Chapter 30: Gym and Aquarium
Those who are wet because of the Soak are now at the Aquarium, which is also the gym where Reisa and Reshow battle the others. As they are cleaning, Cilan notices a moving soap Pokemon and he is surprised.
"That is a Slisoap, I know why you are surprised, since you wouldn't see it before." Reshow says.
Slisoap: The Slippery Pokemon: Water and Normal Type. This Pokemon can create a lot of bubbles while moving, those who step on it without caution will slip and fall.
Cilan is amazed at this Pokemon and he captures it in the end.
After they are done cleaning themselves up, they decide to explore the Aquarium. Bonnie looks around all the tanks and says, "Wow...there are a lot of Water Pokemon here..."
"You are right." Dawn says. "This place really is amazing."
"Are those golden Magikarps?" As the others are trying to suspect that Lana is telling jokes again, the sight of the Golden Magikarp catches their eyes and they all watch them in awe.
"It really is...how does this place have a lot of those rare Pokemon..." Crasher Wake says.
"And there is a Kyogre, too!" Misty says as they see a giant blue whale like Pokemon hovering above the sea tunnel.
Ash smiles at them and says, "It seems like all of you have enjoyed this place."
Wallace says, "This place has every Water Type Pokemon in the world, except for Palkia of course."
"That is awesome." Max says. "But where is the Gym Battlefield? I want to get my badge already."
"Don't worry, we are almost there." Reshow says.
As they get to the middle of the tunnel, which is a dome-like appearance. Reshow then presses the button, causing the battlefield as well as the swimming pool appear with some glass covering it.
"There is a battlefield, too?" Merlon asks in awe.
"Why yes." Mark says. "After all, this is not only an aquarium."
Resho says, "Mark is right, this is actually where people come and gain their badges."
Tierno says, "Believe me when I say that Reshow is strong."
Trevor says, "Reisa is also the same as well."
"Then I am getting really excited." Bonnie says as she is going first by battling Reisa.
Reisa then takes out a Pokeball and sends out the Water Type Arceus like Pokemon.
Splaceus: The Water Alpha Pokemon: Water Type. It is born from the Splash Plate, Splaceus can use the Water type power given by Arceus.
"So this isn't an Arceus?" Misty asks.
"Yes. Each Gym Leader and Elite 4 has one that will be the referee." Ash says.
As Bonnie and Reshow stand beside the field, Splaceus says, "The battle between Gym Leader Reisa and challenger Bonnie is about to begin, each trainer can use up to 6 Pokemon, when one side lost all the Pokemon, the other side wins. In this gym battle, Mega Evolution, Z moves, Dynamax, Star Badges, and Warrior Weapons can be used once in a battle."
Reisa says, "Now, here is my first Pokemon. Lapras!"
As the Pokemon appears, Bonnie says, "Dedenne, I'll save you for last."
Dedenne nods and Bonnie takes out a Pokeball. "Alright. Hiport! Come on out!"
As the exercising Pokemon appears, Professor Oak says, "A fighting type. Good choice for an Ice type like Lapras."
"But I won't say that Bonnie will easily win." Wallace says.
"Now let the battle begin!" Splaceus says.
"Alright. Blizzard with Shadow Ball!" Reisa says as Laprad gives the first damage to Hiport.
"Hiport, hang in there and use Quick Attack! When you get close, use Force Palm!"
Hiport then does what she says and also gives Lapras some damage. Then after some exchange attacks, Lapras uses Perish Song before it faints.
"Lapras is unable to battle, Hiport is the winner." Splaceus says.
"Alright. One down, two to go." Bonnie says.
At the same time, the outside of the Aquarium, Champion Diantha has brought the Electric Type Leaders, such as Lt. Surge, Wattson, Volkner, Elesa, Clemont, and Sophocles to the Aquarium.
"What do you know, it looks like the battle is going on." Lt. Surge says as they see the TV.
"Indeed. A gym battle, too." Diantha says.
Clemont then sees who the challenger is and then says, "Is that Bonnie?"
"Your sister?" Sophocles asks. As they look closer, Clemont says, "Yes. It is her, I never thought that she would be doing Gym battles here."
"Maybe we should go watch them." Elesa says as they walk towards the field.
"Here is my second Pokemon. Blastoise!" Reisa says.
Reisa then Gigantamax her Pokemon, much to Bonnie's shock. But Bonnie says, "Then we will try out something else! Hiport, Mega Evolve!"
Hiport starts to glow, it now has some kind of rocket boots on his leg as its ability changes into Levitate. But after using a Force Palm at the Gigantamax Blastoise, Hiport then faints. Bonnie says, "Oh no! I forgot the Perish Song!"
Dawn says, "Too bad for Bonnie."
"Yeah." Ash says.
"Now Perfumouse! I choose you!" Bonnie says as she sends out the second Pokemon.
Perfumouse then uses Sweet Scent to distract Blastoise, before Blastoise can use Hydro Cannon, it is defeated by Bonnie's Z move, Bloom Doom.
"Well, that is great. But now you are going to face the hard one." Reisa says as she stands into the field, Bonnie says, "The Warrior Task is here..."
"I still can't believe Reisa is going to battle her Perfumouse on her own..." Misty says.
"You'll get used to it in the end." Ash says.
As Perfumouse is being damaged by the attacks that Reisa is using, in the end, it is defeated by the Bug Move: X Scissors.
