Chapter 29

Those two words sent fear through all of them except Daisy who had no idea who Nat was.

Ali decided that it would probably be best if she answered the phone so looked over at Clint and held out her hand.

Clint passed her the phone and Ali pressed the answer button.

"Hello Mamma!"

"Ali where are you and where is Clint?"

"Clint is right next to me."

"Okay and why aren't you at the tower? I know you aren't so don't try and trick me. Why are you in an abandoned warehouse?"

Ali could hear the panic in her Mamma's voice but also knew that the whole team needed to be there to see Coulson because it would be safer for him that way.

"Where is everyone else?"

"Ali, where are you?"

"I will tell you, but please can you come with the rest of the team as there is something that you should all see, and it would probably be best if you all saw it at the same time."

Clint was now asking Coulson questions which probably had to do with the team getting here but once he was done, he held out his hand for the phone back.

"Ali of course I will come but please tell me that you are safe and with Clint."

"I am safe and with my sister. Also, Clint is here, and he wants to speak to you. Please don't be too hard on him since I tricked him into letting me out the tower."

Ali handed over the phone to Clint and as soon as Clint had said hello, Ali saw him wince and pull the phone away from his ear. He proceeded to walk around the corner so that no one could hear what was being said.

Daisy was about to ask who was on the phone and how they had made two of the best agents she knew scared, but Ali decided to quickly change the subject.

The force on the ice wall she had created seconds before her Mamma phoned was still playing on her mind.

"Do you have any Inhumans here at the moment?"

"Yes, why?"

"Well can they run really fast?"

"You saw Yo-Yo when she was running!"

Everyone was looking at Ali shocked. All of them thinking about testing Ali's abilities.

Ali looked down sheepishly.

"I think I might have given her a headache..."

Now everyone was looking at Ali in confusion. They hadn't seen Yo-Yo move which was to be expected but surely if something where to be big enough to hit her head then they would have seen that?

"She ran into a wall of ice that I created..."

"What wall of ice?"

May asked the question since she was the fasted to speak.

"I felt someone behind me so automatically blocked off their entrance to this corridor and then I felt something hit the ice and then it was gone."

"Wait... You can use your powers that quickly?"

"It was a reflex."

Ali was still looking down but when she brought her eyes to meet Daisy's she could see not only the surprise in them but also the awe.

Clint was still on the phone to Nat when two more figures came around the corner. They were in some deep Sciencey conversation which only stopped once they had seen the group of 4 in the corridor. They hadn't seen Clint yet as they would have to pass the group that they had just stopped in front of to properly see him.

One of the two was a woman with brown hair that was hanging down her face, but it stopped just before her collarbone. She was wearing a grey top and jeans. The other person was a man with curly brown hair, and he was wearing a blue shirt and jeans.

Their clothing was in contrast to her sisters and May's since they were both in completely black tactical gear while Coulson was in a black and white suit.

They had both stopped in front of the group and before they could say anything Daisy spoke,

"Jemma Simmons and Leopold Fitz..."

She pointed to them each as she said their names.

"...but we just call them Jemma and Fitz."

Ali stuck her hand out in front of her as if she was a businesswoman. She knew that Daisy was leaving her to introduce herself and so that way she could say as little or as much as she wanted too to them.

Jemma took her hand first, before Fitz, and shook it as Ali said,

"Ali Romanoff, Daisy's little sister, an excellent hacker who broke through Daisy's encryptions for this SHIELD database, an excellent fighter and the first child Inhuman."

Both of them were shocked while both May and Daisy were laughing at their expressions. No one seemed to have noticed her last name.

Fitz was the first one to recover,

"You're an Inhuman?"

Ali nodded.

"What can you do?"

She quickly changed her eyes to blue and then back again. Everyone just saw a flash of blue.

"You can change your appearance?"

Ali shook her head and asked,

"What is your favourite animal?"

Within a second of asking the question Fitz had answered it,

"A monkey."

She technically didn't need to turn her eyes blue to activate her abilities, but it made it easier, and she thought that it made her look way cooler.

Her eyes turned blue, and she held out her hand. A ball of ice appeared a few seconds later and was hovering just above her palm. Ali began to shape it into a monkey. After about 10 seconds an extremely realistic monkey made of ice was floating above her hand.

She then held out her hand to Fitz. Fitz took the monkey and seemed to be analysing it. Simmons seemed to be doing the same but instead of analysing the monkey made of ice she was analysing Ali with wonder.

