Ch 30 Into the Flames

Flames engulfed the entranceway to the dungeons, many of the students were able to get out in time however there are a few left inside. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry…" Penelope Fawley apologies to the Headmaster, her face was covered in ashes and a few burs on her arms.

"Professor Fawley now isn't the time for apologizing," Dumbledore stated, looking around his injured students. "We have pressing matters to attend to." He looks at the wall of flames being blocked by Ishtar's Magecraft.

Ishtar placed Lapis Lazuli around the four corners of the hall, blocking the fire from spreading across the school. "Glad you thought of that, Archer," Ereshkigal commented on her sister's quick thinking.

"Well, it's what Fujimaru would've done here." The Goddess responded to her sister; she looks behind her seeing the injured students who made out from the flames. "I still can't believe that incompetent woman would add Pyrite to a highly flammable concussion." She glares at Penelope still with the Headmaster.

Ereshkigal nodded, a common knowledge throughout Mages. "A sediment that contains both the Earth and Fired element, one that should be handle with care." She added,

Waver walks up to the two Goddesses, scratching his hair. "By the root, this is a huge mess." He sighs looking around at the damage that one simple mistake would cause this damage. "I took the liberty in calling Mr. Longbottom and Berserker for Medical care, and the Heart Brigade for search and rescue." He informed the Goddess.

They nodded before hearing a panicked voice behind them. "JAMIE!? JAMIE ARE YOU HERE!?" Lily looks around the crowd of students for her youngest son. "JAMIE, WHERE ARE YOU!?" She called out, worried for him.

"Lily, what's wrong?" James grabs hold of his wife's shoulders.

Lily looks at her husband's eyes, tears running down her cheeks. "I-It's Jamie, I don't see him anywhere." She cried for her son.

James looks around, getting all worried. He rushed over to where the translucent wall, "JAMIE!" He almost touched the wall before being stopped by Muramasa. "LET ME GO! MY SON IS IN THERE!"

Muramasa held onto an irrational James tight, trying to prevent him from doing anything reckless. "James, you're not thinking clearly. If you go in there you'll be injured in the process."

"I don't care, my son is there." James looks at the Pseudo-Servant, his eyes determined to save his youngest son. He won't allow another of his children to perish on his watch. "I won't allow another incident like Harry's to happen again!"

Lily covers her mouth, fearful that she'll lose her other son in the blazing fire. "Oh, Jamie-"

"Hmpf, it was wise for you to call the Heart Brigade Caster," Everyone looks behind them, they saw a plump blonde man in an expensive-looking suit. Behind him was a group of white and black-uniformed men, their faces were covered in ski masks and guns in hand.

"W-Who are you?" Lily asked the mysterious man before her.

Goldolf huffed upon seeing Lily, "So you're Lily Potter's doppelganger, no surprises here." He looks at the injured students in the hall, a sympathetic look was written across his face. "Medical Head Berserker, Assistant Medic Longbottom, tend to the wounded here. I want them to transfer to the Nurse's office for proper treatment." Neville and Nightingale went over to the students assisting those who are injured.

Dumbledore saw Neville but shook his mind from the shock of seeing him as a Muggle doctor and place the most pressing matter in front. "Anyone who's able to walk pleases heads to the Nurse's office to be treated, help those who cannot help themselves." He orders ever

James and Lily's eyes widen, Neville in a doctor's outfit and a stethoscope around his neck. "Neville? What are you-"

Neville rushed over to a student; her arm is severely burned by the fire. "Third-degree burns, hey can you walk?" He asked the young Gryffindor girl.

The girl looks at Neville, not entirely there but she heard his question. "Y-Y-" She fell out of consciousness. Neville checks her pulse on her wrist before the neck before turning around.

"Guys I need this one transferred to the office right away!" Neville called for extra assistance from the Chaldean Soldiers around him. One went over, picking the young girl in a princess hold.

"Mr. Longbottom, assist me with this one here," Nightingale called for her apprentice over, need his help with her patient. "This one has multiple third and second-degree burns. Handle with care, Mr. Longbottom,"

Neville obliges to his mentor/protector's call. "Yes, Berserker." He replied, taking one arm gently as possible leading him to the Nurse's office.

