabe.

"Kagari, are you alright?" Okabe asks.

She doesn't respond, but cries much more. She sheds tears of happiness and nothing else, which then makes her decide to hug Okabe tightly as she continues to express her happiness. "Papa…." she says.

Okabe doesn't know why she is crying, but he believes she is just happy to have heard they are her biological parents. So he hugs her tightly in return.

Then, she looks at Kurisu, and also hugs her. Kurisu blushes a bit as this was unexpected, but she smiles and hugs her as well.

For a moment, Kagari then remembers something from the timeline she came from. The reason she is crying with joy is because long ago for unknown reasons, all answers about her biological parents were always hidden or never answered. This especially applied to who her real father is.

Soon, Kagari stops crying and wipes her tears away, and returns to her original self. "So can we go and do stuff together?!"

"A-Are you sure?" Kurisu asks.

"Yep! I wanna be with Mama and Papa today!"

Okabe smiles, as he agrees today should be a day for them after hearing the greatest news ever. He takes out his phone and puts on his persona. "It is me. It would seem my valuable descendant has decided the next plan for Hououin Kyouma. No, reinforcements are not needed. Yes this is the choice of Steins Gate. El Psy-"

Kagari and Okabe then both say the same thing. "Kongroo."

Kurisu smiles after seeing a cute incident with Okabe and Kagari.

Throughout the day, Okabe, Kurisu and Kagari stay together, going through store after store to give Kagari a tour of how things were in the past. She constantly gets curious about stores with arcade games, retro games, and places popular with the upa toys.

Okabe mainly plays against Kagari in certain racing games and fighting games to show off how Hououin Kyouma is amazing. Kagari gets upset, but that quickly switches to amazement as she thinks her father is so cool.

She then laughs as she sees her mother and father fight over each other in the same games to show that Kurisu is up to par with Okabe, if not better. Okabe puts on his persona to hide his defeat against Kurisu and she decides to tease him back to how weak he is.

Then as late afternoon arrives, they decide to grab some lunch, and eat together with joy. Okabe gives Kurisu and Kagari Dr. Pepper which is what he calls the drink of the intellectual ones as they finish their meal.

Not long after, they decide to walk together as they take it easy after having higher adrenaline rush than normal.

Kurisu decides to speak up and start a conversation. "Today has been very surprising."

"That's true. I never thought Kagari w-would be…..o-our-"

"D-Daughter."

"Y-Yea….that."

There is a moment of silence. Okabe and Kurisu already feel weird talking about how Kagari is their biological daughter, but in the future. However, that doesn't deny that anything that will happen.

But then, Kurisu wanted to know something, something that only Okabe can express. "O-Okabe…. Do you…..like-"

Kagari then suddenly interrupts Kurisu's question. "Hey, do you think you both will be together more from now on?!"

"W-W-What do you mean?"

"Well, you both are engaged right? That means Mama and Papa can hang out together much more than ever! I wish for that."

It is embarrassing for Kurisu and Okabe to think about that. They never had a lot of time together even though they can now that they live near each other in the same city. However, they were always tsunderes towards each other to really express how they feel for each other.

But, with Kagari around and knowing who her real parents are in the future, Okabe believes now might be time to step it up and take the lead in a way so he can get closer to Kurisu. He puts on his persona and responds. "W-Well that is much more possible since I gave Kuristina the ring that represents full trust from Hououin Kyouma!"

Kurisu sighs while slightly blushing. "You can't really just express how you feel can you?"

"O-Of course I can!" Okabe then calms down a bit and turns to Kagari. "W-What do you wish for Papa and Mama to do, Kagari?"

"I wish for Mama and Papa to be together more than ever… I want to see you guys smile everyday and see happiness for each other, showing that you care for each other."

"Eh? I'm surprised you know about that stuff already," says Kurisu.

Kagari smiles. "I am observant, just like Mama and Papa."

Okabe then pats her in the head. "Seems you are." There is a pause as he turns to Kurisu and blushes. "W-Well. Kuristina, I t-think for the sake of our future daughter, we should listen to what she wants."

Kurisu then blushes as well. "Y-You think so?"

"Y-Yes." There is another pause. "R-Remember the promise I made to you a while back?"

Kurisu thinks for a moment as to what Okabe is referring to. Then she remembers it. "O-Oh you mean when I…...um… and the bed…."

Okabe nods. "Y-Yes. Houo-!" He then suddenly stops to correct himself. "No, it is time for Rintaro Okabe to fulfill the promise I made to you, b-but with a different approach!"

Night falls over the city of Akihabara. Everyone is home doing their night routine after a long day at work.

Over at the luxurious apartment, Kurisu has the lights on as she is in the kitchen, cooking up some dinner. She is also on the phone with Mayuri. "Y-Yea, I have everything here and ready for the time being."

"I see, then Mayushii is happy. You guys have finally decided after many years. Well then Mayushii will stay at the old lab for the time being since she understands why."

"Thank you Mayuri, for understanding."

Mayuri giggles slightly. "No worries, Mayushii hopes to hear great things until you decide the day of your wedding. Then, Mayushii expects even better things to happen."

"D-Don't get carried away. Okabe and I still have ways to go, but don't worry. I will tell you what happens." Suddenly, Kurisu hears knocking on the door. "Well I gotta go, but I'll talk to you tomorrow. See ya, Mayuri."

"See ya, Kuris-chan." They both hang up.

Kurisu that's a deep breath as she prepares to open up the door, and quickly does so. Who appears behind is Okabe and Kagari. "H-Hey, Kurisu." says Okabe.

"H-Hello, Okabe."