"Well, I guess it can't be helped. I'll battle you myself!" Bonnie says as she jumps into the field.
Meanwhile, the Electric Type leaders and Diantha have arrived at the field, Clemont is shocked that his sister now fighting against Reisa with weapons in her hand, Reisa is doing the same and he almost got a heart attack.
Bonnie has been struggling since Reisa is much stronger than her as she is skilled, but her attitude of never giving up causes her to overpower Reisa and eventually, she manages to knock down her Cross on her hand.
"Well done, now here is my fourth Pokemon." Reisa sends out a Milotic next, and as the Beautiful Pokemon appears, Bonnie is so into her beauty as the Blizzard knocks out her weapon.
"Bonnie, you shouldn't space out in a battle like this." Lillie says, and Bonnie gets back to her senses, and then she sends out a Flousic. After the two exchanging their attacks, Reisa takes out a Z Crystal and she yells, "Hydro Vortex!"
The Milotic starts to do a tornado, but Bonnie isn't going to give up as she has Flousic also uses Bullet Seed in the tornado. In the end, both Pokemon fainted at the same time.
"Bonnie is quite good at this gym battle." Max says.
"I agree." Konomi says.
"Here is my fifth Pokemon. Greninja!" Reisa says as the Pokemon appears.
"Then Gardebed, I choose you!" Bonnie yells as the bed Pokemon appears.
As they clash with each other, Bonnie uses the Dynamax to make it stronger, it hurts Greninja with a powerful Max Overgrowth.
"Are you okay, Greninja?" Reisa asks as it nods. "I guess it is time for me to show our true power. Let's go! Greninja!"
Greninja nods as it and Reisa become to sync. Greninja then starts to have red lines on his body and the giant blue shuriken on its back.
"Ash-Greninja?!" Bonnie and Serena exclaim.
"Oh, right. The Battle Bond ability." Ash says. "Like Flora, she can use it, too."
"Wow..." Misty says, "I never thought that she could do that."
At the Electric Specialists group, those who didn't know are amazed at the sight of the battle.
"I thought Ash is the only one who can do that..." Clemont says.
"That gym leader is quite strong indeed." Volkner says with a nod.
In the end, both Gardebed and Greninja faint at the same time despite Reisa using the Water Star Badge and Greninja throwing the mega shuriken at the bed, but Gardebed also uses Leech Seed to suck out its health time after time.
"Now for my final Pokemon, it will be Kyogre!" Reisa says as the Pokemon appears.
"Kyogre?" The Hoenn natives are shocked.
Bonnie says, "Oh wow...then Dedenne! I trust you!"
As the match starts, Reisa shows the Blue Orb and says, "Kyogre, return to your Alpha form!"
Then Kyogre glows and becomes its primal form, it's ability causes the waves in the pool splashing, but with the glass, the bystanders aren't affected.
As Dedenne being hit by the Origin Pulse, it almost falls into the pool, but Bonnie manages to cheer it up and use the Normal Star Badge, then it manages to defeat Kyogre with the Super Effective Giga Impact.
"Kyogre is unable to battle, Dedenne wins, which means that Bonnie is the winner." Splaceus says.
"Great job, Dedenne!" Bonnie hugs her Pokemon, and Reisa sighs as she lost fair and square. She says, "I am excited to show my powers to you, and you all manage to counter it. Therefore the Island Badge is yours."
After Bonnie leaves the field, Max is the next as they see how Reshow is going to battle him. Much to their surprise is that in the last battle, Reshow sends out Volcanion and does a Z Move that they have no idea.
"Use Hot Spring Blast!" Reshow yells as Volcanion's cannons glow, then it shoots at Max's Manectric, causing it to faint.
But in the end, with Max's Flapple, he wins the Volcanion in the end and gets the badge. Max gets the badge and thanks Reshow, then they place the field away, returning the place to normal.
Once they are done, they are surprised to see Diantha and the Electric Type Leaders, Bonnie says, "Brother?!"
"What?" Everyone exclaims and then they see the group of Electric Specialists
"It seems like every gym leader and elite four in the world are here for a vacation." Lillie says.
"Yeah." Ash says.
As Bonnie hugs Clemont, he says, "Bonnie, I saw your battle, you are amazing."
"Thanks, brother." Bonnie says.
Then as Ash greets them, Viola says, "Ash, it has been a while."
"Indeed. Although it is a shock to see you killed yourself." Grant says. "So you are a Pokemon?"
"Yes." Ash says. "And it is great to see you again, too."
Konomi then says, "Mom!" Then she hugs Diantha.
"Hello, Konomi. How are you?" Diantha asks.
"Great, mom. Although being an Elite 4 is quite tiring." Konomi says.
Seibold also goes to greet Diantha, and the others are surprised that they are married. Serena says, "Wait, Ash. Does that mean you and Diantha are related?"
"What?" Even the others are shocked at this revelation.
Diantha says, "Why yes, Serena. My full name is Diantha Ketchum. Aurora and Valerie are my siblings."
Professor Oak says, "I never knew about that..."
Mark says, "In fact, we Ketchums lives mostly in the Kalos Region. Almost half of the Kalos Gym Leaders are a part of Ketchum."
Elesa says, "What? Is that true?"
"That's true." Aurora says as they leave the aquarium.