Goldolf looks around the hall, only a few of the Chaldean Soldiers were left. A perfect number for a rescue team. "Excuse me," the Magus looks at Lily ad James, walking up to him.

"Yes?" Goldolf huffed, "What can I do for you?"

"Um, you haven't told us who you are?" Lily asked the plump man. "As much we're grateful of you helping our injured, you appearing like this is offsetting." She stated her concerns about this mysterious man and strange soldier's purpose here.

James stood next to his wife, protecting her from these people he has no knowledge of. "Can I ask why was my Godson was with you people? He was supposed to bed with Ritsuka's class about now-"

"Goldolf, what are you doing here?" Ritsuka arrived with his Servants behind him.

"Ah, Fujimaru I received an urgent message from Lord El-Melloi II about a fire within the school," Goldolf explained his reason for being here to his former employee. Ritsuka eyed Waver who looked away from his eyes. "As your former director, I came to see if my expertise is needed."

Ritsuka sighs before Dumbledore steps into the conversation. "In any case, any help is much appreciated, Mr. Musik." He was grateful for him showing up in a time like this.

Goldolf smirks, puffing out his chest all proud. "I see that Fujimaru has talked about me, as much I love the complement Dumbledore, but now it isn't the time." He looks at the blocked hallway, still smirking with confidence. "We have children to save!"

"What a way of words Goldolf." Ritsuka sighs, hearing his other Servants groans at the Magus's wording.

Gawain sighs at the wrong wording the former director used. "That went down way fast." He shook his head.

"S-Shut up!" Goldolf blushed before clearing his throat, getting serious. "Fujimaru, this side mission is a dangerous one, you're up to it?" The former director of Chaldea looks at his successor.

James steps in, already know what they're going to do. "Wait a moment, this is risky Ritsuka." He looks at Goldolf, his eyes filled with concern with this plan. "I can't allow this plan to go forward."

Goldolf looks at James, understanding how he feels in this. "I understand where you're going son, but Fujimaru and these soldiers have been trained to undergo many dangerous situations." He supports his plan, giving the concerned father some insurance this will succeed.

"It doesn't matter what training Ritsuka has gone under, it's the situation itself!" James exclaims, supporting his view on this. "Any situation is unpredictable, he might as well go and die in there-"

"James, this plan is the best that Mr. Musik brought up," Dumbledore explains to his worried student. "I understand that this brought out some feelings about the day Harry died, but-"

James turns to Dumbledore, after hearing what he said. "This doesn't concern Harry's death, right now I believe-"

"What choice do we have, James," Lily interjects into the conversation. "We are wasting time by arguing when our son is still trapped inside the fire!" The worried mother points at the inferno being blocked. She looks at Ritsuka, still having second thoughts but pushed them back in her mind. "Can you save Jamie, Ritsuka?" She asked her 'son', leaving her son's fate in his hands,

"Yes," Ritsuka responded, he looks at Waver, Ibuki, and Ishtar. "Caster, Archer, Saber you're with me." he turns around to the loyal soldiers he personally hired for this exact situation when it comes to it. "The rest of you, follow me into the fire. Your objective, find any survivors and bring them out!"

"SIR!" The team readies themselves in front of the barrier.

Ritsuka was about to head forward when James grabs his arms. "Ritsuka, allow me to go with you." James offered his service.

"JAMES NO!" Lily begged of him not to go.

"Lily, this is me ensuring myself that my sons are safe by going in with them," James informed his wife, pleading his case to the Magus.

Ritsuka thought for a moment before looking at Muramasa. "Gramps, do you have a cloth on you?" He asked the Saber.

Muramasa took out a cloth he used in the kitchen from his satchel on his right hip. "Sure, here Kid. But what for?" The Blacksmith handed him the white fabric to his master. He watched him holding it in his hands, with his other hand he inscribe a rune on the cloth.

"ᛈᚱᛟᛏᛖᚲᛏ " The runes glowed on the cloth, enhancing it to protect anyone who used it.