"How did you do that? Nobody can just create matter out of nothing."

"I have no idea how I can do it. I just can."

She answered Fitz's question but Jemma's one was a lot more complicated to answer since it came with so many conditions.

"Can we do tests on you to see how you can do this. All the tests I would do are perfectly safe, and I have done them on Daisy before as well."

"No needles."

That got rid of most of Jemma's tests since they required blood for her to do tests on, but she nodded her head at the girl none the less.

"Why don't we put her in one of the containment rooms and measure the levels of oxygen and hydrogen in the room before and after she has created something with her powers."

He was mainly talking to Jemma but didn't lower his voice to show to the girl that he had nothing to hide.

"That's a good idea. Only of course if it is alright with you Ali?"

Ali nodded her head and let the two lead the way. The group left Clint behind. He was still on the phone to Nat and knowing her Mamma it was going to be a very long conversation with a lot of threats and shouting.

They walked down the corridor and took two rights and then a left before they stopped in front of a door. Jemma opened it and motioning for Ali to step into it.

Daisy gave Ali a comforting smile as Jemma shut the door leaving Ali in the room on her own.

The room was completely white with a massive TV screen that took up most of the back wall. There was a bed in the far corner and the sides of the room had hexagons drawn out on it.

In the corner to her right was a sort of container. It too was white and had a window on the side that kind of made it look like a viewing room though it was really too small for that.

Ali saw her sister, Grandad, May, Jemma and Fitz step into the little container. Both Fitz and Jemma had tablets in their hands and were typing on them.

Jemma looked up before Fitz and saw Ali looking at the tablets in their hands.

"My one measures your vitals and brain activity and Fitz's one measures the number of atoms in the room."

Ali nodded her head to show that she understood before waiting patiently for Fitz to finish on his tablet.

"Alright I am done. I have taken count of the different elements in the room. Ali can you make do exactly what you did before?"

"A dolphin please this time."

Jemma spoke as soon as Fitz had finished since she had always loved dolphins. Fitz looked at her annoyed, but she just shrugged her shoulders and said,

"What?"

Fitz shook his head and motioned to Ali to start.

Ali was grinning after watching the antics of the two scientists but did as Fitz had told her.

Her eyes turned blue, and she held her palm out.

This time it took a little longer to create the animal as Ali was trying to make it look a lot more interact than the monkey.

After about 20 seconds, just hovering above her hand were two dolphins. Both were attached by the water that they appeared to be jumping out of. One was smaller than the other.

Fitz seemed to be intently looking at the readings that he now had in front of him while the rest of the team waited for him to explain what he was seeing.

Before he started talking, he handed his tablet over to Jemma so that she could see the results.

"Ali is able to control the Hydrogen and Oxygen atoms in the room. She can break the bonds between those atoms, and she can create new ones. She doesn't create ice from nothing she creates ice from the atoms already in the room."

Ali was no genius, so she only partially understood what he was saying.

When the 5 stepped out of the container she went to the door near her and opened it to let herself out.

Once she was out, she was met by the others who all lead the way back to the corridor where they had left Clint.

When they got there Ali walked over to Clint whose conversation with her Mamma seemed to be coming to an end since she couldn't hear anymore shouting.

She heard Clint say goodbye before handing the phone to Ali.

"The rest of the team and I will arrive at your location in about an hour. Please stay safe and stay exactly where you are. I don't want to loose you again."

"Don't worry Mamma I will stay right here and see you in an hour. I will also make sure that Uncle Clint behaves, and you will never loose me again."

She could hear her Mamma's smile in her voice as she said,

"See you in a bit my little spy."

Ali handed the phone back to Clint once her Mamma had hung up.

Her face was set in a smile.

Both Jemma and Fitz disappeared into the lab. Probably to look and analyse the results of the test they had done on Ali.

Ali knew that she had an hour to kill and so decided that she wanted to see what her sister had been taught.

"Do you have a training room where I can see what you have learnt because I know some self-defence moves too."

Daisy smiled at her sister's eagerness to see what she could do. She also found it relieving to know that even after all this time she still had things in common with her little sister.

May led the way and both Daisy and Ali kept pace beside her while the two men trailed behind.

They were both excited to see what would happen.

Clint wanted to see someone other than him get beaten by his niece and Coulson wanted to see what Natasha had taught her.

They carried on down the same corridor until the lab was out of view. Only then did they stop outside a door.

May opened it to reveal two people who Ali had not yet met.