Kagari pops out from behind Okabe and hugs Kurisu with happiness. "Hello, Mama!"

She smiles at Kagari's arrival as well. "Hello, Kagari."

Okabe and Kagari settle down with their bags. It is revealed they are staying for the night at Kurisu's place. Okabe sets down his locket necklace on the desk and puts away his lab coat that he always wears. He helps Kagari set down her stuff and get organized, as Kurisu prepares dinner on the table.

"When you guys are done, come sit at the table. Dinner is ready." she says.

Okabe looks at Kurisu with suspicous eyes. "Eh? You cooked today? I question if it will be edible."

Kurisu gets a bit upset. "How dare you. I have gotten better since years ago. You are just trying to make my future daughter lose confidence in me."

"Heh. I only stated the facts from years ago. I wonder if I, Hououin Kyouma, can trust my Assistant in being fed properly."

"Why don't you try it yourself then. It is a flatbread with meat and cheese. Nothing too much but it should get you through the night."

Kagari and Okabe sit down and look at the food Kurisu made. It is something they have never seen before. It looks like something from another country. Okabe wonders if he will be alright eating it. However he then looks at Kagari picking it up, and taking a bite out of it. In a few seconds, Kagari's face becomes overjoyed with flavor. "Oh! This is so good! I have never tasted something like this before!"

"Right?" says Kurisu with a smile. "I learned to make this while I was in America. Your Big Sis Mayuri even helped me get it right."

Okabe then decides it is all or nothing. He cuts the food a bit to get a slice and takes a slow bite. He takes a bit of time to get the real taste of the food Kurisu made. Soon enough, Okabe starts to cry with how good it tastes. "N-No way…...T-This unexpectedly good…"

Kurisu smiles while blushing. "I told you. You were just overreacting."

Okabe then takes out his phone and puts on his persona. "It's me! It seems I am tasting yet another illusion of edible food here. What, this is part of reality?! Well, if this is the choice of Steins Gate. El Psy Kongroo!" He puts away his phone.

"You really just can't express how good my food is."

"Well, it is not bad, but you must do better! Hououin Kyouma has a very delicate stomach that needs food with the taste like it was given by God himself to be fully energized and ready to counter the enemy organization!" Okabe then sets aside his persona. "However, this is better than what I thought. Good job, Assistant."

Kurisu smiles but sighs. "I'm not your assistant idiot."

A couple of hours later, and it is almost time to sleep. Kurisu just finished making a little bracelet for Kagari so she can wear it. It had small icons of upas on it. Okabe is currently putting away papers after going through some research about the teleportation project and divergence meter that will need more attention. However, now is not the time to be focused on them.

They all put everything away, and eventually get changed into pajamas. Kagari then jumps on the bed with a smile. "Yay, I'm going to sleep with Mama and Papa tonight!"

Okabe and Kurisu blush as this is a night they didn't expect.

"Thank you, Mama and Papa, for today. I had more fun today than I ever did back in the future."

"Is that so?" Kurisu asks. "Well, Mama is glad you had a fun time. I'm sure y-your P-Papa did too. R-Right, Okabe?"

"Y-Yeah. I'm glad you did just like your M-Mama did."

Eventually, Kagari sleeps and it is now midnight. However, Okabe and Kurisu are still awake, sitting next to each other on the front bed. They have a long moment of silence, but now is the best chance to get something out of their chests.

"D-Did you have fun today, O-Okabe?"

"Y-Yes. Today is a day I will never forget."

"I-I see….." Kurisu then blushes as she wants to say something else. "H-How about finding out Kagari is…...o-our…...daughter?"

Okabe gets a bit shocked. "H-Huh? W-Why would you ask that?"

Kurisu didn't want to say what she wanted next, but she knows this is the only chance to understand how he really feels. "I-I mean your the future biological father, and….I'm the future biological mother….. You know what t-that means…...right?"

Okabe blushes as he knew exactly what she meant. He didn't want to respond, but he knows he cannot back down, not when he wants to get closer with his relationship with Kurisu. "W-Well that is in the future….but…...I-I felt happy."

Kurisu's eyes widened in shock.

"I honestly wanted a daughter whether or not the child is related to me by blood or not. However, finding out that Kagari is my future biological daughter and you are her future biological mother made me more happy than ever. The woman I came to love has a future daughter with me that represents how far our relationship is able to go. That is already more than enough for me to commit much more than I ever thought I could."

Kurisu blushes for a moment with the words Okabe was saying, but then she smiles. "So you thought ahead already on this. I am surprised." There is a pause. "To be honest, I was glad to find out we are her biological parents too. You are the only man…..I came to love. Because of that, I was already dedicated to taking care of her alongside you, even if she is from the future. She is like you said, the symbol of how our love for each other becomes to be in the future. I wanted to protect her already because of that."

"Already thinking like a mother. That is sure strange to hear from you, Kurisu."

"The same goes for you, Okabe"

Then, Okabe pulls Kurisu next to him and decides to kiss her on the lips. Kurisu gets shocked by this, but she smiles and enjoys a good kiss on the lips from her future husband. Eventually, they stop and say something else. "Well, you know what that means, right?" Okabe asks.

"Regardless of Kagari being from the future, we as her future parents are responsible for her safety, right?

"That is correct."

There is a pause. "Then, let's sleep," says Kurisu. "Starting tomorrow, we are 24/7 committing to taking care of her regardless of the outcome."

Okabe and Kurisu tuck in bed, and face towards Kagari who is sleeping straight up between them. Okabe and Kurisu then close their eyes as the day comes to an end, but not before the scene zooming out to see Kagari, hugging both Okabe's and Kurisu's plushies they gave each back in July of 2021.