Everyone who didn't see Magecraft at work was in awe at the wandless magic. Dumbledore was speechless, never in his life had he seen Magecraft before, just rumors and stories from the Ministry "Fascinating, never in my lifetime that I would witness Magecraft at work," He said watch Ritsuka hand James the enchanted cloth, taking another one liked it from his pockets.

"What is this?" James asked, examining the enchanted cloth that was given to him.

Ritsuka tied the cloth around his mouth and nose before looking at his 'father'. "I placed a protection rune on this cloth, so the smoke won't get into your lungs." He explains to his 'father' what he did. "If you want to save Jamie then you must consider your safety first before going in unprepared and met with difficulties."

James nodded, understanding what the master means. "Got it." he tied the cloth around his face, walking where the soldiers are waiting.

"We'll stay here, waiting for your return," Dumbledore informed the group of their plan.

Muramasa nodded, agreeing with Dumbledore. "We'll get everyone out if the situation changes kiddo." He smirks.

"Yes, you can count on us Fujimaru." Ereshkigal smiles, the other Servants gave their master moral support wishing him luck inside.

"Be careful, master," Bedivere told his master, worried for him.

Ritsuka chuckles walking towards the shield.

Lily held James's hand, bring it close to her face. "Bring our son safe, James." She begs of the love of her life.

James kissed her hand, keeping his promise to her. "I will just wait." He walks next to Ritsuka and his allies.

"Good luck, Fujimaru." Goldolf wishes for his success.

The Magus smiles before turning to the hall. "Archer, open the way in," Ritsuka orders the Goddess of Venus to make a path through the bounded field.

"You got it, Fujimaru." Ishtar snaps her fingers, opening a small doorway in the field. The intense heat came rushing out, causing everyone who's not protected or a Servant to cover their faces.

"Remember find anyone and take them out of the heat!" Ritsuka relayed their orders once more to his subordinates.

"Yes, director!"

"Alright, let's go!" They rushed inside the inferno as Ishtar closes the entrance behind them, preventing any fire out into the hall.

Their mask and suit were able to prevent the flames from touching their skins. "Director, I suggest we should split up, cover more ground if we do it that way." A soldier suggested to his boss.

"He's right, director." Another soldier seconded that request from his fellow soldier.

Ritsuka thought for a second before answering. "You're right, divide and conquer everyone." He orders his soldiers. "Archer, Caster go with one group and stay with them."

Ishtar understood what her master was planning, "Got it Fujimaru. We'll meet up here later after we're done." She dodges falling debris before she goes with her group.

Waver swung his fan, creating a gust of winds that revealed a pathway. "We'll take this route, master." He turns to the three soldiers behind him, prepared. "Alright, follow me, men! You know your orders!"

"Yes, Lord El-Melloi II!" The soldiers responded, following the Caster into the fire finding any survivors.

Ritsuka covers his face, feeling the heatwave from the fire coming in the direction they're heading. "James! Where's the Potion Lab?" he asked his 'father'.

"Right in front of us, this hall will lead us where the lab is located." James points down the path they're heading.

"Alright, let's get going. Saber." Ritsuka orders Ibuki, seeing the flames blocking their path.

"Fine," The Oni shrugs, her tail glowed a blueish-green. She rushes at the flames, slashing at it diagonally clearing a path. "Hey master, do I get a treat if I do good?" she smirks at the human commanding her.

Ritsuka waves at her, appreciating what she's doing. "Later, Saber right now we need to focus here."

Ibuki shrugs, she looks up and saw a boulder falling on James. "Human! Dodge!" She shouted at her master's 'father'.

"Huh?" James looks up seeing the falling rocks, he wasn't quick enough to draw his wand to protect himself. Ibuki ram into him, pushing him to the side.

James fell on the floor, looking at the Oni slash through the rocks. "Are you alright?" Ritsuka asked, helping him up to his feet.

"Y-Yes, thank you, Saber." James thanked the Servant who just saved his life. "I appreciate that you saved me there." He smiles at her way.

