"Jamie. I, we had a good life." Zoro says. He wipe his tear but they just kept falling down. "He was so... different. He had an over the top sense of justice, he was funny and always made me laugh, he was nice to everyone and cared for everyone equally." Even with the tears Zoro still smiled a little. "He was childlike when he can be but an adult when he had to be. We would do nothing but just be together and that would be enough sometimes, or we would go out and do something crazy but fun. We were the best of friends and more." Zoro look at Sanji, at last but Sanji didn't count that as a win. "I miss him, and want him back." Zoro's expression is pleading, like Sanji could do something about this, like anyone could do something about this.
"You must have really loved him." Sanji finds himself saying. It hurt when he saw Zoro looking down at his lap and nodding.
"We were going to get married," the tears kept flowing, "and everything was perfect. Not to sound like you but we had things planned. We were already moved in together so next was marriage. Then we were going to save up for our honeymoon and when we were ready to adopt we would go on our late honeymoon, how ever long that would be in the future, and spent time together. When we would get back we would look into adoption more. It was the perfect plan. A solid plan. I wanted that, and it hurts that he's not with me anymore."
"He hasn't been with you for four years Zoro." Sanji says getting a little jealous. 'nice to everyone and cared for everyone equally,' yes he knows how he treats guys sucks but he couldn't help it, it's just the way he is. He's gotten better.
"And it hurts, I still miss him and think about him."
"Zoro I think you need to let go. I think it's time. I mean everyone is back, Nami, Robin, Franky, Usopp, me. We are all here. Then there's Arin and Lili, Luane also whats to see you more often, I want to see you more often. Do you not remember? I like you Zoro. Let's talk about that."
"You don't like me, you just think you do." Zoro says.
"How could you know that?" Sanji says rolling his eyes.
"You have a daughter, you had fallen in love and obsess over one gender and ignore the other. I trust you with my back but I trust you enough to like you again." Zoro says says glaring at Sanji. Sanji just observed the man in front of him with wide eyes. He trust him but not that much. Sanji looks down at his lap, he felt sad and hurt, he didn't know what to do now.
"I really like you Zoro." Is all he says before he finds himself walking out of the room and out the hospital building. A saddened face the whole way.
He sat in the break room at work, phone to his ear. He didn't have much of an appetite after that. "So that's what happened? That's all you said?"
"Yeah," Sanji sighs with no energy.
"Well of course! You didn't tell him anything. I'll take care of Luane tonight, you go back to the hospital and talk to him. Tell him everything, tell him how you thought about him for three month, about how you feel and describe it. About Luane. Everything! Ugg.. you both are a pain in the ass. You can't talk anything out like an adult."
"I'll try." Sanji says but he's not looking forward to it. He doesn't really have hope it'll change anything.
"You better. I can only hear you but you sound annoyingly depressed and I don't think having Luane with you like that would be good. I'll pick her up from school. I'm sure she wouldn't mind spending time with me if it mean you and Zoro talk. It. Out!" With that she hangs up after giving Sanji a ringing in his ear. Not that he cared.
He didn't care about anything at the moment.
Like she said, Sanji left Luane in Nami's care and headed to the hospital. He got there earlier but sat in his car for hours not knowing how this is going to go. But after thinking really hard on what to say and Nami beating him if he didn't do this he left and walked in the hospital at night which shouldn't be scary but is for some reason. It's not so much because it's dark, it's actually lit up really well, it's more the atmosphere. To have people here walking around like crazy during the day to have the halls all empty, the buzzing and murmurs of people talking to it having gone dead silent. It's a complete change to everything.
Sanji got closer to Zoro's room and heard a crashing sound. Objects falling on the floor, the sound of someone gasping and groaning. Hopefully Zoro isn't doing something horrible. Sanji sprints into the room to find it dark, the curtain drawn shut, the lights turning off. After a few seconds Sanji gets use to it and sees a black figure, to tall to be Zoro. The bed is empty and the blankets are all over the place, the box he brought Zoro's breakfast in is on the floor with paper and pens. He then notices another figure laying on the floor.
Zoro! Zoro is on the floor and he's not moving which is not good. Sanji looks up at the figure as he moves to turn towards the cook. He could hear the rumbling of the clouds and the patter of the rain hitting the window behind the curtains. Like some horror movie lightening strikes and he sees his face in the man standing across from him. Well not a mirror image. His hair was straight (Sanji's curls at the end now) but the style is the same and he's missing a key looks. His eyebrow is not curled.
It is Tim.