Ibuki scoffs, crossing her arms. "Don't start thinking that I saved you out of the goodness of my heart human." The Oni waved her hand, still disliking any human she comes across. "I was simply next to you, and the rocks were falling. Now let's find that child and get out of here." She floats away forward into the flames.

James looks at Ritsuka, then at the Oni. "What's her problem? Was she always like this or-"

"I can't per se, she has a disliking to humans, acting on desires to fight." Ritsuka shrugs, remembering Ibuki from the Heian Kyo Lostbelt. "But when it comes to it, she's a reliable ally to have. Just make sure you have some sweets on hand to give." He jokes about her loyalties.

James chuckles a bit, hearing what his 'son' has to say. "You say that it was her drive."

"A child is still a child, no matter how odd they may look." Ritsuka sighs before moving forward with James.

The more the trio delves into the flames, the more intense the heat is. Ibuki was able to dismiss the fire with her attacks, only for them to return little by little. "Who would've thought a simple rock would cause this much damage and fire."

"Pyrite is a dangerous sediment for Magecraft if used not properly," Ritsuka explains, avoiding the fire on his side. "My mentor explained that to me when I was first learning of the elements that some sediments possess."

James smirks, using his wand to push away some supports beams out. "That could've been useful to know before. But the Ministry's view on education is limited," He said to him. "You mentioned your mentor a few times before, I quite curious about who he might be?" James asked his son.

"I hate to interrupt master," Ibuki interjected, arriving in an increase of fire in the area. "I believe we're here." The door was barricaded by rocks and beams.

"I'll try to clear the way-" James halted seeing Ibuki already on the case.

"HA!" Ibuki opens her arms, letting a ray of lighting blast through the debris opening a path inside

James groans, seeing the door closed the handle was melted into liquid from the flames. "Dammit, what now?" He cursed seeing there's no way inside the Potion lab.

Ritsuka raised his hand, into a gun formation. "schießen," a single red gem shot the doorknob off the door. he kicks open the door, opening a way inside the room.

"Nice thinking, Ritsuka." James enters the flaming room in search of his son. "JAMIE! WHERE ARE YOU!?" He called out for his son in the burning room.

They all looked around for the red-haired boy, "He might be in there-" the fire intensifies from the broken glass separating the three. Ritsuka on the other side and Ibuki and James on the other. "James, are you alright?" he called out for his 'father' if he's there.

"Yeah, we're safe."

"Master, the fire is blocking us to get to you," Ibuki shouted from the other side of the firewall. "We'll try to get to you, but it'll take some time. The fire is stronger than the others." She explains to her master.

James agreed, taking his wand out. "She's right, go and find Jamie. We'll catch up." He aims his wand and the flames and starting to use the water spell. "Aguamenti!" a small stream of water erupts from his wand, pouring on the fire.

Ibuki's tail glowed the same bluish-green hue and slashed through the fire. She keeps doing this process until the fire will go out.

Ritsuka watch them putting out the firewall, he understands what they want him to do. "I understand, see you soon." He got up, running to a storage room thinking Jamie is hiding there.

Ritsuka enters the flaming storage room, surprised at how large it was. "This is difficult than I initially thought." He said to himself before yelling in the room. "JAMIE ARE YOU IN HERE!? ANSWER ME IF YOU'RE HERE!?" he treads forward, passing many broken cabinet doors.

"JAMIE! ARE YOU-" In the corner of Ritsuka's eyes he saw a faint figure in a brown trench coat standing over a body. A faint glow was coming from the figure. "JAMIE!" Ritsuka rand towards them, the figure turns around before dematerializing.

'A Servant? What is a-' As he ran over to his 'brother' another figure was standing near the intersection between the path he was on and the other side. "What the…" Ritsuka walks back seeing what that figure was only for it to be gone.

Ritsuka shook it off, turning back to save his 'brother'. When he was about to turn to Jamie he sensed someone behind him, he quickly turns around ready to shoot whoever it was. "N-No…it…it can't…" His eyes, widen at the sight before him. (Insert Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel II Lost Butterfly OST "The Butterfly Emerge")

The figure was standing behind him, still amongst the fire. She wore a black and orange jacket, a white skirt dressed underneath her jacket. "O-O-"

The woman gave a sad look, a face that was etched in his mind forever as long he lives. "Fujimaru…I die, and you didn't save me, you hesitated…" the woman said to the young director. "You abandon me to die in Chaldeas. Letting her take over my body."

"N-No, t-there's n-nothing I could d-do." Ritsuka lowered his hand, his eyes filled with regret. "T-The situation was o-out of my-"

"You keep saying that…Fujimaru." The woman said to him, she looked up at him. her lips curled into a smile, "Now your actions have turned me into this." She morphed into a familiar being, a being that he thought he'd defeated a long time ago.

"I-It w-wasn't my fault…it wasn't, please under-"

The woman smirks down at him, "Understand? I understand perfectly Fujimaru…but that doesn't change what has happened." The woman-no Beast answered the Magus. "This is on you, for me becoming Beast VII, the Alien God, U-Olga Marie." She smirks down, feeding off his fears and regrets.

Ritsuka held onto his head, he can't move, he can't even defend himself. "N-No, I-I didn't-"

"Yes, you did, Ritsuka." A deep voice came next to him. Ritsuka looks to his side, a man with long blonde hair stood amongst the fire.

"K-K-"

Kirschtaria stood in the fire, his chest was bleeding out, a drip of blood flows down his lips. "Not only you failed in saving Olga-Marie, but you have also killed billions of lives." He said to him. "Your hands are stained with the blood of the innocents, Ritsuka."

Ritsuka closed his eyes, gripping his hair. "T-Those Lostbelts aren't supposed to exist, you know that-"

"I did, but still killed those who you've befriended." Kirschtaria added, "Patxi, Gerda, the boy, Asha, Adele, Makiolos, and many more who you've met in the Lostbelts. Lives you have taken from your actions," he said to the young director.

Ritsuka didn't speak, he knew what he was doing before, and regrated it when Russia fell. "I'm sorry, I had to for my world. You know it, Kirschtaria very well." He retorted back.

U-Olga moves forward to him. "And yet you ended their lives."

Ritsuka burst into tears, forgetting what he came in here for. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry…" words that he kept repeating, ignoring what's going around him.

The shadow below Ritsuka started to form when the door burst open. "RITSUKA!"

"MASTER!"

James and Ibuki barrage inside the supply room. James saw two figures; their appearance sends out authority and respect. "Oh no," he saw the broken cabinets, probably from the blast. "Boggarts." The wizard looks at Ritsuka, the fear and regrets were getting to him. he saw his other son behind him, unconscious from the looks of it.

James shook his head, for his 'son' now needs him the most. "RITSUKA! Those are just illusions created by the Boggarts! You must face you're fears and overcome-Wait!" He reached out to the Oni, rushing to save her master from their trickery.

Ibuki gritted her teeth, the Boggart U-Olga and Kirschtaria turns around; morphing into what the Oni feared. Their forms didn't change, for what they faced is a creature greater than them. "Die!" she clawed U-Olga.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" The Boggart dissipate from the claws of the Oni.

The Boggart posing as Kirschtaria steps back, witnessing his fellow Boggart been killed. "What is-GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!" Ibuki rammed into him before slicing him in half with her tail. (End song)

James over to Ritsuka, trying to help him. "Ritsuka, you're okay. You're okay." He patted the Magus's back while he kept saying he was sorry.

Ibuki floats over to her master, taking his arms. "I'll get him out of here, he needs to rest." She informs the Wizard. "Take care of your son,"

James nodded, rushing over to Jamie sighing in relief seeing him breathing and alive. He picks him up and walks over to the Servant. "Let's get going." He looks at Ritsuka, still frozen in fear.

"Can you place a sleeping charm on master?" Ibuki asked the Wizard, eyeing her master's condition. "He needs rest after going through that thing."

James understood, taking his wand aiming at Ritsuka casting the Bewitched Sleep spell at him. Ritsuka went into a limp, falling out of consciousness in the Oni's arms.
